Joe Smith

Joe is the lead pastor of Shift Church in Gainesville, FL. He is also a board member of the North Central Florida Pride Center. Shift is an open & affirming church but wasn't always. Joe and his wife Tori have been deconstructing out of conservative evangelicalism for many years and have led the church out of it as well.

Joe has been married for over 20 years and is a proud dad to two awesome kids. Joe is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and love the St. Louis Cardinals. He's a big Sci-Fi nerd. His favorite genre is future dystopian and his favorite series is the Red Rising trilogies. Joe has been a pastor for over 20 years with the majority of those in conservative evangelical churches. Joe's hope is that the work he is able to be part of now, helps undo any harm he was part of and to help create a healthier way forward.
