00:00 Introduction to Water's Role in Detox
Robby Besner (00:00): These wavelengths, they resonate, vibrate, harmonize at the same frequencies as the water inside of our bodies. And so if you drink a fair amount of water, you're probably 72% hydrated on a cell level. Your brain is about 81% water and your cell is about 98% water. And so water is a big part of the discussion in terms of detox because the water inside your body is the transport system to bring nutrition into the cell and it allows the cell through the semi-permeable membrane to get toxins and waste products out.
Sylvie Beljanski (00:41): Welcome to the Beljanski Cancer Talk Show where integrative science and holistic healing come together. I am Sylvie Beljanski and in each episode we explore nutrition, lifestyle, mental health and research-backed approaches to support the whole person through cancer and chronic diseases. Hello everybody and I'm delighted to have you today on the Beljanski Cancer Talk Show and my guest today for this event is Robby Besner. Robby Besner is known to be a philanthropist. He's the chief science officer and co-founder of Therasage. And he is also a pioneer in infrared healing technology. As a chief science officer, he has developed cutting-edge infrared solutions after his daughter's Lyme disease diagnosis led him to explore holistic healing. Now a global leader in the field, Robby speaks at top health conferences, serves on nonprofit boards, and continues innovating wellness solutions that empower people to take control of their health. Today we want to speak about everything you are doing.
00:29 Robbie Besner's Background and Childhood Inspiration
Sylvie Beljanski (01:45): But I would like first, Robby, to speak about you as a little boy. I understand that your daughter's diagnosis was a turning point in your career. But you as a little boy, how did little Robby get involved into research, science, and the perfecting of all those devices that affect our health?
Robby Besner (02:22): Wow, great question. And if I go back to a little boy, you have to qualify how little you want me to go. But as kind of an inventor, so to speak, I guess my childhood upbringing—my dad inherited a business, our family business, which was sort of a retail business. I grew up in New York and he brought me in now going back, you know, 60, 70 years. And back then we didn't have internet and cell phones. And so he'd commute back and forth. And so at a very early age, I was being told I was the man of the house which gave me a lot of rope to investigate my own ability to trust my own intuition as well as to be inventive and to be an explorer. And so that's an interesting quality that I just sort of semi became aware of mostly because I see it in my son who is 36 years old and he's also that type that he can read something, test something, test his own abilities. And there wasn't any limit as to the things that he could do as I found in myself.
02:07 From Family Business to Scientific Exploration
Robby Besner (03:30): So then undergrad sort of education I was in a liberal arts program but I also was centered on psychology and biology and was planning to go to medical school which I started on an allopathic track at Case Western Reserve. But the undergraduate applications, I really studied theology, I studied engineering, a little bit of business. I went to Boston University. And so they had many colleges and it gave me the ability to expand my own horizons to see exactly what my interests were. And I just thought back then if I tried enough things, almost like a pair of jeans that fit all the time. So I just wanted to see which jeans fit me in terms of that time in my life. So I followed an allopathic track, but when I started it didn't quite resonate for me. And this was close to 40 years ago. And at that point, I took a leave which I think crushed my parents because my mother was very happy about "my son, the doctor".
04:15 The Turning Point: Daughter’s Lyme Disease and Holistic Approach
Robby Besner (04:42): And I went into business and followed and developed and retired a few businesses. But I had a very strong understanding of biology, physiology, engineering, business. So I had already at that time built a lot of skill sets that brought me to the crossroad that you mentioned earlier about my daughter contracting Lyme disease. And when she got sick, we were very fortunate because we had means and we aligned with the top Lyme literate doctor in that area located in New York. My wife, Melody, and I would take turns going up to East Hampton where his clinic was about every six weeks where he would look at her progression and tweak her protocol. At that point, because my orientation in healthcare was a natural approach—now they call it integrative functional medicine—I was more into a homeopathic naturopathic type of approach. This was contra to the allopathic approach using heavy antibiotics. So while Dr. Joseph Burrascano was focused on the allopathic track, I took a look at the way that my daughter was expressing herself and it was high levels of toxicity, inflammation, cognitive challenges, and pain challenges. So I focused on toxicity and then did a deep dive as to the best methods to detoxify.
