There Are No Gays In Montana
Coming out can be hard, especially in rural America. There Are No Gays In Montana is a lifestyle podcast hosted by husbands Isaac Hunter and Tyler Nelson. Listen as they release episodes every other week and talk all things growing up gay in a state with more cows than people, let alone gay people (or gay cows). They cover topics like country music queer icons, coming out at work, and attending Catholic high school, while sharing stories of how they went from straight, closeted, college best friends to husbands.

Cause to nine. The heartache on me.
SPEAKER_06On me.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, let's drink a cup to the full. Who couldn't see?
SPEAKER_06Who is that? No, let's do it until it looks. Oh, damn. Is it? Yes.
SPEAKER_03We were talking about our favorite songs the other day.
SPEAKER_05Oh my god.
SPEAKER_06I got it in my head and I've listened to it ten times.
SPEAKER_03It's a known chick song, but it's not really top five or even though.
SPEAKER_06No, it's not one that people just say they're first out.
SPEAKER_03It's so good. I think that's the album my mom had growing up in the car, so I do know that whole album.
SPEAKER_06That one and Fly.
SPEAKER_03Fly, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Okay, everyone, welcome back to the Arnold Gaze of Montana. We're finally back. Um it's been a while. Uh it's now May.
SPEAKER_03So when do we normally start recording for the past seasons?
SPEAKER_06March.
SPEAKER_03Oh. So yeah.
SPEAKER_06I would say we're two months behind.
SPEAKER_03But purposefully.
SPEAKER_06On purpose. Exactly. Yeah. Purpose. Yes. So this season we are going to try to do weekly to release episodes weekly. So in order to do that, we have been working since February, we'll say. We've been doing some really good interviews, which we'll talk about, but I'm really excited about those. Um but we are gonna try to do weekly for the summer.
SPEAKER_03I love it.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. But we have just had a kind of a lot of changes over the last like six months. I got a new job.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06And I definitely travel a lot more, and it's going really well. I really like it. But a lot of times with that, and then now that Tyler and I both kind of travel for work, beep up here and there, we're just not home as much.
SPEAKER_03So and you just travel as people outside of work too.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So your summers are always kind of like booked to the gills.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Okay, well, if you're just joining us, this is their Arnold Gaze of Montana, the podcast where we talk about growing up gay in rural America. I'm Isaac. I'm Tyler.
SPEAKER_03I'm Ariel. Wow. It's been a minute. I know.
SPEAKER_05It's been a long time since the three of us have just recorded.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, when do you think we last recorded?
SPEAKER_05I mean it was October.
SPEAKER_03August?
SPEAKER_05No, September. October, maybe. September, October.
SPEAKER_06No, it was a Halloween episode, you dummies.
SPEAKER_03Okay, October.
SPEAKER_06A couple weeks before Halloween. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03There you go.
SPEAKER_06Okay. What's everyone's uh we're six months into the year. What's everyone's planned Halloween costume? Or what would be? I already told you guys. Six months of pop culture. What is it?
SPEAKER_03I want to be Lady Gaga at the Super Bowl. Doing one of these. She actually is kind of wearing this color too. Yes. Some people on social media are calling her Gaga Lupe.
SPEAKER_05Salsa Gaga. That's a good one.
SPEAKER_03And then we talked about Tyler being bad bunny and Isaac being grass. That'd be fun.
SPEAKER_05That'd be such a fun group. Fun friend group.
SPEAKER_03Because we could add as many grasses as we wanted.
SPEAKER_06Yep. Do you have any thoughts? Oh, I think like Megan Nicki would be kind of fun.
SPEAKER_03You should do Christine Elm's husband.
SPEAKER_06Who's that? Nicki. Minaj. Oh, Maga Nicki. Maga. I heard Megan Nicki. So did I.
SPEAKER_03I was like, it must be a reference to the city. What would you do?
SPEAKER_06So as Nicki Minaj.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I want to see you go as Maga Nicki Minaj Isaac. I didn't say it was for me.
SPEAKER_06I didn't say it was for me.
SPEAKER_03No, I feel like no one wants to be reminded of how bad she's gotten. Just sad. She's been bad for a while, but it's just a good one.
SPEAKER_05I wouldn't want to give it any airtime.
SPEAKER_03No, you should be Christy Numbe's husband with the balloon tits.
SPEAKER_05Okay, that's a good one. That's a good one.
SPEAKER_03That's a cheap one, too.
SPEAKER_06So easy.
SPEAKER_03So easy. Samoan. So easy. Samoan people nicknamed him.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Everything I'm thinking of right now are just like really dark.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Have you seen the videos of Montivirus?
SPEAKER_05You could go as bird watching cruise ship people. The videos of Akon's current tour.
SPEAKER_06No.
SPEAKER_05So he had this idea where he was going to crowd surf. He crowdsurfs, tries to crowd surf at one point in the show. But he's in like a bubble.
SPEAKER_03Like you know those big orbs that people go down like something balls.
SPEAKER_06People like walking it.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Like moonwalking. So he's trying to crowd surf, but it just keeps not working. There's not enough people. And he keeps like falling through. And like three times I saw a video. I saw a video the other day. And like three times he has to like stop the song and be like, you guys have to push your hands up for this to work. You everyone needs to push up.
SPEAKER_02No, you need to watch the videos. Yeah. Because he like goes off the stage and then like this group of people just go down. And then you can see everyone kind of struggling to get him in the air.
SPEAKER_05And he's like he's like flailing everywhere in the ball. So I I can't remember who I sent it to. It might have been you, but I Ariel. But I I sent it over to someone and said, keep this in mind as a Halloween costume idea.
