Most women don’t realise how disconnected they’ve become… because on the outside, everything still looks like it’s working.

They’re getting things done. Holding it all together. Showing up for everyone else.

But internally?
They’re in their head. Overthinking. Running on pressure. And completely disconnected from their body and intuition.

In this episode, I sit down with past client and friend Erin Norris, who shares her journey from burnout, near-death experience, and emotional overwhelm… to learning how to actually slow down, reconnect, and trust herself and her gifts again.

We talk about:

  • Why so many  women are stuck in their head (and don’t even realise it)
  • Erin's personal journey and her wake up call
  • What is energy healing and reiki and when they may be useful on your journey
  • How disconnection from your body leads to overthinking, anxiety, and burnout
  • The subtle signs your body is trying to get your attention (and what most women ignore)
  • Simple, practical ways to use your breath throughout the day — without needing more time
  • Why learning to trust yourself again changes everything (in business, motherhood, and life)

If you’ve been feeling constantly “on,” struggling to switch off, or like you’ve lost connection with yourself… this episode will hit.

You don’t need more strategies.

You need to feel safe enough to get out of your head and back into your body.

Listen now.

Welcome, Erin, to the Happy Healthy and Healing Podcast. I'm super excited to have you here today and to have our chat. I would love for you to start by introducing yourself and sharing just a little bit about what you do.

SPEAKER_01

Hello everyone. I'm Erin and I'm an intuitive energy healer and a breathwork facilitator as well.

SPEAKER_00

Amazing. And you run breathworks online and in person.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, yeah. So both online and then in person as well, um, out in Sunbury and then also in Wollen.

SPEAKER_00

Amazing. Um for those that have been around for a little while, Erin was actually one of my clients and we did a breakthrough together, what was it, 18 months ago maybe? I don't know, getting towards there. Um and we worked together for a little bit. And um the woman that I met when I first, you know, started coaching Erin to who she is today has been a phenomenal transformation and just continuing to go from strength to strength. So I really wanted to get her on here today to yes, speak a little bit about her journey and you know how she's got to this point here today, and also to share with you guys the importance of breath work. And you know, this isn't just about the big breathwork sessions where people have these huge releases. This is actually how we can incorporate it into each day and how she utilizes it as a breathwork facilitator each day. So I'm super excited to go through this. Now I've got some notes here, how I know this is gonna go off wherever it needs to go. So if you're listening or you're watching this on YouTube, stick with us because this is gonna be a great episode. So, first of all, I would love Erin for you to share, I guess, a little bit about your journey because you are quite young and compared to me. And I feel like the work that you've done at the age that you are, it's been such a pivotal piece for you. And you know, you're only in your 20s as we are recording this podcast. However, I'd love for you to take us way back to where you really started to dive into, I guess, wanting to work on yourself, improve on yourself, and yeah, just share a little bit about your journey.