Komal Shah is an educational speaker and thought leader on a mission to transform the world through conscious education.

After Komal spent five years in the Teach For America program as a middle school educator, she was left wanting more. She wanted more for her kids, all kids. To pursue this dream, she attended USC Marshall School of Business where she received her MBA. In 2021, she published her first book, Raise Your Hand! A Call for Consciousness in Education. 

Today she leverages her passion for education, business expertise, and her personal conscious living practices. Her plan is to shift outdated educational paradigms and transform the educational system for the betterment of all children.

As an experienced educator with over 13 years with experience in all types of educational settings, I believe education is powerful. However, what's out there isn't working and it’s time to make changes. Education needs to be social, experiential, applicable, and reflective. It's necessary to rethink what it means to learn, and to transform what doesn’t work into possibilities with fun, excitement, and passion. 

I am a passionate seeker of knowledge, and I strive to spark enthusiasm and passion within all those who I come into contact with. I am an asker of questions, a maker of mistakes, a taker of risks, and a person who likes to know things...because ya know, knowing things is cool. I make a point to feed my curiosities and I model that for those I encounter.

My work is at the intersection of technology, language, culture and social and emotional learning. By connecting students to people & places to whom they would never otherwise have access, I believe that live video conferencing is an underutilized force of positive, revolutionary change in education. Using this powerful tool to enact positive change is my ikigai, my reason for being.