SPEAKER_03It's called a Zorb ball.
SPEAKER_05Zorb, that's what it is. Yeah, because people go Zorbing and they get in them and they roll down the hill. I would do that. Yeah, I would too. This is not necessarily a current one, but I one year when I don't have another one that I really want to do, I'm just gonna go as Mia Thermopolis for sure.
SPEAKER_01Oh, absolutely.
SPEAKER_05The headphones with the wig and the headphones and the glasses.
SPEAKER_06Doing pre-makeover or post?
SPEAKER_03The DVD cover.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. I think maybe I think pre-would be fun. Or the hat. Or the hat when she's trying to hide her hair. Yeah. When she gets the makeover and she goes to school and she doesn't want people to see it.
SPEAKER_03But the ice cream cone?
SPEAKER_05Mm-hmm. Oh, we're due for a rebound. Lannagot cone. Lannagot cone.
SPEAKER_03Anymore so mean in that movie.
SPEAKER_05I know.
SPEAKER_03And someone could go as the MM's keyboard player.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, we're fly paper. We're flying away now. Eminem's keyboard player?
SPEAKER_03You're gonna watch this. No, not the brother.
SPEAKER_05The brother's band. Lily's brother. The guy that they're at the car shop and they play their band at the car shop too. And she shows up and her car's getting fixed, and there's the girls on the couch listening, and she's like, Then he sends her a pizza later and it says I'm sorry with MM's on it. Yeah. He fixes cars, he plays guitars, and he can sing. He's so hot.
SPEAKER_06It's the guy that's in last wicked that actually loves her, right? Yes. The friend. Yes. But he has a crush on her. Correct. And it's Lily's brother. But she's in love with Brank. Correct.
SPEAKER_05Josh. Josh. He's in it for the clout. Anyway. Well, other stuff has been happening. We did go to Brazil on your travels.
SPEAKER_06We went to Brazil.
SPEAKER_03We went to obrigada. Tell us about Brazil.
SPEAKER_06It was the best. It was like Mexico on Qualudes. Quailudes.
SPEAKER_03I don't even know what those are.
SPEAKER_06I just know I'm not.
SPEAKER_05They're extremely potent drugs that are no longer, I think, even produced or given for any medical reason in the United States.
SPEAKER_06I think they're like 80s Wall Street, just because I saw Wolf of Wall Street and they were a big deal. That's I'd never heard of them until I saw that movie. Yeah. We went to Rio. I had a blast. It was so fun. It's beaches for days and it's the craziest like territory, like the craziest landscape of like sea level to like the tallest mountain in the shortest amount of time. And you've got forever. Yes.
SPEAKER_05And a city of tens of millions of people and skyscrapers, also. Yeah, it's like avatar. In it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Incredible.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it was so fun.
SPEAKER_03Okay. What's the gayest thing you did since we last recorded? Since October. Um, I have an idea for you. I want to see if you can guess it.
SPEAKER_05Is it Invisalign?
SPEAKER_03No. Oh. How is that going?
SPEAKER_06That's pretty gay. It's not Invisalign, but we're not supposed to use that word. It's candid. It's called candid. That's what he keeps telling me.
SPEAKER_03We're not sponsored though.
SPEAKER_06It's good.
SPEAKER_05I have just some back stuff on my teeth that my teeth just don't line up well. And to make sure that that doesn't continue to cause me issue, I have Invisalign. So it's not cosmetic.
SPEAKER_03It doesn't matter if it is, even.
SPEAKER_05It's not cosmetic.
SPEAKER_03No judgment on cosmetic invisalign.
SPEAKER_05Even though I did tell Dr. Song while you're in there, there's these two things that I want fixed.
SPEAKER_03I knew it. So it's it's two birds, one stone.
SPEAKER_05Correct. So if y'all think he sounds differently, I do. I I can you can tell it. Yeah, a little bit different. You can tell.
SPEAKER_06Actually, I'm really w impressed with how like non-noticeable they are. Yeah, they are.
SPEAKER_03Remember when braces were so noticeable and there was no app?
SPEAKER_06Did you have braces?
SPEAKER_03I had two on my front teeth and I said just two. Just the front two. That's why I have this giant gap.
SPEAKER_05It's the craziest thing. Like I it's all I have all of the one, all the trays the whole time. And every two weeks I do this scan where I stick this piece on my phone. And I showed you guys, but you basically just like it's like a video game. You like stick it in your mouth, look in the mirror, and it says like catch all the dots. And you go catch all the dots, takes a full scan in your mouth, and then you send it off to people that take a look and review it, and then they send back to you and say, Move to the next trays.
SPEAKER_06Damn well, shout out to Dr. Song.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, we love her, right?
SPEAKER_03My guess for your gayest thing that we that you've done since we last recorded was your new obsession with puffy panda. Oh my god. Because I think that is the last six months. Like would you knew about it before?
SPEAKER_05Now that you're thinking, now that I'm thinking about it, my obsession with puffy panda, we'll get into that in a second. I am also, I think, have gone through my full cycle of Sara Larson. And heated rivalry.
SPEAKER_03Oh. Since we last recorded. Yes.
SPEAKER_05My life rivalry before.
SPEAKER_03We didn't even talk about heated rivalry.
SPEAKER_05No, I started watching the show on December 7th, 2025.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god. No, that is absolutely the gayest thing. We all did. All done.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So started it like two weeks after you.
SPEAKER_06Mm-hmm. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That feels like forever ago.
SPEAKER_06That really does. Like culturally, we've lived ten lives since.
SPEAKER_05Oh, I think about it every day.
