What The Bleep is Behaviour Change Anyway
Peppery conversations between Chartered Psychologist Serena Simmons and Clinical Hypnotherapist Sally Garozzo about what it really takes to make changes.
Living optimally as a human will inevitably require some modifications to our behaviour.
Maybe your doctor has told you that intermittent fasting will help your pre-diabetis?
Maybe your therapist has said it will be helpful for you to turn off all screen at 10pm?
Or maybe your partner has asked you to communicate with them more clearly?
That’s all well and good but HOW do you do that?
Lucky for you, behaviour change is a skill that we can learn and Serena and Sally are here to guide you through the ins and outs.
This podcast is for you if you’re a person wanting to change anything about your life, a ‘life athlete’ wanting to optimise your life, or a healthcare professional working with people who’s lives depend on making changes.
What The Bleep is Behaviour Change Anyway
S1/E6 Beliefs
In this conversation Sally and Serena discuss beliefs and how they show up in our psyche. They explore the ideas of ‘conflicting beliefs’ and ‘bothism’ and how we’re allowed to be ‘messy humans’ but how that might sometimes stop us from getting what we want. They also discuss what influences our belief systems, how our expectations may affect the change we experience. Sally and Serena explore the conundrum of humans not being hard wired to change (when they actually might want to) and how much intention it actually requires to change when nature is invested in the status quo. They also discuss questions like: How might it be possible to change our beliefs, do certain titles make people more beliveable and why psychopaths are skilled influencers, this lead to have an idea about our season 2 content.
