Into The Work: Therapy For Empaths And Seekers
What Is a Spiritual Entrepreneur? Signs You’re Being Called to Purpose-Driven Work
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
There is a quiet shift happening among many high-achieving women.
Some have built successful careers… know how to perform and lead… but they are beginning to feel something deeper stirring beneath the surface.
Their intuition is getting louder.
Their sensitivity to energy is increasing.
And the work that once felt exciting or impressive suddenly feels… incomplete.
Many are beginning to ask a question they don’t always say out loud:
What if I’m meant to do something different with my life?
Not less ambitious.
But more meaningful.
More conscious.
More connected to healing, growth, and transformation.
In this episode, we explore the identity of the spiritual entrepreneur—what it actually means, how the awakening often begins, and the subtle signs that this path may already be unfolding in your life.
Whether you're already studying healing modalities, exploring intuition, or simply feeling a pull toward more purposeful work, this conversation will help you understand what may be emerging.
In This Episode We Explore
• What a spiritual entrepreneur actually is (and why it’s deeper than a job title)
• How many women begin awakening to purpose after traditional success stops feeling fulfilling
• Why sensitivity is often a form of leadership intelligence
• The inner growth required to build transformational work in the world

Have you ever wondered if you were meant to build something that helps people heal, that helps people awaken or transform in some way? I think there's a quiet awakening happening right now among a lot of high achieving women, and the women who have built successful careers, women who know how to lead, they, have put themselves out there. They know things about themselves. They've already sort of been there, done that. But I feel that so many women are starting to feel something new, stirring inside them. They're. Intuition is getting louder. Their sensitivity to energy is increasing. And that work, that once felt exciting. Um, maybe things that you built before that were, flexes for you, are suddenly now kind of feel flat, I think many of us are asking ourselves a question and it's not something you might be processing out loud with other people right now. But I think that it's a really important one, and that's what, if I'm meant to do something different with my life and not necessarily less ambitious, but something more meaningful, more conscious, more aligned with healing or growth or transformation in some way. Some of you listening might already be doing this work. Some way, and some of you might be studying things like meditation or healing, trauma, healing, somatic practices, hypnosis, any modality, anything out there, you might be feeling more drawn to these things right now, and some of you feel the pulse so strong, it might even make you feel a little scared because if that poll is real, it might ask you to change. Today we're talking about the identity of the spiritual entrepreneur. I wanna break down a little bit about what it means, how the awakening begins, and how to recognize if this path might be calling you, even if you haven't acted on it yet. Okay? You don't have to. Be somebody who's built a business or created a identity as an entrepreneur or a business person. Um, you just really need to know that in your heart you have this calling. And so what is a spiritual entrepreneur? So when people hear that phrase, they often assume it's simply means someone who sells spiritual services. But the truth is so much deeper than that. And if you are a spiritual entrepreneur and you have already tagged yourself this way, or defined your work this way, you understand the depth of what I'm talking about here. So let's dive in. A spiritual entrepreneur is somebody whose work becomes a vehicle for transformation. They build businesses. Yes, they build communities. They build bodies of work that help and serve people. They help to heal. People, grow, awaken, or reconnect with themselves. It doesn't always need to look the same. Some spiritual entrepreneurs are coaches and healers. Yes, true. Some are therapists, some run retreats, some build conscious companies rooted in values and emotional intelligence, nervous system awareness, intuitive leadership. Any of these things ring a bell. The thread connecting. Us all isn't a job title though. Okay. And I really want this to under you to understand as a spiritual entrepreneur, is not as much about the service you provide as who you are showing up in it. Okay. The thread that's connecting us isn't the job title. It's the mission and the work becomes more than a career. It, it becomes a form of service. And so if you are a spiritual entrepreneur, you have a calling, a mission to be of service in a certain way. And for many women, this path doesn't, it doesn't usually begin with like a business plan, and it begins with a shift, right? Like a little spark. And I think that a lot of us spiritual entrepreneurs are maybe to the outside world seeming a little haphazard. Because we are feeling a spark, we're following things that we can't necessarily, I mean, we are having a belief about