Welcome to Breathwork, a poetic breathwork experience. I'm your host and breathwork facilitator, annie, and I'll be guiding you through 12 minutes of three-part breathwork. If you're new to the three-part breath, I suggest visiting breathworkcom first to get acquainted. Today's theme is the summer sun during this Leo season, reminding us to shine bright. The sun symbolizes power, vitality and self-assurance, and this season represents a time for creativity, boldness and self-expression. For creativity, boldness and self-expression Is there an area of your life where you feel like you're playing small or not fully expressing your real self? I've been thinking a lot lately about how the things that lit you up as a child, your true passions, your skills, seem to be the truest representation of yourself in adulthood, whatever your skill, passion or vision is. I hope this breathwork practice helps you get ready to stand in the spotlight boldly and proudly. And with those ideas in mind, we'll embark on a 15-minute breathwork journey to clear space and create room for the freedom to express ourselves. I'll be guiding you through a three-part breath. As a reminder, this breath is done lying down completely flat. All breaths are through the mouth as you cycle the breath from the belly to the chest and exhale. Before we start, gently put a hand on your stomach and a hand on your chest, inhale air into the belly. Now inhale into the chest, shifting it up into your heart space and exhale, fully, repeathaling into your belly. Pressing against your hand Now shifting that air up into your chest, inhaling, nudging that top hand and then fully releasing. As always, you may experience tingling or numbness in your face or limbs, getting hot or cold or cramped hands or numbness in your face or limbs, getting hot or cold or cramped hands. This is all normal and I encourage you to lean in If it ever becomes too much. Take a few breaths through your nose before returning. Once we've completed the three-part breath, you'll relax for a song. Before I read a poem I wrote for you containing messages from the summer sun.

Now let's get started. We'll start with some easy breaths through the nose and out through the mouth, just to get grounded in the breath. Make sure you're in a comfy spot, no distractions, and start gently taking inhales through the nose and out through the mouth, gently cycling in through the nose and out through the mouth, through the mouth, releasing any tension in your jaw, allowing your forehead to completely relax, expressionless, restful, letting your limbs fall against the ground as you take these nice, easy inhales and exhales. Baby, shake your head side to side, getting your hips nice and relaxed against the ground, inhaling this relaxation and exhaling anything that happens before right now Clearing, clearing the mind, resting the body, grateful for this small break from the everyday. Gratitude for our breath, gratitude for the ability to fill our lungs, to fill our belly and experience other parts of our minds, the parts that are always there underneath the racy thoughts.

Breathwork Journey With the Sun

A couple more inhales and exhales, getting ready to enter into the three-part breath. So, belly chest exhale, belly chest exhale. Belly chest exhale, all through the mouth, cycling the breath In a looping circle as you bring air into the belly, shift it to the chest and then release. Not forcing, not foreseen, just letting them flow like a wave up into the belly, into the heart space, letting it go Inhale, exhale, inhale, inhale, exhale. As we move into our second song, we'll pick up the beats just a little bit. Inhale, inhale, exhale. Find those two quicker inhales, quicker exhale, challenging yourself knowing that we're only here for a collective 12 minutes. Belly chest release. Belly chest release, keeping it up, pushing past, pushing past that resistance you got it.

Doing great, taking nice short breaths or deep ones, whatever works for you. Halfway through this song, halfway through this song, belly chest release. Belly chest release. Belly chest release. Breathing in love and exhaling fear, remaining present, showing up for yourself, breathing in love. You're almost halfway through the breath part and then you're going to take a deep breath, allowing any sensations to come up. Belly chest release. Belly heart, let it go, cycling the breath, knowing that things are so good on the other side. Almost through this song, keep up the breaths into this next song. Now we're finding the beat to this next song Belly, belly chest exhale, belly chest exhale. Belly, chest exhale. Signing the beat, keeping it up, losing yourself in the breath and in the music. Quick, shallow breaths. We're going at the pace that works for you, maybe changing your mouth position, whatever feels most comfortable. And eight and nine, you're doing great. Almost to the sun, keep up the nice quick raps In, in, out, in, in, out, in and out, in and out.

Almost to our last final song of the three-part breath, challenging yourself to keep it up. Transition into our last song, taking some nice deeper breaths to ease in. Belly, lift me from the ground, talk to me, I love it. So Belly chest exhale. Lift me from the ground. I've been trying to come down. I've been trying to come down. Lift me from the ground, hold your breath in, sip it in. Hold your breath. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Release, release, in, in, out, in, in, out, in, in, out. Keep it up Less than two minutes to go. Maybe any fears and letting them go. Bring it home. Just a minute Deepest breath.

Final breaths. You made it. Now you can switch to nasal, breathing Lightly, inhaling through the nose, exhaling through the mouth, relaxing, no-transcript. Your eyes remain closed as you gently rest and a bright, blinding light fills your mind. The light then softens as you find yourself lying on a cotton light cloud in a turquoise sky. Hello, sweet friend, says a voice, and you realize it's from the hot breath of the sun. I've been shining my brightest for you lately and I've loved watching your summer fun and I loved watching your summer fun. There's some things I want to show you how I'm like you and you're like me. Take a look out of this telescope, says the sun, and I'll show you what I mean.

Speaker 2

You turn to your left to find the telescope and up to its lens you put your eye. You zoom in on your neighborhood, where you spend most your time. Everything appears more vibrant. Leaves on the trees reflect lime, green, coral, red, bursts on blooming petals. Even dandelions look like a lush citrine. The sun says my light contains all colors, the whole rainbow in equal parts. Yours does too, when you choose to explore where boredom ends and beauty starts.

Speaker 2

The telescope then shifts into your home and you see yourself looking tense, doubting your choices and your worth wishing that this world made more sense. Just then the sound of laughter thunders and you realize it's coming from the sun. The sound of vibrations are contagious and you find yourself laughing right along. And vibrations are contagious and you find yourself laughing right along. What if I told you it doesn't really matter those things that are only skin deep? The sun tells you not to be so concerned about things on the surface that you can see.

Looks can be deceiving, says the sun. Looks can be deceiving, says the sun. Like me who looks like a fire to most, but it's really the energy at my core allowing me not to burn but always glow. It's this nuclear fusion that lights us up, the reactions that take place on our insides, where your heart is allowed to love and where your true strength is derived. The sun shares its final thoughts. As you recline back onto the peachy cloud, I hope you create art that is too much or wear colors that seem too loud. Create art that is too much or wear colors that seem too loud, and please allow your energy to radiate from your core to the world outside, finding yourself reinvigorated in the belief no-transcript.
