This episode Coryne & Francene deep dive the latest episode!!

The girls wrestle with the question how and if partners can/want to change for each-other. For Miranda this means fitting her busy schedule to lover Steves late hours as barman and cuddling appetite when she wants to start the working day. Carrie wants to stop Big ogling other women and other 'little' things. When Charlotte decides her uncircumcised lover, restaurant critic Mike, looks like a sharpei below the belt, he decides to everyones surprise to get cut, but the psychological side-effect of his 'second virginity' makes her regret his move. Samantha is happy being the flexible one, but it rattles even her to meet a former lover who had a sex operation and renamed himself after her.

francene:

Look at that. What'd you do? Oh my god, I got a webcam.

coryne (2):

That's awesome, do you love it?

francene:

This is so like when did people get webcams?

coryne (2):

It was like the late, I don't know, was it the late 90s or the early 2000s?

francene:

Late 90s? Oh god, I'm like 20, 25 years out.

coryne (2):

Had to have been the early 2000s. It had to be like right at the cusp of the millennia. What is that concoction?

francene:

Oh my gosh. Let me tell you it's a take on an Aperol spritz.

coryne (2):

Yeah,

francene:

but it's not as bitter

coryne (2):

Yeah,

francene:

it tastes so good

coryne (2):

Oh

francene:

My god, I cannot wait to have fun. How's your week going?

coryne (2):

It's been a week It's there's like this week is it's tough, but you know, some weeks are like that

francene:

Yeah, at least you're ending out in a high.

coryne (2):

Do what? You

francene:

At least you're going to be ending it on a high.

coryne (2):

Yes, thankfully. I'm looking forward to that. And we have like our big Halloween thing in our neighborhood this weekend. And so the weekend should be fun. Yeah. Are y'all dressing up? Yeah. Crossing, you know, she dictates our outfits every year and they're always it's always like a whole theme. And this year me and her and her best friend and her. And her whole family are all going to be versions of Katy Perry from the dark horse video.

coryne:

That's cool. Very random.

coryne (2):

Are like three different costumes that Katy Perry is in. And then me and her, my neighbors, the mom and dad are going to be these like Egyptian cats that are in the video.

francene:

Oh, I love that way. Is she a big fan of Katy Perry?

coryne (2):

She is a fan. She was a big fan of Katy Perry until she fell in love with Taylor Swift and she is so now she's like, you know, a hardcore Taylor Swift, but they do also still love Katy Perry.

francene:

I appreciate that. I feel Katy Perry doesn't get enough. Credit credit.

coryne (2):

Yeah, she's, she's pretty awesome in of her own right. And like, I like, you know, she has good like she writes, I don't know if she writes her own music, but her music is very like empowering. It is. Yeah, she's, she's pretty awesome. She's actually one of the like, few celebrities I've seen in person. Oh, really? Where? I've told you this. She was at Magic one year at the shoe show when she launched her own label. Yes. She was there, like, launching her brand.

francene:

That is very cool. I recently, like, last month, I listened to this podcast called Shameless. I

coryne (2):

love that podcast.

francene:

Yes. Oh, my God. It is so good. And you know, they do like a profile. So they have like a three part series on Katy Perry and like, just like the last well, throughout her career, but honestly made me look back and be like, yeah, like, why don't I listen to her anymore? And you know, she released her new album.

coryne (2):

Yeah. She has so

francene:

much slate for it. It is really good.

coryne (2):

I haven't listened to it yet. I like it. I know. I can't. My Apple Music only knows how to play Taylor Swift. It's like the only thing. I know,

francene:

mine's is, I have to admit, mine's

coryne (2):

is a little bit like that too. I cannot honestly, in my entire life, think of an album that I have listened to damn near exclusively Torture's Poets come out? June?

francene:

I don't know, but I. Yeah. Yeah.

coryne (2):

It was in June or May. And that's literally all I've listened to since that moment.

francene:

Which is in, in track, like not to totally digress, but like when I first heard that album, I was like, nah. And now I love it. Oh, I love it. Yeah. No, same.

coryne (2):

When I, cause it was so, it was so melancholy and like none of the like club beats, you know? Yeah. Yeah. Same. The first time I listened to it, I was like, I was like, I mean, it's good. Like, I appreciate the lyrics, but I wasn't like, people are

francene:

going crazy.

coryne (2):

Yeah, no, and then like the second time, by the third time I listened to it, I was completely obsessed with

francene:

it. Same, same. Okay, so this week we are talking about season two, episode nine, Old Dog, New Dicks. I love the name, I just love the names of these episodes. I

coryne (2):

know. What I, I didn't, I got it about A third of the way through the episode. I was like, Oh, okay. Got it. Got it. Got where that's coming from.

francene:

Yes. Same. I was like, wait, why are we talking about this? And then it immediately dawned on me and I was like, okay, I get this. Okay. So we start off. Where it's Carrie in the background, you see scenes of New York in fall, and she's talking about how women in New York are the most beautiful in the world. And then you start seeing people kind of walking down the street and they are just stunning, of course. Right. So annoying. I need to like, Get rid of my notifications. Anyway, then you see like the men like turning around constantly checking them out. And then all of a sudden we zone in on Carrie. She's walking with big and he immediately checks out a woman.

coryne (2):

And the thing that I hate about it is because they look so freaking adorable at first, you know, like, like they're so loved up. Oh, and her, she, her dress is just like great. Like she's the

francene:

floral.

coryne (2):

It's such a good outfit. And I'm just like, Oh, and then he immediately like, you know, sees another hot girl like can't help but turn his head. And she's like miffed to say the least.

francene:

I feel like, I don't know, like, do you care? Like if you were out with Jason, like he turned like a part of me would be like, Hey, if they're good looking, like I also appreciate that too.

coryne (2):

Right. And I mean, I definitely think that it is, it is relative to how secure you're feeling in your relationship. Yep.

francene:

Yeah,

coryne (2):

you know, like I could definitely see it bothering me in points where like if you know you were having A plethora of different issues, but for the most part, like, I'm the one who's like, Oh my, did you see?

francene:

I'm the same. I'm the same. I feel like I'm like, Oh my God, either I love her outfit or like, Oh my God, that girl is so hot right now. And I will say, I do appreciate Aaron is like, Oh, who? Yeah, I mean, she's okay. Whereas I'm like, come on.

coryne (2):

