Although Martin gave us an update on his Cancer this week we delve into his current treatment "Immunotherapy" and its possible side effects.
Immunotherapy uses our immune system to fight cancer. It works by helping the immune system recognise and attack cancer cells.
You might have immunotherapy on its own or with other cancer treatments. Immunotherapy is a standard treatment for some types of cancer. And it is in clinical trials for other types of cancer.
There are different types of immunotherapy. We have information about the following types of immunotherapies:
- monoclonal antibodies (mAbs)
- checkpoint inhibitors
- vaccines
- cytokines
- CAR T-cell therapy
Some types of immunotherapies are also called targeted treatments or biological therapies.
The boy's also talk about the touchy subject of Piles (Hemorrhoids) rhyming cockney slang "Farmer Giles" Piles, discussing diagnosis, causes and treatments.
Hemorrhoids (HEM-uh-roids), also called piles, are swollen veins in the anus and lower rectum. Hemorrhoids are similar to varicose veins. Hemorrhoids can develop inside the rectum, called internal hemorrhoids. They also can develop under the skin around the anus, called external hemorrhoids
