Welcome back to Photographic Connections with Kim Grant.

After some time away from the microphone, the podcast returns for a third series and this one brings something a little different.

What’s New in Series Three?

This season features an eight-part series of conversations, but instead of interviewing well-known photographers, Kim sits down with eight of her own clients.

Over the winter months, Kim hosted a three-and-a-half-month online community experience called the Winter Wellness Club — a space dedicated to mindful photography during the darkest (and often hardest) months of the year. Through this experience, she reconnected with long-time clients and built meaningful relationships with new ones.

One thing became clear: everyone has a story to tell.

And many of the most inspiring photographic journeys come from everyday people who have discovered what owning a camera helps them see, feel, and experience.

What You Can Expect?

Across the next eight episodes, you’ll hear:

  • How each guest first discovered photography
  • What inspires them to pick up their camera
  • What they most enjoy photographing
  • How photography shapes the way they see the world
  • The impact mindful photography has had on their wellbeing and personal journey

At the end of every episode, each guest shares practical exercises, techniques, or advice, so you won’t just be inspired, you’ll walk away with ideas to try yourself.

Why This Series Matters

Photography isn’t just about technical skill or recognition. It’s about connection — to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us.

This series is a reminder that meaningful creative journeys belong to all of us.

Kim Grant

Hello and welcome to the Photographic Connections podcast. My name is Kim Grant, and I’m coming to you today with some very exciting news — we are returning for the third series of the podcast.

Today, I want to share a short message to let you know what you can expect from the series ahead.

So, welcome back to the podcast.

My gosh, it’s been quite some time since I last sat down and recorded an episode. And if I’m being completely honest, I was never 100% sure if I was going to do another series — but here we are.

In January, I had a really interesting idea: to sit down and record an eight-part series. Only this time, rather than speaking mostly to quite well-known photographers, I wanted to sit down and speak with eight people I know personally — my clients.

Over the winter, I hosted a three-and-a-half-month online container called the Winter Wellness Club. It was an opportunity for us to come together online in community and practise mindful photography during the darkest — and often, for many, the hardest — months of the year.

Throughout this container, I reconnected with a number of clients I’ve known for many years, as well as some new faces I’ve got to know really well over the winter, which has been really lovely.

Something that has become very clear to me over the years is that we all have a story to tell. And some of the most inspiring stories I’ve ever heard have been from those I’ve met personally through this work.

So that’s what series three is all about — sitting down and speaking to eight of my clients about their photographic journeys:

  • What inspired them to start photography in the first place
  • What they enjoy photographing
  • The things that owning a camera enables them to see and experience
  • And how mindful photography specifically has supported them on their journey

Over the next eight weeks, I’ll be sharing these episodes with you. There are some very interesting and inspiring stories within this series.

At the end of every episode, I ask each person if they have any exercises, techniques, or advice to share — so there’s plenty of learning you can take away as well.

If you feel inspired by hearing other people’s stories and you enjoy podcasts, then I truly hope you enjoy what’s to come in the next few weeks.

I’m really looking forward to sharing these episodes with you.