I love that. Don't give me that shit. While it doesn't bother you. You also have like the perfect.

francene:

Don't get me wrong. If he was like, Oh yeah, she's super hot. I'd be like,

coryne (2):

That's hilarious. Yeah. I mean, I I don't know. I think that it is, it's all relative. Like I could definitely see where it wouldn't bother me at all. And I could definitely see situations where it would be a major sticking point, you know.

francene:

Yes. But obviously we can tell that this is going to be an issue for Carrie. So little crazy Carrie is coming out just a little bit here. And then immediately it cuts to, she's walking with Samantha and basically she's bitching about the fact that big spin checking women out. And how Samantha's like, if that's like the only thing you're dealing with right now, like.

coryne:

Yeah,

francene:

get over it type thing. She's like, yeah, you can't change someone and carries kind of like, well, I just want to make a little tweaks

coryne (2):

What I will say that like I've you know, Samantha's not wrong You know like that in the grand scheme of all the things especially as far as big and Carrie have come I know like this is we're down. We are down to the tweaks, you know, yes Let's try to keep the crazy like it relative to like the size of the problem we're dealing with at this point, Gary. Not that she's capable of that, but

francene:

this is why I appreciate it when she brings this up with like Samantha, because I feel like Samantha is a good like leveler.

coryne (2):

Yeah. Yeah, definitely. Yes, especially because I feel like Samantha always can kind of see it from the guy's perspective. Yes, which I

francene:

personally appreciate. I like hearing it.

coryne (2):

Right. I don't really agree with it, but I like to hear it. Yes. Yeah, same.

francene:

Okay. So then Carrie's kind of like, okay. So then it cuts to Miranda who is sleeping on her sofa, looking very peaceful, waiting for Steve to get off his shift. And you know, one of the things I wrote, which is probably such a bitchy comment, but I'm like, she's clearly in like her, the clothes that she wore to work. And I'm like, firstly, like be in your pajamas or why wouldn't you be wearing something a little bit more like, Oh, okay. Steve's coming over. We just started dating.

coryne (2):

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I know. Well, especially because like when, when they first cut to her and she's sleeping, like I, my guess was like, it's 10 o'clock at night, but then you realize it's like three in the morning. Yes. Yeah. It's like, dude, I'm, I'm in my jammies. I would have been in bed to be honest. I'm not, I'm not staying in my work clothes until three in the morning. And like, I didn't sleep. Yeah. I mean, maybe she thought, maybe she, like, I could see the, like, you just started dating. So it's like, you know, I look put together. I'm just going to stay looking put together. That's a long time. Like, even if she worked late and got home at eight, like, that's a long time to be waiting. And he says he thought they were going to close the bar too. So she knew, like, he was going to be there late, no matter what.

francene:

I know. I can't. Honestly, she, like, I take comfort over. Looking sexy at that point. I don't know. Like the minute I get home I'm like, I just wanna get changed.

coryne (2):

Yeah, same. I've like say even when I come home, like, you know,'cause I work from home. So like if I know that I'm done like having to see other people and it's two in the afternoon, like I'm gonna be in like, like yoga pants. Yeah. Same like, you know, like I'm not yeah, for sure. I'm definitely that. Get into cozy clothes as soon as you get home person.

francene:

Yeah. So. Anyway, Steve gets in. She looks so sleepy. Great acting skills.

coryne:

I would, I

francene:

would be

coryne:

too.

francene:

But like she really generally does. So he opens the door and he's like, Oh, I'm sorry. Like, what have you been up to this evening? And she's like, I don't know. I've been asleep. So then they're on their sofa. He's like chit chatting honestly. Steve is me. Like, you know, the minute he's like, well, let me tell you, like, this person was saying this and immediately she falls asleep. I'm like, well, that's Aaron and then she starts snoring and I appreciate that Steve is just like, Oh,

coryne (2):

I know like that. That's just like this. The things about Steve that I just adore is like those that exact. Yeah. Like he's not

francene:

annoyed. He's just like. Yeah. Yeah. That's sweet. Like he's just happy to be with her. He's happy to go home, be with her.

coryne (2):

Even if she's asleep, he's like, I'm just happy to be here. Yeah.

francene:

Yeah. He's like, I'm here. But then in the morning he is up for it. Full on up for it. They're clearly on like the opposite schedule. And she kind of meant or Carrie, I guess in the voiceover kind of mentioned mentions that where he's like, okay, I'm ready for it. And Miranda's like, no, I need to go to work.

coryne (2):

Yeah. But she still does it. But, but yeah, I mean, that definitely it's tough to be on opposite schedules with someone like, or even to be on schedules that are just like several hours off, you know, like she's like

francene:

a night shift. Yeah. I don't know. Like I, I personally would struggle with that cause I like my sleep. Like I just don't know if I would stay up and I don't think I'd want anyone to wake me up at that point.

coryne (2):

Yeah. I mean, Michael and I, you know, he, the last like And I was like, Oh my God. No, God, longer than that. Like the last, like six years of our relationship, he worked. He had to be at work at 5 00 AM. So he woke up at like 3 50 in the morning. Because it was like a 35 minutes.

francene:

Early.

coryne (2):

And so he would go to bed. He didn't have to, he was asleep by eight 30 every night. Yeah. So like Him and Crossin essentially were like going to bed at the same time.

francene:

They had their schedule.

coryne (2):

Yeah. Yeah. And then like every night, like from 8. 30 until I would go to bed, like 10. 30, 11, like I was like, so low. And thankfully, you're like, Oh, what am I going to watch? Yeah. Yeah. For real. Like, thankfully, Michael's one of those people who can sleep. Sleep with the TV on like it doesn't bother him. So I could at least like be in bed with him and watch TV. I cannot. Like it has to be pitch black and white noise and no other sounds and no other lights and don't like, and stop moving. What are you doing?

francene:

Yeah. Yeah. I'm, I'm definitely, I can sleep through anything. I don't care.

coryne (2):

That's lucky.

francene:

That is hard though. It is a hard.

coryne (2):

Well, I mean, it would definitely. Yeah. I mean, it was hard on, on he and I, because, and then like poor guy, like on, you know, the weekends it's, it gets hard to like, adjust that much. Like he could stay up to like 10 30, but like, you know, like, I mean, that's tough because like, yeah, you get on that schedule. Like he still does that. He still has that schedule. And I'm like, Oh, really? I do not. The one thing that was really great with a young child was he was done with work by three o'clock every day, so he was home by like 3. 30, so he did get like big chunks of time with her in the evening, which, you know, it was great for her and like really got, because I mean, if he had gotten home, gotten home at like seven, you know, like he would have literally kissed her as she was going to bed, like, you know, and that's

francene:

the other schedule. Yeah. Like being a parent that I also couldn't do.

