Speaker 1:

Hey guys, this is the Power of Oxygen First podcast and I'm your host, dot Rock. I am an entrepreneur, a mom, a stepmom and a scaling consultant who is obsessed with the art of hiring, support and that dirty word we call delegation. I'm a recovering perfectionist who pushed my body and my limits to the extreme until one fateful day I learned that, just like pilots, I needed to take care of myself first. This podcast is all about the journey to healing, to getting clear on the desires of your heart, stepping into them with courage and leaning into and asking for support. I hope you feel inspired to do less, to follow your passions and infuse them into your daily life and truly claim the life you were meant to live. Hello, my podcast friends. Okay, welcome to the quick and dirty Thursday episode where we are going to do a little add-on to the hard reset. So the hard reset for divorce, episode two came out on Tuesday and I want to expand just a little bit about what type of practices we would use in hard reset, in hiring and delegating. So isn't that fun? So just remember, here, on the Power of oxygen first, we are really exploring the art of self-care, the bravery of becoming and the radical act of putting yourself first, but also putting your business yourself first in your business, so that you're not the only one always doing it all by yourself. Now, if you don't own a business, just think about how you could explore some of this in the workplace. As you know, I'm Dot Rock and today's episode is a follow-up conversation about the hard reset after divorce, but we're doing it a little bit with the hard reset in hiring and delegating, so we're not just talking here about what happens with ourselves. We're talking about how we could invite support into our lives and our businesses.

Speaker 1:

One of the biggest lessons that I've learned is that I cannot thrive alone my life, my business, my home but asking for support, asking for help at home and in my business, still feels vulnerable, and this is what I teach people right. It still feels really vulnerable, especially in the seasons where independence has become a survival mechanism. Independence has become a survival mechanism. This past year has been a lot about safety physical and emotional safety for myself and my son and that has made business interesting and it's made me shut've never leaned against until this year, and so I'm trying to get back into having some support in my home beyond my handyman, who tends to come about once a month, but back into cleaning support and back into having a personal assistant. So I am leaning back into that.

Speaker 1:

But for my business and my home life I'm really looking at hiring and delegating inventory and taking that inventory and seeing once again where am I trying to do everything myself out of fear of letting go, out of fear of my safety emotionally or physically, and what tasks are really draining my energy but could be passed on to someone else. And what would it feel like to receive support without guilt or apology? I know it's big stuff, take a deep breath. But if the hard reset is about dissolving old patterns, then delegation is actually an act of self-trust. It's saying I am worthy of support, I deserve to be held too. Whether it's hiring a housekeeper or bringing on a virtual assistant or simply asking a friend for help, it really all counts.

Speaker 1:

Every choice to delegate is a vote for your own thriving. It's a vote for you and I get it. The money stuff comes up, the time comes up. But if you have a real desire to get something off your plate, what ways can you take small steps towards that? Just remember becoming is not a race, it's an unraveling and it is a homecoming. It's your pace and it's your path, and wherever you are in your hard reset journey, whether it's still deep in the dismantling or just beginning to glimpse what's next, know this You're not behind, you're not broken and you are simply becoming. Keep giving yourself permission to move at your own pace for your own healing, to build a life that fits who you are now and who your business is now. Who you are now and who your business is now, not who you used to be, not what it used to be. Once again, take a deep breath, trust the process and remember oxygen first, always in our personal lives and in our businesses. And every time we take a step towards delegating, we are taking a step towards ourselves, and we are taking a step towards ourselves and we are taking a step towards receiving what we truly deserve. Sending you light and love. Happy Thursday.
