so let's dive into the episode:
Charlotte panics about her 'bed-manner' when her lover Dr. Bram Walker dozes off in bed once after a grueling day of surgery, so she takes a tantric sex class given in a very hands-on demonstration by a psychologist couple. Sam not only proclaims the dawn of pan-sexuality, but actually agrees to have a threesome with gay couple David and David, who lose interest in the idea just when she was running hot. Carrie bumps into (the cigarette of) very cute film composer Patrick Casey. She is puzzled how reluctantly he takes further steps until he confesses to be a recovering alcoholic, but when she is the one hitting the breaks...
Recording in progress.
francene:Already done.
coryne:Good job.
francene:I'm
coryne:already winning
francene:at life.
coryne:Yeah, live it, learn it. I
francene (2):He told Aaron, I was like, guess how long we were into that podcast yesterday before I realized I wasn't recording. He was like, oh my god.
coryne:That's awesome sauce. How's your day been? Such professionals. Pretty low key. I have crossing woke up in the wee hours with a fever and I gave her a COVID test a little while ago. She's got COVID.
francene:No way.
francene (2):What made you think to give her a COVID test?
coryne:Well, my mom tested positive for COVID on Monday.
francene (2):No.
coryne:And she had been with my mom for like, Less than 12, a little over 12 hours. And so she was totally fine, of course, like Monday, Tuesday. And then this morning she woke up and came in here this morning. She's like, mommy, I feel so bad and I'm freezing. And I felt her head and I was like, you have fever. And so I gave
francene (3):her
coryne:medicine and put her back to bed. And then like, you know, it came back and then she started complaining about. a headache. Oh, yeah. It was my mom. And I was like, Oh, so I tested her and she was positive.
francene (2):Oh, no. Oh, that sucks so bad. Is she feeling any better?
coryne:She does actually feel better right now. You know, kids like typically that she's had it like two other times. And typically she's fine in like two days. You know, they
francene (2):can man through it so much more than Yeah, she
coryne:bounces right back. So I'm hoping that's the case. And by the weekend, she's all good.
francene (2):Oh, we're a little too. At least she got yesterday.
coryne:Yeah. Yeah. True. And when she was yesterday, just like manifesting that school was going to get called off again tomorrow. And so I told her a little while ago, I was like,
francene (2):you're like, well, you
coryne:don't need to go have no school tomorrow. Well done, lady. Well done.
francene (2):Kids will do anything
coryne:for real. Poor thing. How about you?
francene (2):Today has been, it's been productive. But Luna had her first sleepover here at the house. She's done a sleepover before, but just not at the house before. And they were so good, but her friend has been here all day. And honestly, they have just been like, it's It's easier for me because I've been able to get work done, got organized, packed for the ski trip. She's like,
coryne:it's entertained.
francene (2):Yes. Fully entertained. And I just went up and said, okay, after the podcast, I'm going to take, take you back. And they were like, no, I'm like, y'all have been together nonstop for like three days now. I'm like, you'll be fine. You'll see each other tomorrow.
coryne:Yes. I remember when Crossan was about that age and we moved into this neighborhood and her and her little best friend, Kinsley. Started playing at each other's house. And you know, when you have an only child, it's like you've no, it's like a friend comes over and you're like, what in the, is it just like not even the kid here? Where is she? I know we like offer a lot to be honest. And meals, good to go.
francene (2):Yes! Yeah, snacks, meals, moms are entertained. Yeah, they have been a frickin breeze, so. Yeah, anyone that has an only child, just organize play dates.
coryne:Get a, get a best friend. Life is easy. Good to go. How cool if they live in your neighborhood? Pro tip.
francene (2):Literally, like, I can see their house from my window.
coryne:Yeah, same. They're like our expert neighbor.
francene (2):Yeah, you live in a great neighborhood,
coryne:and you know it's
francene (2):safe because it's gay too.
coryne:It does give the allure of safety. I worry a lot that we have like a misconception about that, but it does feel very, very safe.
francene (2):Yeah, I mean it is. I'm actually really looking forward to like coming over to your house again.
coryne:I know I'm excited to have everybody over. It's been so long since I have had an adult gathering here. Like, I know I've done crossings parties here, but like, that's why I went after you. And I talked about that on one of our pods. I was like, what do I want to do for my birthday? And I was like, you know, what sounds great is just like, everyone come here and like, just. Pop a bunch of bottles.
francene (2):I'm ready. I know what I'm going to bring. I know what I'm going to wear. And it's a little over the top, but I'm like,
coryne:yes, absolutely. That's what everybody's like. What's the dress code. And I'm like, I don't know. I feel like it either needs to be like, Full out ball gowns or pajamas, no in between. Like you have to pick. You either go PJs or full out black tie. Okay, I'm going to
francene (2):go the other way.
coryne:Yeah.
francene (2):I'm ready. I literally laid out my outfit. No word of lie.
coryne:That's hilarious. I love it. I, I have no idea what I actually was just on Rent the Runway. I was like, is it time? Cause I always pause my membership. Like after the. Run up of holiday events because then typically like I have nothing. Yeah. Like in
francene:January,
coryne:January until like my birthday. And I was like, is it time to re up this bad boy and like start thinking about some outfits? Cause I do have, like, I have a networking thing on Friday week like a lunch thing. And then I was like, and then my birthday party. And I feel like I'm, I feel like I'm going to need, Oh, you can justify that. Absolutely. I feel like I'm going to need Rent the Runway a lot more in my life.
francene (2):Yes.
coryne:Like now, you know?
francene (2):Well, now you're going to be networking everywhere.
