Welcome to the Starzoology Astrology Podcast. I'm your host, Alison Price, and I'm here with my good friend and co-host, Arwen O'Neill. Hello, Alison. It's great to be here. So nice to have you once more. So in this episode, we're going to be talking about the astrology of accidents. Yes, we are. And there is a reason for this, which we'll get into in a moment. So when we say accidents, we're talking about, you know, slipping on a banana skin or more serious accidents, car accidents, and things of that. Yes.
SPEAKER_02Accidents resulting in injury, let's put it that way. That's a good one. Yes. Yes. Because there can be all kinds of accidents that just uh near misses and you know, whatever, what have you. And we're not talking about death accidents here. We're talking about recoverable injuries. Or, well, okay, we'll get into that. But mostly.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Mainly. Yeah. Yeah. So um first of all, then let's just let's I just want to say that accidentally, you can't just look at a chart and say, oh, she's gonna have an accident. She's gonna break her leg. No, no. You're looking at a chart. It's it we are not being, what's the word? Not pre-prescribed.
SPEAKER_02Pre-pre destined. We're not predicting accidents. My God. No. It's it's like with earthquakes. You can look at the chart of an earthquake, yes, and you can interpret the chart of the earthquake, and you can say, oh, this is, you know, I see that this earthquake was catastrophic, resulted in loss of life because the moon is in whatever house or whatever, or it was an incredibly expensive earthquake. I was very fascinated with those uh those charts for a while. But you cannot suddenly predict, oh, there's going to be an earthquake at such and such a date. No. Same as with accidents in our lives. No.
SPEAKER_00So the the idea is that planets can be can be signified, and of course, it's so much easier to retrospectively go back and say, well, what happened when the accident happened? And then you can look at the chart. But going uh looking forward, it's very difficult to do that because just because you've say got a tough square or something like that does not indicate that you're necessarily going to have an accident. It could represent some other way of this energy manifesting.
SPEAKER_02Yes, some sort of difficulty or some sort of um uh something, something to be uh overcome. Yes. Yes, yes, of course, yeah, but not necessarily something, something sudden or or injury resulting. Yeah. And and so, I mean, let's I mean, we can get into this later, but why not now? Um so why do we do that? Why do we look at an accident chart? If not, if we can't predict accidents, what is the value? Well, I would say the value is uh in a lot of them, you can determine how you will react to that. This is why we do astrology, right? It's it's reacting to the energies that we're looking at. We're we're not necessarily trying to predict the future, but obviously we can predict how we how we may react to something and we can see where things may be difficult and what we do with that.
SPEAKER_00So Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And and a lot of the uh the charts we'll be looking at today, I think, will give us a clue as to how these accidents can be overcome and historically how they were or not overcome.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, yeah, yeah, that's a good point. It's um I I just don't want to be fatalistic about it and saying, oh well, if you've got you know Jupiter Square sat and you're gonna have an accident and blah blah. That's not what we're saying.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely not.
SPEAKER_00Um and and also some charts are more predisposer pre predisposed? Predisposed to indicating accidents than others.
SPEAKER_02People's charts. Yes. Of course. Yeah I mean, yeah, like you can have I I can't think of an example off the top of my head, but maybe I don't know, maybe if you have Uranus in the sixth house, for example, you might be prone to accidents at work or accidents involving your small pets or accidents in the garden, accidents involving your hobbies.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And that might be something to be careful of.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And you know that about yourself going in, and you're like, hmm, I better wear a helmet. Or, you know, I better be uh really aware of my surroundings at work if I work somewhere that dangerous things can happen. This is it. Wear hard-toed shoes or what have you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. So we're just gonna have a quick look at um each of the planets and how they may indicate um accidental things going on, or um and and why to kind of understand which planet we're more likely to find accidents uh indicated by. But um, I just want to go through them all because I don't want to just point to the usual suspect. Um we will in the end, I mean however. Yeah. So cool. Cool. So if we uh look at the uh sun, so the sun is not naturally an accident planet, but it represents your vitality, life force, and physical body. How do you bounce back from these things?
SPEAKER_02Right. So if you in your natal chart, if your sun is strong, if it is not super afflicted for lack of a better word, then uh then you will probably have um resilience.
SPEAKER_00Resilience is important. Yes, yeah, yeah, to to come back on it, yeah. Yeah, and um also when the sun is involved in accident signatures, which it will be, we'll talk about that. We have one that we're gonna talk about, it often shows how the events affected your health, your confidence, and your identity. Ah, that's a great one. So it's it's that kind of reflection. Yeah and a difficult transit with a sun may coincide with periods where extra care is advisable. Yeah, and that could be actually predicted.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Periods where you want to be really extra careful. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So, but generally it's not an accident, it's not a planet we think of as accidents to start with. No, I'm also just ignoring the moon because that's just passing by so far. It's it's not worth the talk. And then what about Mercury and accidents? So Mercury rules movement, transportation, and communications in general. And because it covers short travel and everyday journeys, Mercury often appears in charts involving road accidents, cycling mishaps, and perhaps travel-related incidents. Yeah. But Mercury itself is not particularly harmful, but challenging aspects from Mars or Uranus can increase the likelihood of hurried decisions, unexpected events occurring. I was gonna say traveling. While you're moving too fast, yeah? Yes. Yeah. And um these are more likely to be because we're talking about your local area, you step outside and before you just step off the curb and before you're paying. Yes. Whereas sometimes if you're traveling further afield, you're on much more high alert because you have to be, because you're in a new place or you're seeing new things. But when you're in the comfort of your own commute back and forth from here to there to work, you actually um that's when accidents happen. And they even say most accidents happen within one kilometer of your house. They do. They used to say accidents happen most in the home. I remember that being a two.
SPEAKER_02I mean, slipping in the shower. Actually, I mean, I don't have the chart of the of the event, but I have a friend who very recently slipped on a sock while putting the laundry away and is in a wheelchair now for six to eight weeks. Which is just awful. I mean, the fact that that can even happen is just so terrifying.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. In the comfort of your own home. Yeah, exactly. Why are we laughing?
