Noah Mandel

In this episode, Noah spoke with Greg Lehman, a Canadian physiotherapist, strength coach, chiropractor, and educator who is recognized by many to be one of the most well respected thinkers in the world of physical rehab.

Greg completed his training as both a chiropractor and a physiotherapist. He studied spine biomechanics as part of his Master's degree at the University of Waterloo and published a number of papers. He is also an educator, teaching two different courses both online and around the world. His interests and areas of expertise professionally include running related injuries, pain science, back pain, spine biomechanics, and more.

Greg is well known for his exceptional critical thinking skills and not being afraid to question peoples beliefs, whether they belong to someone else or they are his own. He is constantly challenging clinicians to think deeper, to be more open-minded, and to approach issues from a different lens.

Today, Noah and Greg discuss:

  • What Movement Optimism is.
  • If heel striking is dangerous for runners.
  • When runners need to "correct" their form.
  • Whether there is a best type of running shoe for preventing injuries.
  • If runners get injured because they do not strength train.
  • Why we should not denigrate manual therapy, or even ultrasound.
  • And much, much more.

Enjoy!
