Welcome to the Starsology Astrology Podcast. I am your host, Alison Price, and I'm here with my good friend and co-host, Arwen O'Neill. Hello, Alison. It's great to be here. So nice to have you once more. So in this episode, we're going to be doing the August 2026 Astro Overarch.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_04And every month we do these overarches, and really what they are, they are what's going on astrologically that astrologers want to know about. So it's not necessarily a horoscope whatsoever. And the idea is that we are talking about the planetary ingresses, that's planets changing signs. We're going to be talking about any stations at the beginning or ending of retrograde periods. Yeah. We're also talking about any lunations, which are full moons and new moons, or eclipses. And let's say, yes, eclipses this month.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_04Because we're definitely going to um eclipse season. Have a couple of yeah, this, yeah, the second eclipse season in this. So the idea is that these are the things that any astrologer worth their soul, yes, I'm saying it, would look at. If you were writing horoscopes, you would want to be paying attention to these particular movements.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_04We do sometimes mention larger aspects, but not always, because they are so transient. And we don't necessarily go into that. So it's just the main the main things, which is what I would write if I when I used to write horoscopes back in the day, it was ingresses, uh, stations, and lunations. That that is that is what you must know about. Yeah. And the rest is like the bells and whistles and all the additional icing on the cakes and what have you. Yeah. So um, just briefly, I'm just gonna give you a bit of an overarch overarch of the overarch, a highlight, I've called it, and you can clip through to the blog to the blog post for all the details here. So, what we've got is I'm just quickly gonna go over the highlights with the sun's entering Virgo, Mercury's leaving Leo and going through Virgo and pushing on into Libra. Good old Venus is it enters its rulership of Libra, and Mars enters Cancer. So that's those are the main ingresses we're gonna chat about. The station, the only one station, and Chiron's retrograding, that's just the one. And then we've got two fabulous eclipses that we're gonna talk about a little more in detail. We've got a lunar eclipse, a lunar eclipse in Pisces, and a solar eclipse in Leo. Nice. Additionally, um, on the solar cycle, which I find interesting anyway, which is what's happening, where's the sun, what's the sun doing, blah, blah, blah. And we're going to have the Wheel of the Year Festival of Lamas. So we'll have a little chat about that too. So I have drawn the August 2026 chart about what's happening, and um, which I do enjoy doing in full colour. Every month I draw these charts, and really people have written to me and said, Well, why don't you just print it from Astro Gold? Well, I could do that, but but why would I do that when I like doing the art, the art, the art of astrology? And um. So I've got a full colour diagram there of the August 2026 chart, and you can see planets that really aren't moving much. Pluto doesn't have any movement showing at all. But when you look at things like the Sun and Venus and Mercury that's trotting along, you can see where they're moving to. You can also see that Karen is doing that retrograde because it's turning around its position. And that's why I enjoy doing these things.
SPEAKER_01And I love looking at that. That that brings it to life for me.
SPEAKER_04Well, that's nice to hear because I like I like doing it. I like using the full colour. I've got my full palette there. I've got the two eclipses in the solar and the lunar. And if you just printed the chart from Astro Gold, you would only get it for August the 1st.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you wouldn't see the arrows and and like how far Mercury moves, how far V Venus moves. That's what actually makes it sort of a a living thing for me. Yeah. And then the fact that that Chiron has a little arrow going the other way, it's like stationing retrograde.
SPEAKER_00I love it.
SPEAKER_04It's a yeah, it's a visual reputation representation of the ephemeris for August the 1st to August 31st. That's what we're looking at. Yeah, I love that.
SPEAKER_03It's great.
SPEAKER_04And um, I you know, this is yeah, people said, Why don't you just print the chart? Why are you drawing this thing? Um, because it takes me an hour to draw it. And yes, and I like doing it, that's why I do it.
SPEAKER_01It it communicates something different than just seeing the drawing. That's true.
SPEAKER_04Don't they say pictures like a thousand words or something?
SPEAKER_0131 days. You're you're actually giving a a moving time piece for the for the month.
SPEAKER_04I like it. Sounds good. Thank you.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_04So let's have a look at what's going on for August 2026 over Arch.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_04So um on the 6th, we've got Venus is entering Libra. Oh, wait, isn't isn't the Festival of Lamas the first of the month? No.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_04Why would you think that? Okay, tell me why you think that.
SPEAKER_01I Googled it and it says August 1st. Is that not true? Oh, no. Is Google lying? Well, there's a subtlety there. There is a lesson in this. Don't just Google things and trust it.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_01Wow.
