Hi there! I'm Karli Newman, and this is my podcast, FLIPSIDE OF MIDLIFE®.
In my mid-40s, my positive mindset was tested. I felt life was passing me by. I was restless in my career even though I loved my job, and exhausted after years of ignoring my self-care. PLUS the hormonal shifts of perimenopause were affecting me in ways I didn't know or understand.
Externally I maintained a positive attitude. Internally I struggled with changing my life’s direction. I didn't talk about it and it took me years to work through it.
Over time I took some big leaps, including a move back to Arizona. I created a new approach to my life and maximized my innate positivity. That’s how I ended up here - helping women like you tap into your positive mindset and inner expertise to see and seize the possibilities around you. I don’t want you to do this alone!
I’m a certified coach focused on whole-life wellness. I know from personal experience what a transformational time of life this is and how challenging it feels sometimes! I’m here to help you navigate obstacles, uncover how to move forward, and continue your unique journey of personal growth and self-discovery.
I intentionally create short episodes that fit into your busy life and get you thinking about your well-being. I cover topics that the women in this community care about (that's you BTW!).

ABUNDANCE IS ALL AROUND YOU: A GUIDED VISUALIZATION
In midlife and beyond, life is throwing a lot our way. Our bodies are changing before our very eyes, and sometimes we are locked into a place of lack or scarcity.
It can be hard to see the abundance that surrounds us! But this is an ideal time to retrain your brain and leave lack and scarcity behind.

Hi there my friend. It's me, Karli. I'm a Life and Wellness coach. I'm also building a community of women in midlife and beyond. Thanks for joining me here today for this guided visualization where I help you notice all of the abundance that surrounds you. In midlife and beyond, life is throwing a lot our way. Our bodies are changing before our very eyes and sometimes, we are locked into a place of lack or scarcity, and it's hard to see the abundance that surrounds us. But this is an ideal time, my friend, to retrain your brain to leave that lack and scarcity behind and choose to see abundance instead. So I'm here with this guided visualization to help you do just that. Get into a comfortable and safe space where you can lie down for this guided visualization. And as you're laying down, wiggle your body, into the surface that you are lying on. Let's take a few nice deep breaths together, holding at the top and bottom. Here we go. Inhale, hold. Exhale, hold. Inhale. Hold, exhale, hold Now go ahead and let your breath return to its natural pattern and do a little more fidgeting if you sense any tension in your body or something doesn't feel comfortable. So as you're lying here in this comfortable position, in this safe space, imagine yourself sitting in the center of a field of flowers. The beautiful thing about this space is that there are no bugs to bite you. There are plenty of butterflies flying from flower to flower landing, sunning themselves and then moving on to the next flower of choice. Can you see it? there is so much color. There are so many different kinds of flowers, so many different places for those butterflies to land. Now reach out and pull a bud that is close to you, to your nose, and take a nice deep inhale. And let that scent fill your mind. Now, pick a flower that's close to you and just look at it close up, What do the petals look like? What do the leaves look like? Have you ever noticed how symmetrical flowers can be? Now take a look up at the sky. What do you see there? Are there clouds in the sky where you are? Is it clear blue? Now hone in on the scent of all the flowers combined. That earthy garden like scent. Take a nice big breath of that fragrance that you're smelling Now, just sit and enjoy the view from where you are. Feel in your heart and soul, how amazing this beauty is, how good it feels to tune into your senses, to see the butterflies around you in all of their splendor, to see and smell those flowers that are so perfectly created. Before we come back to the here and now, think about what this means to you. What might this visualization represent in your life? If there were a metaphor for this meadow you are sitting in surrounded by flowers and butterflies, what might it be? Where else in your life do you have such amazing abundance as you can see and smell before you? Let's take a big breath in together again. Nice big inhale and let it out gently through your mouth. Keep your eyes closed, but start to wiggle your fingers and toes. Maybe you fidget a little bit in your body again, just pulling yourself back to the present. And then gently blink, open your eyes to come back to this space. Hold on to the thoughts of this visualization, my friend, and allow it to be a reminder for you that abundance surrounds you all of the time. We aren't always adept at noticing it at, remembering that it's there. All month long in November, I'm talking about abundance in my emails, in my podcasts, in my Sunday visualizations and meditations. Please come back and join me for each of them. By the end of the month, you'll have trained your brain to find that abundance more easily. You'll remove yourself from being deeply embedded in lack and scarcity. Because when you look for the abundance, when you build a habit of seeking that abundance that always surrounds you, that fills your life, you will see it, you will attract more of it.
