The Divorce to Bliss Podcast

Why Men Need Each Other When Healing From Divorce

• Rachel S. Ruby

It used to be that men had a tribe - the young boys were initiated into the tribe at a certain age and they learned from the men how to be a man. They hunted together and sat around the fire listening to stories from the elders, learning the essence of being a man in their world, with plenty of strong examples to follow. There are some parts of the world where these rites still exist, but for most men in modern times that is sadly not the case.

In today's busy world many cultures no longer have an initiation process or support groups for boys, and many boys do not have male figures in their lives to teach them what it means to be a man. But the great news is that things have been changing. There are wonderful men out there who provide support for others, a place where they can feel validated and grow as men together, where they can learn how to be both pillars of strength and still be in touch with their emotions - to embody their masculinity. These relationships help men live better, heal and thrive - from divorce and in life.

Join Rachel for this informative podcast as she chats with coach Quentin ("Q") Williams - mental performance coach and facilitator for men and male athletes - about why it is important for men to have connection with other men and to be emotionally intelligent.
