Join coryne & francene as they break down each episode!  This week the girls worry about long-term change. Miranda hears from her gynecologist that one of her ovaries is 'lazy', and worries therefore is she can still take her time being picky with men before going for motherhood. Charlotte hits on well with charming pastry chef Stephan, but consults the girls and guy friend Stanford if he is gay, or at least 'half'. Carrie worries if Big is serious about them since he seems too 'territorial' to allow any of her stuff permanently in his apartment. When Samantha sees publisher Dominic, the one man who broke her heart for a model, she decides to turn tables on him, but can she really dump him 'like a man' after great sex?

francene:

How's it going?

coryne:

Pretty good. How are you? I'm

francene:

good. I feel better than I did yesterday. Your headache went away? Oh yeah, I felt like absolute trash.

coryne:

it's the worst. Like you know

francene:

when you're like hungover and like a little bit emotional. Like it was just a hard day all around.

coryne:

Yeah, that sucks. I don't get headaches like that, thankfully, but I've had like the busiest freaking work week ever. Yesterday was like, yesterday started at 7 a. m. and it literally had been nonstop. And it was like, and then I was going to do the podcast on top of that.

francene:

Yeah. I'm glad it was like a mutual thing. So I felt bad and I was like, I just Like I mentally can't I was like, I feel like I'm not gonna be fun.

coryne:

It worked out perfectly because I yeah I just I my last meeting was at 7 p. m And ended at 7 like came home. Oh my gosh crossing the bed was good And I was like, oh my god, I was gonna be scattered too. So it worked out.

francene:

Yay And it's thanksgiving next week

coryne:

I know. What are y'all doing this year?

francene:

So we are going, well, we've got usher. Well, I mean, Aaron's not coming, but we've got usher on Wednesday and then Thursday we're going down to Galveston to stay at moody gardens for the, what do you call it?

coryne:

The lights? Yes. Oh yeah. They do.

francene:

Yeah. And we're doing the what's the polar express? Oh, fun. Yeah, I'm excited. It is very expensive though, for like a day.

coryne:

I know. Moody Gardens is pricey. I've done that a few times. Yeah. When with the, the older kids and then with Crosson, when she was little, I'm like, oh my God, that, that's, so that's a thousand dollars day real fast. Literally.

francene:

Yeah. When I was booking it, I was like, Ooh. Like didn't make me feel good, but but I know like, it's not every year. We're going to do it. Yeah. What are you guys doing?

coryne:

We so Katie's coming in tomorrow and we're going to go do zoo lights with Crossin.

francene:

Oh, I love zoo lights.

coryne:

There's a new baby elephant that was born this week and you Crossin is like with elephants and Katie hasn't, she hasn't come down and spent the night in like. I should have made that earlier. So I'm excited to have her cross and always loves when she's here. So we'll do that. Tomorrow, which is like the kickoff to the weekend. And then crossings doing something with my mom for a couple of days. And then on the day we're doing just like, you know, family Thanksgiving, yeah. And then I'm going to put all my decorations up on Friday. because I'm that person. I wait till the day after Thanksgiving. We used to do that used to be considered early doing it the day after Thanksgiving. So, and then I don't, we don't have anything just like hopefully for like kind of a low key weekend.

francene:

I know. I'm kind of hoping the same, like Aaron's taking Luna to the lease this weekend. So like Saturday night, I'm like, Oh my God. So I'm going out for dinner with a girlfriend. I'm like, we're going to have drinks. I'm going to Uber. And then I'm going to wake up on Sunday and be like,

coryne:

I'm by myself. No one's here. Sleeping. I know that's nice for sure. Yeah. I think I'm gonna get a couple of those days in this weekend as well. So yeah, that'll kind of be, that's always nice. That's a nice. Isn't

francene:

it crazy? Like the things you like look forward to?

coryne:

I know. When you're, when you're this age, it's like, that's the things you get excited about. Just want to

francene:

wake up and be on my own.

coryne:

Yeah, I've been, I've been trying really hard to get everything on my to do list done this week so that next week I can just do the bare minimum work that I have to, and then like actually try to just have a few days that I don't do shit. That would be great.

francene:

I'm the same.

coryne:

Yeah, for sure. I'm the

francene:

same. I will admit, when I got home from Mariah Carey on Tuesday, because it was early. I mean, I got home like at 11 or something. So it wasn't like a late night. But Aaron was sleeping and I was like, well, I wasn't tired because obviously I was, you know, busy.

coryne:

I was like,

francene:

right, I'm immediately gonna watch Sex and City this episode. But I obviously watched it. And I never wrote any notes. And, and then today I was like, did I watch it? And I was like, no, I did. I can watch. I did

coryne:

No, I've loved this episode. This was a really good one. And, and I had totally, I, I can't remember, I like forgot about most of this episode before I watched it. So it was like watching one that I hadn't seen before, which was fun.

francene:

Yes. No, I was the same. So it's season two, episode 11, evolution.

coryne:

Yes. That's the one.

francene:

And that, that is the one.

coryne:

That's the one. I

francene:

made it. And then this is the one that it starts off with Miranda being at her gynecologist.

coryne:

