The ability to master your self. That brings in a bigger question “what is the self?”, for now we will put that question to the side.
Self-mastery is when we are able to control our thoughts, words, emotions and actions. We begin to developing self-discipline, self-control, transmuting unhelpful behaviours into ones that allow us to flourish.
Putting the ego-mind in the passenger seat and the conscious mind in the drivers seat.

In this episode we speak with the thoughtful and curious James. We look at the power of storytelling, the influence this methodology has had on James' life. How his exploration of using storytelling in his work has him asking questions around its importance. He shares the deep connection he has with himself, which is supported by his participation in four Vipassana (10 day silent meditation retreats). James also mentions various people, their work and how they have influenced his journey. Including and not limited to; Jonny Wilkinson, Joanna Macy (The Work That Reconnects), Manda Scott (Thrutopia).

James grew up outside Portsmouth as one of four brothers, where his love for the outdoors began. After graduating from drama school in 2018, James joined Amnesty International UK, working in fundraising and communications. While there, he started volunteering at a South London charity and launched Make a Film in a Weekend,
Passionate about using storytelling for social impact, James continues to create meaningful projects that bring people together.