SPEAKER_02No, but for the great so you know what I mean. Like we all just kind of laugh because it's like, oh God, it can happen to you anywhere.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. And I have to say, on the on the two occasions when I've broken my arms, um, one was I was in the back garden trying to fix a fence, and I I gave it some of my opinion, and the fence took it revenge on me, I broke my arm. And then the second time I just stepped out of the corridor, slipped on a polished floor, and went down and broke the same arm. Oh god. And it's just in your home. So yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So that's kind of an interesting thing as well, right? For sure. Yeah. So Venus, now beautiful Venus. Venus is seldom associated with accidents, right? Instead, Venus tends to soften difficult situations and often brings assistance and support from others. Um, however, because Venus rules pleasure and comfort, challenging Venus transits may occasionally coincide with accidents that occur during social activities, leisure pursuits, and while traveling for enjoyment.
SPEAKER_02I had a friend who broke her leg once doing the splits at a party. Yeah, the backyard party, the barbecue. She was trying to show off and say that she could do the splits just like back in high school. And um, no, apparently not. Poor dear. Yeah, she told us that story, and we were all just trying so hard not to laugh. And she's like, oh no, it is funny.
SPEAKER_00But yeah. Yeah. These are the party accidents that occur. Um there was a recent thing uh last Christmas where there was uh a whole bunch of students running around um in the underwear downtown. Oh, as you do, and as they do, and then um this one unfortunate young man tripped on the curb, went flat on his face in the road, and he broke his nose. And he's standing there in his little underpants and uh tiny whitey. Well, yes, and um you know, right there party accidents saying, Oh yeah, I can drink that beer, oh yeah, I can do the what the yard of ale. I don't know what they call it in Canada, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, yeah, I think that we still call it that. It's yeah, yeah. A yard, yeah. A meter of ale doesn't satisfy I mean, even though it's technically the same. It's uh you just don't see them.
SPEAKER_00Yards longer is there, bigger. Yes. Okay, well. Yeah, so that's the sort of thing that occurred there. And then we go to Mars. Now, Mars is one of the principal planets associated with accidents. Yes. As the planet of action, speed, courage, and aggression, Mars rules cuts, burns, bruises, inflammation, and physical injuries. Yeah. This is when you're chopping that cucumber and you cut your finger. That's Mars. Yeah. Accidents with knives. Yep. And when Mars is under stress in your charge, it can manifest as impatience, haste, or unnecessary risk taking. Yeah. I want to talk about road rage here because you're you're you're in command of your vehicle.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Or your motorbike or your jet ski or your.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and there's that physical thing that um that we have when we're driving a vehicle or when we're we're in a even a plane, and you feel like the vehicle is an extension of your body. So any insult to the vehicle, you feel like that's a personal attack on you. So if someone cuts you off, you feel this rush of adrenaline and rage that you uh, if you're not careful, can um that's an interesting phenomenon forced to retaliate.
SPEAKER_00It's as though your aura extends to the size of your vehicle. 100%. Yeah. You think, what are you doing in my space?
SPEAKER_02And that's what I wonder if airline pilots, like commercial pilots, I mean, yeah, of course they would, right? Yeah. Their whole body would be the the plane. Oh. Sully Sully is even more of a hero in my mind now that I think of it that way. A miracle in the Hudson. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So typical Mars accidents include uh cuts from knives and tools, um, sports injuries, definitely, vehicle accidents caused by excessive speed, and workplace injuries involving machinery. This is where you put your machine your hands through the chopping machine or the meat packing machine or the I don't know what machines, because back in the day when they were using those weaving machines and people would use lose a finger, lose a limb.
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh. I went to art school and um we in in junior not junior year, like freshman year, like we were first year in in art school and uh the sculpture class was um was relegated to the wood shop because all the other classrooms were taken. I guess it was a big, you know, first year. Anyway, long story short, literally the first week in the wood shop, we were all trying to like figure out some art project we could do. I had this block of cedar that I was trying to turn into a head, and uh it was just you know, I was just chiseling away at this thing for weeks. But this one girl decided that she was gonna use this like band saw and cut off the tip of her finger for a story. Like as an artist, like we were all just horrified that this could happen. Yeah, yeah. I mean, they I think they reattached it, she was fine, but like what a way to start the school.
SPEAKER_00I know, I know. No, and talking about that, when I was in high school, we I would do I had a class called fitting and machining theory. What? I know it's about using a lathe and this and that, and it's like the wood chuck shop. And the teacher the first day he said, he said to the class, he said, raise the hand you want to keep. So everybody raised their hand, and then he said, Now put it behind your back and never use it in this classroom. Ow! And he's and that's what he said.
SPEAKER_02Put it, yeah. And you remember that decades later, because that is an amazing line. What a teacher.
SPEAKER_00Yes, and it really does apply to what you're doing. If you're changing a wheel, raise the hand you want to keep and just put it behind your back because it's coming off if you're not careful. That's amazing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That'll come up later in this conversation, I guarantee you. Wow. Okay. Good guy.
SPEAKER_00So in your nettle chart, then a well-aspected Mars gives courage and quick reactions, while a heavily challenged Mars may indicate impulsive behavior.
SPEAKER_02And the the failure to be resilient and react quickly enough to prevent the accident, because that is another thing. And I mean, not to not to brag at all, but as we've talked about in the past, I I do a lot of fitness stuff. And the importance of having just core strength to be able to recover when something does happen is so important. And I thank my my my discipline and whatever every day, because there are so many times where you just you just catch yourself and you're like, Oh, that could have been a disaster, you know? You just narrowly miss falling and hitting your head on something in the bathroom, or you near you trip and you catch yourself and you're like, oh, that could have been, you know, the guy faceplanting on the curb, like yes, every day. Yeah. Yeah. And and so many times these things are just like it narrowly you miss it. And yeah, so a well-aspected Mars for sure. Yeah, maybe Mars aspecting um you know Saturn or the Sun in a positive way could be a very preventative um thing to look in your chart. And maybe you know, you'll see, like, oh wow, that's why I've been so lucky, or maybe that's why you've been so unlucky if you if your Mars is afflicted. Or maybe square Saturn or something. Well, I was gonna say, let's or something.