SPEAKER_04Let's talk about this. Why have you got Lamas at August the first? Because typically that's when they do it.
SPEAKER_01It says traditionally it's a harvest festival celebrated on August 1st. That's what it says.
SPEAKER_04Yes, traditionally it's August 1st.
SPEAKER_01But not always.
SPEAKER_04Well, astrologically and as astrologers, okay. Lamas happens when the sun gets to 15 degrees of Leo.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god. Okay, well, that's great. That's good to know. See, this is this is valuable. This is a valuable distinction. We're not deleting this. We're not.
SPEAKER_04And you know, it's the same with Halloween. Halloween's on October the the 31st, but technically, astrologically, it's not. It's a November the 8th, because that's when it's at 15 of the fixed signs. Fantastic. That's very good. Because when we talk about the Wheel of the Year, you've got your eight festivals. So you've got your four main quarter days.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, go listen to that episode.
SPEAKER_04Exactly. And then you've got your your cross-quarter days, which is where the Lamas occurs when the sun is at 15 degrees of Leo.
SPEAKER_01Well, I'm one of those people for whom like Halloween is an entire season. So I'm all I'm happy about that. That works for me.
SPEAKER_04No, technically, and in the main, people say Lamas is on August the first. And they are perhaps the Wiccan people or those kind of people. And that's absolutely the Celtic people and good for them, the Wheel of the Year people. But we are not, we are astrology preachers, exactly. So and we're good at Virgo astrologers, so we can definitely split and go to half.
SPEAKER_01L A F, yes. Did you know that Lamas means loaf mass? Yes, you did. Maybe our listeners didn't. It's about the making of the bread. Yes. Yes, yes, the bread harvest. All right. All right, cool. Let's go. Let's move on.
SPEAKER_04This is the thing, you see, but in in modern culture, uh, this is what the that we say it's August the first, but dig deeper, people. Dig deeper.
SPEAKER_01Don't just Google it and read back what AI says. Well, like some people.
SPEAKER_04Challenge it, challenge it. Challenge it. Say what degree is the sun at on August the 1st. And it's not at 15. No, no, no, no, no.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_04So let's start that again. So ha ha ha. Good question though, Arwen. Good question.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04You know, this is the thing. You know, people are gonna say, yeah, why are they saying that when everyone knows it's this? Well, no, no. So question.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Okay, so we start with on the 6th of August, Venus centers Libra. So it's leaving Virgo behind, it's going into Libra. And this is a good thing.
SPEAKER_01It's a great thing. We love Venus and Libra. I have Venus and Libra. It's it's a fantastic placement.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. And why is that?
SPEAKER_01Because it is its own rulership. Yes. And it's it is the most harmonious and and uh and romantic and open-hearted. It's love, isn't it? Yeah, partnerships and presenting itself in a beautiful way. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Absolutely, absolutely. Yeah, I've got just got some thoughts on that. So um, as Venus enters Libra, um, if you are single, there's a good chance you will meet a potential partner now. If you're already in a committed relationship, you can expect meaningful connections with your partner, yeah, and um offer stylish and elegant gifts to your loved ones as they would appreciate the gesture.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So, you know, sometimes you've been in a long-term relationship and it all become a bit yawn. Um, you know what I mean. And um, this was a good time to rekindle those little romantic bits and bobs of the colours. I'm looking forward to that. Yeah, yeah. And in general, Venus is a feminine planet, it it loves, acquires, and appreciates. Venus represents young women, girlfriends, sweethearts, and accountants. And Venus rules Taurus and Libra. So we love it in Libra. We absolutely love it.
SPEAKER_01And I know I've said this before, it's becoming less and less relevant and meaningful to anyone as the years go by, but I always think of Taurus and and Libra as the Ginger and Marianne. Right. The Marianne and Ginger, rather. Right. Of the uh the horse code. Okay. Because um because, well, Gelgens Island, uh, Marianne was the girl next door, she was like the the lovely, you know, she knew how to cook, she had little pigtails and whatnot, and ginger was like the the flat boy at movie star who was ship ranked on the island and just tried to bring glamour and a bit of uh showmanship to uh to the pilot. I guess I am the ginger, yeah. You're the ginger, why have a Marianne bone in my body interesting, interesting?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, all right, so that's our first uh movement going on, and then ta na na na on the 8th of August, we have Lamas. Yeah, so what this means is that the sun has got to 15 degrees off Leo, it's a fixed sign, it's a cross-quarter day, and it starts the festival of Lamas. Yeah, which has to do with bread. It absolutely does.
SPEAKER_01So loaf mass, apparently.
