This week Jeremy is joined by the incredibly talented Sammy from Haram Doodles. Jeremy and Sammy are both Borgenicht Fellows and they chat about some of the similarities they experienced leaving high control religion. Sammy talks about her deconstruction from Islam and starting Haram Doodles as a way to practice joy in her art while creating a safe space for ExMuslims to connect. Sammy also talks about her work with Ex-Muslims International to end apostasy and blasphemy laws.
To learn more about Sammy and her work, head over to haramdoodles.com or follow her on Instagram. Follow this link to learn more about and support Ex-Muslims International, and head over to exmuslim.me to read others’ or share your story of leaving Islam. Support Sammy’s work directly at ko-fi.com/haramdoodles!
As always, Jeremy has all his practice info at Wellness with Jer, and you can find him on Instagram and YouTube. To show your love for the show you can pick up some merch! We appreciate support from likes, follows, and shares as well! None of my online work would be possible without my media maven Kenny, so check out their work as well at kenlingdesign.com
If you’re looking for community with fellow deconstructionists of the overculture then check out the retreat my great collaborator Emily and I are hosting Rest & Return: A Weekend for Soft Landings. This retreat is designed to let your nervous system settle and come back to yourself. It’s rest, grounding, and trauma-informed connection instead of more noise.
