FMBGN-BIZ-TRC-Trust Is The Strongest Material In Construction
Storms don’t schedule appointments, but smart preparation does. We sit down with Kim Crispino of Titan Residential and Commercial to unpack a practical roadmap for Florida homeowners and business owners: document what you have, fortify what matters, and only hire people who will still be here when the warranty needs them. Kim explains how her team serves the entire state with verified crews, clear scopes, and a culture that puts customer service first—from free inspections and post-storm assessments to window, door, roofing, siding, and generator upgrades that stand up to Florida weather.
We get into the details that save money later: why a window that “looks fine” after a hurricane may have a compromised seal, how moisture creeps in slowly and turns into bigger bills, and which upgrades deliver the best resilience per dollar. Kim breaks down financing options that make high-impact work feasible without overwhelming budgets, and she shares the red flags that signal storm chasers—vanishing contractors, flimsy paperwork, and warranties no one can honor. For mobile homes and flood-prone areas, we explore elevation strategies that prevent repeat losses and reduce stress when the next storm approaches.
Beyond the tool belt, this conversation is about trust and community. Kim highlights TRC’s partnerships with general contractors, public adjusters, and attorneys who rely on accurate punch lists and reliable execution. She also shares her personal commitment to showing up, calling back, and referring clients to the right pros even when it’s outside TRC’s scope. If you want a playbook for resilience—documentation, durable materials, and people who stand by their work—you’ll find it here.
If this conversation helped you plan your next upgrade, subscribe, share with a neighbor, and leave a quick review so more Florida homeowners can storm-proof with confidence.

We wanted to know what I would love to be here in the USA. Good neighbors and love to the soul of our community and every listener. Local stories to the positive vibe of Island Life. Here to celebrate all the big four fire speeches in the Slice of Paradise. Hello. Here's your host, Cabo Jim Schaller.
"Cabo" Jim:There we are. Welcome, good neighbors. Starting off the new year with Kim Crispino from uh Titan Residential and Commercial, correct?
Kim Crispino:Correct. Happy New Year, Jim. Thank you very much for having me on the Good Neighbor podcast. I appreciate it.
"Cabo" Jim:Absolutely. So, New Year, New Things. You've been what in the industry for we won't give it totally away, but for a while, right?
Kim Crispino:For a long time. A long time. I enjoy it. Yes. Brand new uh avenue for me, brand new uh beginnings. I am with Titan Residential and Commercial.
"Cabo" Jim:Very nice.
Kim Crispino:Located here at Lehigh Acres in Florida, servicing all of Florida. Wow. And we are general contractors that partner with other general contractors to assist them with their projects as well as servicing clients, whether you be a homeowner, commercial, uh, from elevations to gutters, roofing, repairs, and new generators, siding. So much we do. So we are there to service our clients, whether you're a homeowner or a commercial, cost-effective solutions, offering superior craftsmanship and workmanship. So great, great A-team we have, great owners. It's a great family, the TRC family. Very good.
"Cabo" Jim:So are they new to Florida? You say they cover the state of Florida.
Kim Crispino:Yes. But they do work outside of the state as well, too, right? They do. They also work in Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin. We do uh have been here for a while, and uh we're great. We're we're excited that we're servicing Florida. Great to be here, and great to see you as well. Yeah, right.
"Cabo" Jim:So we're growing new year, new possibilities, new opportunities. Yes. Speaking about opportunities, there's been a lot of I'm gonna say reconstruction, new construction, lots going on down here. Yes, yes, from storm damage to new construction because of the influx of people moving down here. So you guys have probably been quite busy with a lot of that, right?
Kim Crispino:We do, we service so many different areas, you know. As I mentioned, not only partnering with other general contractors and um working with them, but also post-storm assessments, so needed in Florida, generators. So we work with public adjusters as well, and we are a punch list for attorneys that work in the property claims loss, so that um can give their clients reputable, good, solid people to help them with their roofs or their windows or their doors or generators. So we cover a wide range and we can help people in many ways. So it's not just if it's after storm damage, we can help you prior to storm damage with the uh post-assessments that we do, and we can also assist in new construction, all areas from hospitality, medical, custom home builders, uh whatever we're they're doing, homely home depots. I mean, whatever it is we can do.
