Can I ask you something? Have you ever smiled at someone else's success, then gone home and quietly questioned your own life? I've done that. Have you ever wondered why everyone around you seems to be moving ahead while you feel like you're standing still? Like you're watching life through a window pressed up against the glass while everyone else dances inside. If you've ever felt like me, then this episode is for you. Because comparison quietly steals your peace. Unforgiveness quietly weighs down your heart. And neither of them can carry you into the life God has already prepared you for. So today, let's choose something different. Let's loosen the grip of comparison. Let's release what we've been carrying. Like, release it. Give yourself room. And let's make room for stillness and peace. Well, hello, beautiful people, and welcome back to the Striving Butterfly, a space where we grow through life transitions with faith, grace, and intentionality being authentic every step of the way. If this is your first time, welcome. I'm so grateful you've chosen to spend these next few minutes with me. Today's affirmations are for the person who feels overlooked, the person who genuinely is happy for other people, but quietly asks, when will it be my turn? Maybe you've been waiting, maybe you're still praying, maybe you're still working, and maybe you're still healing, as we do. It feels like everyone else is receiving the opportunities you're hoping for. And if I'm honest, and if we're honest, those feelings can slowly become disappointment, comparison, resentment, unforgiveness, and even jealousy. Not because you're a bad person, but because you're human. And today we're gonna choose freedom. We're gonna go and choose to forgive. We're gonna choose contentment without giving up on what we're believing for. And we're choosing to trust that God has not forgotten us. So let's just take a deep breath. Allow your shoulders to relax and repeat these affirmations with me. I release comparison and embrace the journey God has prepared for me. I forgive those who have gone ahead of me because their blessings does not diminish mine. I forgive myself for believing I should be further along than I am. I choose gratitude for what I have while trusting God for what is still to come. I am not behind, I am being prepared. My identity is not found in achievements, possessions, or other people's progress. I refuse to let envy rob me of today's peace. God's timing is wise, purposeful, and perfect for my life. I celebrate the victories of others knowing there is still room for mine. What God has for me cannot be taken by anyone else. I release every expectation that has become a burden. I trust that my season will arrive at the right time. I choose peace over pressure. I choose contentment without losing hope. Every step I take is leading me closer to where God has called me to be. Now let's anchor those words in God's truth. Philippians chapter four verses eleven to thirteen says I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. Contentment isn't settling, it's trusting God. Even while you're still waiting. Ecclesiastes three verse eleven reminds us he has made everything beautiful in its time. Not our time, his time. And here's another one. Hebrews chapter twelve verse fifteen warns us not to let bitterness take root, because what grows in our hearts eventually shapes our lives. And Proverbs 4, verse 23, above all else, guard your heart for everything you do flows through it. Comparison starts in the heart. Bitterness starts in the heart, but so does peace. So can I leave this with you? Sometimes the hardest part of waiting isn't the waiting itself. It's watching someone else receive the very thing that you've been praying for. The promotion, the marriage, the business opportunity, the healing, the baby, the opportunity for the breakthrough. And while you're clapping for them with good intent, there's a quiet part of you asking, have you forgotten me? Friend, brother, sister, let me just tell you, today and tomorrow, he hasn't. Not for one second. God isn't working from somebody else's calendar. He's working from his purpose for your life. It's already been done. Your preparation doesn't always look productive. Some seasons look quiet because your roots are growing before your fruit appears. Hear me again and pause this if you need it. Some seasons look quiet because your roots are growing before the fruit appears. So forgive yourself for every timeline you've held yourself hostage to. Forgive the people you've compared yourself with. And trust this that what God has for you will never require you to compete for it. You may need to pray, but your blessings cannot accidentally end up in someone else's hands. If it's for you, it's for you. Keep praying, keep trusting, keep growing, keep becoming. Even if you want to feel like you want to give up, keep going. If today feels slow, even if it feels silent and lonely, know that God is still working. Your story isn't finished yet. He's waiting for you to just make that step. If today's affirmations encouraged you, I'd love for you to share this episode with someone who needs the reminder that God's timing is always perfect. Don't forget to subscribe, follow the podcast, and turn on notifications so you never miss an episode. And if you haven't already, take some time to listen to my previous affirmation episodes. They're filled with encouragement for every season of your life. Leave a comment and let me know which affirmation spoke to you the most. And before you go, I want you to remember this. Your value isn't measured by your timeline. Your peace isn't determined by someone else's success. And your purpose has never been delayed by God's silence. So today, as I tell you always, clap for yourself, celebrate yourself, clap for yourself, do it for yourself. Show yourself some love and up. Keep stripping. Keep leaping and keep coming beautiful.
