24. Why "Internet Manifestation Culture" Feels Off | give ͍receive

So heres the thing ... its been taken and manipulated in so many subtle ways that creates this looming feeling of shame about negative / more difficult emotions. There is this glamorization of healing, manifestation and prayer - if you ask and you sit in the "right" energy then you will receive - if you don't receive, its your fault for not being in the right energy.

So what does that look like a lot of the time (including for myself - for years!) I feared not being happy and being in a "positive" energy so deep in my subconscious that I pushed down my own difficult emotions until they couldn't be pushed down any longer. 
If we attach ourselves to the outcomes of the outside world we will be pulled in a million different directions at the mercy of what we receive, using it as a symbol of our own inner worth. Always trying to chase the next best thing instead of finding true peace with what you already have.
This doesn't mean you settle, it mean you're not chasing more with the hope it will make you happy or take away your anxiety. You go after more because life is worth living happily already.