"Cabo" Jim:So you cover a big gamut of things, and you know, and obviously after Ian, we had a lot of what we called what storm searchers or oh, we did.
Kim Crispino:Well, Florida was, you know, people saw Florida as the cash cow. And unfortunately, very many, a lot of people were misled, they were taken, they didn't get their services done. Been in again in the industry a extremely long time. And I do love the industry, it's a great place to be, but you do have to be careful. And when whether you're a homeowner, even a general contractor, when you're subbing the workout, you want to make sure that you're hiring qualified people. And I really I've seen a lot of things in this industry, very scary from people that you think are qualified, but they're actually not qualified. So I'm very, very um happy and excited to be part of the TRC family, their culture. We our clients come first. Whether you're commercial again or you're a homeowner, you're a public adjuster, and you need us, whatever you need, we put our client first. We are customer service first with cost-effective solutions because we want you to be happy and we recognize. So, for various service we services that we offer, such as let's say generators, we have financing assistance because we recognize that people need to have these resources available. They they need to do things in order to keep their home up, to not have structural damage. So we try to provide avenues that allows you to get what you need, but where it's not all this pressure at one time. It's the same thing as windows and doors. We provide financing, we can help you with that. It's a costly expense. So we want to work with you to make sure that you're getting top quality workmanship, cost-effective solutions, and you're not sitting there worried. We want to make it so that it's affordable for you, yeah. But also, you know, you're you're feeling good. Like, okay, I can keep up the structure of my home. I don't have to worry about this or worry about that. It's peace of mind. We have enough to worry about.
"Cabo" Jim:Well, and it's some of that is what we call preventative maintenance, so it avoids bigger problems down the line. But then, like you said, with finance, it allows you to do those things in preparation, so you're not paying a big bill down the line. And of course, some of these storm chasers, what happens is they come in, they do their job, and then they're out of the state and they're gone.
Kim Crispino:So when you have a problem, you can't find them, right? There's no warranties, they'll tell you there's a warranty. There's so many people that have been misled, and it's unfortunate. And that's why I again I'm very excited and proud to be part of TRC because we do handle our clients with the utmost respect and we put them first. You know, it's the good neighbor, right? And we talk about this, it's it's nice to be helpful and kind, and that's what we do. We want to help you, whether, and again, even mobile homes. We deal with the mobile home parks, we do the elevations. Uh, a lot of the mobile homes during a hurricane or flooding in Florida are affected. So we can make sure that your home is elevated. It takes that worry out. When you get hit with the weather in Florida that we do, and you spend your hard-earned money and you redo, and you know, you replace your carpets, your furniture, what have you. The last thing you want to do is go through that again. So, you know, again, a lot of services with a lot of options to help the homeowners, the business, so that they can get what they need and give some peace of mind.
"Cabo" Jim:And, you know, unfortunately, one of the side effects of big storms that we've had recently is that um, as a community southwest Florida, we've become very good at prepping for them.
Kim Crispino:We we do, we do, we try very hard. You know, those post those post-storm assessments are important because this way it's on record what is intact in the home or the business. Everything is documented in the event you experience some type of catastrophe, you know, some type of misfortune or what have you. It's all documented there. So it's a preventive measure and it's it's peace of mind. We can't control everything.
"Cabo" Jim:No, but it's it's like going to getting in a car accident and going to the doctor. You may feel okay, but something internally may be wrong, and you're not gonna know until later. But if at least you're documenting where things are, you can identify that issue and take care of it down the line.
Kim Crispino:It's so true. I was doing a presentation at a mobile home park, and I said to them, think of preventive medicine. They looked at me. I said, Well, it's true. If you have allergies, you take an allergy pill and you try to prevent the allergies from getting worse. So think of what you do in your home, think of the your structure, and think of your business. Being in the industry a long time, windows, doors, roofs are so vital to your structure. So if your windows are not functioning properly and they've had a problem, and you think it's gonna go away, you can't band-aid. There are certain things you just don't put a band-aid on.
"Cabo" Jim:Well, it doesn't work. You know, and during hurricanes, the window may still be intact, it may look fine, but you know what happens is the steel gets compromised. That's when the moisture sets coming in. That's when you start having trouble, but you're gonna see it slowly over time, not all at once.