SPEAKER_00Let's define what do we what do we mean when we say a heavily afflicted Mars? Yeah. It's a Mars that's got squares and oppositions to it from the malefics and the hardest. Yeah, Uranus square box. Uranus.
SPEAKER_02Pluto square box. Yeah, absolutely.
SPEAKER_00And that that that is good, and this is why if it's in your nasal chart, you repeatedly break your the same arm or you repeatedly sprain the same ankle. Yeah. Because it's in your chart. Or you have an accident on your car. Yeah, yeah. And you drive into a tree and you do it with every car you've ever owned because it's in your chart. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Totally. And and I mean, we've talked to before just about like the aggressive air uh aspect of Mars and how Mars maybe square your sun, could be like you're constantly getting into fights with people or or drawing aggression from people, and you're like, why am I constantly, why are people picking fights with me all the time? And you might not be the one picking the fight, but if you have that aspect to Mars, there's something about you that does attract that aggression, that that energy from other people or from the universe.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you're getting a punch on the nose in the bar because you keep doing the same wrong place, wrong time, or whatever, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Or maybe you're a hero. I mean, that could be a thing too. Heroes get punched in the face all the time. If you're standing up for, you know, some the rights of the underdog. Yeah, exactly. Expect to get punched in the face, but for the right, for the right reasons sometimes.
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah. So this is why you would want to just check out your Mars. Check out your Mars. Yeah, yeah. Okay, so then let's move along. So Jupiter. Yeah. Jupiter's generally considered a protective implement. Although it can encourage overconfidence and excessive optimism, Jupiter frequently appears in accident charts where the outcome is less severe than I expected. Oh, nice. Yeah. The greater benefic often signifies timely help, skilled medical care, and fortunate circumstances that reduce the impact of the event. So even though you may have been run over by a bus, if you got your Jupiter well aspected, the ambulance appears, the Good Samaritans on the spot. You're not just crushed to a pulp. Right. And you're you're fortunate to be in a place where you're getting attention that you need immediately. That golden hour they talk about, don't they? For sure, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Or a skiing accident, but then the you know, someone sees you and the avalanche comes. Yeah, avalanche, but they they actually dig you out right away. And yeah. Yeah, move.
SPEAKER_00With one of those great big St. Bernard dogs with a barrel of brandy on them.
SPEAKER_02I love those dogs.
SPEAKER_00St. Bernard, I should say.
SPEAKER_02We had one when I was a little kid named George.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So let's have a look at Saturn. So, yes, here we go. Saturn rules your bones, structure, and physical limitations. So this is it. It is less often the cause of an accident than the planet describing its consequences. Saturn is associated with fractures of bones, falls, chronic injuries, and lengthy periods of recovery.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So typical Saturn-related injuries include broken bones, falls onto hard surfaces when you land on the concrete, joint injuries, and long rehabilitation periods. Yeah. Saturn suggests that healing sometimes requires patience and persistence. Now we saw this 100 years ago when they when the when the boys came back from the First World War, and there was we just didn't have all the equipment, and they had to lie there in the recovery wards on their crutches for weeks because in the in these re in these rehab places where you're trying to, and people who've like broken their pelvis, they kind of have to learn how to uh walk again. And if you cracked your skull open, maybe they have to put a plate in. And it's anything if you have a broken bone, it generally is satin.
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh. That I had a friend who um when she was 21, I think, maybe. No, we met her when she was 21. She was 18 when she had this accident, and she had lived in um she's from Canada, but she lived in South Africa for a bit. Or was visiting South Africa, visiting a friend, whatever. Anyway, she ended up living there, unfortunately, for half a year because she was in a terrible motorcycle accident, was wearing a helmet, but it came off. And uh later on, like years later, she went back to settle settle the case, right? And she had brain damage. She had to re-relearn how to walk, how to talk everything. At the age of uh, I think she was either 18 or 16 when it happened. And um and they lived there for six months while she was recovering. And when they found the helmet and they gave it to her at the end of this trial that she went back to settle when she was like, you know, 20, um, it was cracked, like open, like there was a hole in this helmet. I'm like, oh and she kept it because you know, I mean you just don't throw a talisman like that away, right? Yes, yes. But like horrific, horrific. And uh yeah, she was never quite the same. But we know we met her when she was 21, so she may have, you know. Clearly.
SPEAKER_00But uh, but yeah, like I know there used to be an advert in South Africa from some neurosurgeon and he and hit the advert was I see a lot of people who've been in motorcycle accidents, but they never see me. Oh yeah, yeah. Because that really is, you know, you're either getting run over by a bus or you get anyway. Yep, yeah. But again, as what we're saying, is if Saturn's involved, there is a long rehabilitation and it may take years because Saturn rules time, right? Yeah, yeah. Um, and then if we look at Uranus, now this is really the usual suspect. Yeah. Good old Uranus. Yeah. Uranus is the planet of sudden and unexpected events. It is one of the strongest accident indicators because it represents disruption, shock, and surprise. Typical Uranian accidents include falls, electrical accidents, aviation accidents, sudden mechanical failures like the roller coaster and your cart coming off on the thing. Oh my gosh. And unexpected fractures, which is I mean, every accident. Yeah, it's unexpected, but still. Yeah. But Uranus often describes how quickly an incident occurs rather than how serious it becomes, which is more a Saturn thing. Yeah. So again, this is of all because um Uranus rules breaks. Yeah. So it's breaks, breakups, and break downs, but breaks of bones. Um and if you are, and of course, Uranus rules ankles, which we'll get to later. Okay. Yeah. And um, of course, you need to know which part of the human body the each planet rules, because each planet rules a different part. We could have mentioned that earlier, but anyway. But Uranus is definitely the ankle person. And um, yeah, so unexpected accidents, which that or unexpected hospitalizations, Uranus in the 12th house.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I love that though, that there's a technological aspect to it. So that's really an interesting thing to look for to.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. Yeah, and then we have Neptune. Let's look at that. So uh Neptune's rolling accidents is usually indirect. Let me guess, when someone's wasted. It's associated with confusion, poor visibility, fatigue, intoxication. Yeah, there you go. Medications or situations where awareness is reduced. Yeah. Examples include accidents in the fog. Yeah. Oh. Water-related incidents. Oh my gosh, of course. Oh. Medication errors. Did I take my Tylenol? No, let me take it again, and things like that. Driving while exhausted and slips caused by inattention. Neptune remind us that unclear conditions can increase risk. Yep, totally. So this is it. I mean, who drives in the fog? Well, if you're in living Canada, you do. Who drives in a wide-out snowstorm? If you live in Canada, you do.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. You know. Yeah. Oh gosh. And then this because Neptune also rules film, like the movies. And this suddenly it just occurs to me those those horrible accidents that happen on film sets, where a gun that's supposed to be uh just blanks or whatever will actually include live fire. Um like Brandon Lee, or like the Alec Baldwin incident that happened uh just a couple of years ago. stunt people are I mean you're obviously putting yourself in danger all the time in your job if you're a stunt person but but if the if if there's something that's not uh done properly in the course of of film confusion confusion or like a lack of chain of command with like whose responsibility is the are the firearms on the set or yeah and it also rules you know like liquids so it's like if you say shall I drink that um Kool-Aid or is it just bleach? And things that are incorrectly labeled in your kitchen cupboard and you you're you're you're chugging down some drain cleaner or whatever it is Yeah or you know God forbid you're prescribed something that creates a bad reaction and that happens a lot a lot actually.