Yes. And this, it was so funny, that opening scene and like the conversation that they have. And I was like, Oh, this is like weird to watch this considering what's going on in the country right now when it comes to like health care. Oh yeah. Birth control and all that stuff. And I was like, it's kind of a wild thing to see what it was like. And I guess, so, so the audience says what we're talking about, Miranda's in her gynecologist doing like her annual and the gyno asks her if she needs to re up her birth control. And Miranda says she doesn't. And she's like, Oh, are you trying to get pregnant? And then Miranda has to do the awkward thing of basically explaining that, you That she is no longer in the relationship she got on the birth control for and that was so interesting to me because like I never wasn't on birth control like when I was single, like I was just on birth control. I was never like situationally on birth control. Oh yeah,

francene:

like going on it like just for like a relationship. Oh,

coryne:

now I'm in a relationship. I'm going to get on it. No, no. Yeah, it was the

francene:

same. Yeah, up until like Luna. Yeah, I was constantly on like birth control and yeah similar I was like, I kind of did it more for me and other like it was less about that piece

coryne:

Pregnant. I just was like never maybe I was like never know when you're gonna have sex with me Someone like I was just like never gonna run the

francene:

risk of it. Miranda is very situational. Yeah, she

coryne:

obviously is like, you know she obviously was like, I don't know, that or practicing, you know, safe sex with condoms when she was, I don't know.

francene:

Then though, like just knowing what it does to your body, like, you know, I mean, like with the hormones and like, it's always a transition, like going onto the pill or coming Like off the pill. I don't know. Like when I commit it, I'm like, Oh, I'm committing to this.

coryne:

Right. We will not

francene:

deviate.

coryne:

I never took the pill. I mean, like a couple of times really like short lived. I either did the shots. It was like when I was young, like I did that depo shot. It's like, you take this shot and you're, it's like, what is it? Three months or something?

francene:

Oh yeah. I am

coryne:

like one go. And then I got an IUD when I was like 25. Four years old, and I've had that ever since. And that's a freaking five to seven year commitment.

francene:

Oh, that's right. You know what's weird? When I was watching this, it made me just think how different it is. Like US and like the UK, cause like we don't have gynecologists. So I remember watching this episode when I was younger, like anytime they would go to like the gynecologist, we just have a doctor, like we just have a general doctor that you go to. You know what I mean? It's not like a specialist for like your elbow or this. It's like you just go to the doctor. Do you have,

coryne:

do you do like an annual, you know, checkup? Yes, but it's

francene:

through like, I don't even think it's a doctor. I think, yeah, I think it's a nurse that does it. So I found that piece to be interesting. I'm sure it's progressed more. I've been here for like 10 years. But then the other pieces, I didn't know anyone else that was on different types of birth control outside of the pill or like the coil. And I was, and then I was thinking to myself. Yeah.

coryne:

I've never heard of that before.

francene:

Oh, I'm probably going to describe it really badly. It's basically, I can't remember what it is, but it like sits, it's like a per, not permanent, it's like semi permanent, but it, it's kind of like a diaphragm, but it's more permanent.

coryne:

Really? Like

francene:

you can't just take it out. Like you have to have it like surgically removed.

coryne:

Is it like an IUD where it's like inside of your uterus? Yeah.

francene:

Yeah. Interesting. I wonder if for me, is it the same thing? It

coryne:

might be. I wonder if it's not the same thing. Cause like the, I mean, mine doesn't have to be surgically removed. They can do it like in the doctor's office, but it has to be like taken out by a professional.

francene:

Watch me Google this. Anything. Oh, yeah. It's an IUD. Why? Oh, okay. Okay. Oh, yeah. That's weird.

coryne:

Yeah, that's an IUD. Yeah, which I have. Oh, it's made

francene:

of copper. That's why. Oh, that's

coryne:

the old school ones. Oh, see,

francene:

the UK. Yeah. We have like actual copper.

coryne:

Yeah, those, those are like they that was where IUDs started in the US. But that's been like decades ago that that was what was done here. That's wild. That's funny. Yeah, I never have had that version of it. I've had like the low hormone, slow release plastic ones, but anyway.

francene:

Yeah,

coryne:

that's great.

francene:

Anyway, it's just, it's interesting, like just how like different things are, but yeah, I wouldn't how much

coryne:

then I'm sure even from when they were recording that episode.

francene:

Right? Yeah. Yeah, I know. And then, okay, so Miranda's there, so she's at the appointment, and then this is when she finds out that her left ovary is lazy. Imagine being told, I just, what an interesting term a doctor would say, like, I know it's for a TV show, but I'm like, imagine your doctor's like, let me just put it into basic terms. It's

coryne:

lazy. It's lazy. It's challenged. You have a challenged ovary. Like it's not, so it's not producing eggs anymore, which is just like exacerbating her because she obviously is like still upset about the Steve relationship ending. Yeah. And now it's like, and you know, this is just like. Yeah. One

francene:

more thing.

coryne:

Yeah. One more layer that now I'm not gonna be able to get pregnant because I have a lazy ovary.

francene:

And it's interesting because then it cuts to, I think the girls at brunch and they're all talking about it. And she's like, I'm like academically like overachiever. She's like, that ovary

coryne:

went to Harvard.

francene:

Yeah, that's, that's it. And then Charlotte's like, well, mine's is like a tilted uterus. So this is to like jump over,

coryne:

like,

francene:

yeah, this is,

coryne:

this is not good. Yeah. Miranda says she's like, well, at least there's an egg there when they do the jumping. When they do the

francene:

jumping. It's like they just need to make that ad for the like, come on guys, let's do this.

coryne:

Get it. Come on. You gotta want it. But yeah, poor Miranda is like very upset and you can tell it's like, you know, she's carrying the weight of the Missing Steve and like that that relationship ended and now she's like had to tell her gyno she Doesn't even need to be on birth control anymore And now she's got a lazy ovary not that I ever thought miranda ever wanted to have a kid

francene:

I know that's what was interesting about like some of her and I I do agree I do think it's like the the element of the breakup with steve. This is like one more thing And like that Like, no one wants to know that that option is being kind of taken away a little bit. Yeah, I feel

coryne:

like, too, like, I know, you know, I know friends of mine who, like, were always majorly on the fence about if they wanted to have kids or not. And then it was like, something happened in life where it was no longer a choice. And then it was suddenly like, no, but I, but I do want to, it's like, do you,

francene:

like, I know. Yeah, I know.

coryne:

But yeah.

francene:

Because again, like, how old is Miranda at this point?

coryne:

They're in their mid 30s at this point, right?

francene:

Right.

coryne:

Yeah.

francene:

I guess, yeah. Yeah, I think so.

coryne:

Yeah. Well, and then the other thing that happens at brunch is that Carrie goes to pay for brunch for everyone, which. Oh, yeah. What?

francene:

I know. They obviously only did that because they wanted a little purse scene. Yes. Because we're like, Carrie's not paying for this. Let's be honest. Let's be honest. Yeah.

coryne:

And of course she's pulling out like random cash out of her purse. In the

francene:

world's biggest purse.

coryne:

Yeah. Huge bag. And what is it? Underwear? What comes out of the bag? A thong. Yeah. They're like, wait, are

francene:

you paying for lunch with this?

coryne:

That's how you're paying. And she's, and anyway, then it gets into a whole conversation about how she's basically schlepping her stuff back and forth to Mr. Biggs because as Samantha says, honey, you don't even have a drawer. Love the way she says it. Oh,

francene:

he

coryne:

gave

francene:

her

coryne:

a toothbrush. Yeah. The

francene:

little pink one, but that's, I'm sure at that point, that was the extent of it.

coryne:

Yeah, that's all he could offer. This is

francene:

all you can get. Yeah. That would suck though. I have to admit, I don't like carrying stuff around, especially when you think like here, we would just drive everywhere. So worst case, you put it in the car, like it's fine. Like in New York, like you fully have to carry that around.

coryne:

Yeah, that's so true. And I mean, at least Carrie doesn't have like a regular nine to five job where it's like, she's expected to be like up and dressed for her time of day. But yeah, I, I don't know. I, I can't, I don't know that I've ever been in a relationship long enough. Like I, I can't think of a relationship I was ever in where it was like, if we were that serious, we were freaking living together. Like, I never had to do that. Yeah, it's

francene:

like no fucking about with me. No Stray and so no, I I can't relate to any of this And honestly knowing my personality I would just bring stuff and like leave it

coryne:

Like

francene:

I would be ordering double on amazon. They'd be like, why are these boxes showing up? Like don't worry about it. It's fine

coryne:

I would have fully like set up shop with my own suitcase in the corner if like not offered like oh, no, it's cool I brought my own drawers

francene:

Honestly do the same I just don't Tomorrow,

coryne:

I think it'll go good here It's

francene:

just interesting some of the things that you know, Carrie's like, oh, you know But it's like his stuff and I don't wanna like she just doesn't want to push it.

coryne:

Yeah, she's very kind like that for sure She's definitely

francene:

So that I think it cuts to, I can't remember if like Charlotte then starts talking about him or it cuts to Charlotte's having like a kind of friend date. It's not a date, but it's with a friend. She's like going, yeah,

coryne:

she's just like hanging out with someone who she says is a gay guy.

francene:

Yes,

coryne:

yeah, and like he's a pastry chef and like she's like, you know sitting down so

francene:

well

coryne:

Yeah, and so they're having this like super fun evening together and for Charlotte. She's like, I think she looks great I

francene:

mean, I think so too,

coryne:

but she's dressed down for Charlotte, I guess and she's wearing your glasses and like they had dinner and they're laughing and they're talking and like the whole thing and And does she mention a brunch that she's going? No, it's just maybe, yeah,

francene:

maybe she doesn't, maybe just cuts to them. But as like, I love about this scene is it goes from her being like, I had such a nice time. And he's like, same. And his name's like Stefan. She's like, let me go get a cab, you know, it's getting late and he goes to hail the cab and he does it in such a flamboyant like manner. No cabs pull over and then Charlotte just goes and she doesn't even do it like in a girly way. She's just like, you know, have like a

coryne:

certain way. Yeah. Yeah.

francene:

And then when they're standing by. the car, he pulls in and kisses her.

coryne:

Yes. And like, yeah, like that, I, I remembered, I remember like totally, it was having like no memory of this episode. And then when that happened, I was like, Oh, I do remember this guy that like, is he gay? Is he not gay? And like, no, only just like, huh? Like, I wouldn't have had like,

francene:

just from seeing that snippet of like conversation that they had. None of that to me screamed like chemistry or fluorine like it seemed very like what's the word like platonic?

coryne:

Friendly. Yeah. Yeah.

francene:

Until.

coryne:

Yeah.

francene:

And it was a good, passionate kiss too. But I love Charlotte's expression of like when she gets in the car, she like looks up just so like,

coryne:

Oh no, she's just like

francene:

confused. What just happened

coryne:

here? Yeah. That's crazy.

francene:

I like love Charlotte so much. It like cracked me up.

coryne:

Yes. Yes. That's awesome. And then they cut to the bar scene. They're all out. The four girls having drinks this outfit on Carrie as again, one of my,

francene:

yes, I love this outfit. I know.

coryne:

I love when she wears like a crop and then like a higher waisted flowy skirt. I agree. Perfect figure for that. Like it just looks great on her, but they're talking, they start talking and Carrie's all excited to announce that she's left a bunch of things at Biggs. Like she's left like a hairdryer and like underwear. I can't even remember all the things. She

francene:

has like, she's like, ladies, look at my bag. Oh yeah. And isn't it a mini Fendi? Oh, I don't know. Is it offending? It's tiny. It's so cute too. And they're like, Oh, like that's really cute. And she's like, no, no, no, nothing in here.