SPEAKER_03At the bookstore I was just in, like two hours ago, they had a whole little section of heated rivalry, hats, stickers, mug, a candle, and what'd you buy me? Pens. I didn't buy anything.
SPEAKER_05Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03I'm I'm pretending I'm broke right now.
SPEAKER_05I think about it every day. What do you think about it?
SPEAKER_03So what crosses your mind? What are your just the main two?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, the boys. Yeah. I think about them. So Puffy Pandy.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, tell the listeners about Puffy.
SPEAKER_05Puffy Pandy is my current favorite establishment in the greater Seattle area.
SPEAKER_03Wow.
SPEAKER_05And it is located on 16th Street in White Center.
SPEAKER_03It's pretty close to where they're recording right now.
SPEAKER_05Right. We should go there in the next few days, I think.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Okay.
SPEAKER_05I haven't been in like 10 days. Let's do it.
SPEAKER_03Um go for your birthday.
SPEAKER_05I have some points. He is a member. We can sign him up. I did get a merch. Merch for our anniversary. How would you, because I've tried to describe it to people a few times now. What how would you describe it? What would you say it is? Puffy Bandy? Yeah.
SPEAKER_06It's like a hodgepodge.
SPEAKER_03Japanese ice cream and macaroon place.
SPEAKER_06I wouldn't even say there's like merch and there's a store.
SPEAKER_03They just participate in the art walk.
SPEAKER_06Little store. It's kind of like a hodgepodge of like stuff, but then they also have ice cream.
SPEAKER_03Eclairs.
SPEAKER_06No macarons. Cream puffs.
SPEAKER_03Cream puffs.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. So it is and he's in love. Phenomenal. They have like the best kinds of ice cream.
SPEAKER_03I think it's really branding that did it for you, that got you into the door. And then you realize, oh, they make really good stuff too.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. And then you know it was all over from there. One cream puff and it was done. But they have the best macarons. They have the best, they have like mini macarons that are literally the size of a nickel. Yes. And they come in a box and you can, it's like a taste, it's like a tester. You can try all the different kinds.
SPEAKER_03I prefer it that small because I don't like the big thing.
SPEAKER_05No, it's like one little bite. Right, right. I love it. Um, they have the best ice cream flavors. They've got ube ice cream. They have, what's the one, the bright green one that we it's like vanilla almost tasting, but it's a very specific Japanese like root.
SPEAKER_03I keep wanting to say panang, but it's not.
SPEAKER_05It's something like the Pandam. Pandam. Last time I went, I had Cookie Monster, which was vanilla ice cream and Oreo. It was double. But it was Oreo and Cookie Dough in one.
SPEAKER_03Wow.
SPEAKER_05Let that sink in. Innovators. I love it there. I love it, love it, love it there.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_05That's it is pretty fucking gay.
SPEAKER_03It's pretty gay.
SPEAKER_05Like I said, he's got merch. And I have merch. Isaac got me merch for good husband to let our anniversary.
SPEAKER_06Okay, what about you?
SPEAKER_03I today did surgery on my ingrown toenail at home.
SPEAKER_06That felt gay?
SPEAKER_03Felt like a lesbian getting shit done, you know, and not outsourcing to a professional. Just being like, I can figure my way around this issue.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_03Just got in there. You ever done that?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_05I actually think it's fun and challenging.
SPEAKER_03It hurts.
SPEAKER_05Self-surgery. Yeah. And especially that that kind of procedure. I think pedicures give them to me.
SPEAKER_03It's like I will not stop getting a pedicure.
SPEAKER_06Like a hangnail? Or like an incredible?
SPEAKER_03No, I think the way they cut my nail when I got my pedicure on my big toe is making it grow into my toe fat. So I need to start doing toe workouts too, so there's less fat on it.
SPEAKER_06You gotta get a leaner toe.
SPEAKER_03I'm just into my toe skin.
SPEAKER_06Oh. Speaking of that, things that I've been into on the internet.
SPEAKER_03Toe videos, me too.
SPEAKER_06Not no different. You always send toe ones, and once it's a human, I'm not into it as much as I'm gonna.
SPEAKER_03I love watching a corn get shaved off. That is so good.
SPEAKER_06Kind of okay. I don't love it as much, but I've been uh hoof trimming, hoof trimming and farrier, farriering, I guess you'd call it.
SPEAKER_03Oh, horse. Horseshoeing. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. So you watch all these farriers like just do the coolest shit. And then they have like this huge abscess, and like the cow can like barely walk, and then they get him in there and they just like and it's like or do you know, like when they release gas?
SPEAKER_03Yes, yes, and they put that pipe in the side of a horse and just releases gas for like five minutes.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, we used to have to I'm fine one steer one year for the fair, and he would just blow it and blow it and blow it and blow it because he just had like a bad stomach. So we used to have to take a plastic tube down their throat and then you'd pour mineral oil down it and it like made them release all the gas and burp. Whoa. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Kind of related. One time I was at this, like it was advertised as like a wild animal conservatory in Arizona, and we got there and it was like, oh, this is Tiger King. Fuck. Oh, yeah, yeah. And I saw a lion, no joke, back up to the side of a fence and piss this crazy hard stream right on the room.
SPEAKER_06Isn't it crazy? If like they just shoot it straight up.
SPEAKER_03It was like this. And this kid got doused in lion pissed, and all of us were laughing our asses off.
SPEAKER_06Have I told the rabbit story on here? Tell them why tell them why you hate rabbits. It's pretty gross.
SPEAKER_03Does the rabbit get hurt?
SPEAKER_06No, the rabbit had a fucking fine day.