SPEAKER_00Yes yeah so there is that too so and you know honestly if you're in a hospital there's not much you can do about it if they're prescribing you X, Y, and Z. But these are the accidents that can occur where they miss, they give too much oxygen to a newborn or something like that. Yeah or anyway Yeah. And then we have our friend Pluto. So Pluto is associated with profound transformation as we know in as a general sense. So when involving accident signatures it may indicate an event that changes the course of a person's life. Yep yeah Pluto often appears in charts involving major surgery intensive rehabilitation or experiences that permanently alter one's outlook. Yeah um equally important Pluto symbolizes resilience regeneration and the capacity to rebuild after adversity. Yeah I love it. So hopefully if you know Pluto is part of an accident signature it will be traumatic and you will be changed from it. Maybe you decide I'm never driving a car again. Right.
SPEAKER_02Or um or you become an advocate for for whatever the cause is that that maybe happened. Yeah exactly for reform in in you know highway maintenance if it is you know there's maybe a bridge collapse or something and you you suddenly become an advocate for um infrastructure reform or whatever.
SPEAKER_00So in that way it's it's a good thing. But these are not immediate um you don't see these things immediately they develop over time this transformation within yourself that comes forward like that. I knew another most unfortunate man when we lived in Cape Town and he was driving his car and he'd got his wife and his mother and his daughter in the car and they had an accident and unfortunately all the three they died and he lived and he was never the same again. Oh of course wow so um would hope that by now he's managed to transform um himself in some way but that is totally traumatic. Okay when you talk about traumatic accidents rather than I just got run over by a bus or knocked off my bicycle that's one thing but these these life changing life and death things are uh very significant yeah you know yeah definitely yeah and I've got some thoughts on Chiron too I was hoping we would get to Chiron yeah so Chiron is associated with wounds healing and the wisdom that comes through suffering yeah although it's not traditionally considered an accident significator Chiron frequently appears in the charts of people whose injuries become important turning points in their lives. Love it yeah a Chiron connection may indicate an injury that leaves a lasting physical or emotional mark a vulnerability that requires ongoing care or rehabilitation a life changing event that leads to greater compassion or understanding and the process of healing after trauma. Yeah yeah yeah because say for instance you come off your motorbike and you've got all these these burns on your um body the wound healing where they're just lying there they can't even move for the pain and eventually your skin will heal and scab up and change but that is the chiron that is the long Yeah and the skin is is uh it's stronger where you've less yeah it's tougher and uh it's different. Yeah yeah but that's more to do with the healing of not only the physical wound but the the mental wound that went with whatever went down at the time. Totally so each of these um planets do indicate they have some role to play within the the story of the accident. Yeah so we've had a look at the planets and how they may um be participants in accidents but let's just look a little bit beyond that to a couple of the main houses that are indicating for um accidents. So um the first house represents your physical body yeah if your body gets damaged the first house is frequently involved um your sixth house is relates to health in general and health where you will recover from it like a broken bone you will recover. The eighth house is associated with the crisis and the transformation psychologically that came around about that accident, how upset you got. Yeah and then the 12th house is linked with hospitals and this periods of confinement where you have to lie in bed to just recover. You have to just bed rest. Yeah yeah yeah you know totally it's like after you've had a kid you're lying there you've got to recover right um and then regarding aspects so particularly squares and oppositions are indicators that that activities are occurring. Yeah yes so it wouldn't be triangles sextiles involved here and then so first you would look at your transits what's coming up um then progression solar arc directions and the condition of the chart roller because that will have a lot to actually uh say but uh generally a difficult and transit does not guarantee an accident not that we want to guarantee one but it's going to a difficult transit is going to show change in your life yeah definitely and through accidents this this frequently occurs right yeah absolutely mm-hmm in general if uh in from my point of view to me it's Mars and Uranus that really are the usual suspects when when um accidents occurred Mars describes the action that leads to the injury while Uranus signifies the sudden unexpected event that occurs. Because we don't expect to get up in the morning and have an accident Saturn often represents the lasting consequences Neptune the role of confusion or diminished awareness and Pluto the transformative transformative impact and Mercury the circumstances surrounding the movement and travel. Yeah whereas the benefits which are Jupiter and Venus generally offer protection. So you know if they're on the scene and the sun as well they're on the scene it's likely to be less of a trauma for you. Yeah yeah so you do need to look at um many factors when considering this and not just oh you're going to have a car accident next Wednesday we don't want to do that at all. So Armin and I we've actually got four people's um charts where we're going to be talking about particular accidents that happened to them.
SPEAKER_02Yeah we have two uh famous people celebrities and then we have two people right under our noses who we're going to be having a look at yes now the first chart we we have we have thought to discuss was um the writer Stephen King yeah now Google says he is the most famous writer on the planet I believe it he was the very first novelist I ever read a full adult book is that right yeah Firestarter where it was like I was in fifth grade yeah yeah so he's a little bit he's just one of your writers I can't read his books I know the movies yeah the first first like you know grown grown up book I ever read was the was Firestarter when I was like 10. And then you know the movie obviously was free.
