Terri O'Sullivan
Terri O’Sullivan is the Apostate Services Development Officer at Faith to Faithless, part of Humanists UK, where she supports people leaving high-control religious groups. Her work includes providing peer and emotional support, raising awareness, and training service providers on the unique challenges faced by apostates—such as homelessness, family estrangement, and community shunning. Drawing on her own lived experience of being expelled from home at 16, Terri went on to found one of the world’s largest former Jehovah’s Witness communities, creating a vital space for solidarity and healing. Today, she combines her personal journey with professional expertise to advocate for greater understanding of religious trauma, while building networks of compassion and resilience for those rebuilding their lives beyond coercive belief systems.
