What's Really Blocking You From Having Everything You Want?
What if the only thing standing between you and everything you've ever wanted is the belief that you don't deserve it? That's the powerful question at the heart of this transformative episode.

When thoughts like "I can't have that job," "I'll never find that partner," or "That kind of success isn't for someone like me" dominate our internal dialogue, we unconsciously block what we want from entering our lives.

Through creating space for self-awareness, challenging false narratives, consciously choosing new empowering truths, and developing unwavering certainty in what you deserve, you can completely rewire your relationship with possibility. Hello, beautiful souls. Welcome to this week's episode. I am so happy to have you here with me today. I am saying hello to you from this beautiful town in the southern part of Italy. We have been here, my husband and I, for the last couple of weeks, but I just got back, actually, from a retreat that I have done a few times before I've actually shared about it in another podcast episode where I get together with this group of girls. It was our third time getting together and we always get together and it's kind of like a time to just open up and work through whatever things are coming up in our life that are really keeping us from stepping into that ultimate version of us, and I love doing this.
Speaker 1:I think it's so necessary for us to create some time for us to do these things and make some time to come back to ourselves to work through whatever you might need to work on. I think taking time for the self to do those kinds of things are super life-changing. Honestly, most of us don't really allow ourselves enough time to do those things I feel like a lot of people want to do. You know the yearly vision boards or goals, or you know all of these other things and even doing something like this, just taking time it doesn't matter what time of the year it is, it doesn't matter when it is of the year it is, it doesn't matter when it is, I think, at least once a year and sitting with yourself to kind of see where you want to go and to allow yourself to really be in that and be in that vision of dreaming and thinking of all of these possibilities and then also taking the time to see what is holding you back, what beliefs, what patterns, what mental blocks that you might have that are just not allowing you to step into that version of you. And that's what these retreats really allow me to do. And this also ties into another episode that I recorded a couple of weeks ago. It was speaking yourself well about how the way that we speak can heal our body and how powerful our voice is and what we choose to say, how much weight that carries. And this translates into any aspect of our life, not just health.
Speaker 1:And that's what I wanted to focus on today is why is it that some of us don't get what we want out of life? Why is it that we've been trying to manifest or bring into reality, whatever you want to call it. You're actively working towards something in your life and it's not working. And the fundamental thing that is important here the lowest building block that you are going to be working with is that you need to believe that you are worthy of that. If you don't believe that, you will never be able to have any of these things. So this is where it begins. It begins with the self-belief that you are worthy, and it's like so many of us want certain things right, and it just kind of shows up in our mind of like, when you want something and you're like, oh, but that can't be for me, it's like, oh, I can't have a job that pays me $200,000 a year, or I can't live in a beautiful house on the beach, or I can't have a partner who is loving and supportive and also have my dream career. Those things are what block us from actually being able to step into what we want. So if we are trying to call something into our life, if you don't believe you can hold that reality, if you have self-doubt, wherever that might stem from, you are never going to be able to call it into your life, and this is something that's really worth thinking about, like this should be just as important as doing the goals, doing the vision boards, you know, dreaming up all the things.
Speaker 1:Most people self-sabotage and are never able to do everything that they set out to do 100%, and a lot of that comes from this mindset. There is an underlying belief that they're not capable of doing it. We can self-sabotage ourselves. There's so many reasons, but most of it comes of I can't do that. It's not in my reality. Those are the thoughts that come into our mind. They continue to confirm that same thing I can't have this, I can't have that job, I can't have that body. It's not for me. I'm not that kind of person that can make that amount of money or have that kind of partner or be that kind of woman. Those are the thoughts that are keeping us in the same place and we just get stuck in these same mental loops that continue to reaffirm that belief. It's the. I am not worthy, I can't achieve that, I can't do X, y, whatever it is that you want.
