A Trans Jewish podcast exploring the intersections of queerness and Judaism run by friends Charlie E. Skilling and Jaime McConachie. Using close reading practices and Mussar ideology, JewQueeries integrates our queerness into our spiritual lives. How do we practice justice in an unjust world? How do we navigate thousands of years old traditions as our entire trans selves, and what new ones do we create? These questions and more ahead!
Charlie is a Jewish acoustic musician, trans artist, and scholar of queer life.
He enjoys hosting neurodivergent-friendly queer parties and community spaces and finding new ways to show love to his people, as well as learning the fundamentals of Judaism after affirming his faith in 2020.
His work on disability justice can be found in Bed Zine, an international publication, and he is currently finishing research on trans temporality at UC Davis.
Jaime is a multi-media artist, Hebrew school teacher in San Francisco, and avid bird nerd.
They are working on furthering their Talmud and text study, and often attend classes with the JCCSF and SVARA Yeshiva.
They enjoy spending their weekends making pancakes and hanging out with their nieces.