SPEAKER_04Loaf mass, absolutely. So um, this is a joyous occasion and typically observed in August. Well, it's typically observed on August the 1st, but that's incorrect.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Um, however, I'm writing here, we astrologers view Lamas as the moment when the sun reaches 15 degrees of Leo, which is on August the 8th this year. And traditionally during Lamas, families celebrate the first harvest of early wheat or corn, and everyone takes part in baking bread from the first harvest. Yeah. That's the and that's the Lamas loaf. So um, the initial loaf called the Lamas loaf holds special significance, and with shared delight, the freshly baked bread is savoured and festivities abound, honouring the blessings of the present harvest and looking forward to the abundant yet to come. Because the harvest isn't the earliest harvest is in Leo, but the main harvest is in Virgo and the late harvest is in uh Libra. But as soon as they because let's face it, they've come through this whole year with just crusty old loaves. Now they've got fresh wheat or fresh corn or whatever they're making the loaves from.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And um, if you actually click through to my lamas article, there's a recipe there to how to make the lamas loaf. And um, the symbol itself for lamas looks like a loaf of bread, and that's what is actually sliced in half with a knife. Yes. Yeah, well, do you know how loaves are like scored on top?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So um I've got that little image there, and it says there, Sun 15 Leo.
SPEAKER_01Nice, nice, nice. I love it. Dips that in some olive oil and some balsamic vinegar.
SPEAKER_04Because that's when that is the first bread, and that's when you just eat the bread. Yeah, it's not additional to the burger, it's the bread is the main thing you're eating. And it bread is a starve of life, right? It's people back then, if you had a farm. Oh gosh, yeah, or you lived, I don't know where you lived, you struggled, and that first loaf was yeah, we celebrated it. We didn't just shove it down the hatch, you know, yeah like we do today.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Or avoid it like because it's full of carbs. Full of carbs.
SPEAKER_04But no, but it's a lamas loaf. We'll we'll let ourselves have a slice of a lamas loaf. And um, the recipe is there, and my daughter actually baked it one year, and it was just so good. But um because it's freshly baked bread that you make in your own oven, you really have to eat it that day.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_04Because the next day it's so hard, it could be the murder weapon, you know. Whereas bread you buy in a shop will is all squidgy for 10 years because they've got all the preserves.
SPEAKER_01Whatever, yeah, exactly, to make it keep stuff. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Interesting. So Lamas, we like to celebrate Lamas, and that's always uh mid-August. Nice. Yeah, well, the eighth. Yeah. I love that. So then on the 9th of August, uh Mercury enters Leo. This is the time to open your mind for some fun conversation as you meet interesting people when Mercury enters Leo. You don't have to be buddies with everybody, but now you will be discerning about with whom you choose to associate and try to be one of the team as there is a mutually creative theme in group dynamics. Difficult in Leo. Leo's very independent, but we want to try and kind of mix in.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean, and to put a bit of a positive spin on it, I feel like it's a good time to it makes it easier to talk about yourself. If you find it right, if you find it hard to open up, this might actually make it easier to speak from your heart, speak your personal truth from the heart. That's a Leo buzzword. And to actually talk about yourself in, you know, in a in an open-hearted and honest way that maybe you would shy away from in other times. Yes, yeah, especially, you know, comparing it to Mercury and Cancer, which is all about like trying to appease, you know, and make everybody happy. Right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. There you go.
SPEAKER_04That's a good one. Yeah. And in general, Mercury communicates trade and trades and is factual. Mercury represents agents and AI agents, uh, salespeople, youths, and teachers. Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo. Okay.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04All right. Then on the 11th, we've got Mars is entering Cancer.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So Mars is going from Gemini into Cancer. Um, family can get agitated now. So count to 10 before snapping back. Use this hot and pushing planetary drive to protect your close family. Stop all raised voices and arguments immediately, as they may get harsh. Guard your kinfolk with your life.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I I I feel like any arguments that happen in that with Mars and cancer, they're gonna go for the throat. You know, they're you're a family infighting. Yeah, it's you're you know exactly the thing to say without even thinking about it beforehand that's gonna hurt someone and they're gonna think about it for a while afterwards. So be careful with other people's feelings at this time, but it will be difficult. And it's also, I mean, cancer is is a very patriotic sign. So Mars and Cancer, I feel like this is uh, I mean, we've got enough wars going on in the world right now, but uh Yeah, it's the it's the sign of the the homeland, the home front, and uh and we will have people's opinion. Yeah, picking up arms to uh to protect the home front. Yeah, and also yeah, I mean calling for uh you know protecting others. I mean, on a positive note, you might uh feel the underdog. Yeah, exactly, standing up for the underdog, you know, yeah. Putting up your your fists for for good to protect that to protect someone who can't protect themselves.