coryne:

I have no extra things. That's awesome. And yes, she's so excited. And then she, and then she announces, she's like, and exciting news. I went number two at Mr. Big's house and Charlotte is mortified. Like what? You can't do that. You can't do that.

francene:

What are you doing? I'm so, like, old fashioned like Charlotte, too. I probably would have had the same reaction. Like, what do you mean? Why are you admitting this to us?

coryne:

We went, we went out of town a while ago with my my best friend and her fairly new boyfriend. They've only been dating like three or four months. And it was a full conversation that we had prior to us getting there. She's like, where am I going to go poop? Oh,

francene:

I so remember feeling that way at the start of a relationship. Oh, it was like months as well. Yeah,

coryne:

we stayed in like a, this really cool little like duplex, but it was like a two bedroom, one bath. And she's like, we're all sharing the same bathroom. And I was like, I'm sure there'll be like, you know, like a hotel lobby or like halfway through the trip. She's like, where's this fucking hotel lobby that you're talking about? I'm single.

francene:

Hotel lobby!

coryne:

It

francene:

is like, yeah, it is the worst. Or it's like you just strategically when you're showering.

coryne:

Yeah, yeah, you take the long shower. Take some full blast and the shower. Lock door. Extra shampoo. Oh my god. What else did we talk about over drinks? I can't remember. I remember Miranda brings up the lazy ovary again and she's taking hormones or something.

francene:

Oh, yeah, to kickstart her ovary, which Because again, why? If you're not trying to get pregnant. I know. I was thinking that too, but then I'm like, I guess, pre proactive. I know. I wondered that too, because I'm like, what would be the point? Yeah. Because you're, I, I don't know. And

coryne:

your other ovary is producing, so it's not like you have to worry about it from like a menopause. I don't know. I know, I kind

francene:

of figured that too. I'm like, why are you keep starting it? Like, are you expecting

coryne:

little

francene:

men

coryne:

to come in? I don't know. Because you eventually want to get pregnant. Do you want to get pregnant, Miranda? I'm very confused here. This is like

francene:

Yeah, I thought that too, because I, I don't know. I just, knowing doctors, I just can't imagine they'd be like, Oh, we must do this. Right. Well, again, I don't know. I'm obviously not a doctor.

coryne:

And then, Oh, I remember the other thing that happens there. They're at the bar. Somebody sends a drink over

francene:

Dominic,

coryne:

Dominic.

francene:

Oh,

coryne:

and

francene:

Samantha. It's like the only time you see her being like, I don't know. I can't think of the word.

coryne:

It's like love struck. Like, yes, she's completely out of her element. Like it has caught her. Like, yeah, she is. So Dominic is an ex that actually broke Samantha's heart. If that is something that is possible. Isn't

francene:

this fun? Like Charlotte looks all like confused. She's like the thought of like, Samantha's heart being broken.

coryne:

Yes. Yeah. Like she's very, very taken aback for sure. And yeah, so we, and the monologue basically tells us who Dominic is essentially. And she immediately goes over to him and like starts talking to him. I know. I

francene:

love that about Samantha. I mean, she always looks so fabulous anyway, like.

coryne:

Thank God, right?

francene:

Yeah. Especially when you look back at like the start of this season, when remember that episode of like. Carrie just looking like shit and like bumping into like big type thing. And it's like, I can't imagine Samantha ever being caught in that situation.

coryne:

Oh, right. I mean, I think Samantha looks better after a heartbreak than she did before. Like,

francene:

yeah,

coryne:

that's crazy. Yeah. Cause she's anyways. And so she goes and talks to him and like all three of the girls are just like, what is she doing? Dun, dun,

francene:

dun. I know. And then just. I don't know if it cuts to them again, or if it goes back to Carrie back at Biggs, right? Doesn't he open the cupboard and it's like

coryne:

all of her stuff? He is at her house. He shows up at her house after drinks with the girls because she's got the same outfit on and he's carrying a bag from like a department store and he's like, here you go. And she's like, Oh, what is it? And he's like, Oh, just some things you left at my place. And it's literally every single thing that she left at his place without exception. That's maybe

francene:

something I would do if I I'm a little bit like Biggs. I could be the one to bring my stuff, but if someone brought their stuff to me, I'd be like you left this. There is no place for this.

coryne:

Yeah. You might want to get it back. And then I, good for her. She comes in and she's like, I meant to leave that stuff. Like she, she owns it. Like, she's like, no, I was, I meant to. Have that stuff there. And he's like, why like,

francene:

talk He's like, why would you?

coryne:

And she tries to explain like basically, you know, like, I, I don't wake up looking like this and like I, you know, I would be nice to have a few things over there. And he totally is just like, nah, let's just keep it clean. Like, let's not do that. And she does take it in stride. I mean, obviously it, it bothers her, but she doesn't. Spin out in full carry fashion yet, which is, you know, impressive. But, you

francene:

know, immediately she's analyzing it and being like, he doesn't love me.

coryne:

Yeah.

francene:

He doesn't want my stuff there.

coryne:

Yeah. And then, then they cut to the next morning and she's waking up and like monologuing about it and like she's, you know, she's gonna write a full article about it. Obviously Oh man, that's amazing. Oh, and doesn't big say too, when they're having a conversation where he's like, you know, I, I just like, can't we just keep things just the way they are? We're like, you exist in your place. I existed in my place and we exist together when we want to essentially, which is again, like, it's almost like he's proposing like some alternate relationship, you know, instead of like just going for like the gusto, which puts us back to where Carrie was in the first season where it's like, he's not giving her what she wants.

