Some pain doesn’t go away with time or willpower. If you’ve ever felt stuck in the same reactions, the same inner narrative, or the same relationship patterns, this conversation puts language to what many people quietly carry and offers a clear path toward change.

We sit down with Pastor Warren Kooi of Into His Image, a Southwest Florida nonprofit that provides emotional healing and spiritual healing through a structured “Restoring the Foundations” approach. Warren explains how the ministry looks for roots beneath the surface, including generational issues, wrong beliefs, fractured identity, life traumas, and spiritual strongholds. We talk about why those roots can block joy, patience, and self-control, and how healing can be both deeply spiritual and surprisingly practical.

You’ll also hear what the process actually looks like: a five-day sequential ministry format (about 10 to 15 hours), plus two- and four-week follow-ups to help people stay steady after the work is done. We get specific about couples ministry too, where each spouse completes individual sessions before coming back together for forgiveness, restored connection, and the option to renew their marriage covenant. For listeners outside Florida, Warren shares how Zoom ministry and Zoom training make this accessible from anywhere, along with the training pathway from issue-focused ministry to thorough-format ministry.

Gail Langner

Well, hello, it's Gail Langner with State Insurance Cares, a part of State Insurance USA right here in Southwest Florida. My guest today is Pastor Warren Kooi, and he is with Into His Image. And we're so excited to have you on the podcast today, Warren.

Pastor Warren Kooi

Thank you. It's great to be here.

Into His Image Healing Mission

Gail Langner

Well, tell our listeners exactly what is Into His Image.

Pastor Warren Kooi

So Into His Image is a ministry that brings emotional healing and spiritual healing to people all around the world. And we do this through an integrated approach of ministering to things like things generational issues, wrong beliefs, fractured identities, life traumas, and spiritual strongholds. We do this as we completely trust our Father God and Jesus to provide the healing as we lead our receivers through this ministry time. We also do training to uh bring others uh into being able to do this ministry.

Gail Langner

If um how would a person know, like, are they like stuck in life? Do they find themselves not believing in themselves? I mean, how do you identify somebody that would be good for this particular program that you have?

Pastor Warren Kooi

Well, to be honest, um we all could use this program, but you think about um how the Lord describes the fruits of the spirit in uh in his his words, and we just pretty much say anything that anyone that's not walking completely in the fruits of the spirit, there's a reason for that. And they may or may not even know um why they are where they are, while they're not experienced joy and patience and self-control and all the other fruits of the spirit. But there are spiritual roots to all those things that that um they deal with, and so our ministry will deal with all those roots. Now, someone could come in crisis,

Signs You Feel Stuck

Pastor Warren Kooi

and we've had that, and some people come just because they want to draw closer to the Lord and find what he has for them as their best life.

Gail Langner

Okay, all right. So I know you and um your wife Jan, um, how do how did you come into this program? Um, and how long have you been doing it? I'm just curious.

Pastor Warren Kooi

Well, as a background, um my wife Jan and I have been in ministry of some sort for 28 years. Um, through the years, we've used several forms of ministry to bring spiritual and emotional healing to individuals and couples. But eight years ago, we were trained in a process called restoring the foundations. And we found that right away we recognized the uniqueness of this particular process. Uh, restoring the foundations ministry brings long-lasting healing in a short amount of time. So we decided to make it our goal to bring this healing to as many people as possible. And so we established our nonprofit into his image as a as a funding and ministry base for the ministry.

Gail Langner

Okay. And you're in Bonita, is that correct?

Pastor Warren Kooi

That's correct.

Gail Langner

Okay, all

Five-Day Restoring The Foundations

Gail Langner

right. And so, what would the program look like? Like how many sessions is it that um the people would spend with UNGN?

Pastor Warren Kooi

Oh, that's a great question. Um, unlike counseling, uh our restoring the foundations uses an integrated five-day sequential ministry process because this approach brings healing to all these different issues, the generational things, things we've inherited from our ancestors, um, wrong beliefs. Uh, we grow up and and it's it's and I'm sorry, we grow up and sometimes things in our life that we receive or don't receive make us believe things about ourselves, about others, even about God that just aren't true and aren't according to his word. So we minister to those um wrong beliefs. We minister to fractured identities, um, things the way we see ourselves, kind of I am statements. We also minister to life traumas and spiritual strongholds. This is a five-day, 10 to 15 hour process, and we completely trust our Father God and Jesus to bring the healing. And our job is to just set the table to lead people through the ministry process.

Gail Langner

Okay, so it would be five days in a row, probably what, two or three hours a day, maybe? Or okay, all right.