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so going back to 2020, I was really struggling that year, especially with COVID coming about and all the lockdowns that were happening at the time. And I was also doing year 12, so VCE as well in 2020. Yeah, I felt like I went into fight-flight mode, and my body was just completely overwhelmed, and I was literally shutting down. Even just getting out of bed in the morning, I was really struggling to do that and just going into my routine. It was just like this constant get up, go to school, and then come home. And I was like, I was in this robotic kind of system. And in August of 2020, my appendix actually ended up rupturing, and with that, it was like all like the negative self-talk that was all coming out and showing from outside my body. It was literally going internal and really causing disease within myself. So then once I got my appendix out, I started to notice like shifts within myself that I was like, something doesn't feel right. And then in May of 2021, I actually got into quite a serious car accident. My mum and myself were in the car driving down the freeway, and a drunk driver had hit us, and we started spinning in the car a couple of times, and we literally pulled out the bollards. And when I got out of the car, I literally don't know how we even walked away from that, like with little to no injuries at all. I think only just got a black eye. So from that moment on, I was like, oh, there must be something else out there to explore because like I just felt so protected in that moment, like just to be able to walk out and be like, oh my gosh, I'm actually safe and I'm actually alive from this.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, wow.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And it that's a very valid point, actually, is that you know, whether you believe in, you know, woo-woo, or you're very much like, no, this is the way it is, this is my reality, whatever side of the spectrum you're on, or if you're in the middle and you see both sides, it's when things like that happen, it is literally like, how does it even happen? Like for you to actually walk away and your mum without any serious injuries is actually a miracle. And, you know, I feel like sometimes in those big life events, it does start to ask those questions about all things, you know, maybe spirituality or people connect with religion, some people and you know, whatever their views are. And I wish more people would, I guess, even from a sense of personal development, it's like, why do we wait until we reach those breaking points before we start to make changes? And and same with breath work, same with, I guess, health, same with all the things. It's like, why do we absolutely wait to those limits? And I know where it's from. Like, as women, it's a lot of conditioning that you have to be and act a certain way and hold all these things. Like, I can see that, but it's like, why do we wait to the last minute? Why do we not choose to be proactive? So that obviously was a big wake-up call for you. Was that the start of like your sort of your work with your intuitive energy healings and things like that?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. So growing up, I always had like sore spirits and shadows within my house and kind of unusual things happening growing up. And going through high school, I kind of shut it off a little bit. So 2021 after the car accident, that's when I really started to get into it. And I went to get my Reiki from that as well. I even had a Reiki session after the car accident, and that's energy healing. So we all have seven chakras in our body, and with Reiki, it's like centering all of these chakras so that they're in alignment and the energy is flowing from the top of your head, the crown, all the way down to the bottom of your spine, your feet, and that's the root chakra out to the earth. So that was such a pivotal moment for me to realize that we are literally connected and there's something outside of us.

