Journey To The Soul

Reclaiming Your Power

Jacenda Villa

Ever found yourself drowning in well-meaning advice, only to realize the one voice you're not listening to is your own? That's exactly where I found myself after three years of intensive healing protocols, countless supplements, and a never-ending state of "fixing" my body.

This episode dives deep into my personal awakening moment when I realized I had been giving my power away to practitioners and protocols that, while initially helpful, no longer served my highest good. The breaking point came with a simple but profound insight: "Your body is tired of just being told what to do." Those words crystallized what I'd been feeling for months—a misalignment so strong that it was likely counteracting any physical benefits I might have been receiving.

We explore the subtle ways we surrender our authority to others—seeking approval before making decisions, ignoring our body's signals because they contradict expert advice, or feeling inadequate in our knowledge. This pattern shows up differently for everyone, but the result is the same: disconnection from our most powerful guide—our intuition.

Whether you're navigating health challenges, career decisions, or relationship crossroads, this conversation offers a gentle reminder that you hold the power to determine what's best for you. Your truth doesn't need to make sense to anyone else; it only needs to resonate with you. I share practical insights on recognizing your intuitive language and honoring it, even when it leads you away from conventional wisdom. Are you ready to reclaim your power and trust yourself again? This episode might just be the permission slip you've been waiting for.

Speaker 1:

Hello, hello, hello. Welcome to this week's episode. I hope you all are having a beautiful week so far, wherever you are listening. We just went through the summer solstice, which is so exciting. I hope you are enjoying the longer days, the hotter days as well, but all the juiciness that comes with summer. If you happen to be in the southern hemisphere, then you're gonna be in winter, and if so, I. Then you're going to be in winter, and if so, I hope you enjoy this cozy time of year. But I absolutely adore the equinoxes, the solstices, I love feeling the changes of the season. I think that there's something that we all feel, whether we know it or not, so I am actually going to be recording a podcast for you in the next week or so of how you can celebrate and tune into this changing of season, but when you're listening to this episode, it will already be summer.

Speaker 1:

So I hope you are enjoying this new turning of the page, a start of a fresh, new chapter in this year of your life, and for today's episode, I wanted to share something that has been going on in my life or that I have been working through, and it's something that I wanted to share with you all because I think it is something that any single one of us could take into consideration, and it's super important because sometimes I feel like we're not even aware of how it happens and that's how we give our power away to other people and ultimately we know what's best for us. There is not a single person in the world that knows what is true and right for you Not your mom, your sister, your brother, any family member, your aunt, uncle, friends, you know, doctors. Any person that is not you is not going to know what is right for you. And I think that for a lot of us, we give our power away without even knowing, and a lot of that has to do with us being afraid to put a boundary down, to kind of ruffle feathers to make other people feel more comfortable, and us sometimes just being afraid to speak up about what is right for us, or us feeling like we are unsure about what is right for us too.

Speaker 1:

That could also come from upbringing. Maybe you were brought up in an environment that made you feel like everything that you did wasn't right, so you questioned a lot of what you did. Maybe you were constantly felt like everything that you did was not right or not enough in some way, and therefore that could show up as you feeling like you don't know what's best for you, and that's something that a lot of us experience right, and it could also come from just the abundance of information in the world. Today More than ever. We have so much information all around us and sometimes you know, with health and wellness things, it's like you don't even know what the right thing for you to do is with that, because you're listening to this person and they're telling you to do this, and then you're listening to another person and they're saying to do the complete opposite, to do this and then you're listening to another person and they're saying to do the complete opposite, and ultimately, you are going to be the one that makes that decision for yourself.

Speaker 1:

And I wanted to share with you all how that's looked for me in my life more recently, and it's been something that I've opened up about in other podcast episodes, but it's how I've been on this physical healing journey for the last couple of years, and I'm talking more about the physical aspect, but I know that this is something that encompassed for me, at least in this chapter, it was really mind, body, soul. I was going through a big evolution in my life and it was affecting every aspect of my life, but really my physical body, my physical being, and there have been so many physical things that I have been working through, you know, from years of having an eating disorder, from unhealthy mental and emotional patterns that I held, and just generational things that I really felt like I came into this life to work through so that my future generations don't have to work through it anymore. No-transcript physical ailment after physical ailment, and they were very real things. I still struggle with a few of them, but everything that I focused on, everything that I was trying to heal, were very real things in my day-to-day experience.

Speaker 1:

But I came to a point a couple of months ago where I was just tired of being in this place, of seeing practitioner after practitioner, you know, because I don't really see doctors. I see holistic doctors, you know, integrative medicine doctors so many different, basically anyone who is just not a doctor and I've been seeing them for years trying to work through all these very layered things that were showing up in my body. And I have been on countless of protocols, you know, taking so many supplements for months at a time that this has kind of been what I've been living for over three years. Just. There would be days where I would take 20 different pills, you know, and after a while you just get tired of it.