Kim Crispino:Well, you have displacement, you have a rack, the the the sash will be racked. It could be anything, it could be the door, the window doesn't open. Well, when you get a really bad hurricane and the winds, it's those winds, and they compromise the seals, they compromise how the window functions, you can't band-aid that. You need to put a new window in. So, and we come out there, and it is no charge to the homeowner, to property management companies that we also work with, to commercial. And if there's something with windows or doors or roofing or siding, we come out there, it's a free estimate. I come out, free of charge, look at what needs to be done, the scope of work, and then we provide that estimate for you. Very good.
"Cabo" Jim:So, do you notice certain things maybe trending in the industry, changing in the industry, maybe?
Kim Crispino:There's so much happening, there's so many rebuilds, there's so much restoration projects going on. Again, you know, we cater to so many and we can assist so many audiences and clientele. We can assist a restoration company, we can assist again an attorney with a punch list for his clients, a public adjuster, new buildings going up. We can um bid for Stevens construction, we can place bids for D'Angel Steinman. I mean, there's no end to what we can do. We're very, very well-rounded, our teams are superior. And I say this because I take what I do very seriously. I have a passion for what I do, and I want to be treat, I treat people and handle what I do the way I want to be treated, and how I would want to be respected in this industry. And if I'm when we are recommended and people recommend us all the time, and I recommend people also that are not in my arena, but and I love recommending people and helping other people out, and that's what we do. You know, we we we help other people out. That's what it's community, that's what it's all about. Community, I can be called, and then it might be something that TRC doesn't handle, but I will surely direct you in the direction of someone who does. Very good. So let's talk about you for a minute.
"Cabo" Jim:I'm guessing with a little bit of accent, you uh that you're not from Southwest Florida originally.
Kim Crispino:No, I'm not a Floridian, but I was told gone through a hurricane, I'm now a Floridian. I don't know how true that is, but no, uh born and raised in Connecticut, spent a lot of time in Rhode Island, Florida, visited Florida for multiple, multiple, multiple years. And then uh one of my past jobs brought me down here. I was in the Eaves industry, so I started in the Eaves industry, and uh I just stayed. I always loved Florida, I love the uh aura of Florida, I love the state, the sunshine, it's like being in paradise every day, so it's been great. And I've seen, you know, I've seen from COVID, I've been seeing in the industry, I do a lot of networking, that people are becoming more, they're talking more, they want to get it out more, they want to socialize more. Uh ed's very important. Oh, yeah. You know, I I love to um meet new people and see what people do, and I love getting TRC out there and on the map everywhere we can. So um great time, but I do enjoy Florida.
"Cabo" Jim:So what I'm are there certain things that you enjoy doing outside of work? I know you're very busy all the time.
Kim Crispino:I I am, I work a lot. I do I love yoga on the beach, I like to cook Italian food. Um, I enjoy music. I enjoy I like to volunteer, I don't do enough of it. We are members of the chamber. Yeah, we are members of the Pontagorda Chamber of Commerce. We're excited about that. Actually, today I'm going to a ribbon cutting. So that's super cool. Um I uh working on getting involved with Habitat for Humanity. It's important to give back.
"Cabo" Jim:That's it.
Kim Crispino:You know, you you get what you give. And a smile, a hello can make a day change a person's day. Um, and that's what we're all about. You know, we're you work with different types of personalities all the time, right? You have, I do. But always be kind, have a smile, and always cater to your clients because your clients should be catered to. Yeah, they trust you, they believe in you, and when you tell them that you're gonna give them superior, well, that's what you give your clients. Customer service, right? It's not a thing of the past, it's still around. And it needs, you know, when it's come back a little bit old school, really. Um, you're finding more people going back to the old way. It's a handshake, it's your word, it's pounding the pavement, it's having passion in what you do, pride and caring about people. You've got to care about people. I my personal life is no different than my work life, where I care about people, I'm passionate, I love what I do, I love life, I enjoy it, and you know, every day in life is a treasure. It's what do you do with it? That's it. I'm with you.
"Cabo" Jim:So, is there one thing our listeners should know about TRC that maybe they're not too familiar with?