SPEAKER_00So let me just give you his birth data so you could cast this chart if you were interested. So it's 130am September the 21st 1947 Portland Maine USA that returns an ascendant of cancer the sun is in Virgo and the moon is in Sagittarius. So we do have his chart we've used him previously in the past because he's got such an interesting chart. He's such a good Virgo writer example because he absolutely is absolutely so he had this massive accident yeah and um as I understand it he's written about this in his book on writing he was walking along I've got the details the shoulder of Route 5 when he was struck by a Dodge caravan driven by some guy called Brian Edwin Smith. The driver became distracted by an unrestrained dog moving around in the back of his vehicle so King suffered life-threatening injuries including a collapsed lung multiple fractures to his right leg and hip and a scalp laceration he underwent several surgeries and faced a long recovery so this accident occurred for him I'll give you the details because we do have the chart it's 440 pm June 19th 1999 in a place called North Lovell Maine USA or is it Laval I'm not sure yeah yeah and um if you click through to the blog post we do actually have the bywheel of this chart with it King's chart in the middle and the actual accident on the outside but there are two main transits that pop out in this chart and the first one is Pluto is squaring Pluto. Wow oh wow so our yikes and that's one you could see coming you could look and be like hmm got a square Pluto coming up solid solid solid indicator and not only that Pluto is square Saturn. Wow so that um again it's not just you're not just gonna say oh he's gonna have an accident what you are going to say there's going to be life chaining transformative term recovery about it. And it took him like over a year he was saying to actually uh get back to normal from that one. Yeah wow so um I actually didn't even know he'd had this accident so until I read his book. The only book I've read by Stephen King is his book about it's called On Writing How he writes fantastic because all his other books like Carrie in that I find them just too disturbing I can't read them or watch the video. No at all it keeps me awake at night. Yeah yeah so um so because we because it was so well documented we do as astrologers are fortunate to have this detail definitely and as I say there's only the two that's really popping out the Pluto square Pluto that's a a big one we don't not everyone gets that and then Pluto square Saturn.
SPEAKER_02Yeah yeah I mean that says it all right there and it's really interesting too that that such a a writer who is focused so much on the dark side and transformation and death and you know all of these sort of that's the subject matter. I mean you know he he wrote misery as a as a result of you know feeling uh like the the um the sinister you know effect of fans who would like write to him and and be obsessed and crazy you know and uh really yeah yeah I I imagine he attracts a particular type of audience right so if he's gonna have like a life changing accident the I would expect Pluto to be heavily involved and that is uh that it doesn't disappoint.
SPEAKER_00It's huge isn't it that is absolutely huge. Super interesting so so that's uh that's kind of interesting there and um his natal Pluto is in um 14 Leo and and it conjoins that and and then the transiting Pluto at the time was at 15 Scorpio. So yeah there you go boom boom right yeah interesting yeah um the next chart we're going to look at is our is our very own Arwen hello and um you can click through and the the birth date is there so she's got the ascendant Scorpio Sun Virgo Moon Virgo now Arwen had an accident I'm gonna give you the details because we have it and then she can tell us a little bit about it.
SPEAKER_02At 532 pm on the 27th of May 2026 Vancouver Canada so that was like what three months ago yeah and that's what prompted us to even say let's discuss this yeah do you want to tell us how it all went down yeah yeah I was uh I was it was after work it was a sunny day it was one of the you know it was right in the beginning of summer so obviously I'm gonna be out roller skating with my friend um we skate around the around downtown Vancouver uh she lives just you know maybe 10 blocks away in in a adjacent neighborhood we skate around the the seawall we skate around you know up and down some hills um around Granville Island which is a you know kind of a big sort of uh cool shopping touristy sort of area and then we skate over a couple of different bridges uh the Barad Bridge and and uh you know whatnot anyway it was just at the beginning of our skate and we were going around Science World which is obviously a very popular tourist attraction as well and since it was around 5 30 it was kind of um it was a bit of an afterwork rush so there's always bikers there's always you know pedestrians and kids because science world is is one of these like it's a it's an attraction families go there dogs etc etc yeah and there's this one intersection which is just at the entrance of of this area and um and we have to we have to turn off because there's part of it that's not paved properly. It's like they made they made really nice bike lanes everywhere in Vancouver has beautiful you know very skate in the bike lane. We skate in the bike lane okay yeah and you know unless it's unless there's not a nice bike lane in which case we'll hop on the sidewalk and respectfully you know keep to the left etc etc or you know in the street there's bike lanes in the streets and we'll sometimes do that. But um and or if there's not we'll just skate carefully in the street. We're we're very practiced in but you're not in the road. Sometimes we're in the road but but this time no this time it was we were literally on a on a bike lane set the stage taking the you know the left turn off a off the bike lane to avoid this unpaved part that was just gravel. And we've done this dozens and dozens hundreds of times over the years right I've been skating since 2018 and it's actually shocking that I've never broken a bone until now because considering how active I am and considering that I you know skating is you skate fast and you're you know I've seen you I've fallen dozens of times and I've usually just bruised or gotten some road rash or you know fallen and and you know kind of fallen backwards and you know get huge bruises. But but this time I was wearing uh um what's the word wrist guards but they weren't robust wrist guards they were uh I dare say maybe child size or you know the Velcro was like kind of falling apart and not uh not good.
SPEAKER_00Just ornamental.
