Aaron Groves

Aaron Groves was hired by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office in 2003 as a deputy sheriff where he served until he medically retired in 2020. During his career, Aaron assumed multiple different roles inside his agency. Aaron was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2012 where he spent time supervising the patrol division, the jail division, a regional narcotics enforcement team, and the Central Iowa Regional Tactical Team.

In 2021 the Impact Iowa’s Heroes (IIH) board asked Aaron to come aboard as Program Coordinator to help them broaden their reach to heroes across Iowa.  Aaron and his wife, Tricia, are excited to start their marriage coaching journey as they are certified coaches through the International Christian Coaching Institute and mentoring from Dr. Gary and Barb Rosberg.

Aaron has been married to Tricia since 2007 and they currently have three children: Adalynn, Gracelynn, and Gideon.

Tricia Groves

Tricia Groves is the wife of Aaron Groves, the mother of Adalynn, Gracelynn, and Gideon, and the Director of Operations at Newton Church of The Way.

Tricia graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Finance. She put that to use in the corporate telecommunications world for a number of years before going into ministry full-time. Today, she serves in multiple capacities at her church and at home.

Tricia has a passion and a heart for helping others. In 2007 she married Aaron and jumped right into the world of law enforcement marriage. It was shocking, it was hard, and it almost ended in divorce. Thankfully, God had a plan, and it was good. Together, Aaron and Tricia grew stronger in their marriage and now, through Impact Iowa's Heroes, they get to regularly speak life into the marriages of Iowa's first responder and military couples.