Speaker 1:

But it's also that you just you're just constantly in a state of healing and there's this one practitioner that I feel really good about and who I've been seeing and who, with her help, thankfully, I have been able to make leaps and bounds in my healing, you know, with my gut and with my hormones and so many other things. And it wasn't perfect and there was still other things to address, but I really did make a lot of progress with her, and every time that I saw her I just felt like I might never be a hundred percent perfect, even though I feel like she did have my best interest at heart. What she wanted for me and what I wanted for myself were no longer the same things, and that was something that I realized a couple of months ago is that for her, you know, the best thing for me might be me being on protocols still for another year to work through the things that she felt like I still needed to work through, and I just knew that that wasn't going to happen. Because after three plus years of constantly taking supplements and having to adapt your life to do all of these things and to get the most out of it and to just be in this constant state of healing and to be on elimination diets or X, y and Z it's like after a while you just get tired. Elimination diets or X, y and Z it's like after a while you just get tired. And that energy of it not feeling good is the energy of misalignment, and that energy does more harm for our body than good. So it completely goes against me trying to heal my body because if it's not coming from the right energy, it's going to do more harm than good.

Speaker 1:

And that was something that I just came to realize. And I think what I struggle with is that I'm forever on a journey of trying to deeply understand what's going on. I want to not know what's going on at a surface level, but, particularly like with my health or really with anything in my life, I really want to know what's going on. I have a deep desire to understand. So what I tend to do is that with any journey that I'm on, I'm going to go on that journey and learn about every single thing I possibly can while I'm on it, and that's how I learn and I grow. But particularly with health matters, you know, really with anything, it's like you can't be in that state forever because at some point it's not supportive.

Speaker 1:

And I came to this realization. It was kind of twofold. It was me noticing that the energy that I was having towards these protocols, that I was spending a lot of time, energy, resources to go on for years, wasn't feeling right for me anymore. Like, even though that's what the paper says or my test says or what the doctor says, that just wasn't feeling good anymore. It was starting to feel like a pain in the butt, you know, it was starting to feel just very heavy.

Speaker 1:

And the kind of the nail on the coffin for this situation was I had a conversation with a friend of mine and she is a psychic and we were talking about this and she was telling me that my body is tired of just being told what to do, of just being told what to do, and essentially that it just wanted space. It wants me to choose what it wants. And I already knew that before I had this conversation with her, because for months I had just been feeling the same thing, just completely misaligned with the path that I had been so devoted to for so long. And I'm also just someone that when I decide to do something I go all in. So after a while it's really hard for me to kind of change that trajectory, unless, obviously, I come to a new realization. So that's kind of what happened here and after that conversation with her I was just so tired of constantly feeling like there was something being wrong with me and that I didn't know what was best for myself and that other people knew better.

Speaker 1:

I think that's something more an internal thing that I struggle with sometimes, because I feel like sometimes I don't know enough. But the reality is that most of us know what is right for us and it's up to us to really tune into something when it doesn't feel aligned for us anymore. And I think that this is where being in tune with your intuition and how that sounds like for you can be super supportive with anything in your life. This is just how it showed up for me in my healing journey and how I've kind of turned a new page with that of how I decided to take control of this situation and noticed where I was giving my power away, because if I actually stopped to listen when I did, I saw so clearly what my body was telling me and it wasn't what I was doing. And this is how that can manifest for so many of us is the small ways that we don't even notice how we give our power away to other people.

Speaker 1:

And this can be something completely different to you as you're listening to this. It could be you trying to make a big decision in your life and you feel like you need to ask every single person in your life for what they think, and sometimes you don't need anyone's input. You don't need to know what everyone else thinks. I think that there is some benefit to that, but if you're going to completely change your decision of what you feel is true and right for you because of what other people think about a certain situation in your life, that is you giving your power away, and this is what you need to notice. And sometimes we'll notice it further down the path. And, like I mentioned, this is where tuning into your intuition and knowing what that sounds like is going to be super helpful If you don't know or are not very familiar with your intuition or don't really even know what that is.

Speaker 1:

I highly suggest that you listen to my podcast episode on it. I'm going to link it in this episode. It's called the intuitive languages episode and I go into how your intuition feels like for you, because it's very different for each and every one of us, and I think that it's something that is so important for us to know and recognize, because this is the voice of our truth, and when there is so much noise going on around us, with people telling us this or that or hey, this is what it is for you, that voice needs to be louder than anyone else's. In that moment, you're going to know that this is right for you, and the way that you do that is by developing trust in your intuition and knowing what it sounds like, knowing what it feels like, because when it comes up in your life, you're going to know, without a doubt, that this is your truth with a capital T, not what any person outside of you is telling you. Because you hold the power, you know what is best for you, even when it might sound crazy to those around you, even if it doesn't make sense to whoever. It doesn't have to, it just needs to make sense to you. It is all about tuning into that voice within yourself and noticing in the small ways where we are letting other people into our lives when really what we need to be doing is just creating some space to tune into our truth.

Speaker 1:

I hope you all enjoyed this episode and can notice maybe where in your life you might be giving your power away In some aspect of your life.

Speaker 1:

We typically do without knowing, and it can be in those areas of our life where we feel unsure of ourselves and our knowledge and our capacity. But I invite you to really tune in to what is right for you and, if you don't know where to start, tune into that podcast episode, listen to it, get familiar with your intuition, with what that sounds like for you, and be unafraid to follow your truth, to tune into that voice within us, because that is going to be the most powerful thing in our life. We need to know what that sounds like, we need to know what that feels like. If not, we will forever be out of alignment and that within itself can affect every aspect of our life. That energy aspect of our life, that energy is not going to be the energy that we need to lean into. So I am sending you all so much love. I look forward to talking to you all in my next episode and enjoy all the summer goodness. Remember that you are in control of your life and you know what is good and right for you.
