Hi there, my friend. It's me, Karli, your favorite Gen X dealer of positive vibes, Life and Wellness Coach and founder of FLIPSIDE OF MIDLIFE®, a community for women in midlife and beyond. Thank you for joining me here for this guided meditation. Gratitude, what a helpful tool for creating a positive mindset, for boosting your mood, and for feeling really, really good about midlife and beyond. Today's meditation takes you through a few simple points of gratitude that you can return to whenever you need to experience those feelings. Let's begin. Find a comfortable spot to either sit or lie down. And as you're settling in, go ahead and wiggle, fidget a bit to get fully comfortable. And then close your eyes, or if you prefer, lower your gaze. Take a nice big breath in hold at the top and exhale completely. Take another big breath in. Hold at the top and exhale Repeat that one more time. Now, let your natural pattern of breath return. Now, think of one thing that has happened in the last 24 hours that you are grateful for. Hold that thought in your mind. Notice how your body feels as you recall this point of gratitude. And allow that feeling to move through your body, not just in the spot where it originates. How warm does it feel? What color is your gratitude? Does it put a smile on your face? Does it bring tears to your eyes? Now think a layer deeper. Look at the layers beneath that point of gratitude. What else surrounded that gratitude that you can also be grateful for. For example, if I expressed gratitude for my connection with a friend. I might see the layers of how long we've known each other, of how many situations where we have supported one another, of all the things we've shared over time, of how it feels when I talk to my friend. What are the layers within your gratitude point? And now I invite you to think of a future gratitude. What are you looking forward to that's going to happen in the next 24 hours? And how are you grateful for what's coming? What are the layers that you find there? Again, notice how you feel in your body as you think about this future gratitude point. Imagine that gratitude flowing through your entire body. Feel its warmth. Notice what color it is. And let those feelings stay with you. With gratitude in your heart, in your body, in your mind, in your soul, start to bring your awareness back to the space you're in. Hold onto those feelings as you do. Feel the surface beneath you. Gently move your body or wiggle your fingers and toes and then when you're ready, flutter, open your eyes. Maybe take a nice big breath in. Gratitude is an amazing tool for your wellness toolbox, my friend. In midlife and beyond, it helps us appreciate what's happening in our lives, in our bodies. It helps us shift our moods. It helps us stop the spiral of negative thoughts. Gratitude helps us fill our bodies with those warm feel good vibes. Thanks again for joining me here today.