ourselves and about our mission that isn't necessarily supported with evidence, right? There isn't anything saying, oh, you've done this, so you do this right. A plus B, we'll C. But sometimes it's not so clear on the track and it's more like, wow, this, I'm feeling so called to take something to a higher level or to shift completely over to the right. And so it leaves us. Feeling a little bit like, untethered, I guess is a good word. I do believe it begins with a shift. A moment when something inside you starts to question what you're doing. So spiritual entrepreneurialship asks us to, connect with ourself, connect with the world, yes, but with ourself. And we're gonna chat about that for a minute because one of the most important parts, but this spark. Happens, when you start to shift into I'm really having a higher calling here. A lot of times it's, through burnout, through discontent, through sometimes, personal healing. You know, something happens, you get sick or something big happens in your life and you have massive transitions happening. Major life transitions. Definitely catapult us into this kind of work. And suddenly, the old definition of success, it really just stops working. It doesn't feel the same, the promotions, the productivity, the status, they just don't satisfy in the same way anymore. And at the same time, a new curiosity begins. Right, and it can feel like, it can really feel like it is messing everything up, right? You can feel in the moment when it's first coming on, you know, you're supposed to be in this lane and all of a sudden you feel like you need to shift. And that can really, it can really create a lot of tension and conflict within yourself, but. That tension and that conflict within itself is what's also driving you towards deeper healing, right? The, maybe you're feeling more like you wanna learn more about meditation, or you're doing trauma healing, or you're experiencing more energy work, you're doing things to kind of expand you and to shift energetically. You're being drawn towards how to heal yourself and therefore. In the long run, you're healing other people. And so you begin noticing, synchronicities even, right? Like you start to notice your intuition is getting a little stronger because the closer you step into your calling, the more aligned you are, the more lit up your chakras are. The more lit up your energy system is, the more open you become to deeper connection to yourself, but also to source and to, energy. And so you begin noticing, these. Things happening and it's kind of cool. You're like, okay, I really like this a lot. And you see patterns more. Um, that's something that a lot of people will say is they see patterns in people and systems that you've never noticed before. You're like, huh, look at that. I've never noticed that before. You start feeling something surprising and it's like a desire. Something is like, you know, there's a switch, like an on switch that's starting to grow inside of you, and it can be a little frustrating when you're not ready to turn it on. However, it's often the beginning of the spiritual entrepreneur awakening, and I want you to just take in this for a minute. All right? I wanna ask you some of these questions and see. If you relate to this, because I feel like sometimes these things that start sparking within us is what actually catapults us out of the lane we're in and helps us jump over the other lane. So a sign might be that you experience success that doesn't have a lot of meaning to it. You're like, ah, this doesn't really, I still feel kind of void or empty in some way. You may have achieved things that many people admire, maybe it's a stable career. Maybe it's recognition, professional credibility, but deep down, something is still feeling incomplete. And not because you're ungrateful, but because your soul is asking for more purpose. And listen, even as spiritual entrepreneurs, I wanna be clear about this too. You can be experiencing, this while you're in the process of leveling up so you can be a spiritual entrepreneur and already be in your mission, already be in service and experiencing this strange shift that's happening. It's like, well, wait a minute. I love this. I, I mean, this was incredible. I was helping so many people. Why is this suddenly shifting within me? And it can create this feeling of tension. I, I don't understand, am I sabotaging this? am I getting caught up in old limiting beliefs? And so I'm suddenly shutting this down? I mean, you get kind of caught up in our stuff instead of realizing. Um, that is actually intelligence that we need to listen to this. This is intelligence that's shifting within me. This thing that I loved and adored is, shifting. And it's not because you are ungrateful or you know somehow messing this up, quote unquote, but it's because your soul is asking for more purpose. It's asking for you to step into the next level. And for a lot of us, there's multiple levels to our spiritual entrepreneurship. So there's multiple le levels in terms of how we're gonna grow, as you know, right? Where you begin isn't where we end up. And. I don't want you to pathologize the changes that occur. I don't want you to look at it and say, oh, what's wrong with me? I should want this, or it should