SPEAKER_04Oh that's a good one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. So in general, Mars qualities are Mars is masculine, Mars competes, challenges, and acts. It's your most active planet. Mars represents young men, boyfriends, bad boys, pioneers, firemen, and soldiers. And Mars rules Aries and Scorpio. So it's it's it's your red-blooded. Okay, and then it's we're into eclipses. So on the 12th, we've got a solar eclipse at 20 Leo.
SPEAKER_03Yay!
SPEAKER_04So I'm suggesting here embrace the this auspicious moment to start on fresh beginnings in your creative and artistic pursuits. It's in Leo. Uh, whether it be music, art, dance, writing, poetry, or any form of creative expression, seize this eclipse moment to take on new projects, wholeheartedly immerse yourself and in your ingenious and crafty endeavors.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04The key lies in starting now to allow your creativity to blossom and flourish dramatically and without restraint under this eclipse over the next few months. Because whilst it's in Leo, you can be dramatic and flourishing. Yeah. Because it will eventually move into a Vogue. So we want to establish that thing.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. And it's near a conjunction with the South Node for what it's worth. So that is about releasing things that maybe have to do with the ego, that have to do with standing, you know, standing alone, whereas the north node is the opposite point, and that's about community and about progress and about those aquarium things, right? Yeah. So releasing the the dark side of Leo, the the South Node being kind of the what you're trying to move away from. Right, right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04It's great. And we do have um an art uh we do have a podcast about the the nodal axis that's been changing. Yeah, yeah. So that's kind of interesting there. So this solar eclipse is at 20 Leo.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So if it's conjoined anything in your chart, it will affect you. Yeah. Apart if it's not really conjoined, it really won't affect you, but you need to find out which house it's occurring in.
SPEAKER_01And if you have anything at 20 Aquarius as well, worth noting because that nodal sort of uh thing. Yeah. Any that'll bring in any opposition.
SPEAKER_04Do you have anything at 20 Leo? We don't know, do we?
SPEAKER_01Off the top of our heads, we don't. No. Um we have no.
SPEAKER_04Oh no, you'll you'll miss heavens at 12. You see, I actually do. Uh oh no, I know. It's just, it's just honestly, it's my year. My son's at 17, so I've got that. It's conjunction it's conjoined. This solar eclipse is conjoining my son. It's a little wide because it's three. Yeah. Uh because eclipses are usually just one or two degrees. However, I'm gonna take it because it's definitely your first house, and it's going to be a time when you know I'm gearing up to go forth and you know, creatively, as if I'm not already, but I haven't been while the sun has been in cancer. Yeah, that has held me down.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_04Whereas now I'm thinking, yeah, well, I'll wait for the 20th, uh, the 12th, and start to move that forward there. Love it. Because eclipses use typically last not more than six months, and it's sometimes four months, it just depends. You need to double check on those. But yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, totally.
SPEAKER_04So it's a great thing. And then on the 23rd, we've got the sun is entering Virgo. Yay!
SPEAKER_01Oh, when you're up. I I love this. I love this for us. Uh, I I do have the sun in Virgo, I recommend it. And uh yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, so the sun's gonna leave Leo behind, all that creativity is gonna go by the wayside, and we're going to get down to the nitty-gritty. Yeah, and this is the the date established day-to-day rituals.
SPEAKER_01This is the sign, the sign that actually spans from kind of the end of summer to the beginning of fall in the northern.
SPEAKER_04It's the main the main harvest.
SPEAKER_01It really is. And it's not not just about the harvest, but it's about back to school. Oh, yes, right. And it's about getting, you know, getting all that summer stuff put away, putting away your whatever those summer hobbies were. Cleaning the you know, the the lawn chairs and putting everything, taking everything off the patio or the balcony, or you know, cleaning up that yard and being prepared for for the rainy time in in Vancouver at least. Uh we always getting school supplies, school supplies, back to school clothes, yeah. Getting ready for it's huge here in Canada, huge. It really is, yeah.
SPEAKER_04I know we used to take and we used to go to like Walmart and with a cart and go to the school supply section, which popped up out of nowhere and say to the kids, because they all get a list. You need this, this, this, this. Get your stuff and put it in the cart. Because I'm thinking, really? You're gonna use all that?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04But um, we do like our art supplies anyway, don't we?