SPEAKER_00

I've had an online Reiki session with you, and it was incredible. Like literally, I could feel as we were moving through things, you know, different sensations in my body, different pains. Like for someone who spent a lot of her time up until recently in her head and disconnected from any of this sort of, you know, spirituality, it was a huge realization of the power of it for me. And so I'm wondering, could you share like some of the things that you see when our chakras aren't in alignment? You know, some of the actual physical symptoms that may be going, hey, you know, because with anything, whether it's our thoughts or our bodies or whatever's happening, it's like we get these signals, you know, and sometimes it creates for some people like, oh, I've got anxiety and it's it's a bad thing. And it's like, well, actually, what's the anxiety? What's the message behind it? You know, so in your opinion, like with our chakras, when they aren't in alignment, what are some of the physical things that people may see?

SPEAKER_01

So one I get a lot of is like the feet and not grounded and like sore feet and not moving forward, and that comes under like the root chakra. And I feel like the root chakra gets blocked in a lot of people because they're so in their head that not they're not really grounded within their body. So they're kind of just like floating around, and it's like they don't even realize they have legs sometimes because they're just so in their head, their thoughts are constantly running that they don't even realize what they're doing because they're in such a get up, go to work, come home, and it's like this constant cycle. So I feel like ungrounding sore feet that's one of the big symptoms that I do see. And you said mentioned something about anxiety. And with anxiety, I feel that a lot in the solar plexus, and it's like your intuition as well, like getting blocked, which is also related to your throat chakra and your third eye getting blocked because you're not trusting yourself as much as that you should be. Like everyone has their intuition. However, normally we go to external sources to see how we should be feeling or getting others to validate us where everything is literally within ourselves to be able to heal ourselves, to be able to know the steps forwards, like it's all within us. And a lot of the time we get so distracted that we look on the external when it's really on the internal.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. A hundred percent. And like I know for my own journey, that's literally you described me perfectly up until the last uh what, maybe six or seven years. Like I literally walk through life in my head, just get up, do the same thing, live life on repeat, like that robotic state. And I just thought that was normal, you know. And we that's what a lot of women are told. It's like you just do these things and then we get to 60, and then we retire, then we have fun, and then we die. And it's like, okay, this is the way I've got to live my life. However, you know, opening myself up to get curious, because I I didn't come from a spirituality background. Like I'm Catholic, I was taken to church every Sunday with my grandparents, and it was Polish church, so I didn't really know what was going on. However, it's like being able to start to connect with the curiosity of going, hey, maybe there is something outside myself. Hey, maybe these things are giving me, you know, warnings or like I'm getting these symptoms for a purpose. I know on an earlier podcast I've spoken about emotions being stored in the body, which you were sharing about like can create that disease feeling. And it's like actually opening up to what if, you know, what if like an example that I give a lot of women is breast cancer. Yes, working through your emotions or helping with energy healing or anything like that may not be the cure for breast cancer. However, can it be a preventative form to work through the emotions behind it? Because the emotions behind breast cancer are lack of nurturing yourself, or maybe your kids have moved out of home and it's like you've got nothing to nurture, or when parents, their mums pass away, things like that, or their daughter moves away, that sort of thing. Like, what if there is more that we can actually do to work on ourselves? And the other point that I really wanted to touch on is that intuition part, because again, coming from my religious background, going intuition's just woo-woo rubbish kind of thing. Like that was my past thoughts. That part, that intuition, if you want to call it your inner voice or that gut feeling or that inner guidance, that is so strong when you learn how to actually trust it. And I think, you know, yes, we worked together doing my breakthrough. However, one thing that I've learned through you, because I've had a couple of sessions with Erin, is like actually, I would say to Erin, like, hey, this is my thought or this is my feeling. And yes, I was like seeking that external confirmation at the time. However, after a few sessions, you were like, you already know Stacy, you know, and it was just literally that lack of trust because that's what we've been taught. We've been taught that you cannot trust yourself. You have to ask people for opinions. Like there was a time, maybe 2018-ish, I was like literally addicted to going to psychics and doing getting readings because it was like I had no self-trust whatsoever. And so I love that we can, and we've done a few joint client sessions together, is that actually