be this way. I should have done this. I should have stuck with this instead of giving up on it, or things like that. I want you to recognize that you're, you're intuitive nudges are really what's pushing you forward here. So your intuition is likely also getting stronger, and I want you to just pay attention to that. And I think as a spiritual entrepreneur, that's part of the gift we do. We, we show up with our sensitivities. We can read people easily, we can sense emotional dynamics pretty quickly. You know, we can feel shifts in the room. We can receive strong, even internal guidance about decisions. But what once felt like sensitivity begins to reveal itself as a form of intelligence. And so how you might have operated is like, ah, I'm too sensitive In this situation, you're really able to step into this idea and this knowing that it is a form of intelligence. And so when you are looking at, you know, am I an spiritual entrepreneur, typically. You are feeling deeply connected to wanting to make a difference. That's why a lot of us are drawn towards some type of healing work. And it doesn't mean that you can be a hairdresser, and be a beautiful spiritual entrepreneur it is, again, not about the job title. It is about how you show up in that, right? About the conversations you're having about the beautiful work that you do and how that makes someone feel. The incredible synchronicities that occur within for you and your clients. And it's really all about how can I step up? And then within that, then that journey might shift and change into. Wow. I wanna impact more people. How can I do that? Or it might start to unfold into creating new opportunities for you to shift how you impact and how many people you impact. And it probably goes without saying that people naturally come to you for guidance, by the way. Like, friends, coworkers, strangers may feel comfortable opening up to you. I think that's just part of you having this sensitivity, this knowing, um, you're able to see people. In their totality, you know who they really are, even what they're thinking or just energetically you hold space maybe. I think that many of us often notice that we have been holding space for other people long before we actually formally step into that role, right? It's something we've been doing all our life, but I really think that. Another sign that this is something for you is that you, when you do get these, uh, pings to create something that's meaningful, they don't go away. And I think there is something about that that's a really special for us as we get these little Ps about where we can go. And of course You have the freedom to do whatever you choose here on Earth, right? So we have freedom to do that, to make our choices. And also we get these pings, we get these intuitive nudges, we get these desires, like we can even get fixated on something. But a lot of times for people who have this spiritual inclination towards business, we also find that it doesn't go away or the same few keep popping up. And that can be confusing. If you are a multi-passionate person and you have multiple passions, um, you find yourself pinging in all the directions and you're like, I don't know what to do first. I have an episode for that and I'll put it in the show notes because I think it actually is really helpful for you to think about if you're a multi-passionate entrepreneur. Like what, how do I move forward and how do I decide which thing to do? Right? So I will put that in the show notes because I think that would be really helpful. So I really wanna say it doesn't go away and sometimes it's like leading you to a coaching practice or a retreat or a community of conscious women, or it's a healing modality. Something that you feel like you wanna step into or something you wanna do that transforms other people. That has an impact that, that has a lot of meaning, but it also is like an intuitive hit inside you. Like, I, I need to do this. And so even if you haven't acted on it yet, the idea does return. That's why we refer to it as a calling, right? That's how callings work. They just keep repeating themselves and sometimes they shift, you know, they look a little different, but what this calling actually asks of you is important, right? So one of the most important things to understand about spiritual entrepreneurship is that it isn't just about helping other people. It's asking you to grow, and this is another very big important aspect. If you wanna call yourself, a spiritual entrepreneur, then you are a seeker. You are doing deep dives within yourself. Right. It is asking you to grow deeply because your business or your leadership will mirror your inner world, and you know that if you struggle with boundaries, it's gonna show up in your work. If you struggle with visibility or worthiness, that's gonna show up too. And this path asks. For three kinds of development, right? It asks for inner healing. It asks for you to really learn how to actually really, truly stand in your integrity, and it asks for ethical leadership and the courage to be visible in a way that may look so different from traditional success paths. It is not always easy and, but for many women it's also deeply fulfilling. But that courage to be visible in a way that may look different