SPEAKER_01I mean, yeah, absolutely. That's that's a year-round thing. But yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So some thoughts is as the sun gracefully enters Lee, uh, Virgo, the significance of small things magnifies, offering you a chance to embrace the intricacies of life. Yeah. Um, by attentively observing all the details, you can navigate this month with ease and grace. Choose kindness and consideration. Uh, choosing kindness and consideration will attract positivity from the world around you as modesty takes center stage at the moment. Embrace the essence of Virgo and find harmony in the beauty of life's finer aspects.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04It really is about, you know, having your list, checking it twice, doing your thing, making this back to school thing is huge. Because it's not just for kids, people are going back to university, but you and I are thinking, yeah, I'm gonna sign up for that course.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, there's a vibe. There really is. And it's it's not uh like people talk about spring cleaning. Well, I mean, autumn cleaning has always been a big thing for me. Because really, yeah, there is a big switch that happens. I mean, as soon as, as soon as the the you know, the sun comes out in the spring and you want to go outside, and like that's not the time you want to maybe the the light is illuminating the dust in the apartment a bit more, and there's a the spring cleaning aspect. But I think fall cleaning is is almost more profound because you are putting things away that you know you kind of tolerated being a little dusty, a little, you know, a little, oh, you're wearing this a few more times than you would because it's oh, it's summer, who cares? You know, but then yeah, fall, it's gonna you get a little more serious, a little more introverted, a little more like, okay, what shows are we watching now? We're gonna, it's gonna be dark, you know, more. Yeah, and yeah.
SPEAKER_04I agree. I mean, I've recently been looking into home cleaning services because I want to get my carpet cleaned. It hasn't been cleaned for five years. Yeah, yes, I know. Um, but I also want to get someone to do a deep clean on my bathrooms and kitchens. Yeah. And um maybe I'll wait till the Sons of Virgo when I do that. But I've been looking into it and thinking, yeah, I want this doing before Christmas, and I don't want it to be doing at the last minute either.
SPEAKER_01So here's a weird digression, and I'm just gonna throw this out there because I just I discovered this very recently. We we have these bathtubs, and I mean, uh it sounds obscene to to brag about this because we just live in this uh kind of miraculous apartment building. Uh we we live in the same building, if anyone is not aware, and we have these crazy um sort of jacuzzi tubs that um our building was built in nineteen. And they were all about the big you know jacuzzi tubs back then, but they're very hard to clean. Like as a as a as a woman, oh my god, and they're not porcelain. So porcelain comes clean very quick very easily if you're scrubbing it just with a regular old you know um sponge. But like with these, you really have to, and and I personally have to stand in the bathtub to clean it because how else will you actually be able to scrub anything? And therefore, I'm not gonna use like incredibly harsh, like awful detergents because I don't want my feet to fall off and you know, um it's it's it's it's kind of a problem. But recently I discovered, and I hadn't, I'm not even gonna say how long it had been a very long time since I scrubbed the bathtub and it had become like offensive to myself. I was like, you know, really disgusted. And I for some reason we actually already had these magic erasers, like which I never used. Game changer. And we're not sponsored by, but if you're listening, Magic Eraser Company, um, you know, we we love you, like we salute you. I actually went through two of them, two of them to clean the entire bathtub. By the time I was done though, it was immaculate. I couldn't believe how clean it came. And I was just like, thank God, because magic erases let me make it. Yeah, the bath, there's a special bath kind, and it's like, wow, yeah.
SPEAKER_04It's well, you know what I do is I have a special broom in my in my bathtub, in my bathroom, which is a it's got a nylon bristles, it's like a sweeping broom you use in the kitchen, and it's only for the bath because then I'm I'm standing outside, yes, scrubbing it down with this broom to get in all the nooks and crannies and all those jets and whatnot. Totally and that's how I actually do it because otherwise you can't get to it. Oh god. So I'm standing there with this broom thing, but you get to a point where you think someone's gonna get in there and Virgo, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Let's do it. If you know, you know.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. So generally, just some further themes on the sun is the sun is a masculine, it's warm, bright, and life-giving. The sun represents you, your father, your heroes, and the sun rules Leo. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, then we get down to the 25th of um August, and Mercury's now moving into Virgo. Yeah. So it's gone from Cancer all the way through Leo, yeah, and it's now entering Virgo. Yeah. Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_01It's a fast-moving planet.
SPEAKER_04We like it. We like it in Virgo, we absolutely do.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So now you can focus on the nitty-gritty of life, which is clearly what we're going to be doing. Yeah. Um, and all the little things uh will have great emphasis for us.