SPEAKER_03Okay, great. Happy.
SPEAKER_06Okay, so when I was like probably nine or something, I was at the Rivale County Fair in Hamilton.
SPEAKER_03No one knows where that is.
SPEAKER_06Well, I bet there's some listeners out here who fucking do.
SPEAKER_03No one on this side of the table knows where the listeners are.
SPEAKER_06Actually, our greatest number of listeners are from Hamilton, Denver, Seattle, and then Billings. And then we know where it is. Not me. Could be from outside. I know it's it. Your eyes are telling me. It wasn't me, but you'd be the one to be like, it was me.
SPEAKER_03I am always honest. If I farted, I will own up to it.
SPEAKER_06Okay, so anyways, I'm at the Red Valley County Fair, and I'm like nine, and I you have to walk through the rabbit barn to get to the beef barn. And so I'm on my way to the beef barn and they are showing the rabbits over here on the left side. So picture a bunch of rabbits facing the other way. Ever seen a rabbit show?
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_06They're in like these little cages. They're fine. A rabbit seems to live a little pretty good. So, like, picture like 10 rabbits in a row. Have you? I don't know if you've ever seen a male, if you know how male rabbits piss, but male rabbits piss straight backwards, like 15 feet. And so I'm like walking through, walking through, and then I see the rabbits and I turn like this. And the fucking rabbit shoots the piss into my mouth. Into my mouth. And I'm like mortified, horrified. I would have froged up. And there's also a ton of people watching because it's the show.
SPEAKER_03Are you in your best blues ready to show off your cow?
SPEAKER_06No, no, no, no. It wasn't my day. Okay. So I'm just like so I'm like running through the barn at this point, just like crying. I'm like nine. I can't believe you didn't throw up. So I'm crying, crying, crying. So I get to the beef barn and then I like open a cooler. It has only Mountain Dews, no water, and I'm like tugging Mountain Dew and just like it tastes similar to the rabbit piss. Yeah. So, anyways, that was a ton of rabbit pissed in my mouth. And that's why I don't really like rabbits and or chickens.
SPEAKER_03Do you think that rabbit piss made you bald? Like there's a property in it. And had you not drinking that rabbit piss, it'd be like Prince Charming from Shark 2. Maybe. Something to think about. You have to eat rabbit poop to balance it out.
SPEAKER_06I'll keep it. I'll keep the bald.
SPEAKER_03You should. It looks good.
SPEAKER_06Um, okay, but one big pop cultural thing I feel like we definitely have to touch on is obviously Drag Race. So a whole season of Drag Race happened.
SPEAKER_03Do we have to touch on it? I think we have to. I would just say overall. Actually, did everyone watch the America's Next Top Model Tyra Banks little documentary that came out in the past six months?
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_03When I was watching Drag Race, it reminded me so much of that docuseries and how much they talked about how each season they have to get bigger and better. So they started doing stuff and fucking with the contestants just from the production aspect of things to make more clicks, more views, not necessarily like to make fans happy or to make content, but just to make headlines, and that's what I felt like this whole season was just producers throwing things at a wall.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it just kind of feels like that.
SPEAKER_03It felt like I need a break from Drag Race because they're just gonna like pull the rug out from under you at any point. There's not a lot of like true equity in the judging.
SPEAKER_06It was crazy. Yes, it didn't make any sense. No, and like not that anyone spoiler alert, fast forward, but um I thought Mikey Mix was great, but also there was one standout that won more than anyone else has ever won on Drag Race, and then they sent her home.
SPEAKER_01I know.
SPEAKER_06So Justice for Jane Don't. Seattle Queen, by the way.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, so for the listeners who don't watch, basically it was a regular season, and there was a one queen that we had been theorizing, and I think we even talked about on the pod. We thought was gonna be on the next season because they went dark. We were tracking, they went dark on social media.
SPEAKER_03She wasn't at queer bar for a while.
SPEAKER_05Yes, and it was one of our local queens, Jane Don't, who Ariel actually went to college with.
SPEAKER_03Shout out.
SPEAKER_05Yes. And so we were super excited, and throughout the entire season, she killed it and won more challenges than any like queen has run like consecutively in a regular season. And then had Oh, she made history ever, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Of all the internationals, of all the random all-stars, right? Crazy.
SPEAKER_05And then had one week where she was in the bottom and went home at the top five mark, right? Was it the top five mark? And it was it was a week where like they kind of all got shit on for not doing very well. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03But they were judging everyone off different criteria of like, oh, well, Juicy didn't totally suck this week, so let's give her the win. You just compared those two performances. It was obvious which one is more comfortable to watch and what's funnier.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. So it was extremely obvious that she was sent home purely for the shock factor. Like for the the rest of the season, everyone was like, They're gonna, she's gonna come back, they're gonna find a way to like have her be come back in. Never did, and she went home.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, y'all thought a diabetic moment would happen for some.
SPEAKER_05And everyone didn't everyone, even people not even rooting for her, were like, What? What the fuck? The fuck? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Cause then at that point you're like, I kind of feel cheated by this show.
SPEAKER_05I saw all these videos of people like questioning the actual integrity of Drag Race from now on and and everything.
SPEAKER_03Well, I didn't watch the episodes after that. I watched bits and pieces with y'all, but I have no interest in it.
SPEAKER_05In solitary.
SPEAKER_03I'm taking I'm taking a break. So I have watched every season up until now, so I think overdue.
SPEAKER_05It was disappointing to say the least. Yeah. And a lot of us were kind of like, okay, screw that.