07:04 Infrared Spectrum and Its Health Benefits
Robby Besner (06:30): And then that's when I discovered that there's frequencies of sun energy, which is the infrared spectrum, that will actually mobilize all the toxins in your body. And that was a really tipping point for me because I took a look at the available devices that were being used in infrared in that category also in healthcare. It was being used by sports medicine doctors to help players lower their pain thresholds and heal faster from injuries. So that intrigued me and caused me to go to China for 90 days where I interviewed 65 factories and started to develop devices mostly just for home use. Julia responded so well to the intervention and the way that infrared would help detoxify that the doctors started to ask us to make these devices for their practices. That was kind of the genesis of our company, Therasage.
08:10 How Infrared Frequencies Support Detoxification
Sylvie Beljanski (07:46): You just mentioned infrared, you mentioned frequency detoxification. How do those things work together and what is the difference between infrared, red light, and frequency medicine? How do they support the detoxification of the body?
Robby Besner (08:10): Great question. Red light is very close to the bandwidth of near infrared. If you look at the full spectrum of frequencies that come from the sun, you start with gamma rays, then x-rays, then ultraviolet light, then the natural rainbow (visible light). Infrared frequencies are invisible to the eye and run in a range called a nanometer, from around 600 to around 14,000 nanometers. It comes in three different wavelengths. The red light sits right before the near infrared frequencies. These wavelengths resonate, vibrate, and harmonize at the same frequencies as the water inside of our bodies. Because the frequencies of infrared harmonize and resonate at the same frequency as water, when infrared frequencies come into the body, they reach a layer of fat just under your skin that probably holds 70% of the environmental toxins we take in through water, food, or air.
10:34 Infrared Sauna vs Radiant Heat for Detox
Robby Besner (10:34): If you compare infrared to radiant heat or convection heat (like a hot rock sauna or steam room), those heat the ambient air up that touches your skin. Eventually, you start to sweat out some of these poisons. Infrared doesn't heat the ambient air; it goes right through that insulating layer of fat and resonates with the water inside of your fat molecule, moving about two to three inches into the body.
11:29 Mobilizing Toxins with Infrared Bio Resonance
Robby Besner (11:15): That same resonance, called a bio-resonance, shakes loose the covalent bond between the toxin and wherever it's stored. About 80% comes out in your sweat and the other 15 to 20% goes into your bloodstream. For toxins like heavy metals or neurotoxins from mold, infrared frequency is particularly impactful because it breaks the covalent bond. These wavelengths create a vibration that mobilizes all the toxins in your body. Then it's up to your elimination systems like the lymphatic, liver, kidney, pancreas, and large intestine to pull poisons out and eliminate them.
13:01 Enhancing Elimination Systems and Using Binders
Sylvie Beljanski (13:01): Do you have also any system to make sure that everything is eliminated?
Robby Besner (13:11): I like combining an infrared protocol along with a binder. A binder could be activated charcoal or bentonite clay (a macro binder) or a nano binder like zeolite which is a silica derivative.
15:16 Assessing and Supporting the Lymphatic and Detox Systems
Sylvie Beljanski (13:41): How do you help eliminate the toxins once they are mobilized?
Robby Besner (15:16): The first thing I do is ask how their elimination system is working. Do they sweat easily? Do they poop regularly? If a patient is debilitated and bedridden, I can't give them a strong detoxification program because I'd just be mobilizing a toxin that they can't get out, which would make them feel sicker. If their systems are in place, we generally start with an infrared sauna with an intermediate goal of 130 degrees Fahrenheit for a 30-minute session. We also make sure everybody hydrates because most water we drink is not structured and not in alignment with the water inside your body.
17:39 The Fourth Phase of Water and Cellular Communication
Robby Besner (17:15): Infrared spectrum organizes the water inside of your body to be structured. This is the work of Dr. Gerald Pollack, who wrote The Fourth Phase of Water. He announced that the water inside your body acts differently than water in nature; it creates what he calls an EZ zone. Sunlight from infrared frequencies structures the water so that it creates better cellular communication from one cell to another.
18:47 TheraSage Devices and Their Applications
Sylvie Beljanski (18:25): Let's speak about Therasage and the tools you offer to help achieve these results.
Robby Besner (18:47): There are two methods we use to get infrared into the body. One is through the sauna, specifically our personal soft cabin format where your head is out. We do that on purpose so that you can raise your core temperature without raising your brain temperature, which starts to degrade at 105 degrees Fahrenheit. The other format is an on-body experience using something like a healing pad. You can bring that technology to a specific zone you want to treat—what we call "Thera Love"—as opposed to the full body experience of a sauna.
