I started attending therapy when I was in high school and I actually enjoyed the process. I would look forward to going to meet with my therapist that was there on the school campus. We had someone that would come in, that was outside of the school district and she would meet with me once a week and I looked forward to that day every week. I was actually a little sad when our sessions had ended Because, yes, I may have been through six, eight or 12 sessions, whatever it calmness, the feeling like someone understood me when I met with her a few days afterwards, but, believe me, after a couple of days, I was looking forward to that next session because I wanted to feel understood, I wanted to feel seen once again, and so, even after, there was this one thing that I didn't learn. That is what truly started making the difference in my life to where now I have clarity, I have peace, I have a tool bag of skills to reach from, because I heard this one phrase and I kept saying what does that mean? If that's what I need, what does that mean? Because at this time, I hadn't spent years off and on in therapy seeing different therapists, only to get that rush of peace and calmness, for a temporary setback later. It didn't last. I was good while I was there. I was good sometimes hours, sometimes days after, but then, once that was over, I needed something else. I need to figure out what to do with this part of my life. Once I go in there, I'm breaking down because I'm trying to figure out what is life and is it really supposed to be this way, and why did I experience the different traumatic experiences? Who would give me the answers? And a lot of time. I was met with a lot of good feedback, but I wasn't ever really equipped with tools to push me forward that I can take on my journey of life. And so, years later, after I've been going through therapy, I have a mental breakdown and with that breakdown, I'm out for weeks and months and I've checked out.
Speaker 1:I'm not even sure if I wanted to do life any longer, but what I did know was that I wanted to be present for my children and that I wanted to be in their lives and I wanted to see them grow and I wanted to show them a better way of life. But how could I do that when I didn't know how? And I knew that doing the same routine of going to therapy wasn't going to help me, because something had to change. And I didn't know what that change was. And while I'm sitting in bed and praying, crying, sleeping, waking up with nightmares and being severely depressed, my body was full of heightened negative experiences. I knew that if I went back and did therapy the exact same way that I was doing it before, that all of this could come back, rushing in, reminded me of everything that I've been through in, reminded me of everything that I've been through.
Speaker 1:What I realized in my broken state, when I finally decided that, yes, I wanted to be better, but really better not baseline, but truly better was that something had to change. I needed something that was truly lasting, that would equip me. I needed to really begin a healing journey. At that time, I thought I need to heal. That was my words. I need to heal. But now I know that healing is a journey and it's important. It is essential to have tools, to have techniques, skills, resources to go with you along the way, and this thing is what helped me make a true difference, a true transformations in their lives, to help us gain the clarity, the peace, knowing our purpose that we once needed, and you know what that one thing is. We're going to talk about it even deeper, but it started with rewiring my mind, so I'm going to tell you it's time for a lasting change, it's time for a true transformation, and it starts with rewiring your mind.

Speaker 1:Have you ever found yourself trapped thinking what is there left for me to do? I have seriously tried everything to be my best in all my roles, but why do I still feel like a failure? Speaker 1:All right, you may be living in a fight and flight response. Right, and most of the time when we're living in a fight flight freeze response, we are unaware that we're living there. All we know is that, despite being physically safe and being in our normal environment, we don't feel safe emotionally or spiritually. We are living a disturbed life. Basically, we are living a disturbed life basically. So being on high alert even in your normal environment, constantly worrying about if you are enough, if you can keep other people happy, your spirit is low and you are losing the strength to even pretend that you are okay. You may be even complaining about things, but are you truly going deep enough within yourself to get to what really needs to change? Because you don't have to stay stuck, suffering in silence and only you can make the ultimate decision for transformation.
Speaker 1:Now, I'm not going to say that taking this step will cause you to all of a sudden win the lottery. Instead of you taking the toll road to work, you're taking the back road to work, because maybe that scenery is just a lot more soothing than the hustle and bustle of traffic on the highways and the toll roads.
Speaker 1:It's also about making sleep a priority. That's an important thing to do. We need to have sufficient rest. We need to eat well, giving our body strength and nutrients. We also need to know when to take breaks and that's not only just physical breaks, but also mental breaks and spiritual breaks to where we're taking time, to where we are really looking within ourselves, to clear our mind. Because how many times have your mind been running and running, and running and you've just been like gosh? I just wish you would just shut up. I'm trying to sleep right now or I'm trying to focus on this task at hand, and I can't because I have all these things running through my mind Instead of you being able to focus on one thing. You're focusing on sending an email, washing dishes, going grocery shopping when, all in all, if you did one step at a time, you'll have them knocked out in no time. Right? So rewind your mind. Includes all the things in the six month.