Speaker 1:So what is the process like for us to break that and create something for ourselves? Because, knowing how important this is, how it builds onto everything that you have, this is what we need to focus on. This is the most important thing, and it goes for any area of your life that you are trying to create something new for yourself, a new way of being, a new way of wanting to live your life, a new body, a new partner, whatever it is that you want. This goes for any aspect of life, and the first thing that we need to look at is creating enough space, essentially, for us to recognize it, to notice it. We need to have enough self-awareness for us to know that it exists, essentially, because that's what keeps most of us in our same loop is that we're not self-aware enough to know that, oh, this thought is keeping me in the same place. So what we need to do is create space, or do something that creates space for us, for us to be able to notice it, and this looks like a lot of different things Self-awareness, creating space.
Speaker 1:That is going to be very different for each person, but I like meditating, and journaling is also something that is very powerful here. It can just be doing nothing like having quiet time where you don't really do anything, you can contemplate, you can go on a quiet walk. I don't know what this is going to look like for you. But you need to just create some kind of space for you, because in that space you will gain the awareness of how much power some of these thoughts have over your life, essentially. But we need to notice them. So we are creating space in order to notice them and recognize. Oh my gosh, these thoughts actually don't serve me. And that is our first step journaling.
Speaker 1:You've meditated, or you just you're self-aware enough. When they're in your mind, you're like, hey, this is a self-deprecating thought. This thought that I can't create a business and work 20 hours a week, that thought is limiting me. Why is that true? Why does that have to be the truth? Why can't it be for me? You need to challenge it, because our thoughts are not truth most of the time. Most of the things that we think about our fears, our anxieties never really actually happen. They are something our mind creates, and just as swiftly as we have these thoughts that probably have been with us for a very long time, maybe our whole life we have the ability to create new ones. But you need to know that just because it comes through your mind does not make it a truth. That is not what this is. You need to know that this also can be something completely different. So I urge you to challenge it and you can do this writing down. You can just talk to yourself. However you best process things, you can have a conversation with a friend about it, someone who might be in a similar path to you, who speaks a similar language. But it's like why is this true? Why can't the exact opposite be true for me? And then you come to realize that if this thought can create so much negativity in my life and tinge so much of my life without even knowing why can't I choose something better? Why can't I choose another opportunity, another truth for me, another way of being? And this is where we get to choose something better.
Speaker 1:So if you are journaling this or writing this down, it's like you can create a list with every limiting belief or personal lie it's what Jenna Zoe calls them as well or truth that you have had in your mind when you were envisioning wanting to do certain things. It's like what are those things for you? And just taking the time to write them down and now writing the exact opposite of that, it's like what would the exact opposite of that personal lie or that limited reality be for you. So if we're talking about I can't have a job that pays me $200,000 a year, we can say I can effortlessly have a career, that loving and kind partner who adores me and who wants to see me succeed. You know, if you're wanting to have a partner and your career, it's just completely changed that story. You need to change that story and that's what you're going to do here.
Speaker 1:So, next to every personal lie, every limited belief, every false reality that you have created for yourself, you are going to write the exact opposite of that. And now that you are self-aware enough, you know that that personal belief can't be true, because why should it be if you can so easily choose something else for yourself? Now, in those moments where they still show up, it is up to you to choose something better, and this takes time. I also want to say that and this will look different for everyone but sometimes these beliefs have been with us for such a long time and even though you might start adding in your new reality, your new affirmation, your new truth, it might not always feel like. This is true for me. The more that you do it, the more you will feel into that energy.
Speaker 1:The thing is is you need to show up and do it. You need to choose something different. If you don't start, you're never going to get there. You're never going to be able to do that. For some of us, it might be easier. You might be like you know what, I'm letting this go and I'm getting something new in. I'm choosing something new for myself and from that day forward, you will just keep choosing that thing for yourself. And this is where something else comes in is you have to just simply have certainty.