SPEAKER_02Where wear your good wrist guards. Yeah this is this is the lesson of of this whole thing. Anyway, I was just turning off of this lane and and fell backwards as I've done dozens of times and just fell hard on my left wrist extended to prevent my fall. It did not work and yeah and it I knew right away it was like just worse than normal right and my friend was skating behind me and she's like oh my god are you okay? Luckily I had an ice pack in my backpack because we were gonna post up on the beach and have a couple drinks afterwards like we always do. So I don't like a warm drink and I had a you know couple of ice packs to keep the drinks cold. As one does as one does yeah so I stopped and I put ice on it and uh and then we kept skating and you know we you get you know you have to get home right but we kept skating all the way around and I was just I was mad I was so mad I was you know just in enraged that this had happened and uh and I ended up writing to the city and saying like why is there this draft gravel pit you know like why why do we have to turn off at this incredibly dangerous intersection where all these cars and not cars sorry bikes and you know pedestrians and these messengers like these Uber Eats cars and everything like that they're all converging at this one little intersection like it's so dangerous. And apparently the answer is that um science world is built on a deck that is not uh it's not structurally really sound and so when they were repaving the bike lane there was this big 30 meter stretch that they just couldn't put a paver on because it doesn't uh they they it's not um it it won't hold the weight of a paver so it's like floating on the water with something yeah yeah like if you look at it from the side there's there's pillars like there's posts it's like a it's like a just a deck and that's who knew right exactly I mean it's pretty obvious when you come around the other side of it and you're looking at science world and you're like oh yeah of course it's a deck built out on the water but you don't think about it as you're skating or biking by. You just think oh I'm on the road or on the path. But no you're floating over water. So yeah that part was not paved and will not be paved and they eventually wrote back to me and were like yeah this is why I'm like great cool well here's my broken arm picture and you know so then what happened? Well then I yeah sorry went to the uh emergency room the next day I slept on it the next day well yeah I just yeah so I I slept on it thinking maybe it's just badly strained St. Paul's St. Paul's and I was waiting from eleven in the morning until I didn't get home until five. Yep. But yeah I came home in a cast and I was oh I was so miserable I was so sad. I just thought my summer was over fractured a bone yeah but it was not displaced it was not twisted it wasn't uh spiral fracture it wasn't the tibia it wasn't anything bad it was actually the most minor fracture they could have and still can I mean you know the the guy was just the guy was actually really sweet the doctor he he said uh he wrote his uh dissertation on rollerblading injuries back in the 90s when he first started to be a doctor and I was like well I'm sure you've seen this a lot then he's like you'll be fine um and I am fine uh six weeks later you know I got a waterproof cast I got a purple cast so it matched all my stuff and got a manicure to match the you know the cast off a few days later to just whatever um I was miserable and unhappy but uh you know were you in pain or very much so the first day okay but honestly after that not really it was just it was just annoying annoying annoying uncomfortable inconvenient I couldn't skate the whole time which was the biggest you know challenge was like my friend going skating without me and you know beautiful sunny days going by and I'm just indoors but I kept going to the gym I actually asked Chat GBT like how can I stay you know like fit I can't do nothing you know and it was like well obviously you can continue doing the stairs which is you know going up the stairs in our building which is something I do in the winter um and and it said you know you can continue to work out your not injured arm like do all of the stuff that you do like with the dumbbells or whatever just use your right hand and not your left hand and or you can do go through the motions with your left hand as much as you can but don't hold any weight in it. And I thought is that true? And I had to get a second opinion I googled it and it's yeah apparently that is very much true. You you prevent muscle loss and atrophy if you continue you know staying active with the with the body parts you can so yeah this is a minor injury it was my first break my only break let's put it that way the only 15 by doing well yeah exactly but uh but yeah it was a setback and um and uh something to learn let's let's check the chart let's look at the chart exactly yeah so we have actually looked at this chart and as I say if you click through the blog post you can see the bywheel there so there are two major transits I don't know if you're aware of these Pluto was squaring Mars.
SPEAKER_00Okay and Uranus is squaring Mercury well there you go I was moving yeah I was moving fast and breaking things actually I had slowed down that was the that was it was in your local area yeah so um as I say I just picked out the two main ones obviously there's more stuff when you had bruising I remember there was a quite a quite a quite a bruise on your thigh um and in a cast for six weeks so you were immobilized as well but the two main transits occurring there at that time was the Pluto squaring Mars. Now we've heard about Pluto already tonight yeah and uh you ran the square Mercury. Yeah and you were annoyed I know you were because you wrote an article about it.
SPEAKER_02I did yeah annoyed our one was you can check out MsPink.net and you can find my whole article about it and how annoyed I was and the picture of that the infamous uh the cast and the the hip burn.
SPEAKER_00Yeah road rash road rash exactly yeah the hip rash that was that was it yeah yeah so I'm sorry that happened to you and I know you were quite frustrated at the time but anyway that's what inspired us to do this astrology of accidents episode even though it's like three months ago because we we do record ahead of time and that's why we've just got around to it now. Yeah so then moving on yeah we're now looking at your mom. Yep. So uh Shannon's chart so she came to Vancouver and had an accident while she was here.
SPEAKER_02Do you want to do you want to tell us a little bit about a little bit yep this is a much simpler story. This is last year we were um just going out to get a a poke ball which uh it was delicious uh restaurant yeah restaurant across the street and it was raining and we were walking down the stairs there's like five steps that go in down down into this restaurant it was just you know normal thing and all of a sudden she slips behind me and I look around and she's caught yeah just slips on the stairs and and caught herself with her left hand just like I did skating like reach behind her as you do because she was even uh grasping onto the railing with her right hand but just feet went out from under her fell on her left wrist and uh she was not so lucky it was a a a bad fracture it was and she was obviously up here in Canada where she's from the US and so going to the hospital was not really an option because of insurance and all that stuff. Okay. So she had to wait and you know ice it and and basically um stay sort of immobilized and and hope that it got better enough that she could even drive home because we were thinking like how are we going to get her home? Like her car is up here. Like even if we drove her home how would she get her car back? And so yeah it was uh it was quite a thing. Yeah so she basically had to um just drive home in you know blinding pain uh two days later and by the time she got home trooper yeah by the time she got like across the border to get to a the you know urgent care whatever clinic there um it had healed just enough that and I don't want to gross anyone out here, but they had to use this thing that they basically hang your wrist from the fingers and they sort of stretch the bone out to uh it's not re breaking, but it's basically tensioning it. Tensioning it so that and that was even not good enough to to reset it. They ended up having to, after um, I think a few weeks in in the cast, I'm not sure of the exact dates here, but they uh did have to go in and do surgery and put a metal pin in her wrist. So yeah. Again with the wrist. So now she's perfectly bionic. She's got the two uh artificial hips and now uh uh metal pin in her wrist. Airport security is gonna love her.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but it's titanium, so it doesn't go, it doesn't sound like a little bit. Oh, is that true? Is that true? Amazing, amazing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, so that was a lot of pain, a lot of recovery time, and um and just a sudden, incredibly unfortunate thing.