SPEAKER_06Okay, can we go back to the Tower Bank scene for a second? Do you guys remember all that while you're watching it? Like, what was your relationship with the show?
SPEAKER_03I did not remember all that. I did not remember the SA thing happening like that.
SPEAKER_06And we wouldn't even have called it that at the time. We called it TV.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. Well, there was so much like shaming around her.
SPEAKER_06It was crazy to watch in this day and age. Because I remember that specific moment. They always watch on VH1 the like biggest real top 20 countdown reality moments. And that one was always one of them, you know, when he's like, You had sex.
SPEAKER_03What just came out of your mouth? He was gay. Her boyfriend was gay.
SPEAKER_06He is now, you know. Just kidding.
SPEAKER_03You had sex.
SPEAKER_05I don't I can't do it, but that first one was too much.
SPEAKER_06The whole thing is not funny, but him saying that one line does kill me.
SPEAKER_05I don't really remember it feeling odd. It didn't feel odd or crazy while I watched it.
SPEAKER_06I didn't watch every season. Yeah, we have to think of like all the reality TV. There was no fucking rules. It was insane. And it was just like no the wilder and more outrageous it was. It was like this is normal. This is the same thing. But I think this one was particularly crazy. Of course. Yes. But no one said that at the time. Right. And also maybe some people.
SPEAKER_03The general public doesn't know what modeling is really like. And so I guess we're all like, I guess this is what modeling is, you know? And when it comes to Tyra, when I think of Kookie when watching something, like when Tyra Bank's show was out, I remember being like, Oh yeah, this is like weird, and just bringing on the most like random circus freaks.
SPEAKER_06Kind of the same thing. Like you said, like how can we produce it bigger and make it more extreme and louder and like which they talked about on there.
SPEAKER_05I remember, I think I would say probably five years ago or so, they really I think there was like a resurgence of people talking about it and re-watching it. I think during COVID too. And also there was a lot of commentary being like, This was fucked up. Like looking, I think there was another wave of people watching it again and watching it back and just having their own commentary and saying, like, I can't believe they did this on TV. Yeah. Like the race changing and the all that kind of stuff.
SPEAKER_06The homeless people.
SPEAKER_05The homeless people.
SPEAKER_03When she had rabies, the dentist thing.
SPEAKER_05That was on her show, right? Yeah, that was on her show. Was that on her show? That was crazy. But she passed out on she did like a had like a seizure pass out situation on um her show too, right? She was acting America's next top model. So that that makes me wonder like is that where the idea of doing the documentary respond?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Because it was a big conversation point at one point, just on its own by people re-watching and talking about it.
SPEAKER_06It's kind of surprising. Do you think she thought she did something with the documentary?
SPEAKER_03Do you think it was like a PR thing where she's like, I'm trying to get some It's hard to know because she very much like half apologized for some things, but also was just like I was under pressure. I was also doing a lot for, you know, models of color and bigger size models, and I was already breaking boundaries. Like she was like not fully owning up to how far she's got to be.
SPEAKER_05She was not with it. I felt like she deflected any anything that was directly asking her to own out. She kind of didn't comment on.
SPEAKER_03She would just be like the producers. She was like at a certain point I had no power, and I'm like, it's hard for me to believe. Which is on the show.
SPEAKER_05I think maybe she thought she was doing something and then it wasn't received that way. Yeah. Because you're confused because it you go part way through it and you're like, this is really kind of slamming it and slamming Tyra, and then she comes on, and then you s and you also know the whole time that she's a producer on it. And normally when someone's a producer on their own documentary about a show or like that, it's like a spin. Redemption redemption piece. Yeah. Kind of. And it wasn't really.
SPEAKER_06That especially if they're on it, like yeah, exactly. Usually you're like, they have to sign off on everything else, right? Right, or they wouldn't be on it. So she was a cookie. Do you know my favorite reality TV moment? It's like do you remember the guy on Survivor that faked his grandma's death? Johnny Fairplay that always made like number one reality TV show. And he did not play fair.
SPEAKER_03No, he's like one of the top five villains of Survivor.
SPEAKER_06I know that was a good though.
SPEAKER_03Speaking of changing race, similar vibe. Do you remember when Survivor did the race wars season?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Each team was sorted by race.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Slash ethnicity.
SPEAKER_06The 2000s were. 2000s really were crazy. That's like we're okay. We're watching Summer House right now. You team West? He's watching from the beginning. I'm watching from the beginning because of that. And I don't watch T at all. I don't watch. I stand there like this at the TV.
SPEAKER_03Beside it.
SPEAKER_06And then find myself there 10 minutes later, so watching it. Commentating, commentating, commentating.
SPEAKER_03Well, y'all went to college with West and you knew him really well. So you're on a side, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_06We didn't know him well, but he did go to Montana. He did live in North Hedges. Anyways, it is crazy to watch even that. How long's that show been out? I'm gonna say like eight years, but I don't know.
SPEAKER_03No, like four. I think a long six.
SPEAKER_06Probably like eight. Yeah, a long time. Anyways, it's funny, it's interesting to watch pre like late 2010s because they are binge drinking so hard. And just like, I don't I want to know if the show is still like that. Like black out, like they're it's visibly like black out. Like Jersey Shore. Like the worst night picture at night. Being filmed weekly. Yeah. It's like they're trying to do Jersey Shore, but it's not 2010. So it's like, hey, I don't think you're supposed to be drinking like that on reality TV.
SPEAKER_03Is there a boom boom room?
SPEAKER_06Like all the dating shows, like you they can't they have all these rules now that they can't like drink and they can't even show alcohol or that they are drinking or whatever, and they have like a limit.
