Show Notes

The Gardenangelists, Dee and Carol, talk about daffodils and how easy they are to grow and how most critters won't touch them.  And for those new to growing vegetables, they cover a range of topics including the benefits of raised beds and which plants to grow from seed and which to buy plants for.  One of the best reasons to grow your own vegetables is to ensure you are getting vegetable grown without pesticides! For example,  easy-to-grow kale has been named number 3 in the Dirty Dozen of pesticide-laden vegetables. But kale is so good for you. Grow your own or buy organic.  If you'd like to make your own kale chips, Dee has a recipe on her blog.

For all the best dirt, they recommend listeners tune in to episodes of BBC's Gardeners World with host Monty Don. New episodes are sometimes available for a short time on YouTube and past seasons are available through streaming services, including BritBox.
