Welcome to Day 2 of the Stacking Balance: 21 Micro Shifts for Lasting Results challenge! Yesterday, we started by tackling notifications, giving you the space to focus. Today, we’re leaning into something counterintuitive but game-changing: becoming a quitter.

Balance isn’t about adding more—it’s about subtracting the things that don’t serve you. And sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is let go of something that just isn’t working.

Here’s a question for you: Are you stuck on page 158 of a book you think you’re “supposed to love” but secretly hate? Or maybe you’re forcing yourself to attend a workout class you dread every week? It’s time to quit. Life is too short for things that drain you when there are so many better options.

Today’s challenge is to identify and quit one thing that’s not working for you.

  • It could be a book you’re struggling to finish, a hobby that no longer brings you joy, or a recurring commitment you secretly resent.
  • Take five minutes to think about what’s weighing you down and let it go.

This isn’t just about quitting—it’s about freeing up your mental, emotional, and physical energy for things that matter. Researchers call this the Sunk Cost Fallacy—the tendency to keep investing in something just because we already have.

A classic example? Holding onto a gym membership you never use because you feel guilty about the money you’ve already spent. Instead of forcing yourself to go, canceling it frees you from the guilt and gives you the opportunity to find a workout you truly enjoy.

Quitting doesn’t mean failure—it means creating space for something better. Today, give yourself permission to quit and notice how much lighter you feel.

That’s it for Day 2! Share what you’re quitting using the hashtag #StackingBalance, and inspire others to let go of what’s not serving them. Join me tomorrow for Day 3, where we’ll talk about setting yourself up for success with three small, impactful actions. See you then!