SPEAKER_03Beverage in this.
SPEAKER_06But I've I part of me thinks that's maybe a Netflix. Where there's this Bravo. You know what I mean? Well, Bachelor's same thing. Bachelor's been sued like a gajillion times and finally has like changed all the rules for like how much they drink and stuff. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03They'd be blacking out on housewives. Maybe it's really the older seasons.
SPEAKER_06I guess that's true too, but they're not fucking each other that we know of.
SPEAKER_03I would love that storyline.
SPEAKER_05That would be fun. Speaking of farting, there is no boom boom room, but they every room has cameras except for bathrooms. And so it's 24-hour surveillance, and they take all that footage and they make the show out of it.
SPEAKER_03Can't be good for your mental health.
SPEAKER_05And they have I've noticed, and I I just like I'm about to finish season two. I don't know why, but whatever the producers, whoever was in charge, love to show when people are alone in their room farting.
SPEAKER_02They have like a compilation. Yes. Nobody's getting off on that for sure.
SPEAKER_05Or like it like that's crazy. Every time a night happens, everyone goes to bed. It like there's like four split screens, and it's like people's bedrooms, and there's without fail, someone's like farting as they wake up or like farting alone in their room. Yeah. But it's really good. I like it. Okay. It's not really good. It's trash TV.
SPEAKER_03It's good for the brain. Good for the noggin.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. It's good to have on the background. What's the blue dot phenomenon? Okay, so blue dot phenomenon, it's not I don't know if it's phenomenon. It's what it's I want when as we talk about concerts coming up, that's what it's called. So the PussyCat also canceled their tour.
SPEAKER_00Why?
SPEAKER_06Several tours have been canceled, including I think Megan Trainer and many, many others. And so what's happening is they feel like the concert pricing bubble is finally bursting. Where it's like people are so they're calling it the blue dot phenomenon. Like as you're looking in through buying tickets, you see all these empty seats for blue dots, and it's just like ticket sales are not happening. And so $300 to go to a concert these days. Right. I'll send you there. I almost sent it to you today. That's just an interesting term. I know that's where I learned like multiple places. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Talking about the blue dot phenomenon of blue dot phenomenon and read a list of what's been canceled because I'm so curious.
SPEAKER_05Blue dot fever. Blue dot fever?
SPEAKER_06It's called blue dot fever.
SPEAKER_05Nice. It's a 2026 phenomenon where high-profile music artists are canceling or postponing their doers tours due to poor ticket sales, visually represented by a sea of blue dots on the ticket master seating maps.
SPEAKER_06Does it say who's been canceled?
SPEAKER_05Um Post Malone, Megan Trainer, Zane Malik, the Pussycat dolls have faced issues with tour dates in 2026. I mean, I think that's fair because at the at the point where like you've got all these new acts too coming out, and there's like so many it's like oversaturated. Yeah, there's so many options. Then eventually, even people that go to so many concerts like me start picking and choosing and being like, if it's gonna cost me this much to go to a show in an arena, I'd rather go to two shows for that price. I'm gonna have to start cutting. Yes.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_06Or if you've seen them before already, right?
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Totally.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And generally I would and I think a lot of people agree that I would much rather go to a non-arena show.
SPEAKER_06Totally.
SPEAKER_03You know? And how much is was Dojo? 175 each.
SPEAKER_05What? One, no, one thirty. That's with fees. I think so, yeah. Dojo is reasonable. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Because I feel like most arena shows that you go to, unless you are truly in the nosebleeds, it's like $200 on a month. At least. So if y'all want to go, it's half a band. It's a band a thousand.
SPEAKER_05A band? A thousand dollars, like a band of is that a thousand or a hundred? I don't know. I've never heard you use that term. I've never either tell I haven't. Yeah. Is that half a band?
SPEAKER_03That's what they could dance. But yeah, truly four hundred dollars and then parking. And then it started.
SPEAKER_06Merge results. Oh, you want a beer? That's gonna be twenty-five dollars.
SPEAKER_03So y'all are leaving the arena six hundred and fifty dollars.
SPEAKER_06Don't get him started. Oh, at least.
SPEAKER_03You both are going.
SPEAKER_06At least. I did all the math for 2025 where I was like, Tyler, this is everything we spent. That is a whole trip to Europe.
SPEAKER_03He's not drinking alcohol. It's fine. It truly evens out.
SPEAKER_06We looked at that too. Has anybody recently shit their pants?
SPEAKER_03Define recently.
SPEAKER_06Since we recorded last.
SPEAKER_03I won't answer that question, but I will say that. We learned that you can get a colonoscopy easier than you would think. And if you qualify for one, you should get one. Because yeah, it's uncomfortable. Yeah, the prep sucks, supposedly, but I mean colon cancer, we've heard this a million times, is on the rise, and insurance usually won't cover it unless you get approved for it.
SPEAKER_06What do you have to do to prep?
SPEAKER_03I think it's 48 hours of drinking the prep liquid and just shitting your brains out and not eating for the last eating certain things for the last 24 hours or fasting the last 24 or something.
SPEAKER_05I have had friends do it and I've been present when they're going through the prep process. And it I will say it doesn't look nice. It was rough.
SPEAKER_03I think it is rough. I think it's so worth it, you know?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03It is to know if you have colon cancer or not.
SPEAKER_06No, I agree. But don't you everyone has to do a book.
SPEAKER_03But once you hit 40, I think that is when insurance starts covering it for normal people. For like but if you qualify now at age 31, like myself, you should get it done.
SPEAKER_05How'd you find out you qualified? She showed her pants twice.
