REPRESENTED with Annie Gichuru
Welcome to REPRESENTED, the podcast.
This is your weekly dose of inspiration that’ll support you to build a racially inclusive online business without letting the fear of getting it wrong get in the way. These episodes will provide insights, strategies, and discussions that break down barriers and empower you to navigate the racial equity landscape.
I’m Annie Gichuru, your host as well as a Racial Equity Coach who supports online business owners such as coaches, course creators, membership owners and group program facilitators. It’s my calling in nature and ability to break-down complex and often uncomfortable conversations around race that has seen me teach over 100 online business owners to be more racially inclusive through my online program REPRESENTED.
Be sure to subscribe, rate and review so this podcast can reach more online business owners and begin to not only normalise racial inclusion in the online coaching space but see us actively shift our perspectives.

58. The Eras of Racism
Later this week on March 21st is not only my birthday, but also the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. It's a day that calls on all of us to reckon with racism, because racism is not something in the past, it's alive and evolving today.
In this episode, I take you on a journey through the Eras of Racism. From the Transatlantic Slave Trade right up to today’s world of AI bias.
Here’s what you’ll take away from this episode:
🎙 What racism really is beyond individual prejudice, as a global system built to uphold power.
🎙 The motivation for racism and how it was constructed to justify slavery, colonisation, and exploitation.
🎙 Why March 21 matters, and the tragic event that led to this global day of reflection.
🎙 How racism has shapeshifted across history from overt violence to sophisticated systems, including the AI tools we use in business today.
🎙 And most importantly what role we can play as online business owners to stop perpetuating racism and take meaningful action.
This episode is about understanding the history that brought us here and asking:
What are you going to do differently?
If you’ve ever wondered how to build an online business that doesn’t just talk about diversity but actively works to dismantle exclusion, this episode is for you.
And if you're ready to take that next step, I’m also sharing more about REPRESENTED, my 10-week program that helps online business owners create businesses rooted in integrity, equity, and deep humanity because AI is reshaping the world, but whether it will be inclusive depends on us.