SPEAKER_01All that meticulous planning becomes easier, the analytical problem solving, the list writing, the uh God forbid, the spreadsheets becomes just a little bit easier than when it was in Leo and you just wanted to like, oh, I want to sing, I want to be me, blah, blah, blah. Now it's like, okay, I can actually write this list. I can I can focus on details.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I do, I do, I do lists. I do, and I've got three whiteboards in my apartment. So just in case I've got a thought. But anyway. Yeah, so as Mercury, as Mercury enters um Virgo, um, now your mind will burst with innumerable ideas. So we've got lots going on. Yeah. You may wish to start a journal and capture every brilliant thought whilst Mercury is in Virgo. I dare to start another journal. I've got I'm a journal person, but anyway, uh now there will be good conversations and exchanges of ideas and uh plans and minor details can be fleshed out now, even if the projects are not acted upon just yet. Get all your paperwork in order.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So if you've got a plan and you've got a project, you're gonna do something, say you're gonna write a book or whatever it is, get your thoughts down. You're gonna do this, you're gonna do that, you're gonna do the next thing. And it won't necessarily happen while the sun is in Virgo, but the planning stage does. Yeah. So don't miss out on that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, absolutely.
SPEAKER_04Yes, I agree. And then on the 28th of August, we've got the lunar eclipse in Pisces. Love it. So it's four degrees Pisces. Well, call it five degrees Pisces. And so the lunar eclipse is going to um happen in Pisces at the North Node, indicating there are things to be brought towards us now.
SPEAKER_03Amazing.
SPEAKER_04Um this signals the time when you can see the fruits of your labours, either good or bad. It depends on what you have been working towards earlier in the year. And intuition is at an all-time high. So tune into what's going on and don't look a gift horse in the mouth. It's Pisces. So because it's um, you know, North Node, as we said, it's new things beginning. New thing, the North Node brings things onto the beach for you. Yeah, and in Pisces, let your intuition guide you. Should you be doing this, should you be doing that? Because we've got all this Virgo stuff going on.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So again, what do you want to do? Pay attention what happens on eclipse day, yeah, on eclipse week. And if you've got anything in your chart at five degrees Pisces, this lunar eclipse will affect you.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. Or five degrees Virgo, like I have, because my birthday is August 28th. My son is at five degrees Virgo, and this will be right exactly opposite my son.
SPEAKER_04Absolutely opposite. So, yeah. So then what are you going to be saying? Well, should I be doing this? Well, projection will come in and you'll say, Well, should I be doing it?
SPEAKER_01You think on your birthday?
SPEAKER_04You'll be thinking, Well, should I be doing this? Why am I doing that? Where am I going? What am I doing? Because it's to your son. I, me, Arwen. What am I going to be doing? And um, interesting. We'd love to get some feedback on that, on that lunar eclipse, opposing your son there.
SPEAKER_01I look forward to telling me.
SPEAKER_04Very, very interesting. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. I've just got a few more thoughts about the moon in general. So um, the moon is feminine, passive, reflective, and moody.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And the moon represents your mother, cooks, and caregivers, and the moon rules cancer.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So because the lunar eclipse is in Pisces, what this really means is that the sun is going to be in Virgo. You'd probably be getting, if it's your birthday, you're going to be getting the whole, I don't know if it's going to happen. Are you birthday 28th? When's your birthday?
SPEAKER_0128th, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Whoa.
SPEAKER_01That's what I'm saying. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Whoa. So, yeah. So it'll be very interesting um how that unfolds because you've got the lunar eclipse on your birthday. Yeah. So it's not only an eclipse that's going to be in effect for possibly six months ahead, it will be in your solar return chart for the whole year.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_04So what happens on that day and the day before and the day after, pay attention because that's going to be your theme for the year. So you want it. You want to make sure you're doing nice things with good people and moving things forward, whatever your projects happen to be turning into. If you decide you're going to be doing, God forbid, October, Pinktober, or something in October, November, December. Yeah. This is planning, get it sorted out. Yeah. Or share launches of things you might be launching.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04One never knows what's going to happen.
SPEAKER_01One never knows, yeah.
SPEAKER_04But it's definitely going to affect you, whereas it absolutely will not affect me. I've got nothing at well, I've got nothing in Pisces, nothing at five, and certainly nothing in five Virgo. So this is an interesting thing that this particular eclipse is affecting you. Whereas for me, it was the solar eclipse affecting me.
SPEAKER_03So I love that.
SPEAKER_04This is the thing with eclipses. Unless they conjoined a planet, they're likely to pass you by.
