Fiddly Chic W.O.C Podcast (Multiple Sclerosis /neurological disorder)
This podcast is about Women of colour living with neurological disorders, such as Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, strokes, stiff body syndrome, etc.
Fiddly Chic aims to create an awareness and understanding of the challenges, difficulties, and attitudes we often face.
It has been documented that people with MS from BME communities are hard to reach which often leads to isolation, compounded by ignorance, stigmatisation leading to a lack of services and facilities to support them.
We also experienced increased discrimination and prejudice within our communities which leaves a knock-on effect of isolation and rejection.
We aim to utilise this platform, time, and space, to discuss the impacts living with a neurological condition can have, not only on the one with the illness but also on their friends and family.
Disability of any type let alone MS which has no known cause or cure is seen as a taboo or curse so people shy away from talking about it we want to help change this mindset.
Additionally, we aim to create a space where W.O.C (or anyone), can share their own experiences without feeling judged, ruining someone else's day, or being a burden.
We aim to make this podcast relevant and informative, to anyone living with, or caring for, someone with a neurological condition.