bringing both pieces together, going, okay, Stacey can work on the beliefs that are holding people back and conditioning that side of things, which will help self-trust. And like Erin has brought her piece to the party, going, no, let's actually tune into your body. And you know, there's many ways that you can tune into your body, but I'd love to chat more about breath work and going, how does that all fit? You know, so going into your journey, learning about your gifts, exploring that. Like her readings are spot on. I'm gonna give you probably a hundred plugs in this episode. So if you haven't, please I'll put it um Erin's bio in my notes, and I'm like trying to type it as we're talking. Um, you can reach out. However, how did you go from okay, these are my gifts, and something needs to shift within myself to then exploring more about breath work and how did that help you?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, so it's actually very linked into my Reiki. So the way I clear the energy and the chakras in the system is through my breath. So I literally channel energy from the universe, from source, whoever you believe. I channel it up through my feet and it literally comes out my hands, and the way I move the energy is through my breath. So I did my Reiki level one and level two without having done my breathwork facilitation course, and it was okay. I was able to still clear the energy. However, I felt like I didn't have much control of where the energy was going because I was which had so much energy coming through my hands and I was channeling so much. However, I was doing it by my breath and I didn't have control over my breath. So when I got my master's in Reiki, I also had my breath work facilitation certificate as well. So I got my certificate last February, and then I got my master's in October last year. So when I got my master's, I had mastered my breath and how to use my breath to be able to clear energy, and it really helps you just to ground. So just taking like three deep breaths every morning before even getting out of bed, before even touching our phones, just taking three deep breaths through the nose and out through the mouth really just helps you ground back into your body and you notice just how much you've been carrying because you literally feel it within your shoulders, just dropping back in and seeing where different areas in your body that feel heavy. Having this certificate, it just allowed me to notice how much we just subconsciously just breathe. However, it can be so powerful once you know how to utilize it to you and use it to your advantage.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, yes, it is. And again, I always you bring in my past journey because I feel like me a few years ago, needed to see that evidence that like people can shift, you know, because there was a long time that I just thought that's the way life is. And so that's why I bring in the personal examples is I was the kind of woman, which you probably see it, is like I don't have time to do meditation or breath work, or you know, that's just not for me. It doesn't work for me, my brain doesn't switch off. And do you you would have seen that, I'm sure, definitely. Yeah. And so being intentional, like we breathe every single day. However, being intentional with it can be so short and so effective. Like I'm I love the transformational breath works, they often have massive releases for people. However, the power in the day-to-day stuff, like I'll get my clients to lay on the floor, put their legs up on the wall, and just breathe for five minutes, in through the nose, out through the mouth, and just actually feeling that feeling of like the shoulders, as you said, dropping is incredible. So, with breath work, how would how do you feel when people are doing it daily? So if it's three minutes or five minutes or whatever you um suggest, how do you feel that helps them, I guess, learn to listen to their inner voice more, their intuition and and and work on that?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so because they're intentionally breathing, it's like they are just focused on their breath. So if you're focused on your breath, it gives your subconscious mind ideas to be able to drop in. And if your conscious mind, the way that you think your day-to-day like just doing, once that switches just to focusing on how much air is going into your lungs, in just a short period of time, the more you do it, it's like this gut feelings just start start to show up more, ideas start to come in. And the more you practice it, like literally, it could be even two minutes every day. It's like if you keep at it, it's like different things will start dropping in for you. It's just creating that space to be able to slow down, to be able to listen. Because if you're constantly rushing and doing and just pushing yourself, it's really hard to be able to actually listen to what's coming through.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You really just need to slow down.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That's such a big one. You know, a lot of women we're we're constantly rushing. It's and it's easy to fall into that pattern because you've got X, Y, Z to do, and you've everything feels urgent, but it's like simply that pause, even just between tasks, can be so powerful for people. Do you have a favorite kind of breath that you practice yourself? Like when you're maybe when you're feeling stressed and things are feeling like a lot of pressure. Do you have a favorite one?