Pastor Warren Kooi

Do you minister to

Couples Care And Follow-Up

Pastor Warren Kooi

couples as well? Or just we yes, we do. Um, and couples ministry looks identical to individual ministry for the most part, the same individual sessions. Each each husband and wife would go through the five sessions individually, and then we bookmark those sessions with an introductory session where we take the temperature of the marriage and just see how the couple relates and what their main issues, marital issues are. And then at the very end, we bring them back together for another session where they explore with each other the healing that they've received, ask forgiveness, receive forgiveness, and and most of the time, in fact, all the time, we offer them the ability to renew their marriage covenant.

Gail Langner

Do you do, excuse me, do you do any type of like a follow-up? Do you check do they check in with you in a couple of months just to, you know, see how they're doing, or or pretty much once the five sessions are done, um they've they go on with their lives? Right.

Pastor Warren Kooi

How does that work? Oh, we do a a two and a four-week follow-up call with them to see that. Um and also um many of the we we've established relationships with many of them also, so we continue that relationship informally.

Gail Langner

Okay. All right.

Zoom Ministry And Training

Gail Langner

Well, um, we were um just just talking about um Jim that is our that uh does the podcast for us uh is going to Wisconsin to see his mom. What if somebody lived in Wisconsin? Could they could they zoom? Do you have have a Zoom opportunity for somebody that doesn't live in the area?

Pastor Warren Kooi

Or yes, that's a good question. Also, we we can um minister through Zoom. We find that uh live ministry is is more rewarding for us. It's availability uh to read um body language and things like that better, but it is very successful by Zoom also, and we have done ministry by Zoom. We also do a lot of training through Zoom.

Gail Langner

Okay, all right. So obviously, there are people that would maybe once they've been through the the process themselves, would also like to train like you do. Is there an opportunity for that?

Pastor Warren Kooi

There is, there is. Um, there are actually two levels of ministry, and we start the training with what's called issue-focused ministry. It's a similar process, but dealing with just a single issue in a person's life. Um, it could be anything from addiction to um abandonment or um anger and bitterness, a single issue over three hours a time, and that's the beginning training process. We offer that training, and that that takes about a total of 50 hours. Some of it's watching videos, reading a book, and then there's um live training or Zoom training where they're actually doing ministry, and we lead them through that process.

Gail Langner

Okay, all right.

Pastor Warren Kooi

And yeah, then after they become experienced in in issue-focused ministry, they can go on and and um become what we call thorough format ministers, and that's that's what Jen and I do mostly. That's the one that I explained to you before. And that's probably 150 hours total of training. Wow, okay.

Gail Langner

Right. Wow. Well, that's really, really interesting.

Contact, Donations, And Future Vision

Gail Langner

Well, I know that um there's another there's another website. I know that um originally when I was researching into his image, there's another website. So I just want to make sure intohisimage.com is your website, correct?

Pastor Warren Kooi

That's correct.

Gail Langner

Okay, all right, into his image.com. So how would they um can they reach you? Could they call you, email you? How how would that work? Yeah, if somebody wanted to to you know be in in your sessions, right.

Pastor Warren Kooi

Our phone numbers on the website as well as um they can just um write to into his or info at into hisimage.com, okay, and that will connect us with them.

Gail Langner

Okay, all right. And if someone wanted to donate to you, like State Insurance Cares did to help with your ministry, is there a button on your website where people could do that? Donate.

Pastor Warren Kooi

Yes, it's it's uh there's a QR code at the top, and there's also other instructions throughout the website to do that.

Gail Langner

All right, awesome, great. Well, Pastor Warren, is there anything that you would like anybody to know about this before we wrap up here today? Is there anything you feel like maybe we didn't touch on that you would really like our listeners to know?

Pastor Warren Kooi

Sure. Um again, as I said before, we have there's three aspects of our ministry. There's um the training aspect, there's the preparing for ministry, and then directly ministering. So our the typical day, we're dealing with one of those three things, as well as the administrative parts that are standard to any organization. Sure, right. But you know, we we do cooperate with other ministers, ministries in the area, and we really have a vision to be a part of a Christian healing center where people can actually come and receive ministry and training. Um, you know, Southwest Florida is beautiful beaches, beautiful weather. People like to come here. And if if if they in fact, we've had people come here from as far away as as um Washington State and Haiti to receive the ministry here. But having a place to stay while they're that would be ideal. Oh ministry center. It's a vision that we'd love to see happen someday.

Gail Langner

Well, that's wonderful down the road, right? Well, thank you so much for being on the podcast today. Um, Pastor Warren Kooi with Into His Image. Uh, we appreciate you taking the time to be with us today.

Pastor Warren Kooi

Thank you, Gail. It's an honor to be here. Thank
