No twilight in this house {Firefighters}
Here we are again after a little hiatus to bring you episode 3! We'll take you on quite a journey exploring Post Malone, the battle of two Jimmy's, judgmental therapists and so much more.
Our meat and potatoes in this episode is diving into our firefighter parts (our other protectors). We explore common firefighters, how they present, and what their function is.
Note: IFS content starts at minute 11! (skip ahead to miss the gabs). Follow us @partsygirlspod on Instagram or email us at partysgirlspod@gmail.com.
IFS Institute characterizes firefighters as:
- Group of parts that react when exiles are activated in an effort to control and extinguish their feelings
- Can do this in any number of ways, including drug or alcohol use, self-mutilation (cutting), binge-eating, sex binges
- Have the same goals as managers (to keep exiles away) but different strategies
We're back next time to get to know Exiles so stay tuned
TW: this episode discusses self-harm.