SPEAKER_01

I love alternating nostril breathing. That really just drops you into your body. So you just block one nostril with your index finger, you can use, and then you breathe all the way in, and then you block the other nostril and breathe all the way out as you release your other finger, and you just keep alternating. And you could probably just do 10 rounds, and you literally just feel so much pressure drop from your shoulders. It's literally crazy.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I'm probably a bit boring. I just like the old school inhale and then try and exhale for longer than I inhale, and each time it's a bit of a game almost. Like I'm like, how long can I stretch it? But I feel like that calms me right down.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

What about in terms of so you do breath work online and in person? Do you want to tell us a bit about because they they are different?

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Where would the ones, you know, if people can't reach you in person, how would online be able to help them?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so online I do different themes, and I have like weekly ones that I set up to do. And within these themes, it takes you on a little bit of a journey. And the ones online, it's very much relaxation, dropping back into your body, finding your inner wisdom coming through and your intuition as you move through each week. And the feedback that I've gotten from these week-to-week ones that people have come back to over the four weeks, they feel so much lighter within their body and like they can trust themselves by the end of the four weeks, like it's such a short period of time. However, just focusing on your breath every single day for four weeks has such an impact, and they just feel like they can trust themselves to make decisions and really listen to themselves instead of going externally. However, this is different to my in-person ones where we do a transformational breath work where it's all just music and you have to lie on the floor for these ones. And this is very much releasing any emotions that you've been holding on because your body doesn't process emotions when you feel unsafe. So it takes a little bit of time to be able to calm down the nervous system to drop back into your body to actually process some of the things that have happened in the past to be able to release and let go of it. So my in-person ones are very supportive and nurturing as you move through the journey because it can bring up things from the past that haven't been processed and you kind of need that little bit of support as you move through.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And and this is why I mean the breathwork industry is unregulated. So, you know, you don't go and get a uni degree to do breath work and you're learning from different facilitators. And this is one thing that I would say do not just go with everyone and anyone. Absolutely use your discernment because when you are doing that transformational kind of breathwork session, you actually need to be with someone who knows how to move the energy, knows how to support you through it, how to support you after it. Because for some people, they it might bring up something that they haven't thought about for 20 years and they're like, why is this coming up? And they feel all the emotion. And as you said, it's like that your body's actually wants to process it and get it out. Like if you think about it, if you're like this all the time and your body's holding on to all of that stress, physically, mentally, emotionally, that can't be great for you long term. And so breath work is something that helps you to move that. And so that's why absolutely I like there's very few breathwork facilitators that I actually recommend. And Erin is one of them because I know that she'll look after her people. I've had experience where people have been, I don't want to say re-traumatized, however, they haven't felt supported afterwards. And it's super important to have that support, not just in the journey, it's like afterwards as well. And the thing is, if you're listening to that and you're like, oh my God, I feel a bit scared about doing breath work, you will only get what you are ready to receive. That's like the same in my line of work. People sometimes we work through things, we go through a breakthrough and they're like, oh my God, Stacey, why does this come up six months later? It's like, because you were actually ready to face these things now. So I mean, the first time I did a breathwork session, I literally spent 55 out of 60 minutes in my head going, I can't get into it, I can't get into it, I can't get into it. And it's like then actually going, once I I did get into it, I was like, oh wow, like this, the it was a euphoric feeling. And then um, they're like, Oh, it's over. I was like, oh, damn it. Um, so you know, it can be a bit of a practice thing. Like, have you had clients who they'll do a session and then like the next one they might get more out of it? Does that is that something you see?

