Hi there! I'm Karli Newman, and this is my podcast, FLIPSIDE OF MIDLIFE®.
In my mid-40s, my positive mindset was tested. I felt life was passing me by. I was restless in my career even though I loved my job, and exhausted after years of ignoring my self-care. PLUS the hormonal shifts of perimenopause were affecting me in ways I didn't know or understand.
Externally I maintained a positive attitude. Internally I struggled with changing my life’s direction. I didn't talk about it and it took me years to work through it.
Over time I took some big leaps, including a move back to Arizona. I created a new approach to my life and maximized my innate positivity. That’s how I ended up here - helping women like you tap into your positive mindset and inner expertise to see and seize the possibilities around you. I don’t want you to do this alone!
I’m a certified coach focused on whole-life wellness. I know from personal experience what a transformational time of life this is and how challenging it feels sometimes! I’m here to help you navigate obstacles, uncover how to move forward, and continue your unique journey of personal growth and self-discovery.
I intentionally create short episodes that fit into your busy life and get you thinking about your well-being. I cover topics that the women in this community care about (that's you BTW!).

Hey there, my friend. It's me, Karli. Welcome to 2026. As a Life and Wellness Coach and community builder for women in midlife and beyond, I cringe a bit every time I hear these four words, New Year, New You. I used to buy in, but now that I'm older and wiser, I feel like it's one more message telling me I'm not okay as is. It feels dismissive of my life experience and, quite frankly, exhausts me. Do I welcome some change in the new year? Hell yeah! But it's more about accentuating who I am, learning and growing in some areas and letting go in others. It's more about trusting my wisdom and remembering that I'm enough just as I am right now. Maybe you can relate to some of these things. I created this guided meditation to connect you with the wisdom you carry and to know that you are enough right now. Whether you want to go slow, move quickly, create big change, or none at all, your desires are valid and you are worthy of them. What you want is possible from where you are at this moment. Let's begin. Settle into a comfortable position seated or lying down. There's no right or wrong here, my friend. Fidget a bit to get into just the right spot and start to notice the movement of your belly and chest as you breathe. Take a few purposeful deep breaths in and long exhales out as you slow your thoughts. As we continue, allow any thoughts that come in to gently dissipate. You're here for just a short time. Allow your breath to return to a natural pattern and notice YOU. See your unique gifts. Your beautiful flaws. Your strengths. Your opportunities. There's no judging or critiquing here. Only acknowledgement of you- who you are right now. What you see is individual. You are the only you on this planet. Allow that feeling to bubble up in you. That feeling of knowing who you are and accepting her and loving her. Within you is a steady source of wisdom. It comes from your lived experience. It comes from what you know, what you've learned. And it comes because you are here in midlife and beyond. Your wisdom isn't loud. It speaks to you quietly through sensation and intuition. Imagine that wisdom inside of you and give it a hug. Tell your wisdom, you are going to listen, that you're going to trust. That you believe you know what's best for you. Now bring to mind a desire you have. Something you're thinking about here in the new year. Not something that you're pressured about, but something you really want. How is your body responding when you think of this? Take a nice big breath in and exhale. And say to yourself, I am worthy of what I want. Who I am right now deserves what I want. This is a truth, my friend. Who you are right now is worthy and deserving of what you want. You don't need to become someone else. Take another big breath in and exhale, and now say to yourself, I trust my wisdom to guide me. Put your hands over your heart, my friend, and say that to yourself one more time. I trust my wisdom to guide me. Put your hands back on your lap or drop them down by your side and start to notice the space that's around you. Tune into the sounds. Notice the textures around you, the surface you're sitting or lying on. Maybe wiggle your fingers and toes and start to gently flutter open your eyes. Carry the feeling of this meditation with you as you go through your day, my friend. You are enough as is. You are wise, and you are worthy and deserving of what you want.