from traditional paths that could look like, uh, a woman who spent years building. Credibility in a corporate or professional environment. Suddenly feeling the call to talk about intuition, to bring in something, to, um, teach this to other people, to, to actually try to educate people around them about emotional intelligence in these spaces and where conversations really. Rarely happen about this stuff. Or maybe you have that one friend at work who, you know, likes to talk about this stuff, but then you really wanna bring it, you wanna uplevel it and you really feel like you wanna do the deeper work. And this can be painful because a lot of times you can feel like I'm a square peg in a round hole. I wanna do this deep work with everybody that I'm working with at this corporate office. Right? I really wanna, um, let's bring us down like 10 levels and really look at what we're doing here, even as a company and. Not everybody else are seekers and they're not really with you on that, or they're not seeking that out. And they are what I call sort of like surface level dwellers. Right. And this sounds a little belittling, and I don't mean it to, it's just truly how I I see it is that some of us just have. This propensity to go deeper. We have a way of like, let's live in the core of the earth and like dig deep and figure out, you know, why this is happening and what this is about and how this mirrors who I am and who you are and what, you know, how we're gonna grow in this and learn. And then other people are like, yeah, what's for dinner? Let's keep it simple. And you know, like it, it's a simpler life, right? It's easier to live in that space. But this spiritual work asks us to do the work, right? It asks us to dig deep Sometimes as a therapist or coach or a leader who begins integrating practices like meditation, somatic awareness, energy work into the way they support other people, and they're trying to figure out how to do that in a way that their colleagues aren't. What are you doing now? Right. I definitely stepped out of a spiritual closet and I had to put this out there to other people who aren't woo. Quote unquote, they are, you know, were, they were in a much more traditional path in terms of therapy, psychotherapy, and. I really had to step out of a spiritual closet and I did a three year energy medicine school and I did all this stuff. I did started teaching, uh, learning reiki and all these different modalities, and after getting sick again, that was what catapulted me. And you might have your own story, but one of the things that really catapulted me into stepping up is my own deep healing. Once we start doing our own deep healing and something catapults us into that. It's like hard to be anything else than ourselves, right? Because that's the whole point of the healing is to excavate ourselves and who we are and what we're here for. And so to go out into the world and try to be somebody else doesn't fit quite the same and try to have the conversations with your colleagues that you're like, but this, I really wanna talk about this over here. But either way, it asks us to stop performing in a certain way and start building work. That actually reflects who you are. It asks you to stop performing success. Stop performing what other people want you to be, and actually start building work that reflects who you are. And that can be very scary if you have programming that says that's not okay. You know, that's unacceptable. And if this resonates with you, right? If you're like, yes, I can, I resonate with being a spiritual entrepreneur, even if it's just in your heart at this point. I want you to do a few things, okay. First, I want you to stop minimizing your sensitivity. Sensitivity is often the foundation of your intuitive leadership when it's regulated and it's understood, it becomes an incredible strength. And so I'm too sensitive. I want you to stop saying that. I want you to really lean into what am I being feeling sensitive about? What is the healing I have to do here? Right? Is there a call for me to step in and and heal something for myself, or what is the boundary that needs to be? Or what is the work that needs to be done here? Your sensitivity is also going to be what allows you to read the room, allows you to, to really step into being an intuitive leader, and I want you to also invest in learning. Okay? If you, if you haven't already done this, I'm gonna assume you have, but study the skills that support the transformation, whatever that looks like for you. What are you feeling drawn towards? Step out. Put some energetic money where it belongs, like really step into looking where do, what could I do for myself? If you've been sitting on something for a long time and you like, you just aren't acting on it, this is your call to action. This is the, again, the year of the horse, right? The fire horse. This is when you have the opportunity that we've got a whole new energetic year here and we can really step into a higher level of ourselves right now., I don't care if it's small or tiny steps, really put some energy towards it and start opening yourself up to investing in learning, because competence builds confidence. Honestly, a lot of times we need courage and we need courage. Sometimes even over confidence