SPEAKER_01

Definitely. The first two to three, like it's very much just creating that safety within self, I feel. And then I feel like the fourth one on, it's like they feel safe and they know they can kind of trust me. So it's like they settle in a bit more.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

100%. Safety is such a big thing. And I feel like the word safety sometimes comes when you're saying that to people, and that comes across like there's a it's a bad thing, safety. And it's like, no, if you actually think about it, we are still in that primate brain, and our bodies and our nervous system are very much wired back to those caveman days where if there was a tiger chasing us, we want to have that fight or flight mode activated because we want to get out of there for survival. However, what's happening day to day is that most women, I know some men will be there as well. We're in that nine or 10 out of 10 stress state just in everyday life. You know, you think about it like this morning, Mondays are busy for us as we're recording this. I get up, the kids um up at 4 a.m., whatever time they decide is wake up time. It's like breakfast, make lunches. Drop kids off, then uh come back do a client call, then I drop Bailey off to work, then I come back into homeschool with Ruby. And it's like this state, even though I love what I do throughout the day, I'm still up here in this state. And so by doing breath work and actually settling into our body, the impact that it's going to have on our nervous system and our health overall long term is one of those things that I feel like is missing. From your experience, if you could help someone with any advice, you know, if they're feeling that stress state, that fight or flight mode, would you recommend that breath work is the thing for them to do? Would you would you think that that could have impact on their health?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. It's a great starting point just to be able to block out just a little bit of the external noise and distractions and just to come back within yourself. Even if it's like two minutes, like if you're constantly got all these things to do, by the end of the day, you're so in your head, like fight, fly at capacity, and breath work just allows you to kind of just drop back in and really settle yourself and drop your heart rate. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Kind of like takes the edge off in a healthy way, not having a glass of wine to kind of switch off. And you know, I think like when the women that I speak to, a lot of them struggle with the overthinking, the overwhelm. They're feeling like I think a lot of them at the start, they don't actually know what the nervous system is or you know, but they can recognize the symptoms, like they're always feeling on, they struggle with sleep, they're you know, always feeling wired kind of thing, you know, even sometimes jittery. So incorporating this into their daily routine can be such an incredible place to start. I have a lot of mums that listen to this podcast, and so what are your thoughts on teaching kids breathwork? You know, because it's all good and well that we can work on ourselves, we can do breath work like I like to do mine morning and night. It's kind of like bookend of the day, or when I'm feeling like I took Bailey for a drive in the rain the other day and I got out of the car and I was like shaking. I was like, I just need to go lay down for a second, just need to do my breath work. So, what are your thoughts on teaching kids simple breath works and what one would you suggest to teach them?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I even run a couple of kids' breath work and it's really great because they honestly just settle straight away, which seems a bit crazy because kids are normally known for having fun and running around. However, them just sitting still and doing deep breaths. So I like teaching them pretend you're blowing up a balloon through your nose. So you're blowing the air up and then letting the air out through their mouth and just creating this beautiful visual of that balloon, and they can choose their own balloon colour. Um, it makes it a bit fun for them, and it just allows them to focus on something else and come back again within themselves and kind of create that beautiful calm energy and that relaxed state where they're not constantly on the go.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Because the thing is, is we're doing this work on ourselves, and a lot of women who have been listening from the start, you know, each week I give tips and things. However, we're also modeling to our kids, you know, so it's not exclusive that you're like, oh, I need to do this by myself. And that's the belief I had when meditation didn't work with for me because I was like, oh, I don't have the time. Like if I look at my day, I'm actually at capacity. However, incorporating it and modeling it to our children is gonna help support the kids in they get to make these shifts now, you know, they get to learn that this is normal to actually regulate themselves. They get to have these tools and these resources as they grow older. Like, I know Toby particularly has a lot of energy, my five-year-old. And sometimes I hear him in the lounge room, he's like, just take a breath, you know, and literally we do the balloon one with him. And, you know, I can I can hear that. Or he'll come in here if you know, because I am often juggling a little bit of work, a little bit of mum, all the things, and he'll be like, Mom, I can't take a breath. However, how incredible that this he's got this tool as a five-year-old, and hopefully when he gets to 35, he's not going to be going through the same things that I've worked through. Um, so yeah, there is so much power in not only helping yourself, however, modeling and sharing this with the kids and incorporating them whichever way you can. All right, let's go through my notes. So, so going from kids, I'd actually, this is a little bit of a sidestep. I'd love to know a little bit more about how you feel getting into doing your own inner work as well as breath work has helped you now, being in your early 20s. And I guess you'll see the reflection with women who are a lot older. And going, like I know Erin actually came to one of my retreats and sitting in the space with women that were from 19 to 60. And so I'd love to for you got you to share with everyone about how you feel this is helping set you up now, you know, before you have kids, before you've got the commitments, before you've got the responsibility. Because I really feel like you're a true inspiration to people, not only through your work and your gifts, but also modeling that you're never too young or too old to work on yourself. So I'd love for you to share with everyone just your thoughts on that.