coryne (2):

Yeah. The whole

francene:

like working late, like every night, I couldn't do that.

coryne (2):

I know. I feel so, I feel so much for those parents that like, they just don't have a choice. Yeah. I know. They're having to drop kids off at daycare at like seven in the morning so that they can fight traffic and get to work by eight. And then like, by the time they fake trafficking it back to day, it's like six o'clock by the time you get home dinner, all that. Like, I mean, you're spending. Like you just

francene:

rush, like you just rush like the whole time.

coryne (2):

I know. Like that. I, I feel so bad. I feel like COVID, that was one of the good things about COVID was like, it reset all of that. And like, I know like neighbors of ours that were doing that a couple and they both kind of had those schedules and two daughters and like, but then with COVID happened, like it completely changed. And like, neither one of them has to work a five day work week anymore. Like they have these like hybrid schedules and it's like, that's, Fantastic.

francene:

Yeah, see, that is good. But you know, like not to digress, but it's crazy how many company and like I work for a company I go in every day. And we never really like changed. But all the other companies Like Amazon and, and those types of companies that were like, no, no, no, hi work from home. That's fine. Remote people moved. Right. People literally moved from like Texas, like colder places. And now they're like, no, no, no. You need to like, come back into the office. I'm like, yeah, you're like that. Like, did we, didn't we learn anything from COVID that like really we can function

coryne (2):

clearly. That's what's

francene:

sad to me.

coryne (2):

It's like better like work life balance when you're, it's something that I read about it. I also have written a few things on it for clients that are, that, that is relative to their business models. How the hybrid work schedule or what they're calling flexible work schedules has become one of the like top three things that potential hires are looking for.

francene:

Yeah.

coryne (2):

Like, like equally as important as pay is like, and they'll say, sure. If they have a more flexible, which I get it, like, I mean, it's, it's my favorite thing about what I do. Yeah, it was like time becomes

francene:

more

coryne (2):

valuable.

francene:

Yeah, it is. It really, yeah, it's definitely. One

coryne (2):

thing we cannot make more of for ourselves.

francene:

No. So I, I feel for Miranda and Steve and their opposite sex schedule right now, but clearly Miranda was okay that morning. She was okay. Making it work. She, she powered through. So then we cut to Charlotte who is seeing Mike. He was a restaurant critique and they're sitting in her bed or his bed, wherever they are. And you know what I love about Charlotte is when she's like, let's make love. I know. I love her. I love it. So, by the way, I watched this with Aaron the other night. I was like, do you want to watch this with me? And he's like, sure. And I know he loves it. But when I was watching it, it was just so interesting because she obviously saw that he was uncircumcised and was like, oh, what is this? Whereas for me coming from the UK, Like, that is fully the norm, fully the norm. Yeah,

coryne:

oh, I didn't think of that. Yes,

francene:

that's why I was like, isn't that so interesting? Whereas, I think if I saw an circumcised one, I'd be like, You'd be like, whoa, what is happening here? Where's the skin? What'd you do? It's so out there. Is that a birthday thing? What happened? So I was like, This was one of like the only episodes that I was like, I really struggle to like relate to this because I feel the complete opposite because of how, I don't want to say what I was exposed to. That's

coryne (2):

funny, I didn't even consider that, but that is totally like a, is that just a US thing?

francene:

I, I don't, I should fact check this, but I think so. And also, wait, I did write this down. They were talking about it later, and I think. They said, sorry, 85 percent of males are not.

coryne (2):

Yeah. So then that would make sense that it's like a U S let me Google that. Now I got to know is circumcision, circumcision. Cause I asked

francene:

Aaron, I was like, if we had a boy, would you circumcise? And he was like, absolutely not. But then I was like, but if we live here, I don't also want. A Charlotte out there being like, Oh, what is going on right now?

coryne (2):

So circumcision varies widely by country, Muslim and Jewish countries. It's almost universal in those countries such as Iran, Iraq, and Israel. Circumcision rates vary by country with lower rates in Western countries like France, Germany, and the

francene:

UK.

coryne (2):

So it's cause that's what I was thinking is it's mostly a religious. Like, it's origins were religion. But then I think Maybe not so

francene:

much. Because I know, like, my friends here who, like, aren't religious, like, they're kids, little boys. They've been circumcised.

coryne (2):

But see, now, I think in the U. S., it's become a health thing, like, and, and which I think is bullshit, honestly. I'm so glad I didn't have a boy and I didn't have to make this decision. I, I

francene:

wouldn't want to make the decision. Yeah. It's

coryne (2):

a, it's a prophylactic and preventing sexually transmitted diseases. And I think that, like Oh, really? Bye. Yeah, my my cousin has a son and it was a big conversation between the two of them of her and her husband to do it or not do it. And they're also pretty religious. They're Catholic. And I can't remember what they did. I can't remember which, like what, how Catholicism played into it. But I remember it being a part of the conversation. I know what they did, but that's their business. But, but like, I remember it was like this whole thing and it was, I had no, like, Prior experience with it. Cause I had a daughter and like, I never had to make that choice, you know, until I heard her like go through this whole, like, do we, don't we conversation, you know, they were having, I was like, Oh, that's something you have to like decide. I just thought it was like what you did. Like, I know, but it's not. Apparently you have to choose when you have a boy anyway, that's crazy, but yeah, it's so funny. I love the next morning when the girls are at breakfast and Gary's like, that's the first time you've seen one. And she's like, I'm from Connecticut. Yeah. I

francene:

know. And she's like, I'm pretty sure she quotes and she's like, there was just so much skin, which again, I'm like, I, I don't know. If not, it's like naked little jacket. But then Darn it, what did, Samantha said something great and I can't remember what she said.

coryne (2):

Oh shit, I don't remember either. Did she say like a

francene:

tootsie pop or something?

coryne (2):

Did she

francene:

say something like that? I remember like laughing a little bit. I was like, that's funny.

coryne (2):

I didn't, it didn't stick in my brain what she said, but that sounds like her. That sounds like something she would say.

francene:

