What if one of society’s biggest blind spots is how much we  expect mothers to carry?

From emotional regulation to attachment, to shaping tiny nervous systems, we place enormous responsibility on mother and then often leave them to do it alone.

This week on the podcast, I’m exploring the invisible weight of motherhood. Inspired by a study on lab rats and addiction showing that early nurturing impacts later susceptibility to substance use. I discuss the deeper message: not that mothers are to blame, but that we’ve placed an impossible burden on women. We expect perfect nurturing in a culture that offers little support, little rest, and very little village. What if the real question isn’t “What’s wrong with mothers?” but “What kind of world have we built around them?” If you’ve ever felt the invisible pressure of caregiving or love a mother who does, this episode is for you.