SPEAKER_01For sure. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And even though they're all a kernel, so this will trip blah blah blah. Unless it's affecting you, you're not, you're gonna not notice it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, which is fine. I mean, there's so much, there's so much that will be affecting you. There's so much to notice. So yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah. There's really a lot going on in general. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. And then on the last day of the month, on the 31st, we've got Jupiter, which we haven't even mentioned yet, is trining Saturn. Now, this is an aspect that we haven't dug into. I don't have much notes on it either. But the idea being that you what you've got is you've got the two gas trines of the sources. The big boys. Yeah. So you've got the planet that gives and the planet that takes. Now they're trining. So we're gonna hope that it's actually going to work together.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And let's just see. So we've got Jupiter is in uh Jupiter is in Leo and Saturn is in Aries, so it's a fire trine. Yeah. What do we say? Inspirations coming your way.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, absolutely. And we've talked about this, the Jupiter-Saturn uh cycle, have we not? If not, like let's pencil that in. We need to pencil that in. Yeah, yeah. Look forward to that. That's something to look forward to as our listeners. Yes. Because it's a fascinating cycle, it goes in 20-year increments.
SPEAKER_04And yeah, I don't think we have spoken about it.
SPEAKER_01No, it's fantastic. And there's actually a really interesting political kind of uh aspect to it. Yes. No pun intended content.
SPEAKER_04But yeah, um it's it's pretty much a nice thing. It's Jupiter Try and Saturn. Um Leo Aries. Yeah. And if you're a Leo or an Aries, then you can just lean right into all of that energy. Um, the rest of them may be struggling with it.
SPEAKER_01It's a fiery year, you know. It is. It's a fiery year. There's a lot of just fiery aspects and fiery nature going on this year. It's like we don't it's not every year that feels this way.
SPEAKER_04No, you know, well, it's Jupiter's and Leo, so it's really like, oh yeah. Yeah. Well it's showtime.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. 100%.
SPEAKER_04Okay. So um then sometimes, well, each month we like to do this background energy thing. Um at this time I'm organized. So the idea is you we're getting a broad stroke here. So what we're what we're actually looking at, we're looking at uh the beginning of August and then the end of August, and we're looking at which planets are in what signs, and therefore what is the background energy. So for my background energy count, I consider ten planets, which not what I said last month, but I consider ten planets. So it's the sun, not the moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Chiron. That gives you a count for ten. We we just we don't use the moon because it moves so fast.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So what we have is on the first of August, the polarity is mainly um active, um, with seven planets in it, and then the it's um passive with three. The elemental focus at the start of the year is actually fire. We've got fire, we've got four in fire there, so that is actually um a bit of a focus there, and the mode emphasis towards is towards the fixed planet, so that is fixed fire, so it is Leo, yeah, yeah, which as we know doesn't sometimes doesn't always uh correlate with actually what's going on. And um, so what I'm saying is the results there is an emphasis on fixed fire, which equates to the sign of Leo, which is great because sometimes, as you know, the emphasis when broken down does not um relate to the main sign, but in August it does. So we're happy about that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And actually, if you click through to the blog post, you can see the diagram we're referencing here. There's a table there for the beginning of August. Then when we get to the very end of August, as the month uh progresses, things have actually shifted. So the elemental is slightly unbalanced now with fire at three, earth is three, air is three, but lowly water only has one. So there's not a prominent element because you've got three, three, and three.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And the mode by the end of August are pretty balanced, as much as we can for ten. You've got four cardinal, three fixed, and three mutable. But overall, the energy feel at the end of August is balanced as we go, because it's nowhere in Virgo now. There are no specific outliers by polarity, element mode, or sign whatsoever. So we've got this um, you know, it's Virgo, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, we're taking it.
SPEAKER_04So it's pretty more balanced. So it's going from this strong fire, yeah, fixed fire, this Leo, the drama, the excitement, let's let's be creative towards the end as we move it to Virgo, where you've actually got everything's a little bit more toned down. And now this is what we call the background energies, and it's a way to have a broad stroke about what's going on in the month.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's awesome.
SPEAKER_04So, as I say, click through to the blog post, and you can actually then see these two tables that I created in full color.
SPEAKER_03Love it. I love this, yeah.
SPEAKER_04And then we have our fabulous segment, which is we're calling goddess of the month. Over to you, Arwen.