And then I think Carrie was like, when Miranda was talking about like the stats of like 85 percent are not circumcised. Yeah. Carrie was like, well, maybe their parents were hippies. And that's why I was like, I turned to Aaron. I was like, wait, what? Like, and that's when I was like, okay, we had a boy, like, would you do it? And he was like, absolutely not. And I was like, I don't know, like we live in America. Like, I don't want my kids to be like made fun of.

coryne (2):

I don't want to have a problem with the ladies.

francene:

No, I don't want someone to say he's got too much skin.

coryne (2):

This is not, I will say this is not a conversation I've had with my girlfriends. It's not something that like, I can think of anyone ever bringing up as like an ick. But do you

francene:

think it's because

coryne (2):

Probably because most of the guys we've had sex with are circumcised, but like I've, I've know that I've seen like two, so like, you know, there's, they're out there, but I don't think it's not happening, but like none of my girlfriends have ever brought that up as like a thing. Like, you know, like, yeah, I've never

francene:

had that conversation. So I

coryne (2):

don't think if you, if you had, it makes me want to

francene:

though, again, I want to do a poll.

coryne (2):

Boss, everyone. Pros and cons. Did you call the Fredericksburg audience with our question from last week? Oh my gosh. We need, we need more details.

francene:

Yes, we need more. So then it cuts to that night big and Carrie are out for dinner. And she's like chitchatting. And then. A lady walks past who is stunning and immediately he's, oh no sorry, they were like walking and immediately Oh, wait, I'm sorry. They're at dinner.

coryne (2):

He lights up a cigar inside a restaurant and the waitress comes over and she's a looker. And he's already like, he already like followed her with his eyes. Yes, that's right. And then she comes up and like asks him to put it out. And it is very charismatic. But Privileged white man way is like trying to convince her that he doesn't have to and she's like, I mean, I don't care. But you know, the other Patriot, he's like, let me ask him. He like gets up. He's like asking the other, and they're all women, the patrons of the restaurant, if they don't care, if he smokes and like, they all say they don't care. And Carrie's like, I didn't have the guts to tell him that it was bothering me at that point.

francene:

With how he was also acting.

coryne (2):

Yes. Yes. Yeah. And then they leave the restaurant and that's when they're like on the sidewalk and a woman walks by it. That's it. Fair. The other thing too, is like, you're not just like noticing,

francene:

like at this point, but then also I have to say, because I also, I, I made comments out loud and Aaron wasn't engaging with me during this period that I was talking out loud, but I was like, to be fair. The girl that walked past was wearing, like, PVC, black, tight, like, well, I mean, it was

coryne (2):

A spectacle.

francene:

Yes. I mean, I probably would have double checked as well, so I feel he was a little bit set up for failure to, like, through this scene, but yes, he is very obvious in the fact that he is fully, like, not just, like, side eye, he is, like, looking around.

coryne (2):

And Carrie, like, grabs his face, Carrie comes right the fuck out, like, she, like, grabs his face and is like, Hey! And he's like, what?

francene:

And she's like, I hate it when you smoke that cigar and he immediately throws it out.

coryne (2):

Yeah, he's like, sorry, Jesus.

francene:

But I'm like, I was also talking out loud to myself and Aaron wasn't answering me, but I was like, I feel like I would just say it. Yeah. But I would make a joke. I'd be like, could you be any more obvious right now? Like, I know she's hot, but like, seriously.

coryne (2):

Well, I think that's Carrie's problem in most of the time. Yeah. She never just says it. It's like, she overthinks it too much. And if you would have just like made mention of it the first time you noticed it, I feel like Big would have corrected because he is really great about like, I mean, here he has been this season. He's really great about, you know, like if she needs something or has a boyfriend, he says it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know, but

francene:

then he also like in this scene, like he immediately throws a cigar away,

coryne (2):

right? But

francene:

anyway,

coryne (2):

thank you big.

francene:

Yeah. Yeah. Thanks. He's like, okay, I'm not going to do and she's like, damn it. And then we cut to the interviews again. I hate that they continue to do this. It is the worst. And then this person's like, my girlfriend at the time was like, change your job, change your attitude, change what you're wearing. And he was like, the only thing I change is my girlfriend.

coryne (2):

I love the old lady at the end with the husband in the background spinning plates on like sticks. And she just like looks back at him and looks at the camera. And she's like, Nope.

francene:

It is funny. I mean, I will say. Yeah. I laugh at the interviews, but it's just, I can't,

coryne (2):

they need to talk. Yeah, I'm glad that it's, it's like Phasing out. Yeah, it's fading out. They're not nearly as annoying as they were in each episode. Like every episode. Yeah.

francene:

So now Charlotte's coming back from dinner with Mike and he's like, can I come up? And, and she's like, I mean, I, like, I have to get up early tomorrow. And he's like Don't worry. I get it. Cause she obviously doesn't want to see his like penis. And she also

coryne (2):

doesn't think he like goes to kiss her and she like gives him her cheek. Why did you go to dinner with him? First of all. No, I was

francene:

thinking that too. I was like, why are you like, continuing to date him? And he's like, I totally get it. It makes me feel also like uncomfortable. And he's like, yeah. Which also I was like. Again, it made me like question like, gosh, that's so crazy. This is like a thing. That he was like, I'm gonna, I'm gonna get circumcised. Then I turned to Aaron. I was like, I know he's probably not the best person to ask this question. But I was like, like, would you do something like that? Like at this age? Like, that must be sore.

coryne (2):

Painful. Yeah.

francene:

Like that is a commitment.

coryne (2):

Yeah, I Yeah, I mean, I just don't know what you don't know. But I imagine that's got to be pretty Traumatic. And the guy does say, like, he's like, she's like, can you even do that? He's like, yeah, I mean, it's going to be painful, but like, you know, it'll be worth it or whatever. And of course, Charlotte, like, she's just like,

francene:

Oh my God, I'm immediately in love. We

coryne (2):

are getting

francene:

to this.

coryne (2):

I know. Yeah. She's like obsessed.

francene:

Yeah. I don't, I don't know. That's a big change.

coryne (2):

Bill doesn't let him come upstairs that night though.

francene:

She's like, well, one, one says once the skin is gone. So then the next morning, Miranda and Steve Oh, Steve is her, her wake up call. So the alarm goes off, she jumps out of bed. And he's like, wait, wait, wait, where are you rushing off to? And she's like, well, it's Saturday. Which to be fair, I also don't like lounging in bed, so I would also be like up and like, okay, what are we doing today? But he's like, no, no, no, let's like snuggle. And immediately she's like, well, how long are we going to do this? She's like, I need, I need like an end period.

coryne (2):

Like I'm a lawyer. I need structure. I need to know. And then she's like, it's Saturday. It's my day of rest. I have to go do this and this and this and this and this. And it's like Pilates,

francene:

like food shop. I'm like, honestly, all the things that I would hate.

coryne:

He's like, that doesn't sound very restful

francene:

and she's like, well, do you want to come with me? And he's like, no. And she's like, I didn't think so. But then get them around as she gets back in bed

coryne (2):

and

francene:

they stay all day.

coryne (2):

Oh God. And then there's, they're out to dinner that night. The girls and I love and she looks, Miranda actually looks really nice, like she was really put together at this dinner. Like she had the, I love when she wears like a scarf or like a chunky neck.'cause her neck is so long like it, it looks good on her. She can pull it off. She had like a red scarf. She looked good and she didn't have brush her hair.

francene:

There was like a lot of like color though. It was like a red scarf, orange top and blue cardigan.

coryne (2):

I thought it looked good, though. I thought she was pulling it off. Like, she did look good. I was like, there's

francene:

just a lot of, like, color contrast. Yeah,

coryne (2):

there's a lot going on. But she's saying, she's like, I didn't get anything done. She's like, I've been spinning. Like, I didn't get anything. I'm like, oh my gosh, she really put in the effort for old Steve today.

francene:

I know. I, I feel like I'd be the same. I feel like I'd feel like it was not a waste of a day, but just like, I don't know. I'm like lounging. I don't know.

coryne (2):

Totally lounging in bed all day. Not often, but like that, it depends on the weather too. If it's like really nice out, no, but if it's like a stormy day, oh my God. Oh, same. Love it.

francene:

But this is when I honestly think like this is one of the moments that I know they continue that I'm like, shit, am I Miranda? Like, you know, you're like, damn it. In reality, it's like Miranda and Charlotte. So yeah, so they're bingo. Yeah. And it's drag queen. It looks so fun. Yeah. And then so yeah, Miranda's like talking about that and Carrie's like, well, at least he's staying over. And now we hear like the other thing about big like he's never stayed over over her apartment.

coryne:

Yeah.

francene:

I'm surprised at I

coryne:

mean, he has a way nicer apartment. So

francene:

there I'd be interested in like how far he is from her though.

coryne (2):

And the other thing too is like he has like a real job and carry like writes a column so I could also see where like he has more of a schedule to keep, you know, where it's like I need to like, wake up in my space at this time and like have my things to have all my

francene:

stuff. Yeah,

coryne (2):

you can wake up here and like, You don't really, you're fine. Yeah. Like you have less of a structured schedule. I don't, I mean, I, yeah, I, that, that part, like I, it, it makes sense to me logically. So I'm not like super worried about it if I was Carrie, but I mean, you know, Carrie's obviously like piecing together some things that she. Yeah.

francene:

I think this is like her insecurities coming out a little bit. So then she's kind of like, why is it the, the woman needs to change? And then I can't remember who is, maybe it's probably Charlotte. She's like, well, we're more adaptable. And then Charlotte was like, like, she said it, if you really believe in it, you should try. I'm like, I do appreciate that. Cause again, it's another piece on like, okay, is it really that big a deal?

coryne (2):

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

francene:

And then

coryne (2):

like, why did nobody say like, why don't you just say that to him?

francene:

Yeah. Just ask him. Just be like, Hey, come over. Like,

coryne (2):

why don't you spend the night at my, like, just ask, like, just, yeah.

francene:

And then I think Charlotte says all that because she's like, ladies, I need to tell you, he's getting circumcised. And the girls are like, which I would be too. I'm surprised the conversation didn't run on more. But then I think they were interrupted by. A drag queen that came over.

coryne (2):

A beautiful drag queen comes over, recognizes Samantha. Turns out it's a guy she dated way back when. Brad, a semi

francene:

professional hockey player.

coryne (2):

Yes, and then, and now he's a drag queen. And Samantha's even like, she can see she's like, mortified.

francene:

Yeah,

coryne (2):

I guess that like a person she dated is now a crossdresser. I don't really

francene:

Well, I think it was more when she's like, oh like when like when did this change and he was like Oh like right after you and then it ties back to the conversation. I'm like, well, maybe you can change a man But then someone shouts out, like, Samantha.

coryne (2):

Yeah, and she's like, so her, the dragon's name is Samantha. So he's obviously, and then as soon as they say his name, it's like, did I see how he's emulating her? Like he looks similar. Yeah. So hilarious. Like she's mortified. Just absolutely like.

francene:

But then he's like, imitation is the form of flattery, flattery, flattery. Oh,

coryne (2):

did we find another word you can't

francene:

say? I know!

coryne (2):

Flattery.

francene:

Flattery. Flatter. Flattery?

coryne (2):

Flattery.

francene:

Flattery.

coryne (2):

That's close. That's close. Okay.

francene:

And then, you know, the one thing that I did pick out during this scene is when the girls are talking about like big Charlotte's guy, Samantha was like, come on. I can't remember the number. It was like 67 or whatever.

coryne (2):

Yeah. She's trying to get her bingo number.

francene:

Yes. And then at the end of that scene, when she, you know, speaks to the drag queen, Brad, her number comes up and she doesn't give a shit.

coryne (2):

Yeah, because she's just like she's yeah, she's completely like what with the hockey player drag

francene:

queen. So then it comes to Harry is. 30 minutes waiting for big in the lobby of his apartment, which by the way, the lobby looks like a hotel. It is very nice.

coryne (2):

Yeah, I mean, yes, which we would expect from Mr. Big, you know, and she's like pacing around. He's got a doorman. She's like, she can't go up. Like, she's like, literally stuck there until big's there and he's half an hour late.

francene:

In a suit, again, on a Saturday night, I'm like, where was he

coryne (2):

from work?

francene:

What was he up to? I just want to know, like, all of it

coryne (2):

deals, Francie.

francene:

He must. I know. Geez. She's like, I think this is when she says, like, well, if you stayed at mine every so often, like I wouldn't have this issue. Or if you gave me a key.

coryne (2):