SPEAKER_00She's a mature lady, let's be honest. This is not a swing chicken, whatever.
SPEAKER_02No, no, I mean she's my mother, so yeah, she's gonna be, you know, a little older than me. Yeah, an appropriate number of years older than me. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So having looked at her chart and the actual chart of the uh accident on the bywheel, there are a couple of transits I'm just gonna talk about. Yeah. Uranus is square Pluto.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you know, it's the bad boys again, right? Now we do have Pluto sextile Jupiter, which meant that really she was strong enough that she could um go home. She didn't immediately have to go into hospital. Right, right. Right. Jupiter was involved, that's what we said earlier. Um, and then we have Pluto's sextile the sun, so hopefully that resilience kicked in eventually for her. Definitely. And we've got Chiron trying Pluto. Yeah. So the only challenging aspect was well, you only need one, Uranus, square, Pluto. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02And that's one of those at the one of those transits where it's it's it's a lengthier one, too. So there was a wide period in where it would have been in orb where had she known ahead of time to, but I'm you know, you can't be careful of everything. You can't like how do you how do you not go down the stairs to a restaurant?
SPEAKER_00Like, yeah, well, I love that place. I I was in there this morning. It's fantastic. It's my it's my go-to once a weekend. That's wonderful. Yeah, yeah. So yeah, so that's unfortunate, but now she was fully on the men.
SPEAKER_02Fully on the men, yeah. And she's actually showed me some you know gym uh exercises to do, and you know, so she's fully recovered. She she can do all the things, she can, you know, wow, that is great.
SPEAKER_00That's good to know. That's good to know. Yeah. So, as I say, on the blog post, we do have the bywheel of the actual accident against the natal chart and some main details there. If you'd like to go and have a look at that as our listeners, yeah. But then, but that's not all. The story continues, the saga goes on. Yeah. So last week, tell us what happened.
SPEAKER_02My mother had actually planned to come up this weekend and record this episode with us. Yes. We were gonna have her as a guest star talking about her injury, and that was gonna be fun and exciting, as it, you know, would have been. And she ended up breaking her ankle last week. Last week, just before uh she came up here or could come up here. She obviously cannot come up here. She's in a in a so she can't drive.
SPEAKER_00So tell us what happened.
SPEAKER_02Well, she can drive, actually, because it was her left ankle. So she doesn't uh she she drives a what's the word? An automatic. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So as she says, the left leg is just it's just dead weight anyway in the car. So yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's it's you know, it's in a boot. It's in a, as she calls it, the big ugly boot. And um it's one of those big, you know, with the velcro and the whatnot. So what happened? Yeah, so she was just literally getting out of her car in a tight spot in the Costco parking lot, as you know, just one of these in-your neighborhood freak accident type of things, and was wearing um sandals, but not, you know, not bad sandals, no, not flip-flops, exactly. But was twisting to kind of th there was someone parked too close to her because she was leaving and she was trying to get into the car, and as she's trying to get into the car, she twisted her ankle uh very badly and heard a snap and was like, Oh no.
SPEAKER_00That's how you know when it's gone. Yeah, that happened with my wrist. I heard it snap. I knew it. Yeah, so she so now she's now went to the hospital.
SPEAKER_02And yeah, in a in a has she got a pin in the ankle or no? No, no, no, no, no surgery required. It was not uh it was not a displaced fracture, so it was probably similar to my wrist, uh, and you know, a minor fracture, not as bad as her wrist breaking last year.
SPEAKER_00But yeah, yeah. So again, this was new, this was like last week because as we say, someone was gonna come and join us to uh record this particular accident episode, and lo and behold, she couldn't make it. So I did actually cast this chart as well, and I've got her, I've got her chart in the natal chart in the centre, and the second accident on the um outside, and there's really only one major aspect at this point of this particular aspect, and it is Uranus' opposition, her son. Oh boy. Yeah, this is an aspect that I mean it's quite tight, it's zero degrees 59 separating. Wow. So it's gonna be an orb for a little while, however, it is challenging her vitality, her her health, and it's another sudden, unexpectedly out of the blue, minding your own business. Yeah, snapping something off. Yeah. Yeah. So we I I couldn't believe it when Arwen texted me and said, No, my mom can't make it. She's broken another. I thought, good grief. And we're all we're trying to do is record an accident episode. So we're lucky to have made it ourselves to this event today.
SPEAKER_01Right, I know.