SPEAKER_01Okay. So this month I've chosen, and this is based on actually my 2026 calendar. Um, so the goddess of the month for August 2026 is Lilith. Lilith, Lilith, excuse me, is a complex mythological figure who actually evolved from ancient Mesopotamian mythology. She was considered a demoness of the night, and she was um associated with uh with actually um so this is kind of crazy, but preying on on pregnant women and uh and young women as a as a I know, right? And and on young couples and things, and she would kind of like uh sneak up on them and uh yeah, and like I it's badass goddesses, right? This is my brand. Yeah. So they're not always gonna be just like like you know, nice and fluffy. But uh, but then she was uh she was sort of adopted by the um the Christian mythology and she was considered the first wife of Adam. Yes, and later on she was exiled, and and Eve was uh born from the rib of Adam, and she was the more docile uh well, you know, until the snake came along because no, we we can't have nice things, you know. Uh right. And and also like the the dark and the light are always gonna balance each other out. As Jim Curry said at the end of legend, you know, like you can't have light without darkness. And uh and Lilith is a representation of that. She's not only um a representation of, you know, quote unquote evil and quote unquote, like, you know, like knowledge that you shouldn't have kind of thing, forbidden knowledge, but um, you know, the idea of a of a demon or of a of a daemon, like this uh sort of secret knowledge, right? And uh and she is sort of a monster and a seductress and a and a threat, but yet also she's been uh adopted as a kind of sign of liberation and uh and feminism and uh and female uh equality or female autonomy later uh later on. So yeah, that's uh the dualistic goddess of Lilith is my goddess for us. And did you ever watch Frazier?
unknownOf course.
SPEAKER_01Oh Lilith, yes, oh my god, yes, famously. If you actually watch Cheers, she first appeared on Cheers. One of my one of my favorite episodes of Cheers ever was actually the episode where because Frazier came along as like the the the sort of the the side wing, the side wing of like Shelly Long's character, uh Diane, and and she was with you know Ted Danson, who I actually met when I was like 10 years old. He was like a giant, he was the Go you a beautiful man who came into my mother's bookstore when I was like like eight years old, and uh he was so tall and so beautiful, and he had just gotten on cheers at that point because I was like, you know, in my 50s. But anyway, yeah, in in the show, uh Diane had broken up with with Sam, the you know, the former baseball player, and started dating this like psychiatrist, Freder, who everyone in the audience is supposed to just think is this you know crushing boar. And then eventually he they break up and and he ends up dating Lilith, who's another psychologist. And they have this episode where they're on this TV show and they go on and they're supposed to be like head to head, and you know, and it's just gonna be boring, and everyone's just watching it to make fun of them, right? Everyone in the bar cheers. This is you know, this is the whole point of the show, is like this is everyone goes to this bar. It's kind of like our relish, right? Yeah, yeah. Um, and so everyone's gonna, you know, tune into the show to watch Fraser and Lilith just be boring and terrible to each other. Um, because they've only ever seen her like, you know, come in and she's got this tight bun and you know, her hair is all tied up.
SPEAKER_04Pale face.
SPEAKER_01Pale, super pale. She's got her, you know, collar, like her white shirt all buttoned up to the to the neck. And then she gets she gets on the show, and just to win the debate with her and Fraser, she takes her hair down, and all of a sudden she's got this beautiful, like flowing black hair, and like, you know, she's put on some lipstick and she unbuttons her shirt, and all of a sudden he's just like starstruck. He's just like, you know, doesn't know what to say. Is that right? And yeah, so it's a great episode, and then they end up getting together. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, because like wow, but uh, but yeah, that's that's the you know, the Lilith thing. It's like you don't just crush them with your intellect, you also kind of like use your feminine wilds, you know, women take the heart out, throw on some dark lipstick, and yeah, yeah, unbutton a button or two.
SPEAKER_04Wow, and I know that well it always works, doesn't it? Right. And I know in astrology they use dark moon Lilith, which is not one not a point I've ever gone for, but it's so an observed that it's a fascinating point, uh or or whatever it is.
SPEAKER_01I went through a a phase where I was obsessed with that for a few minutes back in the I didn't realize she was a goddess, so there you go. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04What what Mesopotamia, that's what you said.
SPEAKER_01Demoness, and then uh yeah.
SPEAKER_04Wow, well that's an interesting one. And let me just uh ask is she actually the August um for your calendar or no? She is okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04She's your August uh calendar calendar goddess. Fantastic.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Wow, we'll check that out. I'll put an image of Lilith um there because I've got the calendar hanging in my kitchen. So I can definitely do that. Yeah. All right, great. Well, thanks so much, Arwen, for that. Thank you. Okay, so we have been talking about the Astro Overarch for August 2026. We've been talking about planetary ingresses, stations, of which there's only one, which is Karen. Anyway, it's very small, and also the lunation, the uh not only lunations, but the eclipses that are occurring in August this this month, which is great. Yeah.