coryne:Yes. I think, Ooh, like I need to favorite this dress right here. I know. I miss Rent
francene (2):the Runway. I love it. Like bring it back. I really enjoyed that period.
coryne:Yeah, it's, it's definitely been a, I've had a really great experience with it. And I you know, there's been some misses, but there's so few and far between, like, it's just as a, it's a great service. Yeah,
francene (2):it really is. Yeah. I love
coryne:to that, whatever they're doing there, there has not come another competitor. That it has, can hold a candle to them.
francene (2):I, I agree. Someone at work told me about, Oh, I've forgotten the name of it, but I want to say it's more, What's the term? What, what is it? Something luxury.
coryne:It's like higher end? Like, like, No. Oh. No, I would,
francene (2):Yeah, I would say it's more like day to day kind of casual, but you're, you're looking more like chic. But when I looked at it, I'm like, you could just buy those pieces. Like, Rent the Runway to me is like designers and silhouettes and dresses that I don't want to constantly just buy and wear once, you know? Yeah, yeah,
coryne:yeah. The Rent the Runway is labels that like I, like, if I bought that piece, it would be the only thing I could buy this month in my clothing. Yes. And like, or like, especially the dresses that I wear for events, they're like thousands of dollars. Like I would never spend that much on an outfit. No, same. For an event. Like, never. And so like you get to wear, I can't tell you how many times I've been at an event in something. We're at the runway. And somebody is like, Oh my God. Where did you get that? And I'm like, Oh, and like, I'll say the designer and I'm just like,
francene (2):I was the same with the jacket. Because I have like some base jackets, but I really enjoyed mixing and matching their jackets for like work and stuff.
coryne:That's a good idea. I should look at that. See, it's been so long since I have needed to dress in like a business professional. Attire like frequently enough that what I have doesn't work, you know,
francene (2):I can't wait to see your outfits. You
coryne:know, I need to, I need to get in there and start thinking about like, that's a good idea though. Cause I feel like a couple key like statement jackets I could mix into what I already have. Yes. Yes.
francene (2):And then it just brings it up. Yes.
coryne:That's a great, that's what I'm going to be doing after this call today.
francene (2):That will be your focus. Okay, so before we get into the episode, will we do another quiz?
coryne:Let's do it.
francene (2):Okay, so this is a little bit more spicier. So again, looking at kind of what character, but it's more bedroom activities, I guess, focusing on.
coryne:Okay, here we go. I got it. Oh, yeah.
francene (2):Straight in. So, question mom, what is your idea of foreplay? Is it A, scheduling it between meetings, B, soft music, candles, and sweet whispers C, skipping it, who needs foreplay, let's go, or D, a steamy conversation about feelings that somehow turn sexy?
coryne:Okay, first of all, anybody who thinks all four of these are not necessary in a long term relationship is crazy. Where's E? All of the above. I don't know how to choose. This is famous man. I don't know. I mean sometimes it's B. Sometimes it's C Sometimes it's D Sometimes it's none of these like What say you? Minds is Dean. See I want to lean to D I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna like half B, half D, a little C, rarely an A, rarely an A. Yeah,
francene (2):same.
coryne:Yeah, I don't. In like work
francene (2):mode.
coryne:Oh yeah. Soft music, I'm gonna go B.
francene (2):Okay, B. Let me add Corinne. Okay, what's your favorite accessory in the bedroom? A. A no nonsense attitude and maybe handcuffs if you're feeling wild. B. Lingerie that took hours to pick out. C. A drawer full of toys and zero inhibitions. Or D. Your imagination and willingness to try anything at least once. I'm going to say A. Oh, I love that. Mines is D, but not anal.
coryne:D with a caveat, ladies and gentlemen.
francene (2):Yeah, as well as a caveat. We'll try anything but. Literally.
coryne:Yeah, yeah, yeah. I love it.
francene (2):Oh, God. Okay. See, how do you feel about casual sex? A, it's fine if there's at least a spreadsheet involved to track it, lol. And B, not my thing, I need commitment first. C, love it. Why settle for one flavor when there's a whole buffet? D, it's complicated. Can we analyze why it happened afterwards?
coryne:So this is another one where 20 year old me would have absolutely been a C, and 40 year old me is. A B, maybe a D.
francene (2):Now I'm B for sure. I've just
coryne:lost my, my, my appetite. Like I have no interest in that anymore at all. Like, so I'm going to say B because like, meh, it's totally not my thing anymore. Used to be definitely my cup of tea. Kept a box of that tea in my pantry.
francene (2):Okay, four. What's your reaction to a partner suggesting something kinky? A. I'll consider it after I Google it and create a pro con list. B. Oh my. Well, maybe after we've been together for a while. C. Finally, someone who can keep up with me. Or D.
francene (3):Hmm,
francene (2):does it have emotional depth? Then sure. Did you say C?
coryne:Yeah.
francene (2):I love that. I'm B. I'm like, wait, let's just get comfortable. I want the commitment, but I want the long,
coryne:I can't believe you didn't want to create a pros cons list on that. That's hilarious.
francene (2):For sure. I would have Googled it too. I'm like, wait, what is this? I couldn't hang with like, like now knowing some of like the terminology and stuff some people use, I'd be like, what?
coryne:Yeah, like I do actually have to Google that now. Yeah, what
francene (2):are you talking about?
coryne:Right.
francene (2):Okay, last question. Five. How do you talk about sex with your friends? A. Blunt and sarcastic, no sugarcoating here. B. Blushing and giggling, but always listening for advice. C. Shamelessly and in graphic detail, I am the advice. M or D in a poetic monologue that somehow ends up about my shoes.
