Jose Novo Matos

Jose is Principal Clinical Cardiologist at the University of Cambridge, UK. He is a European and RCVS Recognised Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology, and has worked in Portugal, Switzerland and now the UK in a range of private and academic clinical centres. He holds a Doctorate in feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and is recognised all over the world as an active clinical researcher in feline heart disease, whose work has helped to progress the understanding of heart disease in cats, and continues to develop our approach to cardiomyopathy. Jose's main areas of clinical and research interest are feline cardiomyopathies and echocardiography, but he is an active clinician in all aspects of companion animal cardiology and interventional surgery.

Kieran Borgeat

Kieran is an American, European and RCVS Recognised Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology, and is Clinical Director and Cardiology Lead at Eastcott Referrals in the UK, part of Linnaeus. He has spoken on five continents on a variety of cardiology topics, and trained vets from across the globe in how to perform minimally invasive vascular procedures. He has pioneered and refined the transpulmonic stent angioplasty procedure in dogs with complex pulmonic stenosis, now widely performed across Europe and the USA, and was the first vet in the UK to perform trans-catheter edge-to-edge repair in dogs with mitral valve disease. He is an active researcher, working on non-contact heart rate measurement in companion species, and is co-host of the leading veterinary cardiology podcast, the Animal Heartbeat. At home he is kept busy by his four children, a Cavapoo called Wookiee and a cat called Gordon.