Speaker 1:When you start using this new reality, you need to know that this is going to happen to you and that it is inevitable. It comes again to believing in what you deserve, what you are capable of achieving. You need to know in your heart and soul that you have the ability to create whatever it is that you want. So you need to believe in that, even if it's not fully there yet. But in every moment that this thought shows up, the negative one that's been there, that's kept you small in other aspects of your life. Now you are going to choose your new affirmation, your new truth, every moment of the day, and you're going to continue to affirm yourself that new truth and slowly and surely, it will come into your reality, because what is going on within us manifests in the three-dimensional world. So you need to believe with your heart and soul that this is what's meant for you, and you can write these truths down in your journal. You can have your new ones on your phone, somewhere where you see them. Have them somewhere that you can easily look at them and come back to them, because you want to keep reaffirming these things for yourself, and eventually they will come into your life. That will be who you are. You are going to be the person that has that job that pays them $200,000 a year, without a shadow of a doubt. You are going to be that person that has that strong, vibrant body that you love and feel confident in, that's energized and full of life. You're going to be that person, that woman, who has the space and the ability to hold a loving partner and to create a wonderful life together.
Speaker 1:And the one last thing that I wanted to touch on is sometimes, when we are working towards creating something new for ourselves, it might not always show up how we wanted when we wanted. And the one last thing that I want to look at is that know that it's going to be whatever you are calling into your life or something better, because you are co-creating with the universe, with God, with whatever it is that you believe in. You are there with them, doing this together. And sometimes, if we knew what we were meant for in our life, it would be maybe a bit too much for us. And when we think about what we want out of life, what we envision, when we really allow ourselves to dream, I don't think we realize that our dreams are really just the beginning of the potential that we have in this life. We limit ourselves so much without even knowing.
Speaker 1:So know that it could be what you are calling in or something better, but it could take time because you also need to be in a place to hold that reality. So know that it could be whatever you want, whatever you're calling in or something that's going to completely blow you away, and maybe the universe is just trying to give you a little bit of time for you to get there, for you to feel like, no, I am worthy, I am capable, I trust in myself. And there is that certainty and once it listens to your prayer, your devotion, and it feels like you can handle something bigger, it will give it to you. So you need to have that certainty. Whatever you are calling in or something better, if it's not showing up then it's probably something better and you need to hold on to that. You need to trust that, you need to detach. You can't hold on to things too tightly because that's also not the energy that we need to be calling things into our life.
Speaker 1:That's the polarizing energy. It takes us away from this energy of abundance of potential because we feel like we are lacking in some way. So, while you are on this journey of creating a new reality for yourself because, lo and behold, we get to do that at any moment in life we get to choose to be someone different tomorrow, today, right in this moment, like you can choose a new reality for yourself, and I think that's one of the most incredible things is that we have all of these opportunities, all of this potential, and sometimes we just limit ourselves and keep ourselves small without knowing so. Notice what thoughts have come up while you were listening to this. What are those things that are keeping you small, that are keeping you in the same place, and create a new ulterior reality for yourself a new truth, a new way of being, a new truth, a new way of being, because that's what it's going to be. You are going to carry on with it and it will just be who you are. Whatever that truth is for you, it will go through life, with you.
Speaker 1:And while you are manifesting and creating and calling in all of these wonderful things into your life, also just enjoy the process. Enjoy creating whatever it is that you are creating in your life, because it's so much fun to think of our future and all of the things that we want to have in our life. But I think it's also so important, while we're doing that, to just really enjoy where we are and this process of creating your new life, brick by brick, day by day, little by little. Make it sustainable, you know, have fun with it.
Speaker 1:I know I've said this before, but you're never going to be here again in this version of your life and there's so much that we can learn by being here and right now, in this moment, we're learning to let go of whatever isn't serving us, whatever thoughts or, you know, limited beliefs, lies that have kept us small, and really step into our power, step into that version of you, that you want to be your ultimate self, your most vibrant, abundant self.
Speaker 1:You can do that right now. If you want to do that, like right now, if you want to and hold on to that, have fun with that creating that version of you. And if she doesn't let certain things hold her back, let go of those beliefs. You don't need to carry them. They served maybe for a version of your life, but they don't need to be with you your entire life. You're stepping into something new, so go do that.
