Project: I'm Speaking, featuring HELEN KLEBESADEL
What drew me to Helen Klebesadel wasn’t just her incredible career and activism, but her ART.  Helen has been using SPIRALS as a symbol in her work throughout her career and having our lives spiral together when they did left me a bit gobsmacked.

Helen is an artist, educator and activist who maintains her studio in Madison, Wisconsin.  As an academic, Helen spent a decade teaching art at Lawrence University, and almost two decades teaching and administering arts and women’s and gender studies programs for UW System and UW-Madison.

Over the course of her 35-year art career she has participated in more than 30 solo exhibitions and 100 group exhibitions internationally and throughout the United States.  She is a past national president of the Women’s Caucus for Art and a recognized art teacher, coach and mentor to emerging artists.
And she’s a hoot to boot!