Yeah, she was no, she says, she's like, I don't like waiting around. She's like, you're, you're like

francene:

a hooker.

coryne (2):

Yeah. Your doorman thinks I'm a prostitute. And he's like, well, did you make any money? Of course, in true big fashion, like making light of it. And she's, she says something about, yeah, if you would come to my house, he's like, there's a coffee shop around the corner, you could have waited there. And she's like, or you could give me a key and I could wait upstairs. And he like brushes it off. Yeah. He's like, you're not getting a key.

coryne:

Oh, you know what he says? She's obviously, he's like, don't be pissed. And she's like, I'm pissed. Yes. But then she's like, I'm

francene:

just going to go home and I'm like, you just wait 30 minutes for this.

coryne (2):

He's like, come upstairs. And so she does. And then like there that she says, like they get into bed together and it cuts to the scene and she's like, it's the first night ever that neither one of them wanted to have sex.

francene:

Yeah. Which of course, as we know, carries. fully spiraling at this point. Big is pleasantly asleep. He's had a long day. He's been busy and she's like, Oh my God, he's checking out women. I don't have a key. Can't get into his apartment. He was late and now we're not having sex.

coryne (2):

Yeah, for sure. Yeah, that's so, I mean, I mean that, you know, Carrie's definitely, she's gotten some elements that I can, I, I, I see the spiral coming.

francene:

Yeah, so then during the night, he obviously forgets she is in bed and he rolls over and she like, falls out of bed. And when she gets up,

coryne (2):

she punches, she like, like, he's fully like bumps her out of bed. You know what I mean? It's not like a slow thing. It's like the way he roll. And I mean, she, I mean, she's so little,

francene:

it just

coryne (2):

like flings her out of bed and he's like, he hears her thud. And so he's like, yeah, he's like,

francene:

Oh my God, are you okay?

coryne (2):

And she fully just like, boom, like punches him straight in the face.

francene:

I love that. He's like, what the fuck? Like he's so fucking mad and she's like, immediately, you know, the underlining when she's like, you knocked me out of bed. You didn't even know I was here.

coryne (2):

Yeah. Yeah. And he's like, he's like, well, I do now. Yeah. I'm aware. I am fully aware. So like, she's, she's, she's trying to apologize. He's busy. He's like, I'm sleeping on the couch. And she's like, I'm going home. He's like, Nope. Nope. I'm sleeping on the couch. Now it's your bed. You take this, you can have the whole thing to yourself. And so then, you know, she's obviously not sleeping. And she says at 4 a. m. She decides to go give him ice to like put on his face. And he's like, his nose is bleeding. He's like, Oh, it looks bad. I mean, she's full on. Smacked him and she wakes him up again, which to Biggs credit, like I know plenty of people, me included, who would be full on grumpy by that point. Like that's not the time to try to have a conversation.

francene:

You know what though? I feel this is something I would do. How do we do

coryne (2):

this?

francene:

I'd be like, wait, we need to talk. I'm awake. You should be

coryne (2):

awake right now,

francene:

but she, yeah, you're right. Big deals with it very well. Cause she's like, I feel like I'm back in your life and nothing has changed. But what I wrote, I was like, but weirdly, the last couple of episodes has been, I know, especially the last one. So I found that to be a like, Jesus, like what I don't understand, like truly what you're looking for. But then she's like, I'm sure there are things you don't like about me. And again, what I mentioned about Aaron earlier, he's like, Oh no, no, no, no, I'm not falling for that.

coryne (2):

Not doing that. He's like, yep, good try, good try. But I did

francene:

ask, this is like the one moment that Aaron did partake in a conversation with me. And I was like, hey, what, like, what do you think about this situation? He was like, she is painfully annoying and self centered. And I said, why? Why do you think that? He was like, because everything revolves around her. I was like, oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah. There's like

coryne (2):

a whole show that revolves around her, Erin. Okay. Yeah, I know. I'm like,

francene:

we are here. But anyway, I, I do, I do understand.

coryne (2):

Well, she did. I do appreciate that even though it took her punching him in the face, she then does the right thing. Version of communicating. She's like, this is upsetting me, and this is upsetting me, and this is upsetting me. And Big is not in a super receptive place, but he hears her, and is basically like, you know, And she's like, I'm gonna go. And he's like, okay. And so, like, you communicated it. Good job. Like his fate, you literally, and the other thing too, is like, that's tough to give somebody like an injury like that when they are, you know, in a position like he is from a work standpoint, like you can't go, you're just going to go to work like that? Like bust it up? I thought that

francene:

too. I

coryne (2):

honestly

francene:

thought that too. I was like,

coryne (2):

Yeah.

francene:

Yeah, I truly can't imagine, especially back then when, like, we were still, 1999 at this point, right? Like we're not even two thousands. He was going into the office.

coryne (2):

Oh yeah. And there's no remote. No, no. A remote didn't even, wasn't even, that's what I mean. I

francene:

can't, I can't imagine it was Zoom and not even, there

coryne (2):

was

francene:

barely

coryne (2):

internet.

francene:

I don't think I've ever seen anyone in the office with like a black eye.

coryne (2):

I know. I know. So like that is a whole thing to consider from big standpoint of it too. So anyway. What happens next, because I want to talk about the next scene between the two of them, but I know they cut to, do they cut to Charlotte next?

francene:

Then it's the next night, she's out for dinner with him. Charlotte is?

coryne (2):

It's gotta be. And she's out to dinner with the guy, and he's had the surgery. Oh, that's

francene:

right. Yes, yes, yes. Yeah, she's out for dinner with him and He, I can't believe he's already

coryne (2):

out to dinner and that it, cause he

francene:

got it done that day. I was thinking that too. I was like, I'm sorry, like, I hate to make a generalized comment, but I'm like, I feel like if that was any other male, this would be like two weeks. It couldn't do anything. Like we all heard of man flu, like Jesus Christ. There's no way he just got circumcised and is going out for dinner and he's also wearing a fucking suit.

coryne (2):

Yeah. He

francene:

looks so tight in that suit.

coryne (2):

Here's how I know that's bullshit. Okay. I know many, I know plenty of men who've had a vasectomy and it takes them out for like four days. And that's like, like I had a baby cut out of my abdomen. Okay, I never even took a pain pill because I didn't realize that's what they were offering me. I'm not kidding. There's no way that dude was out to dinner the same night. No way. I did

francene:

think that too. So then when they're saying goodbye, she's like, Fully turned on. She's like I just want you to be able to come up and he's like, same thing. Clearly, clearly he's being a semi and he's like

coryne:

a couple of weeks. And she's like,

francene:

I can't wait. And he's like, same, but knowing he's obviously getting a little bit hard. He's like, how do you have to go?

coryne (2):

Go now go

francene:

now. I'm like, That's commitment from from him. So then we cut to Miranda. So now I take back all my comments. She stays up until 2 a. m. and she looks sexy. She's wearing

coryne:

E for effort.

francene:

All the

coryne:

Drinking coffee.

francene:

Oh, yeah. She's downing the coffee. The candles are on. I'm like, she is on.

coryne (2):

That's not how you date somebody who doesn't come over until 2am. What you do, honey, is you take a nap. It's called a disco nap from about 8pm to midnight. And then you get up and you get yourself dressed and you have some coffee and then you're good to go. Okay. That's what I would do. Yes. Cause like, I, I, cause if you're staying up that late and then he's coming over and then you're doing it, you're not falling asleep till three, three 30 and you got to get up at seven. No. I know. I don't sleep from the moment I walked through the door when I get off work until like an hour before he gets there.

francene:

I know. I think I would be the same. Like, especially imagine being a lawyer. Yes. You fully have to be on. Like, I know we swim with this before, like on the pod, but like anything less than like Even seven hours. I'm like, I struggle the next day. Like, I feel like you can see it, like, even just in my eyes and stuff. I

coryne (2):

know. Like, yeah.

francene:

She's probably radiant from, like, all the sex, though. Like, you know, like, the, the sex glow?

coryne (2):

Yeah, yeah. Well, I know, too, that there are, like, chemicals in your body when you're in a brand new relationship that make you able to get way less sleep. Like, I remember that. You're like, I don't

francene:

need sleep.

coryne (2):

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. She's, she's running on full sex chemistry.

francene:

So she is ready. Steve comes in. And then immediately they're all over each other and she's like, go into the bedroom. I'm going to get the wine. And then I love the contrast into how she reacts versus how Steve did when she goes into the room, he's asleep and she like kicks him and it's like, okay, get up. We're done. There's like no, no understanding, no like, Oh, look at Steve, like he's had a hard night. He's tired. She's just like, no, fuck this. Fuck

coryne (2):

you. Get out. Yeah. But she, does she, does she doesn't actually make him leave? Does she? Yes. He leaves. Oh my God.

francene:

And I literally wrote, I was like, man, they fully missed it. And I was like, why? Like I understand being like, Hey, come on. Like I've stayed up late.

coryne (2):

I made the effort.

francene:

But then he was like, I'm up. And like, to be fair to him, he was like, oh, sorry, I'm awake. And she's like, no, the moment's gone. The window's over. I'm over it. And I was like, you have just wasted your evening. You wasted his time. I can't imagine he lives close. And now he's leaving.

coryne (2):

Yeah. Way to throw a fit, Miranda. Well done. Yeah.

francene:

And then I think there was like a voiceover, which she's like, and then she, you know, Obviously didn't feel good about herself. I'm like, nor should you.

coryne (2):

Yeah, it was shitty. I mean, you, it was, I feel like she just overreacted.

francene:

A hundred percent.

coryne (2):

Yeah. Back from that. It's okay.

francene:

Right. Yeah. So then we cut to Charlotte. So it is officially a week later and they're in bed together. She looks at it and she's like, wow, it's perfect. I just hope so. If you're having surgery.

coryne (2):

Yeah, no.

francene:

And then he's like, you know, this makes me a virgin. And she's like, I'll be gentle. I love, I feel like that's also something I would say, like sexy. Then

coryne (2):

they immediately cut to they're laying together after like should be happier. And she's like, he's, and he's being snuggly. And she's like,

coryne:

what are you going to do this weekend? And he's like this weekend. Did we have plans? And she's

coryne (2):

like, no, but I was thinking we could go to this benefit or we could go to this and that, and he's like, listen.

francene:

Yeah, he's like, I can't be tied down. There's a whole new me. I need to share that.

coryne (2):

Yeah, he's like, I gotta take this thing out. I gotta see what I can get done with that. Like, oh my god. Like, I would, like, I feel for Charlotte in that moment because like, are you fucking kidding me, guy? Like, it just

francene:

happened. Yeah, dude. Yeah, I wonder I guess like we will, we'll never know unless we've specifically asked him and it was true, but like, I wonder how much of a difference feels for a guy? Oh. Or even, you know, like for a girl, they say, I dunno.

coryne (2):

They, you know, the, the proverbial they, of course, yes. I, they, they say that it's much more sensitive when you're not circumcised.

francene:

I, I also read that too. I did, yeah. I was also curious, I'm not gonna lie, now that I would know, I would love to be a male for a day. Would you not?

coryne (2):

One day. Well, and there's like, you could only ask a guy who had not been circumcised at birth and then was later in life, because they're the only ones who would be able to tell you that. That's what

francene:

I mean. That's what I'd be truly, because if you ask any guy, they're only going to know what like they have.

coryne (2):

Yeah, that would be very, very interesting. I'm sure, is there, has there been a study done? Can we Google it? I'm personally going to find out. I will find out.

francene:

But then, even does it make a difference for a girl?

coryne (2):

I don't know. Does it? I don't think. It can't feel different. I can't imagine it feels. No. I'm going to say no. Yeah. I don't think so. I don't know. I don't either. I think it's like aesthetics only. Well, that's

francene:

what I was. Yeah. That's what I was thinking too.

coryne (2):

Yeah. Great.

francene:

Anyway so a few days later, Big hadn't called Carrie.

coryne (2):

Four days, four days later, and to Carrie's credit, the fact that she had not broke, I would have been freaked out. Yeah,

francene:

same. I also, I feel like I would have just showed up at his work. Right. Or his house. Yeah, same.

coryne:

Yeah.

francene:

I would have been at the lobby. Yes.

coryne (2):

Every night. I got a prostitute. What? Yeah, I know.

francene:

She definitely has a restraint. I personally don't think I could have. I would have

coryne (2):

broken and called and been like, what the fuck? But like, I love that. She's like listless, like just, you know, in that place, we all know ladies where she's just like in her chair, like willing the phone to ring and knock, knock, knock at her door. Yeah. And I'm like, I do love that about you, Big. I do love that you don't call you just like, I'm going to face to face this thing, you know? I know.

