Jenna Webb:

If you haven't planned a holiday sale for your art today's episode will help you cash. And it's not too late. And if you're already on top of it, today's show will give you tips and additional ways to ask for the sale and earn more income during this very popular buying time. I will walk you through exactly how I planned 2 last minute sales in my art business, this holiday season, and you can steal my strategies and implement them as quickly as today using five easy steps. You'll want to stay until the end of the show to understand the impact of making offers to a warm and a cold audience. A couple of super quick announcements before we dive in. We're still running a podcast prize cash, and you can win by reviewing the show five stars on apple podcast. We're drawing a winner from the next eight reviews when we reach 88. We will announce the winner. So if you love the show, pause it right now and leave your five-star review. Today's episode is coming to you as a bonus. And I never want you guys to miss an episode, so make sure you're following the show at the very top of. If you're watching on YouTube, which is a great way to absorb the podcast content, make sure you're subscribed and you've hit the notification bell. Every week on social media, I'm sharing tidbits from the show and key takeaways. So come follow me at Jenna Webb art on all the socials, Instagram Tik, TOK, YouTube Pinterest. That way you can save your favorite moments from the show and chat with me and ask questions. So I'm dropping this episode on cyber Monday, but the holidays have not hit. I prerecord shows when I'm being a good girl and I'm planning my content in advance. My holidays are going to be quite busy. And so when this hits your earbuds, I hope that you've had a safe holiday. I've hope it's not been too stressful and that you've really enjoyed it. And if you feel like you missed out on black Friday or small business Saturday, It's not too late to cash in on the holiday sales. We're going to take care of you today and you can still cash in. I live in Raleigh, North Carolina, and my family is coming to my house for Thanksgiving, but my mom is cooking. I don't know how that magically worked out. But then after that on black Friday, I'm going to visit an old family friend I haven't seen in decades. Oh my gosh. I can't wait. And then on Saturday we're going to visit my boyfriend's family. So we have so much going on for the holiday. It's going to be busy we're bringing our dogs. Wow. So everyone take a deep exhale for the holidays. I hope it was filled with love for you. So five easy steps to cash in on holiday art sales at the last minute. In step one, you're going to name your sale. And your sale is going to be a different name than the two examples I'm going to provide you based on timing, based on the holiday or anything you want to celebrate in your business. I'm going to walk you through the two examples that I use to plan last minute sales, but just know that you're going to repurpose the sales and make them relevant to you. So the first sale that I planned last minute was a Thanksgiving gratitude sale. At this time, I knew I had enough time to still ship original paintings in order for them to arrive by Christmas. I decided to give 15% off, which is plenty for an original painting. I don't believe in giving more off. So that was my prerogative. 15% off. Was the max. I never have sales ever. And I was sure to announce how rare the sale was. Also I made my Thanksgiving gratitude sale, a 48 hour flash sale. What's really important about making this 48 hour flash sale is that I was giving a deadline. Because a deadline gives people a sense of urgency and gives them a reason to make a decision. Because indecision leads to inaction. People simply won't take action if you don't give them a deadline or a reason. The next sale I planned very last minute was a birthday sale. So my birthday is coming up December the 10th. I wanted to time this with people in mind buying for the holidays. So I chose to offer a sale on digital products so that I would not be rushed to ship anything in time for the holidays. So when you are thinking about making offers in your business and you're timing them, With holidays. You have to think about yourself too, and what's going to be realistic for you to manage. So apart from my original paintings, I have. Prints and reproductions offered in a couple of different ways. I have worked with a local gicle printer. And I have. High quality prints. But I decided I don't even want to offer those in the sale. I want everything to be dropped, shipped to the customer for this particular sale, starting on December 10th. For people who are expecting that arrival before the holidays. So I want it all to be done digitally and I'm not stressed at all. Low stress. Is key for me and the way I operate my business because of my chronic migraines. And this is also great for the customer. I work with fine art America for my digital prints and products. So that's exactly where I'm offering the sale. My birthday sale is also a 48 hour flash sale. So the five easy steps for you to cash in on a holiday sale last minute. Number one, you're going to name your sale. So you can set up any offer you can dream up, you just call it. Whatever you want to call it. I named mine a Thanksgiving gratitude sale because that worked for the time. You can rename your offer for the upcoming holiday or anything special that you want to celebrate. But make it rare and special and let your customers know it's rare. Number two. I choose a timeframe for the sale and a deadline. We already talked about why a sense of urgency and a deadline is great for your customers to make a decision. Number three. Choose a discount or a special offer for your promotion. I suggest between 10 and 15%. Or you can offer something simple, like free shipping. You don't have to offer any percent off your beautiful original paintings at all. It's your prerogative girlfriend. Or guy, friend. just go with something simple, free shipping is something wonderful you can offer. Step four. Make the offer and use a hook. You need to write an attention grabbing subject line or hook for social media in order to grab the attention of your audience. This hook or the subject line. He has to grab their attention in a way that makes them want to open the email or look at your social media posts and. Spark curiosity and make them want to continue reading more. An example would be take 10% off my original paintings, 48 hours only. Another example for a subject line or a hook and your social media caption could be. Take 15% off my digital print shop. 48 hours only act now. So, what I implore you to do is send an email out today or get a social media post out today. Step number five. You must send out a reminder about your sale. So don't forget this step. People absolutely need reminders. We live in a digital age of busy, busy busy-ness. One and done is not effective. You can't simply throw an offer out there one time and expect a home run. So step five is to send a reminder out about your sale. You can say it ends today or last chance. Let's talk about why warm and cold audiences are so important. You were going to be so much more effective at running sales when you are selling to a warm audience. A warm audience is an audience who is following you. They're engaged with you. They're on your email list. They know you, they like you and they trust you. Really understanding that warm audience and getting them into your world is part of a larger strategy. I teach to my Artpreneur academy students. Because landing a sale to a cold audience or an audience who isn't familiar with, who you are. What your art is all about? And they aren't used to hearing your offers will be so much harder and almost impossible. People have to hear. An offer seven to 21 times for it to work. Keeping your audience warm and engaged is a strategy my students execute with ease in the Sell art on social system,so social media content planning, isn't dreadful, but it's fun and it's all done for you in minutes. Your content is planned for the month within four hours. And then you're done planning the content for the year within two weeks. That way you can focus on your art and building quality connections with your art buyers, because that is essential to selling your art and doing what you love long-term. Remember you miss 100% of the shots that you don't take. Running a holiday sale is great practice, no matter the temperature of your audience. So I encourage you to run a holiday sale at the last minute right now, no matter if your audience. Is cold, warm, lukewarm. I don't care. I want you to run a holiday sale using these five steps. Because no matter what, you're going to walk away with more knowledge and more confidence, and you're going to build your skills. And no matter whether you sell a lot or you sell nothing, you're going to walk away. That much smarter for the next sale you run. And with that much more experience. And I would love for you to tell me how it goes on social media. Drop into my comments, tag me in a post. Let me hear about it. There's only five weeks left until 2024. And right now is the time where you decide where exactly you and your art businesses are going to be at this time next year.