coryne:I'm gonna go C for me and you're definitely a B. I am for sure that B. Now we have, these are so freaking obvious, like, who's gonna be each one, you know, like, we need one that's more intuitive, like, that's less obvious.
francene (2):Yeah, because for you, you have, I don't know, you have a mix,
coryne:you
francene (2):have a mix of B, C, and then you had another one, what was the other one? No,
coryne:mine was yeah, you
francene (2):have B's and C's B's and C's, yeah,
coryne:no, I was D on the first one, then A,
francene (2):oh, that's right, sorry,
coryne:then, I'm all over the place on this, then B, then C, and then C. So the only thing most, the only one that I had more than one of the same is C. Which is Samantha. Yeah, but like, it's barely Samantha. I'm a little bit of all of them when it comes to my sex life.
francene (2):That is true. Whereas I'm B B B D D. Ah! Charlotte with a touch of Carrie. There you
coryne:go. Boom! That's for that kind of quiz, I think. That's hilarious.
francene (2):Finally, we get some Carrie Bradshaw in this. Okay. So, season 2, episode 16, was it good for you?
coryne:Was it good for you? Was
francene (2):it good for you? Carrie Bradshaw is at an all time dick in this episode. Yes, style high, without a doubt. Yeah. But I'm like I have some scathing reviews about her at the end.
coryne:She this is an episode that I, it's, it was it's like one of the easier watches. Like I had forgotten most of it. And it was, it was fun. It was fun to watch this one for sure. It touches on like, It's, it's like a, it was kind of fresh, you know, it was like, we weren't dealing with any of the others drama that's been kind of carried through. I,
francene (2):I, yes, I agree. It was, yes, it was funny. It was funny, light,
coryne:cute,
francene (2):cute. And yes. Carries outfits. Oh, this is it. Oh, he's last like two episodes, man. She's got it. This is her icon.
coryne:She's in the air. This is why. Yes. Yeah.
francene (2):A hundred, a hundred percent. No one can dispute that. Okay, so this episode starts off with Charlotte, Charlotte's in bed with a, was a brain surgeon or a surgeon? What kind of surgeon? Hand surgeon?
coryne:Orthopedic, because he did two carpal tunnel surgeries. Oh yeah, what does that mean?
francene (2):Orthopedic.
coryne:Like the, the ligaments in your hand. He's a hand surgeon. And the thing that I love the most about him was his name, which was Brom, as in Brom Stroker, is all I can think of. Like the guy from Dracula. Like, I was like, what a name. They, Charlotte, the, the names of these dudes, Charlotte States is, it cracks me up.
francene (2):Well,
coryne:it's
francene (2):like an interesting, like, how do you get into, like, you know what I mean? Like, you're becoming like a doctor or surgeon. You're like, you're going to deal with hands.
coryne:Who knows? It's so random,
francene (2):right?
coryne:That's a great question. I feel like I wonder if it's Like a personal experience, like, you know, like a parent or a brother or so, you know, like, I'm going to
francene (2):fix that.
coryne:Yeah, at a crippling, I think sometimes when it comes to specializing doctors get to the point and they're like, who makes the most money there? Or like, what's the least amount of hours? And I can still be a medical doctor and make good money, you know, like I feel like some of it is. Oh yeah, that's
francene (2):true. That's definitely a consideration.
coryne:Yeah.
francene (2):Okay. So she's in bed with the surgeon guy as they're doing it and he falls asleep inside of her. And he, she's like, are you asleep? He's like, I'm so sorry. I've been up since 5. 00 AM.
coryne:And he's like, I had back to back surgeries, and the funniest thing is the first thing he said was like, no, no, no, no, I was just resting my eyes.
cory:He fell asleep.
coryne:So, hilarious, personal note, totally have had this happen to me. No,
francene (3):tell me.
coryne:The funny part is, the way Charlie reacted and the way I handled it. Polar opposites, but I was, it was a guy that I had hooked up with a few times, again, this was in my 20s, and we had been out partying, like, it was the wee hours of the morning, and like, we had been, you know, doing it for a while, and like, he, he just like, literally like, got still, and I was like, What the, and I like moved and you're like, Hey, and I was like, all right, I think we'll probably call it a night. Like, you know, just like, I think it's just like pure exhaustion, like pure, even drinking and like, you know, it's almost like a, you just pass out kind of thing. Like, just like we were, we were wild and crazy in our twenties. And like, yeah, no, I didn't, I did, I did not take offense though at all. I was like, that's just like a. Your body is shutting the fuck down because we've, we've been doing too much today.
francene (2):Yeah. I, I don't, I don't know how I would react or maybe cause in the next scene you see Charlotte just, she's so dressed down first light. And I know they've done that purposely. Like she's in Sweats, a hoodie. She looks like, you know, she's got puffy eyes, like, she is crying at Carrie's and she's like, Oh my God, I know, terrible and bad. I'm like, I would have done that myself. I don't know if I
coryne:would have gone to a friend and told so upset for baby. She is so upset. Yeah, yeah, for sure. And Carrie was so sweet about it, but she like, yeah, I don't, I, that it didn't affect me like that.
francene (2):But it's funny too, the way like Carrie's trying to like comfort her and she's like, Oh honey, did you want some tea? Do you want some tea for your tummy? And she has all these like teas from her cupboard. And she's like, wait, does she say something like, oh, I'm sure it happens all the time. And she's like, has it happened to you? And she's like, oh, no, honey.