francene:

Yeah, which continues for all the sex and safe fans out there continues to be a theme with him.

coryne:

Yes. Yeah.

francene:

Always like pushing those kind of relationship boundaries.

coryne:

Yeah. Like right on the edge of what is comfortable slash not comfortable for sure. So then we cut to Samantha's on a date with Dominic.

francene:

Yeah.

coryne:

And her, she has this whole plan. Oh, that's

francene:

right. She's like, I'm going to be the one to make him fall for me. And then I'm going to I'm

coryne:

going to break his heart back. Yeah. Basically, that's her plan. And they're at a very fancy dinner, essentially, and like, you know, we're seeing the beginnings of the plan unfold for Samantha. We'll see how it goes.

francene:

And then, doesn't Miranda date someone in this episode?

coryne:

No, Miranda's not. Next they go to, we're back to Charlotte and the pastry chef at his house cooking dinner. Remember the dinner scene and this dress that Charlotte has a first of all, so I loved it. It is kind of funny because she went from like their first, you know, date that she didn't realize was a date where she was like dressed down and like looked fabulous, but like very dressed out. And now we're at his house and he's like making beautiful

francene:

kitchen, by the way.

coryne:

Oh God. Especially in New York. And she's wearing like a freaking like sheath dress. That's like. Fabulous. Of all the places to wear that.

francene:

I know. Yeah, she does. But doesn't he say something like, Oh, you remind me of,

coryne:

you know, like

francene:

a film star or something?

coryne:

Cooking in the kitchen and like, you know, being all cute. And he's like, You know, passionately kisses her and that's right where he's like, is that any names? Oh, yeah. In a totally gay way. And it's like, throws her completely off. And she's just like, yes. Like, why do you know that?

francene:

I feel like, yeah, he is very much giving out vibes on both sides. Oh, if I was her, I'd be very, very confused. And I think also like, it's hard when like, clearly they had a friendship there. Like that wasn't the first time they'd gone out. So then when you also have like a good relationship with someone and then those kind of lines get blurred, it's hard to see, you know what I mean? It's hard to decipher that.

coryne:

Well, very interesting situation to be in with a man who is. Obviously. You know, tending towards the more feminine side in so many ways. Like, it's, it's a very bizarre thing. Like I, yeah, it's like, you don't know which role you're playing in there, you know, like,

francene:

yeah,

coryne:

yeah. I mean, it kind of almost could be like the frigging best of both worlds. Like it's like you, your gay best friend. And you're like attracted to each other. What?

francene:

And he, I mean, he's good looking. He's gorgeous. Yeah. He's beautiful. And then, so in the scene is when, so they're, you know, in, in the kitchen and then doesn't he see like a mouse?

coryne:

No, she spends the night. So that's later in the episode, but she, they have dinner. She spends the night, they have sex. I remember they show him and it's like mind blowing sex. Like she's like, Fully into like, it's great, right? And she makes a comment about like, I don't remember what it is, something about two orgasms. And she's like, doesn't care. She's like, I don't care. I don't care. Yay. Be straight. I don't care. That was amazing. And, and she, she wakes up the next morning and and he's in the kitchen making her, of course, some like decadent ass breakfast, like Creps or something like that. Oh, wouldn't that be amazing? Yeah. And he offers her coffee and she's like wearing his shirt and. They're like getting things out. And she's like, what's that noise? And she hears like this little, like, and he's like, I don't know. And she's like, do you hear that? He's like, yeah. Well, anyway, it's a rat in a mousetrap and he fully freaks out, like incomplete, like shrill. Oh yeah. He like jumps

francene:

on a chair.

coryne:

He's like more freaked out than Charlotte is about it. If

francene:

anything, it makes her more like, what are you doing? Like, let, let me just, Pick this up.

coryne:

And they're like kicking it back and forth to each other. He's freaking out. And so anyway, that you can see it in her face where she's like, that's, that's not gonna work for me. Like, I can't do that. I need one. I need a guy manly enough to like, take care of the mouse. Yeah,

francene:

well, especially and I appreciate what they're doing is they're showcasing some of like the extremes, right? Because to your point, it's like, I don't know. Having someone that you, you truly are in the same wavelength and you have that sexual chemistry and it's like your best friend and you appreciate the same things. I'm like, that's cool. But yes, having someone like scream when they see, you know, a mouse versus like, that's how I would react when you see like the masculine and like feminine

coryne:

relationships. Somebody's got to have the masculine energy in the house. And it needs

francene:

to not be me.

coryne:

I would prefer it. That'd be great. That's like me and roaches. Like I don't do roaches. Like I cannot do them. And Jason will not, he's just, he's like, he, he like, well, I'm like, there's a, there's a rush. Like it's fine. You can get, it's fine. Like he wanted, I'm like, no, this is, this is the moment. This is the one moment I need you to just go get it. We get like those big, you know, like tree roaches rarely, but they'll show up and one time there was one like over the freaking doorway that comes into our room, like up on the wall. Yeah. You're

francene:

like, I'm not going under that. It's going to fall immediately on me.

coryne:

And it was, it was high up there. So it's like, you'd have to like get on something to get to it. And so instead he gets this freaking nerf gun out that like. Such a guy. Oh my God. Little red balls. And like, he, well, he has a whole collection of them, but like, we play with the kids with them and stuff. Anyway, he's like, I'm going to shoot it down there. So then he's like shooting at this thing and he misses it like 12 times. And then when he hits it, of course it doesn't kill it. So it just like falls down and starts running away. They can outlive. Now we

francene:

have

coryne:

to move

francene:

like, yeah, there's like nothing killing like roaches will be here forever.

