I'm Amy Erhart, the host of Diaries of a Heart Warrior; born with a Congenital Heart Defect (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome-HLHS). I'm creating this podcast to bring you stories told by individuals living with a Congenital Heart Defect. Episodes will also include the parent(s) point of view on how it felt to receive the diagnosis of their child; what they wish they knew and what life looks like now. Meagan's Story- HLHS / Adoption Journey
Meagan shares the process her and her husband went through to gain a precious gift. When it comes to children, we so often we don't realize how hard it is for CHD patients. Going through testing to make sure our hearts are strong enough, to making a final decision of how we want to bring a child into our lives. So many emotions are placed on overdrive in what should be one of the most joyous times of our lives and those emotions just don't fade away. We are always carrying those with us in so many ways that seem not to make sense.
