Welcome back to Vaguely Inconsistent. I'm Jack here with my good buddies Lewis and Duke. We've got a packed show for you today some football talk, thanksgiving vibes and, of course, a healthy dose of chaos.
Speaker 2:Chaos is right, especially after today's Vikings game.
Speaker 3:Yeah, Duke's been unbearable since kickoff ended.
Speaker 1:Let's get into it, Duke. Why don't you kick us off?
Speaker 2:Oh, I'd be happy to my Vikings beat the Bears 30-27, and let me just say chef's kiss. Kirk Cousins was on fire and the defense sealed the deal when it counted. Honestly, this season's looking great for us Skol baby.
Speaker 3:Honestly, this season's looking great for us Skol baby. Congrats, duke. Meanwhile, my Steelers didn't have as much luck. We lost to the Browns 24-19. I'll admit it was a good game, though hard-fought, exciting to watch just didn't fall our way. You've been surprisingly zen about that loss.
Speaker 1:Hey, gotta find joy somewhere right. Speaking of joy, or the lack of it, I was at the Raiders-Broncos game today. Raiders lost 29-19. It was close at the end. We almost scored in the final moments, but it just wasn't happening. And to top it off, gardner Minshew got hurt, so we had to roll with our third string QB Ritter.
Speaker 3:It was rough but you know, at least the hot dogs were good Oof tough break.

Speaker 2:Fair point, but I think we can acknowledge the history while still appreciating the modern-day meaning for families.
Speaker 1:Look at you two being all civil, I'm impressed.
Speaker 3:Don't get used to it.
Speaker 1:Anyway, I've always liked Thanksgiving for the reasons Duke mentioned family and togetherness. Growing up in North Carolina, I'd spend Thanksgiving at my grandmother's house with all my cousins. Plus, I love the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Those floats and mini-Broadway shows Amazing.
Speaker 2:I can't believe you wake up early just for that.
Speaker 1:It's tradition, and when I had Wednesday through Thursday off, Thanksgiving was my only guaranteed holiday with my wife and daughters. This year I'm working, but hey, weekends off make up for it. Only 14 years until retirement and those old school Thanksgivings again.
Speaker 3:That's the spirit. Speaking of traditions, let's talk Black Friday. Jack, I know you've got stories.
Speaker 1:Oh, absolutely Back in the day, I'd camp out with my wife and brother in front of Target or Best Buy, and when I had Fridays off, Liu and I would spend hours hunting for deals mostly.
Speaker 3:DVDs and Blu-rays. Those were good times. I still enjoy the hunt, though I stick to online deals now.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I'm not as into it. I stream most of my movies and don't play many video games these days. But hey, if there's a good deal, I'll snack something.