coryne:

They're going to, they, they are the meek that will inherit the earth one day.

francene:

The worst is when you turn on the light and you just see like a little like

coryne:

pedal. Like, yeah, now I know I'll never sleep again. That's awesome.

francene:

No, they're like the worst. So then it cuts to, I think Samantha and Dominic, who I guess after the date, they're back at her place.

coryne:

Yeah. They had gone back to her place and had like, had like amazing sex. And it's like, you know, she even calls Carrie, I think, and tells her, Like she calls,

francene:

she calls the next morning.

coryne:

Yeah. That

francene:

evening she's like in her mind. And I, I can't remember if there was like a model, maybe it's Carrie kind of speaking over the top, but it was like, she'd planned to like dump him. But then she's like, like, what's another couple of hours. And

coryne:

then she's like trying to justify herself in the morning of like, no, no, I'm in, I'm in control. Like this is, you know, it's all good. It's all good. She's like, I

francene:

wanted to remind him what he was missing.

coryne:

Yeah, yeah, that's her justification for why she's slipped from her original plan. It only

francene:

cracks me up too is when she's on the phone to Carrie and she's like, also, I'm better than him than bad.

coryne:

Yeah, I've improved. I've improved. Well, and then, so, and then it cuts, this is one of my favorite parts of this episode, so then it cuts to, they're at Charlotte's guys, Yeah.

francene:

With Stanford.

coryne:

And Stanford. They've obviously called in Stanford. The

francene:

little

coryne:

troops. Yeah. To, to put on the radar and see. To be like, what do you think? Is he gay? Is he straight? Stanford, you tell us. And he brings out like all these great like pastries and he's like. Fully like, so these being a full on gay pastry chef, like in Stanford is, you know, him in Stanford, like, Oh, yeah. And this and yes,

francene:

they've got great chemistry. And I think Stanford is like, cannolis, cream puffs and tarts. Oh, my.

coryne:

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, just like the way he walks, like everything about him is extremely, you know, flamboyant for sure. I mean, it's crazy. It's crazy. I mean, doesn't Stanford say he's like, I mean, he's obviously choosing to be straight. Like he's gay, but he's like choosing it. Yeah. He's

francene:

like, he's, yeah, I think they were still kind of undecided.

coryne:

Well, then that brings up the whole conversation of like, you know, Because she says, she says to Safer, she's like, dude, I mean, like, but she like, no. Right. And he's like, yes, honey. Like we know, we know at a very early age, but I mean, you know, I think it's, this is like,

francene:

we are aware we are aware. Yeah.

coryne:

Yeah. But I feel like this is like just a, a, you know, the fluid, like kind of like sexuality is not black or white. You know what I mean?

francene:

Even more so. I don't know, like sign of the times, right? Like when this came out versus now. Right? Like there is so much, I'm like, I know it's, I know it's the same, but I feel like there's so much more openness. Right. Yeah. The fluid that, would you even, I mean, I was watching, I don't know if you've seen Sex Lives of College Girls.

coryne:

No. Oh

francene:

God, it's so good. It's on HBO. It is, Funny. Anyway, one of them, like she comes out and they kind of go through it, but honestly it's like everything's so normal now, you know? It's like, it's not even, and look at like Harry Styles, like he wears dresses, like we, if anything, I'm like, I still think he's very masculine. I still think he's very attractive. And I don't. Like he's not, I don't think he's gay, but

coryne:

I think he has dated, I think he, oh, he ha

francene:

Is he bisexual? I think so.

coryne:

I think he's bisexual. I think so. But I mean that, yeah, but like bisexual. I'm like, I'm not put off

francene:

by No, no. Yeah. That

coryne:

piece. Right. I will say though, and there's another episode where Ke, Carrie dates a guy who is also dated a guy before her. Oh yes. That episode, I will say I, that would feel weird to me. I don't know if I would like that would definitely I would have to like grapple with that.

francene:

I think for someone like Harry Styles, I'd be okay with it because it'd probably be a night. But long term, I agree. I would want it. Yeah,

coryne:

I don't know. I think I also I also like, you know, my type is typically really, really masculine man. Like, yeah, and towards that, like real alpha male vibe. And so I think that's probably it's probably like a type thing for me. But I, you know, this guy, for instance, like, let's say he's never had sex with a man, but he's like super feminine. Like, I don't know. Yeah. I feel like that'd be real fun. Yeah, I know.

francene:

I don't know. I feel like if it was me, I would like push someone into it just to be like, I just want you to try just to make sure.

coryne:

Go on a date with a guy. Just make sure. But Charlotte has this conversation with him. I think she, I think they have it. Oh, yeah, they have it before the mouse thing happens because like the mouse thing hasn't happened yet, but she basically asks him like You know, are you gay? And he's like, honey, like I'm a 35 year old pastry chef living in New York City. If I was gay, I would be gay. And I appreciate that from him of like, he, he knows for sure what he's into. He's just, you know, is he's just into a lot of things that kind of. People perceive as gay. I know

francene:

you're right. Yeah, you're right. And Charlotte still like it's not for me

coryne:

Well, which that she asks him that before I think they have the amazing night of sex and then I think you're

francene:

right

coryne:

The next morning. Yeah, so she was okay with it She was totally gonna be cool with it until the mouse thing

francene:

happened. Yeah, which is yeah, cuz then you see yeah That's where I draw the line. Feminine. And actually what we didn't speak about is, Miranda went out for dinner with a fellow lawyer. Yes. It had like, hair plugs, hair plugs, and she couldn't stop staring at it.