coryne:The thing that I just like almost fell out of the bed laughing at was the scene right after she's at Carrie's it cuts to Samantha. We're in Samantha. Carrie walking down the street, which this, okay. Love this outfit. Samantha's outfit. Also love it. Why have I never had a short sleeve suit jacket? Like love that. Like it's like this red and it's like a short sleeve. And I'm like, that is, it looks so good. And her, the dress she's wearing underneath it, it's like the same color right at the top, but then it's actually pink on the skirt. I loved it. Anyway, they're talking about. Carrie is obviously telling Samantha what happened to Charlotte and that she came over crying and Samantha is so Savage. Oh, she is
francene (2):fucking savage.
coryne:Absolutely. That means she's bad in bed like that
francene (2):And then the other quote that cracked me up too. She's like honey, of course, it's her Have you seen her on the Stairmaster? And then she's like, who we are in bed is who we are in life.
coryne:Life! And she's like, there's nothing going on below that waist. So she's like, Samantha is savage, like she's not, oh my god, it just made me laugh so damn hard. Like she is her, a hundred percent, it's all Charlotte.
cory:All Charlotte and carries like cracking up.
coryne:Yeah. And she, she's cracking up. And also she's like, very much like pushing back, like giving it back to Samantha. It's like, okay, you're sure you're okay. You're totally sure. I got it. Oh, so funny. So funny.
francene (2):I love their walks together. Sometimes like those two, I really appreciate. Their friendship I, theirs
coryne:has always I think, been my favorite one. Yeah, same like they had, there's some moments between them that are just the best. I love it.
francene (2):A hundred percent. Yeah. So then. I think maybe Samantha mentions it in like a flashback of, well, last week, her gay couple friends, David and David,
francene (3):invite her
francene (2):out for dinner and they want, they wanted to know if she was like seeing anyone. So then it cuts to the kind of scene. And they're like, Oh, it's because we've never had sex with a woman and who better than Samantha Jones. So they invite her for threesome.
coryne:Yeah. Samantha tells Carrie, she knows she's good in bed because last week these gay friends. Oh, that's right. And they like over dinner, they propositioned her with a threesome essentially. And of course, and Samantha tells Carrie in her conversation, she's like, so I'm considering it like. He's thinking about doing it. Oh, and Carrie's like, but they're gay. And she's like, yeah, exactly. Like, she's totally into it. Totally down. Of course she is.
francene (2):I would love to hear, like, from, like, that perspective on someone that's, you know, like, never been with a woman or, like, never been with a guy. Like, I don't know, like, how that would be.
coryne:I don't have a lot of perspective on that personally, but I wonder, I would think that like, I mean, I do know that gay guys, again, I think it comes back to like sexuality is a sliding scale.
francene (2):Yeah, it's like a threesome, like I wouldn't need to be. Gay in order, you know what I mean, to have,
coryne:yeah. And I think it's so much more forgiving for women, but you would think gay guys is like super forgiving too. I think gay guys are attracted to women. Or they appreciate. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, are all the gay guys I know, like they, you know, like appreciates your, the things about you that are sexual or attractive. Yeah. So anyway, I, I, I can imagine that. Most of the gay guys I know. Or I'm really close with, like, have had sex with a woman at some point.
francene:Oh, really?
coryne:Yeah. Like, two of my closest ones were both married to women at points in their life. Yeah. And so, like, I think that's really common, too, that, like, I mean, it may be. That could also be an age
francene (2):generational mm-hmm As well. Mm-hmm
coryne:That, that, like, there was a lot of, probably it was, it was a lot, a very different scene to come out when they were young than it is now. Thank God. Yeah. Yeah. And so I feel like a lot of the times they tried to be in a hetero relationship. Mm-hmm. And, and probably it was part of the reason they were like, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Yes. It's not working. Yeah.
francene (2):right, because you, yeah. You must get to a point where you're like, it's just not. It's not for me.
coryne:Yeah, I'm just not into that. Yeah, for sure. But I don't know. I mean, I guess it's again, it's that sliding skill sexuality. And like, there's probably some people who identify as gay, but they can be sexually aroused by, you know, people of the opposite sex.
francene (2):Yeah, I remember having a crush on someone when I was like, at school, who was gay. And I was like, I know I can change this. I'd like the biggest crush on him. Yeah, because it was weird. Cause like, sometimes like we had such like a flirty relationship, you know what I mean? And like, sometimes, I don't know, there'd be that weird gray area. Yeah. But then we were also young. I mean, it was like, what's 16, 17.
coryne:Yeah.
francene (2):But yeah, I remember that vividly being like, I can do this. He was like new.
coryne:No, you
francene (2):were not. I was not successful. So then it comes to Carrie who then goes to write her column. And one of the statements she makes is, how do you know if you're good in bed?
coryne:I love that this is like the theme of the episode.
francene (2):I, I mean, like, it's a good question though. I mean, I don't think I've ever. Like with the guy, I'm sure we spoke about this before because there was an episode where Miranda like fakes it.
coryne:Yes.
francene (2):I was like, I don't think I ever have, but I feel like I make it awkward. You mean? You know, you mean? Like if I'm not, like you would know I wasn't. Right.
coryne:That make sense? Yeah. No, I, I know for sure. I'm really good in bed and I, same exact reasons as Samantha. I've been told that several times and like, you know, it's, I mean, all satisfied customers, even the one who feels, okay,
francene (2):Oh, I hope people feel the same with me.
coryne:Oh, it's hilarious.
francene (2):Okay. So then, Oh. So then Carrie, another fabulous outfit, she is wearing, she's walking on the sidewalk, minding her own business. And a guy throws a cigarette and it hits off of her. And she's so dramatic. She's like, Oh, Oh, it's like, Oh my God, what are you doing? It's as if like, someone's just like hit her.
coryne:Yeah. And she said, she's like, I felt like I got stung by a bee. Like she's so drama.
