Bertin Antonio is a  passionate poetry enthusiast and the co-founder of  Firme Voices Poetry community.  

In addition to his dedication to the world of poetry, Bertin is a staunch culture advocate for Mexican Americans. Through his work, he seeks to celebrate and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Mexican American community, using poetry as a medium to bridge generations and connect people through shared experiences.

A dedicated community organizer, tirelessly working to create spaces where individuals can share their voices and stories.

Johnie Guerra

Johnie J. Guerra was born in Oklahoma during his father's military service in the U.S. Army at Fort Sill. His family hails from Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and Brownsville, Texas. After completing his own military service at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, he fell in love with San Antonio and decided to make it his home. He earned a bachelor's degree in Mexican American Studies at The University of Texas at San Antonio, which sparked his poetry writing. His poetry reflects pride in Chicano identity and illuminates Chicano history. He employs English, Spanish, Spanglish, and Nahuatl and incorporates ancient Mesoamerican beliefs. His work seeks to 
reveal what it means to be Chicano in the twenty-first-century United States.
