Episode 16: Living the Standards of Behavior
At Nemours, the Standards of Behavior are our daily toolkit for interaction, providing ways to work together, disagree with each other, and provide care to our patients and families in a respectful, productive, and inclusive way. The Nemours Standards of Behavior are:
- Be in the moment
- Be authentic and humanistic
- Volunteer discretionary effort constantly
- Model high performance — desired behaviors that drive desired results
- Respect & leverage separate realities
- Be curious vs. judgemental
- Look in the mirror first – be accountable
- Have courageous conversations
- Provide timely, clear & specific performance expectations & feedback
- Teach, coach & mentor — spend at least half of your time developing others
So how are the Standards of Behavior a useful and living tool within the culture of Nemours? Mary Huntington and Jared Narlock discuss just that!
