Welcome to Day 5 of the Stacking Balance: 21 Micro Shifts for Lasting Results challenge! How are you feeling so far? We’ve been making little changes each day, and today’s task is one of those that feels so good once it’s done: cleaning up your inbox.

Did you know the average professional receives 121 emails per day? That’s a lot of digital noise! And if you’re like most people, half of those emails are things you don’t even need or want. Today, we’re taking control of that chaos.

Your challenge today is to unsubscribe from five email lists that no longer serve you.

  • Go into your inbox, scroll to the bottom of those newsletters, and hit “unsubscribe”. It takes just a few clicks.
  • Pro tip: Search your inbox for “unsubscribe” to pull up all the newsletters at once and clean house quickly.

I used to let my inbox fill up with promotions and newsletters I never opened. It stressed me out every time I saw that little unread badge! Now, I’m ruthless about unsubscribing, and my inbox feels manageable again.

Think of this like digital decluttering. Studies show that a cluttered inbox can lead to feelings of overwhelm and procrastination. By cutting out the noise, you’re freeing up mental space and reducing decision fatigue.

The goal here isn’t a perfectly empty inbox—it’s about creating a space where you can focus on what matters. And trust me, future you will thank you for it!

That’s your task for Day 5! Unsubscribe from five emails and notice how much lighter you feel. Share your progress using the hashtag #StackingBalance, and I’ll see you tomorrow for Day 6, where we’re giving ourselves a break from our phones. See you then!