SPEAKER_01

So doing the work now, I feel like it's allowed me to notice my own patterns and the patterns that have been passed down from the past generations. So working through that, so just seeing like the different patterns, it's like I want to do things differently moving forward. And working with Stacey, I felt like I have started to actually put plans into place to actually take action. Where before I'll be like, oh no, I'll just wait, I'll wait to do it. And it's like, well, we don't know how long we've actually got, so we actually need to start living for the here and now and what we do have and what's in our control. And I feel like that's been the major thing of me just actually stepping up and taking action in my life. Like, even with my business, like I used to be so scared to be able to do all the things. I was like, oh my gosh, how am I gonna juggle it all? And with the past beliefs that I had of like not being good enough and not being worthy, it's like when we work through that together, it's just allowed me to actually start living my life and knowing that I am good enough. And obviously, some doubts still pop up every now and then. However, like that motivation in the back, like, no, I actually am good enough, and start to take that action to create that new evidence that we can achieve anything that we want, like we create our own reality and doing this work before kids as well. It's like when I do have kids, it's like you can literally bring them up in a way that is supported and they knowing that they can create anything they want, so then they pass that down to their generations, and it's like this flow-on effect. Like you always say that you don't just help one woman because it's literally passed down.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah, that's that's so true. And I feel like by you actually working through those perceived blocks or old beliefs, it's like it's allowed you to yes, focus on actually a living. And it's every time you hit that upper level, it's like you know that you're in that next level of expansion. You know, it's it's serving a purpose. Like I have a favorite saying that's new level, same devil. It's like we all have these themes in our life that will pop up, you know. I still have it before I run every event and every retreat. It's like, can I do this? It's like, of course you can. You just got to move, Stacey. Like, however, if I hadn't hadn't have done my own work, then I wouldn't be able to do that. Um, and I'd just self-sabotage. So yeah. And so with you feeling though that you you can actually take action and move forward and move through that overwhelm, that overthinking, all of those things, anxiety even, how do you now incorporate breath work into your day-to-day to help you through those moments where things might flare up, or you might be feeling like a lot of emotional, or you might be feeling anxiety, whatever it is. Like, how do you utilize it day-to-day? Because I'd love to share that with everyone here listening because I want them to actually implement some things, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Whether you work with Erin and or go to one of her breathwork sessions, or you simply take on board doing two minutes every day. I'd love for you to, from your experience, share the ones that have the biggest impact for you in your day-to-day life.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So I can now catch myself when I feel like I'm spiraling. So when thoughts are just coming at me and they don't really make sense. It's just my mind trying to grapple at different things and make sense of different things. It's like in their moments, I can literally just focus on my breath and notice how much air is going in through my nose and how much is coming out through my mouth. And just slowing down, it just allows them thoughts to really subside and they're not as big as I perceive them to be. So it just allowed me to come back in within myself. And the other thing that I notice as well, even when we're driving, like we do that day to day, it's like just taking a breath. And when you're sitting in traffic or at a red light, knowing that this is like a perfect opportunity just for you to drop in your body, even when you feel like you are busy throughout the day, like that's the perfect opportunity that you can just sit and focus on your breath while you're driving.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so so anchoring to something you're already doing. So you feel like the biggest thing to for you to do daily is, you know, one, catching that thought processing and you know, it's almost like a snap out of it, isn't it? Just taking a few deep breaths, like um, even reacting sometimes like to my kids. Like the other day, I don't know what they were doing, but I was like feeling really overstimulated and just they were all talking, it was very loud. And it's like taking three breaths to just calm. So like that can work for your like for spiraling or overthinking. And I really like the point about anchoring it to something you're already doing. So if you've already got a drive to work, like put five breaths in there, you know, it's something so simple. And most women, I'm gonna say, I'm gonna assume they're the same with um yourself is like they look at me like I'm cross-eyed when I'm like, just it gets to be that simple. You don't have to overcomplicate it. The small pieces every single day are gonna add up rather than just waiting for once a month to go to a big breathwork event. It's like, no, anchor it in day to day. That is the thing that is gonna help you. So I love that. So anchoring in, that's your task, listening to this podcast. Anchor it into something that you already do and catching yourself in times of overthinking or frustration or where you feel like you want to explode. It's like literally pause, take three breaths, and then take your next step. Because if we're constantly living in this state, we're not gonna be able to make clearer decisions. We're not gonna be able to take the next step in our actions. We're literally just gonna get stuck in our head. So by coming back into our body, whatever way feels great for you, is actually the first step. You know, that is the first step to any change. It's like actually getting out of your head. You know, if you connect with going to sit outside, being in nature, like going to the beach like I do, whatever it is, just actually take a breath and calm down. So I love that advice. So thank you. Um okay, so I did want to chat a little bit more about spirituality piece um before we finish this podcast. And I feel like we will have a part two to this coming up. So if there's anyone listening that wants me to ask certain questions to Erin after this, just send them through because we'll organize a second one. Um because I know that we could literally just chat all day. So, in terms of spirituality, bringing people, I guess, reconnecting them with their cell themselves, their intuition, you know, things like energy healing and Reiki, the readings that you offer. When do you think that it is useful for people to engage in things like this? Like, if you know, people are like, I'm feeling really flat and flustered, and I just feel like something's not quite right. Like, is that the time that you would say to people to go, hey, like, let's talk about a Reiki? Like, is there certain times that people should be looking to get guidance, or do you feel like it's more people just know when they want support?