francene (2):And then she looks at him and she's like, Oh, I'll be okay.
coryne:And he comes over, Oh my, Oh, my daughter's.
francene (3):On
coryne:YouTube. Breaking in. Oh, God. Something on YouTube. Oh, I just heard YouTube. She's broadcasting me. Yeah, she's like totally into the guy and he he asked to like take her out for a coffee or something as an apology. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Which is kind, I guess, and she accepts because she thinks he's cute.
francene (2):And I think one of the things she thinks about, like, while she's at coffee, and I think they've been talking for a couple of hours, he, she learned she, he's a composer but also that he's a smoker. And she's like, how, how many guys, how many attractive guys, single like I'd be silly not to. And then she realizes she's running late. She has to go. She says goodbye. And then she goes back to give him her number.
coryne:And she says that her model, or she's like, I mean, how many single good looking smokers are there left in New York?
francene (2):I love that that that's her standard.
coryne:Yeah, I know. Well, I mean, I guess like. You know, Carrie is kind of a rarity in being a smoker. So I guess she's like honing and that must be something she's obviously, you know, conscious of.
francene (2):Yeah, you must be.
coryne:Yeah. Especially then. Yeah, who knows?
francene (2):But he's cute. We feel good about him.
coryne:Yeah.
francene (2):Good combo. No red flags.
coryne:So far we approve.
francene (2):So then it cuts to her helping Miranda make her bed. So many thoughts, Francine. Tell me.
coryne:First of all, the bed
francene (2):sheets.
coryne:Her. Yes. Her hair again. I know I'm being harsh on her but it's like the current color of it is like not red. It's like I don't even know it's it's like it's it almost looks dark brown but you can see the bottle red like in the roots of it almost it's so bad and like the cut is so bad like it's bad it's just bad bad bad like what they were doing with this poor woman's hair at this part it just it kills me and she's got on another outfit that this outfit's okay but she has selected it. Pastel pink, everything.
francene (2):Yeah, it's, it's even like the pattern, like I could deal with it if it was just plain.
coryne:The funny thing is I remember this style in the 90s, early 2000s, where it had like these like, I don't even know what to describe that, it was like little baby tassels all over the top of it. Like coming up with the weirdest thing ever and it's funny that she doesn't, because I remember an episode where she does, she, it's like a big thing about her bed and she's like, you know, if you make it, they will come or something. Yeah, yeah, that's it.
francene (2):That's what she says.
coryne:And I think it's when she gets rid of these terrible fucking sheets. But I'm
francene (2):like, how much did she pay for them?
coryne:They're bad. Yeah,
francene (2):they're
coryne:bad. And her hair, like, can we move to the place where somebody figures out her hair?
francene (2):Isn't she a natural blonde?
coryne:Oh, I have no idea. I know that, I know that I've seen her blonde in real life, but I don't know if, I don't know naturally. I, you know, you would assume she's a redhead because we know her as a redhead through all this, but she, is she blonde and in just like that?
francene (2):She goes to strawberry blonde. She, yeah, she goes more into like strawberry blonde. Her natural hair color
coryne:is blonde.
francene (2):Oh my god, how did I just know that? I don't know. I was just googling it to check. I don't know why I knew something like that. The shade that they go to, like, down the road. Yeah, I'm surprised they go with something like that.
coryne:It's bad. I
francene (2):wonder if her character in the book had red
coryne:hair. Ooh, I don't know. That's a good question. I don't remember. Yeah, I don't remember either. But she Yeah, when it, they get like a lighter and it's a little bit more strawberry and that's really good. It's more complimentary to her. This is very harsh.
francene (2):And then it doesn't help that what she has been wearing this season specifically is very contrasting, sharp colors.
coryne:Well, and the, the, the, the cut of it is bad. Like the whole thing is bad right now. It gets so much better. I need to do like a, I need to find a post that we can put on the on our Instagram page. It's like, like her hair evolution. During sex in the city,
francene (2):yes, to how it gets so much better.
coryne:Yes. Cause it gets so much better, but it's like, I guarantee you, if I Google this, there's one where there's one that already exists. So let's see, here we go. Get over texting it over. I mean, this doesn't even show the worst of them, but like, look how much she looks so much more beautiful. Like she is, that's the craziest thing is like, she's a beautiful woman and they are doing her. No favors.
francene (2):And I feel like they did. Oh yeah. Yeah. I agree. Yes. Like those bottom three. Well, we'll post this. I know no one can see what we're looking at, but the bottom three, just softer like that red is just so much. That or whether I color her face to her whole
coryne:like, originally, I can't even think of the word for the color that it is right now, but it's like, it's bad. It's like burnt red or something. Like, it's like a, and it looks so much like it came straight out of a drugstore bottle. And that's the thing about Miranda is, you know, that she is not doing her own hair in the bathroom.
cory:No. Oh, sure. No.
coryne:Right. Right. Yeah, she's going to carry, carry my dire here in the bathroom. Okay, I can see that. Yeah.
cory:They absolutely
coryne:not. Absolutely not.
francene (2):And so while they're, while they're doing the bed sheets, one of the thing Carrie speaks about is the fact that it's been three days, the guy hasn't called her. And did you know is this is kind of like how it was a couple of episodes ago where Miranda would. You know, give carry her space to talk. Then she would switch the conversation and carry kept on bringing it back to her and then making such a, I mean, we know none of these girls are ugly at all. And then she's like, like, am I ugly? Like, why does this happen? I'm like, oh, it's so self pitying a little bit.