SPEAKER_03I went into my doctor and talked to them about my life and habits. And they said, Bring us some of your poop and we'll send it over. They talked about some of my habits.
SPEAKER_05Did your what you described to them tell them you may have colon cancer, you need to do a colonoscopy?
SPEAKER_03Oh my god, I would be such a different headspace right now if they were like, You probably have colon cancer. No. They were just like, that does sound abnormal. Let's look at your blood and let's look at your poop and we'll send you to a GI specialist.
SPEAKER_05I haven't actually shipped my pants, but I have I have this really bad habit of like I do get coffee poops really bad and they come hard and fast. Really fast. And I put myself in a couple situations in the last since we recorded last where I like push it too far, and then I'm in a place where like I can't go and I need to find a place and it's like code red.
SPEAKER_03Tell them about Costco.
SPEAKER_05Oh my god, this was just a week ago. I didn't have that one in mind.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_05We went to Costco and we were trying to we were trying to go. Just needed two plants. We were trying to go right when they opened. 9 30. And we went at 9 30. Someone, I'm not gonna mention who forgot to check the fine print, and and that hour is for executive members, and we are just regular members to get into the club. So we get to the front, and the man's like, sorry, I can't let you in.
SPEAKER_03Go wait in your car for three years.
SPEAKER_05Go wait in your car. We're like, okay, fine. So we go wait in our car. Of course, lo and behold, comes a knockin'. In the middle of nowhere in the industrial district downtown. There's like no other establishments around.
SPEAKER_03There's nothing open at that hour in Soto on a Sunday morning.
SPEAKER_05There's nothing around.
SPEAKER_03What's a public bathroom?
SPEAKER_05So I run, I speed walk back into the guy, and I'm like, I know I'm seven minutes early, but I really have to go to the bathroom. Can I go? And I convince him to let me and he like rolls his eyes and he goes, Oh, go in. And so I go and I barely made it. Yep. Another one happened when I was in San Francisco when I was.
SPEAKER_06Hold on, let me remind you, they didn't have the plants. So we literally went to Costco for an hour for literally to wait outside for 23 minutes for Tyler to walk around the car because he has to poop so we can't sit down. He's pacing around the battery. Can't do it anymore. Can't do it anymore. So then he goes in there, begs to go to the bathroom, tries to shit, looks for the plants. They don't have the plants that we need, and then we leave. Well, I'm starting to sweat outside the car. I was just gonna say, do you know when you're like you're sweating, but you also have the chills, you have to shit so bad. You've got like goosebumps.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, that happens. The code red alarm happens to me like monthly. Do I need to call an authority?
SPEAKER_03We should maybe talk to your doctor about that. Surely, that's what I was saying. If you have some things that you've like deemed as normal, yeah, like I've always deemed that as normal. My doctor was like, No, that's like bordering on what we would call fecal incontinence.
SPEAKER_05And I'm like, ugh, fecal incontinence.
SPEAKER_03I don't want that to be my reality. Please, please, sir. Let me into the other one.
SPEAKER_05I was driving, I was on a work trip and I was driving from Sacramento, where Vanessa lives, to San Francisco. And I knew that I was gonna hit traffic when I went to San Francisco, like when I hit a certain spot, and I was like, I should stop. And then I was like, no, I'll be fine. Critical mistake. So then I'm stuck on the interstate, and I like make my exit and I find this like halfway mechanic shop, halfway yeah.
SPEAKER_02I would not have the courage to ask them.
SPEAKER_05But it also kind of was like they had like a little convenience store. So I run, I run, I park in the like right in the middle of all this stuff going on. I don't know if I'm supposed to park the floor.
SPEAKER_02I need a twistler now.
SPEAKER_05I run in. Of course, I get to the bathroom. It's a lock situation. We need the key from the front, of course.
SPEAKER_06Did you buy something?
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I did after.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_05Of course, there's a line. Wait in the line. I go up to the front, I'm like, hi, can I get the bathroom key? I go back to the bathroom. There's two deadbolts on the door. One you can see, one you can't see because there's a keypad over. I try the deadbolt that I can see. It doesn't work. I go back, I'm like, hi. At this point, my voice is like shaking. I'm also sweating. I go back, I'm like, the key doesn't work. And she goes, it's the bottom deadbolt. So I go back to the bottom, get the deadbolt, and barely make it. Barely.
SPEAKER_03Skin of your pants.
SPEAKER_05And by barely, I mean like, you know, when you're like pulling down and it's like about this like all one fluid movement, like down and yeah.
SPEAKER_03Wow. That's your man. Does that not happen to you?
SPEAKER_06No, it does. Not as often as you, but I had it the other day when I had I literally got to the gym and I was in the parking lot at the gym and my I went, nope. Maybe I do have anything. And then I raced home. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Why wouldn't you go into the gym and just use the bathroom?
SPEAKER_06No.
SPEAKER_03There's like six stalls.
SPEAKER_06No, there's like three. And our gym bathroom is gross. The women's is better. It's not gross. The women's isn't gross. It's like a men's, it's like a boys' locker room in like a gross way, not a hot way.
SPEAKER_03The girls is nice. Is it?
SPEAKER_06I think the doesn't smell it always smells so bad in there.
SPEAKER_03Oh, ours is nice and clean.
SPEAKER_06I'll go in there next.
SPEAKER_03Just a shit. Just a shit. Anyways, boys, take us through what the season might look like, what you're excited for, what's new, shiny, different. Honestly, I don't know that much. I just know a little bit about what you've recorded. Me either.
SPEAKER_06Keeping the dark.
SPEAKER_03That's better for me.