and courage is really important and the most important. And a lot of times we really have to learn as we go and learn as we do. And a lot of us can get caught up in the, I call procrast to learning, right? Like we wanna learn and research, but I also really have to say there is a space for learning. And so. If you are being called, I want you to step in and say, I'm gonna give myself permission to learn that. I'm gonna give myself permission to dive deeper in this and find community because we really need other women. We being around other women walking this path is such a huge difference. Isolation. C creates doubt. Community creates momentum. So really put yourself out there to say, where, where can I even go? Even if it's an online community. And start before you're ready. By the way. You don't have to have everything figured out to begin. Write about what you are learning, right? Share your insights, put yourself out there. Hold conversations or gatherings or just somehow allow your, your voice to grow through practice. Sometimes we're afraid. To put ourselves out there, we feel like, I don't know what to say. I don't know what my messaging is yet. Well, sometimes we have to just throw spaghetti at the wall, like we have to put stuff out there until all of a sudden we're like, oh wait, this is my messaging. This is what feels right. This is what is super aligned with who I am.. and as you do this and as you start to share your insights and you start to see a pattern growing within you of where you're feeling drawn, just let it evolve. Most meaningful work doesn't begin fully formed. Okay. People. You are not the black belt of reti on the first day, even though I know you want that. I know. I want that. I love stepping into something, fully understanding and knowing it. It feels great, but this is not about feeling great. It's about having courage and putting yourself out there and trying, and so it grows as you grow. Allow yourself to experiment, explore, because that clarity often comes through action. So if this conversation resonates with you, I wanna leave you with something to consider the desire to build meaningful work. That truly, I mean, really helps people grow, helps people heal, helps people awaken, right? Changes their life. It isn't random. This isn't, not everybody wakes up and, and, and has those thoughts and feelings and they don't have that calling, that calling. It tends to appear in people who have the capacity to carry that calling, to put it out there and to step into it and act in it. So if you've been quietly wondering whether you might be meant to do something different, something more conscious, something that helps people and really impacts people's lives. The question may not be, am I capable? Right? The real question might be, am I ready to trust what's calling me? Can I trust it? Can I trust myself? Because it's really just a calling. And if we could just allow ourselves, you know, I have taught Reiki for many years, and. I always teach people, and it's always like a, an aha moment for most people to learn that you can just let go of the wheel. That you are just the vessel, that if you can just practice being a good vessel, then you can have everything right. If you could just be a vessel and let it flow through you and let it come to you, then you're good. It's all the pressure we put ourselves trying to control something, trying to force something. But if you're a good vessel, then you can just let something flow through you. And I'm asking you to do that here. Are you ready to trust what's calling you? And if you're just being a good vessel and you're building the muscle of just being a good vessel, what would that look like? How would you show up? Even before I made this podcast episode or before, I do many things in my life. I just ask to be a good vessel, and so I. I want you to step into practicing that muscle of trusting yourself, your calling, your intuitive hits, you know, the little nudges you get. So in the next episode, next week, we're gonna talk about one of the barriers that many women, I think face when they recognize this path. I am calling it the spiritual closet of high-achieving women and why so many powerful women hide their intuitive and spiritual gifts and what it takes to fully step into that identity because truly that closet's getting kind of full. And as it's getting full, it's probably getting a little bit uncomfortable. When that closet gets full, it gets uncomfortable to stay where you're at and not make a change in any way. I guarantee you, even if you do nothing, somehow something is going to change because truly it's hard to really start to feel the calling and feel the connection to it, to feel the work and to stay. It becomes more uncomfortable to stay in the closet than to get out of the closet, if that makes sense. And so I really want to dive in and help you guys kind of look at, even if you're already. You're a spiritual entrepreneur in the world. You are have stepped into your gifts and you've been doing something in this realm for a while now. I bet you there's a closet you're still in and I'd love to help you get out of it. So let's take a look at that next week. I'll look forward to talking to you then. Have a beautiful week. Bye for now.