coryne:I have to say, it's one of my least favorite character traits of women in general since I was at a very young age. And I don't know why, I, I don't know why, but I always had this in me, like, I, Always was put off when, even when I was like 12 and one of my girlfriends would be like, I'm fat or anything, any talking down to yourself. Like I always was just like, why would you say that about you? Like
francene (2):that, especially when you look at like her, like I understand you have, everyone has their own insecurities. Like I get it. But it's like, we know for sure. The complete opposite of ugly. Like, you can't even ever say she's unattractive.
coryne:Yeah, and I know that, yes, women all have, like, yes, and it starts in our pre teens, where, like, yes, we start to get, the society puts insecurities about the way that we look onto us. I understand that. Yeah. I am here to be empathetic and sensitive, sensitive to that. But it's in moments like that, same, same exact thing. That was the point I'm making is like, it's moments like that where like, you don't, you know, you're not fucking, you know, you're
francene (2):not, you
coryne:just, you know, you're a good looking girl. Like don't, why are you going to say that? Like don't say that about yourself. Like that's, and listen, disappointing writing I found. PSA to our young listeners, like, there are plenty of people out there to say shitty things about you. You don't need to be one of them. Yeah, I
francene (2):love that.
coryne:Trust. Always speak positively about yourself because There's plenty of hate to go around out there. You don't need to be a part of that game.
francene (2):A fucking man.
coryne:Yeah, for sure. But anyway. Yeah. Carrie's, we're gonna end
francene (2):the podcast there.
coryne:People
francene (2):just need to,
coryne:right. That, that her saying that it also like the fact that she's bothered that some freaking street urchin that she just randomly met hasn't called her in three days. Like, Carrie, come on, girl. Get your life. I
francene (2):know. I feel like she just normally wouldn't give a shit.
coryne:I remember back when I was young and single and like, you would think you had a connection with someone you met for like five minutes somewhere or whatever. And like, I definitely can remember that of like, you know, being like, Oh, so you just like, you're so anxious for him to call. Like you just really, and then when he doesn't or he isn't like there's, you're just like, or like,
francene (2):why? Yeah. What's going on.
coryne:Yeah. Also
francene (2):they're not 20. I know that's what I mean. Like they're like mid thirties. Yeah. It's like I, that's what annoys me sometimes, so I'm like, that's like me acting that way. Yeah. why is my husband not called me?
coryne:Yeah. Like that's like 20-year-old behavior that, that like, if you were in that age group, it would be like, I get it. Yeah. Fine. Like that
francene (2):is our two cents. So then it switches to Carrie. She's walking down the street again in the most beautiful floral outfit. God, she just. Killing it. She's glowing
coryne:every outfit at Miranda's. It's like, Oh, all of it. I know, I know. We're going to say
francene (2):this
coryne:every episode moving forward now. I know we're in there. I know it. We're in
francene (2):it.
coryne:We're at the point now where she was constantly influencing and inspiring me and my fashion future.
francene (2):Oh, even now, you know, I forgot to mention this last one. But that dress she wore, you know, the classic Carrie, I bought that dupe. Like, I have that. Yeah, there, there's actually a number, do you remember that website, ASOS?
coryne:Oh, yeah.
francene (2):Okay. So, they used to have, and I wish they still did this, where you could pick a celebrity and it would have dupes, but they would be very inexpensive, right? Yeah. It'd be like fast fashion. I bought so much of Sarah Jessica Parker
coryne:stuff. Dupes. Oh, man. That's so cool. Wow. If you're listening, could you create that within the app, please? I would get
francene (2):honestly, like just everything and like the big flowers and
coryne:that, yes, I know. Well, that you have God that reminds me of we're skipping ahead, but you know, the dress and I'm talking about that. It's the beginning of the first movie. It's white. It has this huge, love it. Love that dress. Amazing. One of the best anyway. So it was walking down the street, beautiful floral dress. Yeah. And it's from St.
francene:Patrick.
coryne:She's shopping vintage, which I love, and she's about to cross the street, and she sees her smoker standing across the street talking to another guy, and she says in her monologue, she's like, I could have just, you know, turned the other way, and she's like, but I decided to be brave and like, walk up to him. Yeah, good for her. She's definitely taking the aggressive approach this guy. Oh, she is
francene (2):persistent.
coryne:Yeah, for sure. So walks across the street. She's like, Hey, and he turns around. He's like, Oh, hey. And then he's like, instantly awkward. She like introduces herself to the guy that he's speaking to, because he doesn't. And like, he's like, obviously, like, doesn't want her there. It's like giving off a real like, awkward energy. And he says, he's like, well, we were like having a conversation. And she's like, Okay, no problem. My bad. And she like, you know, walks away, which I appreciate. I thought she handled that pretty well. That part. Yeah. Yeah. You know, I agree. And at the same time it's like, that's so like embarrassing to like, you know, like to run into the guy that his, especially when you
francene (2):put yourself
coryne:then Yeah. Like back into that situation twice at this point. Yes. Twice hun. Yeah. Anyways, and then two months
francene (2):after her. Yes. And he, she's like, Oh, I was, she says something about like, Oh, that was just very awkward.
coryne:So, so sorry. And he's like, let me explain. She's like, no, no, you don't need to explain. Like, I totally get it. And she, I see you're with
francene (2):your boyfriend. Yes.
coryne:I get it. I get it like that. That's the only way to explain why that's her.
francene (2):I know that's where her mind immediately went. It's like, it's like there was something in her, like, Oh, that's why he didn't call. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
coryne:Totally fine. You're fine.
cory:Yeah. Feels so much better.