coryne:

And he fully is like, Oh no, look, he's like, goes in for it, he's like, I mean, they're coming in nicely, like he talks all about it, like he's so proud, like, no big deal. And then she brings up. She feels that comfortable telling him about her. Oh, that's

francene:

right. And he fully, and he's like, Whoa, like if by all, doesn't he say something like,

coryne:

Oh, it's just

francene:

biology being like, clearly. Why would you

coryne:

play with nature? Like this was another part of this episode. It was like, Oh my God, like the timing of this, considering what's currently going on in the world around women's health. I was like, wow. Like that's where it starts right there. And I love Miranda never. Misses a biting quip to come back at somebody when they're being an asshole. And she's like, are you serious right now? Like you're gonna question the science of me and my lazy ovary. When you literally have like, what does she say? Like she said,

francene:

I don't need a latch from a man who's doing crop rotation on his forehead

coryne:

crop rotation on.

francene:

Because I think when she says this, he had just said, like, what a ridiculous abuse of science. He goes on to talk about like designer, designer sperm. And then he was like, why not just eliminate men altogether? Which again, is, is interesting how, like, when you see how far technology has come for fertility, for like hair plugs, like for transplant, you know what I mean? Right. Transcribed It's interesting that she's so accepting of, Oh, like your hair, like, good for you. Why would you not? And she's immediately like, Oh, yeah.

coryne:

Yeah. Well, I think that that is like such a it's such a, you know, just Mike, a telescope, I would say not a microscope, but like a telescope of like misogyny at its best. Like, Oh, it's fine. If it's benefiting you in some way, hashtag Viagra, but like, let's do anything scientific that benefits women. Like why, why would we do that? You know? And then I also love that she jumps right back at his ass and then they say she stays at dinner. Like she keeps eating your steak. Like I don't walk out immediately. Like she hangs out. She's like, it's cool. It's good. It's fine. It's no big deal. Well,

francene:

and I guess if it's like, I don't know, fellow lawyer, colleague. I don't know.

coryne:

I guess like, you know him. So you gotta like, I don't know. I would have left for sure. I don't give a shit. I would have left. Yeah,

francene:

same. After that comment, you'd be like, yeah, there's no coming back from this. Like, oh, I'm a sore head. I'm sorry.

coryne:

I'm out. Fuck you. And then I think we go to Samantha and Dominic after, it's obviously not the first time or the second time that she spent the night and they've had sex. They're like waking up together again. Oh yeah. And he like rolls over and he's like being all sweet and he's like, Oh yeah, cause she now

francene:

doesn't want to.

coryne:

And she monologues that, that like it's, she, she's like fallen for him again, right?

francene:

Yeah.

coryne:

Yeah. And she says, Oh

francene:

yeah, no, he says, Oh, I'm really going to miss you. And she's like, what?

coryne:

I'm not going anywhere. And he's like, Oh, cool. But I am, me and Anka have decided to work it out. The same model that he left her for the first time. That's

francene:

right. And she's like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. She's like, you're not doing this to me. I'm supposed to be doing this to you. And he just gets out of bed, gets dressed.

coryne:

Totally unaffected. Fully,

francene:

couldn't have given a fuck. And she's like, get out.

coryne:

And then she says something about, or they carry monologues over it. Something about She realized that she wasn't completely devoid of emotion and she was kind of proud of herself for it or something like that.

francene:

Yeah, I kind of appreciate that about Samantha too, like, again, we speak so often and, and I've been surprised at seeing her vulnerable state and some more so than the other girls in these episodes, but I also do appreciate that she wasn't the one to just like, fuck him about.

coryne:

Yeah, right. And it, there is still someone. She does care. In her skin, right. But I, I think that's the thing that I have enjoyed the most about watching this back like this is that I had such a conception of how tough she was and how like just Teflon she was. Yeah, same. Really, she's not. She's not like there's, there's much more depth there that I think I somehow missed the first go around.

francene:

I agree. I think I was just so busy concentrating on Carrie to be honest. I honestly do. I feel like that's all I cared about. Yeah, I

coryne:

know. They put it that way. Now it's like we can like really hone in on the rest of the characters. Yeah.

francene:

Now we're like, well, it wasn't Carrie. Sorry, it wasn't big. Right. Speaking of so Carrie spent the night at Biggs.

coryne:

Yes.

francene:

So they're laying in bed. They're spooning

coryne:

and then,

francene:

yeah, I think this is where she says. What did she say? Oh yeah, she's like, well now I need to go cause I need to pick up all my stuff cause my hair's dry. And doesn't she say something like did you notice I'm wearing my hair like

coryne:

straight now? Like I think it looks great the way it is right now. He's being like such a typical fucking dude about the whole thing, like totally.

francene:

He's like, I know.

coryne:

And she's like, no, I gotta go. I gotta get, you know, I gotta go home so I can get myself ready. And he like pulls her back in bed and is being sweet. Then she gets up and is like picking up her stuff and she decides, I think she's going to like leave a thong in his drawer. Yeah. Yeah. Which I think it was funny. And she pulls open like the top drawer of his dresser. Oh, this just like, this would have kept me in the relationship for another year. She like sees like the edge of a picture. And being nosy, like we all are, she like pulls it out and it's the most gorgeous photo of the two of them together. Like this, like kind of Candid photo,

francene:

black

coryne:

and white. And he's obviously got it like right there where he sees it every day. And she just like, what is the line that she says? There's some great line. She's like, I didn't need to leave my stuff because

francene:

I was there.

coryne:

I was there. Yeah. Oh, I love that. And then

francene:

he urges her to stay and she agrees.