20:24 Personal Experience with Infrared Pads During Stressful Times
Sylvie Beljanski (20:24): I have experienced your pad during a very stressful time in my life. Using it every evening helped me face the demanding days that followed, and I'm very grateful for your technology.
21:13 Shifting the Autonomic Nervous System to Calm
Robby Besner (21:13): That is one of the features we go for: shifting your autonomic nervous system from sympathetic dominance (stress) to parasympathetic (calm). When your body is in a calm state, it can optimize its experience with any intervention, whether nutritional or supplemental.
23:07 Overview of Therasage’s Product Line
Sylvie Beljanski (23:07): Can you tell us more about what is available for patients?
Robby Besner (23:07): We have a full catalog now. Beyond the on-body and full-body devices, we have portable performance devices like the TheraSculp. It uses light frequencies and EMS (vibrational magnetic vibration) to create better blood flow and increase the natural production of nitric oxide. This helps with vasodilation and triggers your blood to grab more oxygen. We've curated special frequencies based on science and biology studies to do very specific things.
27:11 Choosing the Right Home Devices for Infrared Therapy
Sylvie Beljanski (27:11): What should people look for when purchasing such a device for home use?
Robby Besner (27:27): It's important to work with established companies that do their own research. Everything we've made has been laboratory tested and guided by the FDA as class two medical devices. We use third-party groups like United Laboratories for electrical testing and NAMSA for biological materials that touch your skin. Every nanometer in the light spectrum has a different influence on your biology.
29:25 Full Spectrum Infrared and Mimicking Nature
Robby Besner (29:25): We've taken a page out of the book of nature and delivered full spectrum infrared in our saunas—the full range in the same proportion that the sun delivers it to the planet. We try to recreate nature so you can create the same physiological event in your home at any time.
31:54 Sauna Duration and Core Temperature for Health
Sylvie Beljanski (31:40): How long do you stay in the sauna?
Robby Besner (31:54): For normal health, maybe 30 minutes. If you're raising your core temperature to fight off invaders like viruses or bacteria, you want to reach 101 to 101.5 degrees, where your natural immune system (T57 killer cells) is 800 times more active. This may take 45 minutes to an hour. We recommend working up to longer sessions over a three to four-week period.
34:57 Detoxing and Peeling the Onion of Toxins
Robby Besner (34:40): Detoxifying is like peeling an onion with many layers, so you have to start off slow and work your way into that process.
35:19 Reducing Electromagnetic Burdens in Daily Life
Sylvie Beljanski (34:56): How can people reduce exposure to wireless devices and 5G?
Robby Besner (35:19): In our devices, we use a technology called harmonization where we install hologram chips that generate a wavelength to neutralize the effect of these signals.
36:56 Infrared and Heat in Cancer Support
Sylvie Beljanski (36:48): For people who have cancer, what would be the first steps?
Robby Besner (36:56): Overall, we all can benefit from detoxifying the chemicals we are exposed to in our water, food, and home environments. Many cancers are heat-sensitive, and hyperthermia (raising core temperature) is used actively in Europe to fight off cancer.
40:04 Science-Backed Natural Compounds for Cancer Support
Sylvie Beljanski (40:04): When cancer enters your life, the Beljanski Foundation offers evidence-based resources exploring integrative approaches to cancer alongside conventional care.
44:28 Breathing Light: The New Frontier in Cellular Energy
Robby Besner (41:37): I'd like to highlight a new technology called TheraAir. It recreates a dynamic from the rainforest where sunlight restructures a water droplet to form SOE (singlet oxygen energy).
45:24 TheraAir: Breathing Light into Your Mitochondria
Robby Besner (43:10): With TheraAir, you are basically breathing light directly into your mitochondria, the powerhouse of the cell. People with chronic ailments often have mitochondrial dysfunction. We deliver this in three formats: a night table unit for sleeping, a portable unit with a cannula, and a larger commercial unit for clinics.
47:19 Bringing Nature into Your Home with Infrared Technology
Robby Besner (47:19): Our goal at Therasage is to develop devices you can use at home that mimic nature, bringing nature back into our modern, disconnected lives.