coryne:But he explains, no, that he is an alcoholic and him and the guy he's talking to had just left a meeting or were going into a meeting
francene (3):and he's
coryne:like, you know, I wanted to introduce you, but like, it's anonymous and I'm not supposed to. And so she's like, totally get it. And the craziest thing here is like, I can't believe she wasn't like thrown off by that.
francene (2):Oh, like, yeah, at all. And he said he's been in it for 11 months. And he mentioned that he told his sponsor about the day and the sponsor advised him that like, Hey, you're this isn't a good time to be dating yet.
coryne:He says, you know, you shouldn't date anyone for a year. So he's at the 11 month mark. Yeah. Dating one for a year. And I think she says something to the effect of like, well, listen. When, you know, you hit the 12 month mark, give me a call. Yeah. Yeah. Which, again, like, I, I don't know, Carrie loves to drink. Like, I can't believe she's not
francene (2):But wait, is this when she makes Doesn't she make the most awkward joke? Like I love, I love alcoholics. Like I love, what does she be one one day. Yeah. She does, she does, she does. Dying. Feeling that's something I would say just out of like pure awkwardness of like, I don't know why I fucking said that.
coryne:It's like that or you say the comment of like, Oh, alcoholics are just quitters like this,
francene (2):but it's, you know, it's also her saying that and to your point of not for this, not being a red flag, I wonder how much she was just downplaying in her head. What truly he was. Going through, like to the extent of like his alcoholism.
coryne:Well, then it makes me think too, like, or is it that she just was so upset that he hadn't called her that she was like, no, I'm closing this deal. Oh, yes.
francene (2):Yes. Okay. So that's, yeah, that's part of my, she was persistent as fuck. So he's already sad. Okay, I need to kind of, he's alluded to the fact, you know, he's taking it slow, blah, blah, blah. So then she's like, well, let's. What does she say? Like, well, is there any harm in like
coryne:coffee? She's like, give me a call, like, you know, in a month. And then she goes to walk away and he's like, wait, wait, wait. He's like, listen, he's like, it's only a few more weeks. Like let's go on a date. So he's like, I'll, you know, we'll set something up, whatever. And then immediately next scene, they're on their first date and they went for a coffee.
francene (2):They went for a coffee. And then this is when. And I feel she is fully just to your point, narrowed in on sealing the deal. It's like, she just. Needs him to, like, I don't know what it is, but he literally says in the conversation, like, I'm very compulsive, like, a compulsive personality. Like, if I open a bag of chips and I appreciate, he says that very minorly because, like, I need to eat the whole thing. So he's already alluded to the fact that. Clearly he's an alcoholic.
coryne:He's an addict. Yeah. And
francene (2):in her mind, all she cares about is, I leaned in to kiss him, gave him all the sign, and he just walks away. It was a little awkward. Didn't say anything. Didn't even say bye. He just walks away.
coryne:Listen, okay. Like the rejection
francene (2):in her.
coryne:Yeah. If you agreed to go on a date with an alcohol, an admitted alcoholic with only 11 Months of sobriety under his belt. Wouldn't you have, like, a ton of questions to, like, qualify if this was a legitimate potential person for you? Yes. Like, I would have had, there would have been so many more things on my mind other than, like, where Carrie's at. And, like, to your point, like, he's giving you The red flags, all of them, but
francene (2):also it's like, I appreciate the way he does it is not ideal. And obviously he's trying to deal with it the best way he can, but there's clearly something stopping him from kissing her that he's protecting her and him. So then you see the next scene is they go out for dinner again. They're back on the steps,
coryne:like one, like back to back, like it's like literally back to back. So
francene (2):you can see how. Frequently, they're seeing each other they're on the steps and he says something like, what is that smell? It just smells amazing. And she's like, it's me. And then she leans and again, and he does the same thing again.
coryne:Yeah, he does. And she's like, she like, doesn't she like throw her hands up or just Is this the point where she says something to him about it?
francene (2):No, you're right. So she, she throws her hands up a little bit as he walks away. Then it cuts to the third date where they're in the same situation again. And God is so awkward. She kisses his chin.
coryne:Yeah. She's like fully like Right there, like, all over his face and, like, she finally just, like, pecks his chin because, like, he's not kissing her back and then I think that's the point where she's like, what the fuck?
francene (2):And she, and then this is where, again, if it's me, clearly he is creating a boundary here. So I would voice, hey, I appreciate you want to like, you want to take it slow. Like it's not me
coryne:creating this boundary. Yeah. Talk to me about that. Yeah. Whereas
francene (2):no, no carry very selfishly is like, Oh no, no, no, I'm making this happen. So she goes to walk up the steps and she comes back and she grabs him because she knows he's interested.
coryne:Yeah. Yeah. Cause she says, doesn't she say when she leaned in for her kiss, she felt his, she says she can tell he's hard, but she says it in like the funniest Pop, pop on by or something like that. Yeah. It, she
francene (2):knew, she knew he was ready.
coryne:So again back to her like she is pursuing this guy. Yes. Yeah. So
francene (2):yeah, there's something about this and I'm like, Karen, how a character
coryne:for her.
francene (2):Yeah. I'm like, let, like. Take it slow. So then one of the things he says before they go upstairs is he's like, look, I've never had sex sober. And I think he's obviously concerned about it. He's and doesn't he say something like, I don't know how I'm going to be.
coryne:Yeah, he said that and he's like, you know,
francene (2):eyes back into the narrative of how I get in bed.
coryne:Yeah. And so she's like, it's okay. Like, you know, we'll figure it out, whatever. And so then cut to, they've just done it. He
francene (2):fucking loves it. He's like, Oh. That was great. It was amazing. He was bouncing up and down on the bed. He was
coryne:like a full Tom Cruise on the bed, just like jumping up and down. Like he's like, I did it. I did it. Like, he's so excited. And like, he's like, when can we do it again? Like one
francene (2):ego boost, by the way, though.
