The Language of Loss
Season 2 Episode 48
The Language of Loss
The boy's are joined again today by another special guest Debbie Briden Author of her new book "The Language of Loss"
Before retiring in October 2024, Debbie worked tirelessly for 2.5 years establishing a top-notch, bank-wide bereavement team. She spent six months researching how banks and customer service providers treat bereaved families, and we were surprised to learn that it’s often quite shocking.
Through Debbie's involvement in external bereavement and loss training, along with her work with bereaved families, She became familiar with various grief behaviours. Her years of management experience have also given her insight into behaviours exhibited in response to loss, whether it pertains to health, wealth, or happiness; these reactions are pretty similar to those associated with grief.
Debbie has taken everything she's learned and experienced and turned it into a book. It’s not all doom and gloom—it will resonate with everyone. The book reassures readers that how they respond to any situation is normal and perfectly okay.
Debbie kindly gives us a interview today which many will find interesting and will have experienced at some stage in their lives.
We hope you enjoy todays Podcast and hope it helps you understand grief and how you can deal with it.
