Michelle Gauthier:

Morning routines are great, but if you don't have time to do all the things in the morning, I have one game changer that you can do to change your whole day.

Michelle Gauthier:

You're listening to Overwhelmed Working Woman, the podcast that helps you be more calm and more productive by doing less. I'm your host, Michelle Gauthier, a former overwhelmed working woman and current life coach. On this show, we unpack the stress and pressure that today's working woman experiences and in each episode you'll get a strategy to bring more calm, ease and relaxation to your life.

Michelle Gauthier:

Hi, friend, thanks for joining today. Today we're going to be talking about the one thing that you can do in the morning, because I love a morning routine and getting up early to work out and all that stuff is great. But if you're having one of those mornings or you're a person who doesn't do a morning routine or anything special in the morning for yourself, try this one thing, which is changing your mindset, with using a mantra. I'm going to tell you exactly how to do it and I've made a really cool, fun freebie that is a bunch of mantras that you can choose from. I made them the size of like a phone save screen so that you can just download them and save it to your phone so you can see that mantra all day long. I will get into all of that in just a second, but I just want to remind you that I'm going to be opening group coaching soon. It's a 12-week program. I created this program for women who are feeling stressed and overwhelmed and if that sounds like you and you would love to be in the company of other women who are trying to change their life for the better, this might be perfect for you. So if you're interested, get on the waitlist now, and as soon as I open the group for registration, you'll be the first one to know. Also, I often offer a discount to the people who are on the waitlist. So get on the waitlist now.

Michelle Gauthier:

Okay, let's get back to mantras For the month of March. The mantra that I chose for myself is everything is always working out for me, and the reason that I chose that one in particular is I noticed myself having a thought of nothing is working. I know that thought isn't true, but it kept popping up in my brain, so I decided to choose something that was going to purposefully stretch my mind, to get me to the point that I was believing that everything is always working out for me. So if you find yourself super busy in the morning and you just are jumping out of bed or maybe lying in bed looking at your phone and catching up on Instagram and all the things, and then you find yourself rushed through the morning but you're never taking a pause to check on your mindset for the day, try this, try a morning mantra. Your thoughts in the first few minutes of the day can set the tone for everything that follows, and a simple mantra helps anchor your energy and your mindset for the day. Before the day even begins, I'll tell you what I do. The first thing that I do is I usually drink a little water, but then I get my athletic greens, which is like a shake with vitamins and whatnot in it. I get that all put together and I make myself drink that whole thing before I can have coffee. So I sit down with my athletic greens in my journal and then I write out the mantra for the day. So the one that I've been using this month is everything is always working out for me and I really think about the meaning of that sentence, and then I write down three pieces of evidence to support that that is true, and it can be something big, like

Michelle Gauthier:

just recently I was talking to my handsome man friend about how we'd love to go back to Costa Rica sometime and my sister and her husband have a house there, and her husband just randomly texted us out of the blue the other day and said hey, can you guys go to Costa Rica on such and such dates? And somehow, miraculously, this single mom was able to pull that off. It just worked out perfectly with my kids school and childcare and all those kinds of things. The plane tickets were cheaper than the ones I just bought to go to Phoenix. So everything is working out for me. That was a major everything is working out for me. A small everything is always working out for me. Was I remembered, before Walgreens closed, to call in a refill for a prescription instead of missing it until the next day? So it can be something really small or really big, but just write down evidence for how it's true.

Michelle Gauthier:

And then the second thing I write down is the idea that, even if it doesn't seem like it right now, everything is always working out for me. Let's just say I'm waiting to hear back from someone. Right now I'm working with someone on putting together group coaching for a company. So if I'm waiting to hear back from that person, I'll write that down and say I bet what's being worked out for me is that I'm going to hear back from that person. I'll write that down and say I bet what's being worked out for me is that I'm going to hear back from that person and we're going to come up with a plan. So I think about in the future, the things that are going to work out for me, and I've done this every day for the month of March and we're halfway through March right now and I can tell you that every single day that I've done this, I feel in such a great mood and feel like everything really is working out for me, and this whole process takes less than five minutes.

Michelle Gauthier:

If you don't have the five minutes to do all that writing, you can just take the mantra, look at it, say it out loud, write it down one time, have it on your phone screen so that you see it throughout the day. You can just focus on it for as much time as you can give yourself. So I recommend, if you really want to change your morning in the easiest way possible and that changes your whole entire day, pick a mantra and spend 30 seconds to five minutes every day and see how it shifts, the way that you're feeling. So, like I mentioned at the beginning of the episode, I created mantras that you can download and just save to your phone. So if you like the everything is always working out for me, you can totally use that one.

Michelle Gauthier:

But I have nine other options for you and they're sort of in various topics.

Michelle Gauthier:

So if that particular one doesn't excite you, you can do any other mantra, some of the other ones I have on this little digital deck of cards that you can keep on your phone are time is on my side, or I am worthy of rest, joy and success, or I bring positive energy into every space I enter, or money flows to me easily in both expected and unexpected ways.

Michelle Gauthier:

So, whatever you're struggling with or maybe you're struggling with none of those, but you just know it would put you in a great mood and a great mindset for the morning All you have to do is there's a link in the show notes that says send me a message. The message that you have to send me is just mantra. Just text me the word mantra or message me the word mantra, and you will automatically get this list of mantras that you can download, so that you can give this a try. Okay, that's a wrap for this week. Don't forget to get on the while you're there sending me a message. Don't forget to get on the wait list for group coaching. All right, see you next week.