coryne:

Yeah. He's got her. She's, she's right back. She's right back at that point. She's like, stay a little bit longer.

francene:

I do love that. I do love that.

coryne:

I love that. Her hair like this too. I love when she straightens her hair.

francene:

Same. Honestly, I love her hair and like, I love how much she changes up her looks like throughout all of the seasons. And I love all of them. There's one time I, I don't like it, but we can talk about that. And it's like later on the seasons, but I do love this long hair.

coryne:

Long, straight is great. And then I love it when she chops it into that Bob and it's curly. And then she does like a, it's like a relaxed version of that where it's like, it's curly, but it's not her like super curls.

francene:

Oh yeah. I didn't like the super crawls when she had the, the early, the lassies. No, I love those ones when it was long, but remember when she did the book launch and like, it's tight. Oh, I think that's,

coryne:

I don't know. We'll have to see that book launch is when it's chopped. And I think that's like some of my May, maybe like just in some episodes it's style differently.'cause I think, yeah,

francene:

cause I do like, I've used like that one.

coryne:

Yeah.

francene:

Many times when I go to the hairdresser, when I have like the blonde,

coryne:

you don't have that much hair. I know. I thing, I'm like, I want this chopped blo bob, where it's like you got three inches, the weight at the bottom. They're like, ma'am, that's. You would need lots of extensions or a wig. Also, not naturally curly. So

francene:

many of those conversations. All the time. Cause now it's like, I'm a little bit more realistic or I'm like, just. Put in the extensions and we'll just like go for it, but it does crack me up. And I'm like, how many times do you get sent a picture? And she's like, yeah, I have to be like, no, so funny. I look like this.

coryne:

I'm so honest. I like when I look, if I want to change my hairstyle, I look up like short bobs for girls with. thin hair or like, I get very specific. Don't show me any chick who's got like a one inch ponytail. Okay. I don't even play with me. That's not,

francene:

I know this has been like, since I took out the extensions, I

coryne:

don't

francene:

mind it. But when I fit it into a ponytail, it was like nothing, but it's, it's okay right now. Cause I've like, it's like recently washed, but you know, when you go past like the third day and it's just this like, I mean, especially when it's wet, there's just nothing there.

coryne:

I mean, that's my child, Croston's hair. I'd like, I tell her all the time, like, can we just like trade? Because like, you hate it. And I would die to have that hair. Yeah. I feel the same about ponytail is this big around. And it has been since she was like two years old. Oh, she's winning. It's so much hair. Like, she's that girl who has to get her hair thinned when

francene:

I always

coryne:

wondered who these girls were. It's my daughter. It's my kid. I'm like, wait,

francene:

when you're thinning her hair, I'll take it.

coryne:

Yeah, yeah. Can we make this into some extension? Like, it's got my DNA in it. Can you sprinkle it into my hair, please? That'd be great. Thank you. And it's the same color as my hair naturally, so like it would blend. Like, it's so weird. So funny. Yeah. All right, so that's the end of that episode. Next episode, we're on episode 13.

francene:

Yes,

coryne:

what

francene:

is it called? I don't

coryne:

know.

francene:

Oh, episode 13.

coryne:

Lucky number.

francene:

I don't know what it is. Oh, games people play.

coryne:

Games people play.

francene:

Oh,

coryne:

oh,

francene:

wait, wait. Is this the same episode? Is this the one with Bon Jovi in it?

coryne:

Oh,

francene:

Bon Jovi? Oh,

coryne:

we're gonna date Carrie. No, cause she's still with Big. It can't be, we can't have fast forwarded that much. Unless something big is about to happen.

francene:

It is. I loved it when Bon Jovi was in it.

coryne:

That's crazy. That's wild that they're, we're already to a place where they're pulling some bigger stars to be in the episodes. I

francene:

know. Do you remember when he, did you watch Ally McBeal?

coryne:

Oh God, that's been so long ago. I loved Ally McBeal. I did too.

francene:

Remember she dated Bon Jovi?

coryne:

I don't remember that, but I mean, that's, it's been, I, that's not one that I could like. He

francene:

was so hot in those episodes too.

coryne:

He was so good looking in this timeframe in the 90s. Yeah, his

francene:

hair.

coryne:

Remember when he was in that movie recently that's called is it called New Year's Eve? Or, and he's got like all those stars. Yes. He still looked good. He still looks good.

francene:

Oh yeah. He, he's like, man, he aged so much. Well.

coryne:

Whoever does his skin care, send us the deets, okay? Skin care

francene:

and hair, yeah, he's like legit. Okay. Well, we will book in and y'all, we will get back on semi track.

coryne:

Yeah, we gotta get Semi semi. If, if we, if this is, if this drop, no, this will drop before then. Hopefully we'll get one out so that we can say Happy Thanksgiving. And then we're going to be in holiday season, so.

francene:

I know. It's a shame they don't do like a Christmas special, Sex and the City. We should do a game.

coryne:

Oh, that's a good idea. A drinking game.

francene:

Oh my god, we should do a game and I'm going to ask Aaron to do it and it can be like a trivia on like how well do we really know Sex and City. That would be fucking good. Because I can't put it together.

coryne:

I have a Sex and City trivia game. Do you actually? On the cards, yes. I have what

francene:

we should, we should do it.

coryne:

This is for you. You just froze and you will. Oh, damn it. I missed it. I just missed it.

francene:

But yeah, we, we should do that. The

coryne:

most hilarious freeze ever. Oh yes. We'll have to do that for sure. We'll get back on. We'll get our schedule figured out. Okay. Well, we'll do some fun episodes. Yes, definitely.