SPEAKER_01

I feel like majority of people that I come across is when they're going through a lot of changes in their lives or they want change and they're not sure about the steps forward. I feel like that's where a lot of my card readings come into play. And it's literally like, where do they want to go? And that kind of direction piece of again getting that reassurance that they can trust themselves because they already know the way. And when I do my readings, I don't ask any questions and I'm just picking up on the energy that's coming through. However, by me channeling the messages from my guides, they're like, Okay, that makes sense. However, they already know it within them. With my Reiki, I feel like a lot of people come to me for that when they feel really tired, run down, burnt out. Like if they're constantly working, go, go, go with kids, it's like they're just so tired and they're literally out of capacity, and it's like just dropping back in, calming the nervous system. And I also see a lot of people with Reiki as well, if they've had like constant colds or something popping up, like the physical symptoms that they come to me as well because they know something's not quite right.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That's interesting, isn't it? You know, humans don't like change really. And you know, we don't like pushing outside of our comfort zone. Like that's a program thing again to keep you safe. So when we're at these times of change or these crossroads, and it's it's almost like we're like, just someone just give me the answer. Just tell me what to do, and I'll go and do it, you know, because again, that lack of self-trust. And like if we go back to 2020 times, you know, that was a really, if you're from Victoria, like we both are, that was a really heavy time to be moving through. And, you know, I know at that time I felt so lost and isolated. I felt numb and I was that's where the searching came from, is like I just want someone to make me feel better. Whereas, you know, I think that in the work that you do with readings and healings and things like that, I'd love for more people to approach it with going, it's it's a proactive piece as well, going, yes, you know, I I would love to connect with a loved one, I'd love to get a message, I'd love to receive these things. However, it's it's not just have a reading and then do nothing with it. You know, it's like have a reading and take the pointers from it and go, what do I actually need to work on to move forward and to change? You know, and if you follow astrology, we've just come out of the year of the snake, as we've recorded a couple of weeks ago, and we're into the fire horse energy. And so there is a lot of change happening right now. Like lots of people are having, my God, this is my whole life is just blown up, or I'm at this crossroads, or there's there's lots of things happening. So, from what you've seen and what you're seeing with people throughout breath work, readings, Reiki, things like that, what do you feel like, you know, is a great place for people to start focusing on coming inward? It's like if you could give them one piece of advice for the next six to twelve months about their journey, what would that be?

SPEAKER_01

So, my one piece of advice would be to come back in within yourself, look at your energy and where your energy is going. If you feel like you're getting caught up in the fear of the collective energy or what's going on around the world, it's like how can you limit what you're seeing from external sources to bring it back into you and what's in your control instead of giving out your control to other places of fear or low vibration and just really focusing on your habits and what you're doing day to day to help bring you peace, to bring you unity within your own self.

SPEAKER_00

I love that so much. And you know, there there is a lot of horrible things happening in the world right now, and it's it's easy to feel consumed by it all. And I mean, one of the best things I ever did was switch the news off, if I'm honest, because it was it was a lot, you know, and my body was feeling it a lot. And you know, that's not to discount what's happening. However, we literally can only control what's happening in our life, you know, and two people can be going through the same thing and having different experiences because they're focusing on what they can control. So I love that advice. And you know, going within, you have what you need inside. It's just been buried somewhere that pushed down that you can't trust yourself, you can't think about it, you can't do it. And it's like, no, you actually can. So I think that's incredible advice. And the only thing I would add is from my perspective that's really helped me is actually just putting pen to paper sometimes, you know, getting it out of your head and and going, what do I actually want and what can I actually do right now? And sometimes that simple task, like I'm not a big journaler. However, when I do, I find it really has an impact, is like literally just getting out of my head is super beneficial to help me feel clearer at karma, all the things. So I think we will leave the podcast there for today. And I know that we will record a part two. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge around breath work and how it can help women day to day, as well as energy healing, because you know, as I said at the start, like I came from that very religious background and the woo-woo was just made to out to be this crazy bad thing. And it's like, well, it actually there's so many similarities between spirituality and connecting into yourself. So thank you for sharing your gift with us. Um now, can you please tell everyone listening the best way to connect with you if they, you know, whether they want to book in a reading or Reiki or breathwork or they just want to even have a chat, you know, because sometimes it's you've got a burning question that you're like, is this right for me to do the reading or whatnot? Um, where can people reach you?

SPEAKER_01

Thank you so much for having me on this podcast, Stacy. Really appreciate it. Um, everyone can follow me on Instagram. I think Stacy's gonna put a link down below. And my handle's just Erin underscore JM underscore Norris. Um so send through any questions, any queries. I have links in my bio for in person breath work and then also online as well. So yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Amazing. How great is you know, we get to do these things online as well. So thank you so much for coming on here today, and I'm looking forward to part two.

Thank you.