SPEAKER_00Into our recording, yeah. Yeah. Create a studio. So yeah, that's the only one I could find. Uranus opposition sun. Yeah. Tough one, that one, in many ways. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02The interesting thing, and you know, I'm not gonna get into this too much because it's one of those weird things where I mean, I'm not the strangely, because I do an astrology podcast, I don't believe, you know, the kind of everything happens for a reason. That that's almost like a blaming the victim thing sometimes. But what is interesting is looking back and seeing, like, okay, when something like this happens and it prevents you from doing something, what could have happened if you hadn't had that accident? And this weekend I was also filming. Um, if you go to my blog, you will see some uh stories about this, uh, this mermaid sort of siren on the beach burlesque thing with Melody Mangler and a bunch of other uh dancers. And we decided to film, Melody decided that we were filming at Wreck Beach, which if you are in Vancouver, you know what that is, and if you don't, then it is 450 stairs winding down uh beachy wooden sandy stairs with a railing, but you know, a very long staircase winding down to a very rocky beach that then parts weighs into an amazing sandy, gorgeous beach. And but it's incredibly challenging terrain. And I honestly didn't realize how challenging it was until after this, you know, accident happened, and she was very disappointed she couldn't come up for it. But when I was descending those stairs, I was filming it for her because she was so disappointed to have missed it. I I filmed the descent, and even that was like when she saw the video, she immediately was like, Oh, thank God I did not come up there. And the the day just progressed to be, you know, every single part of the day was just like another indication of like how horrible it would have been if something had happened that day. Because anything could have happened on the stairs on the way down, the stairs on the way up are incredibly challenging and treacherous if you're if you're not you know very, very sure-footed. And the terrain on the rocks to get to the secluded beach away, incredibly challenging. Barnacles, wet sand, wet rocks, moss. It was, you know, challenging enough for all of us, you know, dancers to be frolicking around on the rocks. My calves are so sore today after all of the uh dancing in the shore and frolicking on these, you know, incredibly slippery rocks and and the stairs. So um yeah, I as as awful as it is to say, I am very glad she did not come up with us because that, or down and you know, into the beach, because anything could have happened and it would have been an absolute nightmare.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. Wow. Yeah, yeah. So that's that's what we have there for her, which is and we we are all wishing her the very speedy recovery. Absolutely, yeah, yeah. And then moving on to our fourth um example chart, we are talking about Christopher Reed.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And um, so his birth data is uh 3 12 p.m. 25th of September 1952, New York City, New York, USA, which is kind of interesting, it's the same birthday as my late husband. Oh wow. I know, because I I know his chart well. So for those of you who don't know Arwin, tell us who Christopher Reeves was. Well, Superman. He was He was the original.
SPEAKER_02Honestly, yeah. I mean, there were a few Supermans on TV before that, but he was the the 1970s Superman, and anyone who grew up in the um, you know, Generation X or baby boom generation or you know the the generations before that, he was our Superman.
SPEAKER_00And uh and a fantastic I mean he did have other uh other um roles as an actor, but he was really Superman was who he was.
SPEAKER_02Well known for that. Yeah, he was also in a few like really great, you know, TV movies and things like that. But uh yeah, so Superman for sure. And he was also uh a horseback rider and he was injured horseback riding famously. Um or not so famously, if it's quite a while ago. It happened in the 90s, and uh and I actually this is kind of an interesting um thing because I remembered that it happened in the 90s, but you know, when you look up a date of something, you you're not gonna find the time usually when something like this happens, unless it's like, you know, the challenger space shuttle disaster or something like that. There's like an actual, you know, to the second time. But um, I was able to not just sort of Google it, but get AI to sort of estimate. I said, okay, well, we can narrow it down to like what the afternoon. Well, let's see what the program was for the event. And so I'm asking, you know, ChatGBT to kind of let's dig deeper and find out like can we get within an hour? And so we got very, very close to what I think is the actual time of the accident, which was not published anywhere, but it's published now. It's published now. And we we are, I think, I mean you could call it rectification, but also um AI is very good at digging into it, you know, things that you wouldn't necessarily you can't find them published, but it did it did find the event and and how long each person um did their little horse course uh course, whatever the trials, exactly. And it said, okay, well he was in the middle of this, you know, whatever, whatever trial, and therefore it would have happened between this hour and this hour, and so we've rectified the uh the event to and you hear it, you heard it first here.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. So the accident chart details are 3 24 p.m. and it's May the 27th, 1995, in a place called Culpepper, Virginia, USA.
SPEAKER_02I used to live right around the corner from there in Charlottesville. Is that right?
SPEAKER_00Did you call it Culpepper, yeah? Culpepper, yeah. Wow, because I mean he was a famous uh astrologer back in the day at Culpepper. Oh yeah. Anyway, so he was out there um horse riding. So I do have on the blog post I've got his, I've got Reeves' natal chart in the centre, I've got the accident chart on the outside, and I've got two major transits that I'm gonna share with you guys now. Okay, and the first one is give me a guess. What do you think? What do you think? I'm thinking Pluto. It's Pluto Square Pluto. Oh boy. This is the same one your mother had, is it not? Wow. And um Pluto is squaring Pluto Stephen King. Let's just have a yeah, Stephen King. Yeah, let's just have a look at that. So his Pluto was at 22 Leo, and then Pluto was at 29 Scorpio, which is slightly wide, but however, it was still squaring. And then Chiron Square Mars. Yeah. So this was a tough one because he came out of the accident in a bad way.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, 100%. Uh paralyzed from the neck down. Yes. Um, unable to in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. But he went on to become uh an incredible advocate for um safety, for recovery, for rehabilitation. And he never did get out of the wheelchair, but but and suddenly he passed, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So so that is but that is a very well-documented accident. That's why we chose it, not because we want to um depress everybody. No, no, no, yeah, yeah. So those are the four example charts we have for accidents that uh two from famous people, Stephen King and Christopher Reeve, and two from Arwen and her mom, because they just keep coming. And um, that's my last break. That's your last that's your last that's the final. First and last, yes, yeah, no more. So um, yeah, that those are the four example charts we've been talking about today. Yeah. Okay, so today we've been talking about the astrology of accidents and how you can't just look at a chart and say, oh, you're gonna break your leg here and there. We've been talking about how the different planets will will be participating in an accident that occurs and some of the houses and aspects that will be uh considered. Yeah. We've also uh given you some examples of uh four people, two super famous, two soon-to-be-famous people. No. And um, if you're interested in this, you can certainly participate too. And if you yourself have had an accident, if you um if you're an astrologer, make sure you've got the chart, calculate it back, uh, cast the chart and see what's going on. And um it's an interesting topic. It's not something I necessarily go to all the time, but it's interesting because you have a specific time when the accident occurred. So that's always a good thing you you have a chart for these things. Absolutely. Yeah. So if you have found value in this episode, please do consider sharing it with anybody who would be interested. Make sure you're getting our newsletter and you can sign up at starzoogy.com forward stroke newsletter. Additionally, make sure you're getting Arwen's newsletter and you can find Arwen at I'm at MsPink.net, M S P I N K, and I send out my weekly newsletter every Saturday.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00And great it is too. So if you're listening to us on Spotify or Apple Podcast, do consider giving us a five star review. If you're listening on YouTube, we'd love for your comments. You can write there as well and let us know about any accidents that may have occurred for you. Yeah. So to our listeners, thank you so much for getting this far, and we'll see you next time. See you next time.