SPEAKER_06No, so this season we've been doing a lot more prep work on the back end where in the past, production, but peek behind the curtain, we very much like record an episode, put out an episode, record an episode, put out an episode, including with guests, which is just scheduling nightmare. Challenging scheduling.
SPEAKER_01It's always in the summer as well.
SPEAKER_06It's always the best time of year when you're never busy. But no, we want it to be a little bit more like strategic and a little bit more like thought out on like the people we wanted to talk to. So we're really trying to balance both really great guest episodes and then also a little bit of this where we're catching up on topics as well.
SPEAKER_03Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_06Um, so yeah, we've we're we're really excited. We have one on gay divorce.
SPEAKER_03Great.
SPEAKER_06Two. We recorded it and it's so good. It's gonna be a two-parter. Two parter. I'm excited because again, we feel like we always talk about gay marriage, but never like the also the reality of gay divorce. Um we have one with our friends that are in a thruple, which I'm really excited about. They I'm in two.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. We have one with someone who is in the or ha has been and kind of still is in the adult film industry.
SPEAKER_03The gay one?
SPEAKER_05The gay adult film industry.
SPEAKER_03That's my preferred adult film industry. It's really exciting. So that one's really good.
SPEAKER_06Yes, yeah. And then Ariel's promised us an episode on bisexuality.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Have you started working on that? Master class.
SPEAKER_03I'm just waiting on your notes. Okay. And then I'll riff off of those.
SPEAKER_04Ariel, what's it like to be a bisexual?
SPEAKER_03It's great. No drama. We should do an episode with Phil and Reed. What it's like to go from besties to resties. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Besties to Testies. Besties to work.
SPEAKER_05We could ask him questions and make them uncomfortable.
SPEAKER_03That's what's fun.
SPEAKER_05Do y'all what did y'all like? Remember when I texted them and asked them, do you guys say I love you yet?
SPEAKER_03They haven't started saying that.
SPEAKER_05And it caused it actually caused a dispute between Isaac and I.
SPEAKER_03Hard to do.
SPEAKER_06But yeah, no, we're really excited.
SPEAKER_03Um So are you telling listeners they should be expecting an episode a week?
SPEAKER_06I think so.
SPEAKER_03And so is it gonna be three months of an episode a week? Two months. Great. Well, I would say if there's someone out there listening who has something interesting that hasn't been talked about on the pod.
SPEAKER_06Oh my god, please.
SPEAKER_03I would love for you to literally Skype in and be a guest. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06We've actually a lot of our guests have been like people have that have met with us or reach out to us and been like, hey, yeah, I think this could be a really good topic. So absolutely. Also I found Karen, the realtor. She was the best.
SPEAKER_03Amazing. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Okay. Do you want to talk about Song of the Week? I know you're vibrating over there, waiting to get it out because you've got a big one.
SPEAKER_03Do your big one time.
SPEAKER_05Do your big do your big one. Well, it's just a big time for me in general because Muna released their first album in four years.
SPEAKER_01On May 8th.
SPEAKER_05Have you listened?
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_05I've listened to it probably five times.
SPEAKER_06So do you think the album's actually good?
SPEAKER_05I do. Once again.
SPEAKER_06Compared to others?
SPEAKER_05I do. I thought they would go. I think in their last album, they they went a little bit further down the like cookie cutter pop sound. And I thought they would continue to do that because they did see success with that. But they definitely have continued in the like more experimental realm.
SPEAKER_01I love.
SPEAKER_05While having some like classic, right, structured pop songs on it.
SPEAKER_03So and the whole just like what I'm seeing marketing-wise vibe is very curated. This like black and red, also like all of them dressing in the same style. It's like a new era of Muna, it feels like.
SPEAKER_05It is. It's very good. It's very Asian. Visual album? Um, there's a lot of music videos. Yeah. It's not a full visual album, but I think there's four or five music videos out now. Sadly, they are not coming to Seattle on their tour.
SPEAKER_03I know. We've been pumped out.
SPEAKER_05Technically, technically they are, but I think the Seattle stop is Capitol Hill Block Party.
SPEAKER_03No, thank you.
SPEAKER_05And be gone. And we'll be gone.
SPEAKER_03Well, Tyler and I have this pipe dream of like, let's go visit them in a cool city where like a friend of ours lives. Like, let's go to SFO. Let's go to, I don't know, San Diego.
SPEAKER_05We should check SFO, actually. We should check that. Okay, so what's your favorite song though? Oh my God. Uh it's called uh my favorite song right now is called Is On Call. Did you listen to it? I did.
SPEAKER_03Is it about being on call as an RA? Yes. I know what that's like.
SPEAKER_05We all do, and that's why it resonates so much. No, it's about liking someone and being in that kind of early stage where you like them so much that you have other things going on, or you have like maybe other people you're kind of talking to, but you're literally will always drop everything for them. Ready to get when they always on call. Yeah, when they're ready. Like if at any point you're like, hey, do you want to do something? I'm no matter what I'm doing, I'm there.
SPEAKER_03The power and balance of it all.
SPEAKER_05Kind of, yeah. We should probably wrap up.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, we should. Um again, we're super excited to be back. Thank you so much for tuning in. And we're really excited for the season. We got a lot of good stuff coming, and we'll be back. Mm-hmm. What else? All always write in. We're begging for people to write in. Like, we want to know what do you want to talk about. We love answering questions. Please, please, please engage with us. So um, as always, we can find us at no gaze of montana at gmail.com and all socials at no gaze in Montana. Bye. Anything else?
SPEAKER_03Love you.
SPEAKER_06Drink more water. Stream Muna.