francene:

I actually, he's so adult. He's such a grown up. He is such a grown up. Yeah. I appreciate that. So then he shows up at her apartment, which I also appreciate, but when she opens the door. His Black eye.

coryne (2):

Holy shit. It's like halfway done. It's really bad. It's bad. That was the moment. Yeah. No, it was, it was when I saw him like that, that I was like, he had to go to work like that. Like, that's crazy.

francene:

Yeah. I wish he had probed more of that, but obviously it wasn't about that. And he's like, immediately look, the thing is, if I give you a key or when I've given people keys, I never get them back. He's like, I've given out five keys.

coryne (2):

And he's like, and you never get them back.

francene:

And then he's like, I hog the bed, but it is my bed, but I like you in it. And I love that he says this. And then he's like, but the oranges have to go. They're sticky.

coryne (2):

He's like, that's the thing I don't like about you. Like, I love it. Yeah, he's thought this through. He's obviously thought it through.

francene:

But again, he does it so well. And then she's like, immediately flurry back into, then what do I get for the oranges? And then he's like, well, we're going to have to like negotiate. And he's like, well, I guess I'll be spending the night. And I appreciate that, too. Like, I feel like he had that planned. Like, that was part of his compromise. I feel

coryne (2):

like he had, like, worked it through in his head. That's why he was

francene:

in casual clothes. Did you notice that? He wasn't wearing his suit.

coryne (2):

Like, he thought it

francene:

through.

coryne (2):

He's like, I don't know,

francene:

where's the comforter? He's like, damn it, I'm going to have to stay home. I'm going to stay. I'm going to stink of oranges. The sea of oranges,

coryne (2):

but like, it was, it was the perfect, like sweet gesture. Like again, all green flags. Good job. Big. Like, that's exactly how you come back from that. Like I was, you know, yes, that's exactly what you should have done for sure. Maybe, maybe don't take four days, maybe take two days, but,

francene:

but I immediately was being like, I don't know. I'm so like out there with stuff. I'd be like, why didn't you call me? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Where have you been? So then it cuts to the last scene, which is across town at 2 a. m. Miranda is obviously awake. Because now I feel like she's in that schedule. She's like, okay, I'm ready.

coryne (2):

She obviously is like willing him to call to like, she obviously is feeling very bad about her behavior as she should. I think so too. And her phone rings.

francene:

Oh, and I love that it's Steve and he's like, go to the window and she looks up.

coryne (2):

I don't want to bother you. But I'm going to

francene:

call you at 2am.

coryne (2):

Yeah. He's like, did I wake you? And she's like, no, I was awake. He's like, I don't want to bother you, but go to the window. And she does. And then this gorgeous, gorgeous moon. It was beautiful. It was beautiful. And he's like, I just, I just wanted you to see it, which is like so thoughtful. I know. I

francene:

love that. It's like that to me, like anything to do with like stars, the moon, Anything like that. I don't know. I'd be like, Oh my God, I'm just going to come to you. Don't even you come over. I'm just going to

coryne (2):

listen. I mean, it worked. Cause she was like, come over when you're done.

francene:

She says it's so cool. And then they're like that night they made love in the evening and in the morning

coryne (2):

compromise. And she was

francene:

an hour late for work. You can't change a man. But once in a blue moon, you can change a woman.

coryne (2):

Oh, I love it. That was a great ending to that one for sure. It was. Yeah.

francene:

Especially with Miranda.

coryne (2):

Yeah. Knowing she's the

francene:

most stubborn.

coryne (2):

Yes. And I love, I mean, I love Steve and Miranda's relationship so in so much. So it's like these cute moments in the beginning between them that are just, they're priceless. They're so good.

francene:

Yeah, I agree. So the next episode is episode 10, the cast system. Is that right? I

coryne (2):

remember this one.

francene:

What does that mean?

coryne (2):

It's like A cast system where it's like different, like, you know, upper class, middle class, lower class.

francene:

Oh!

coryne (2):

Yeah. You'll remember it, like, as soon as it starts, you're gonna remember it. I remember one particular thing. Wait, I did start watching

francene:

it. They're

coryne (2):

getting a pedicure.

francene:

Oh, yes. Oh my God. I just, okay. So I got maybe a quarter of the way through that episode. I never would tune you together, but yes, that does make sense. That does make sense now. And also before we go, as soon as we were talking about like Carrie smelling of oranges, I know I said this the other week, but you know, the Sarah Jessica Parker website, you know, her perfumes are like 70. They're down to 10.

coryne:

Okay. 10. Did they reload the website? Because last time I tried to go on there, it was like, you couldn't get in it.

francene:

Okay. So go into it now. There's no shoes left. Everything is gone. Oh, it is.

coryne:

Frequencies.

francene:

And honestly, I don't know about you. I obviously thought I was a fan about Sarah Jessica Barger. I've never smelt her fragrances. I never have either. Okay, so I bought them. That was like 10. Geez Louise, I'll take it.

coryne (2):

Okay, please tell me if you get one and it smells like oranges. Okay, I need to know.

francene:

I know I actually read some of their descriptions. But yeah, and the other thing they do have, which If only we made commission, but now there's probably gonna be nothing left. But you know, if you look in the accessories, so they still have the candle, which is 15. They also have shoe clips. Yeah, I was just looking at that. Yeah. So they had more selections the other day. So I bought some and I was thinking for like Luna. I mean, I'll use them too. But even just like on her little hats. Yes. Yeah. Especially for 10.

coryne (2):

For sure.

francene:

I'll take it.

coryne (2):

I love it. That's awesome.

francene:

Yeah. So take advantage before everything is fully gone.

coryne (2):

Yes. And I'm so sad. Again, still so sad it's going away, but at least take advantage.

francene:

I know my, my shoes arrived tomorrow. The two pairs I got.

coryne (2):

Oh, I can't wait. Well, on the next pod. Oh my God. You'll see them on Friday. Yay. Oh yeah. And that's right. We said this pod was going to be in person, but we wanted to give you guys an extra one this week. So the next one will be in person and we'll talk SJP shoes in person.

francene:

Yeah.

coryne (2):

We're only ever thinking

francene:

of you. We'll have some

coryne (2):

video clips we can post.

francene:

Yes. Okay.

coryne (2):

Alright guys. Tell the next pod.