coryne:Yeah. Talking. I love that. The, like the way they're playing this in with all the girls and all, except for Miranda, but all.
francene (2):Well, Miranda has her bed. It's funny
coryne:now that I think about it with Miranda's like, her bed is just like sheets at this point. Right. Right. Yeah, that's mean guys, her hair and the narrative come on, but they're like, like, you know, Samantha's sure she's good in bed. Charlotte thinks she's terrible in bed. Carrie's getting like, just like she is
francene (2):all the affirmation right now. All the
coryne:affirmations. Right, right. Which is hilarious of like, so then
francene (2):just to rub it in into that narrative, the girls are then out for brunch and Carrie just out of character orders. So much stuff,
coryne:all the food. All the food. She was like four things off the menu and she orders like something to go.
francene (2):Yeah. And the girls are like, what? And she was like, I was just up all night. So
coryne:hungry. I'm famished. And then of course, Charlotte, this is so, Oh, I love this though. So Carrie's like basically telling them that she stayed up all night having sex and Charlotte, Charlotte says something to the effect of like. Or somebody's like, don't rub it in. She was like, it's fine. I'm taking a class. Yeah. She's like, I
francene (2):know I'm not good. So I am taking the test.
coryne:Gonna learn. So she signed herself up for a tantric love class and the girls are like, asking her all these questions. And she's like, no, I'm doing it. Like, I'm going to be better at this. I'm going to do it. And then I love Charlotte does that. Me of course. Yeah. I love that about her. She's like, I can fix this too. And then right at the end, when she's like, so listen, seats were limited. I send all three of you up as well. It's at this date and this time. See you there. Thanks. Kisses.
francene (2):But also this is what I love about them is like good friends. And honestly, I would do the same. Like I would never say no to anything. And I always have a hint of like, I'm intrigued and curious
coryne:for
francene (2):sure. I would go in a heartbeat.
coryne:For sure, I would go, I would go to support just you and also Intrigued Curious. I'm like, I'm doing this for
francene (2):you,
coryne:but
francene (2):I'm, I'm also interested. Teach me everything.
coryne:At this point, she's like, I mean, I could teach the class, but sure, I'll fucking go. Like, yes,
francene (2):that's what I wrote. It like cracks me up. She's like, but of course I'm in. I'll
coryne:do it. I'll do it. So they're going to all go to a tantric sex training workshop together, which I'm excited about.
francene (2):And then it cuts to Samantha wearing the most gorgeous like lingerie cream dress.
coryne:It's giving like nightgown but sexy vibes. It looks very expensive. Oh, beautiful.
francene (2):And then Samantha's wondering, oh yeah, because she has a moment of like, she's wondering if it's worth it, like if she should go through with the threesome. And then she sees. David and David, and also wearing white briefs again, must have been,
coryne:it obviously had to be the style. Maybe like, and there, when you say briefs, they're like boxer briefs, like they're the longer, but they just seem
francene (2):like they're not like, yeah, just tighter than boxers.
coryne:Yeah. I just don't like
francene (2):white.
coryne:Yeah, I like boxer briefs over boxers for sure. Now, brief briefs where they're like the bikini, no, no. Oh, no. No, no. But they're, but they look, I think that that was definitely the style, especially among the gays during that time, because it was like, you know, like the more fitted, the more they were showing it off. Oh, yeah.
francene (2):They're, wait, wait until all I'm doing is having flashbacks of. Aiden's briefs. Oh, which was those are the legs.
coryne:Love Aiden. Love him. I think it just spoke to like how unrefined and straight he was
francene (2):100 percent
coryne:part of his allure. Let's be honest. So, yes.
francene (2):So the minute Samantha sees them and they're like ready, excited She like, oh yeah, she like pulls them in, they start kissing her, and you know what I love too, is when they're doing it, it's like they're like kids, they're like, ooh, they're like giggling a little bit, and then they're like,
coryne:she's so
francene (2):soft.
coryne:Yeah, they're loving it.
francene (2):She pushes them, like continues to push like both their heads down.
coryne:And as they like, they get to her boobs and they're very into it and they're like going further south and further south and they get right to her lady bits and both of them at the same time are like, I can't do this. Can't do it. Can't do it. And I'm like, Oh my God, like that. I wouldn't feel good about that.
francene (2):Yeah. And you can, you can, but I love how they downplay it. Cause obviously they're friends, but it's the way they're like. Okay, well oh my God, let's go get cheesecake.
coryne:Yeah, they're like, why don't we get our clothes on and we'll go get some cheesecake.
francene (2):Samantha's just deflated.
coryne:Oh, she's, cause, well, I like it too, cause it's like such a ego check for her. That like, she's so sure she's a racehorse in the sack. And like, these, not for them. They're like, mm mm mm, can't do it. Thank you. Thanks for playing. Bye bye. At least,
francene (2):I mean, they tried.
coryne:They tried. E for effort. They get an E for effort. E
francene (2):for effort. They're like, it's not for me. And if you're going to do it with anyone like the caliber of like, Samantha.
coryne:Right.
francene (2):They're like, no, we're into guys.
coryne:We're totally into guys. Fully into guys. We double checked. Yeah. Thank you.
francene (2):So then it cuts to Carrie. She's with Patrick again, the smoker alcoholic. She's trying to
coryne:like, leave. Oh, that's right. She's trying to go to the tantric sex class. That's right. And he's in her bed and like, won't let her leave. And like, this is the, this is the most clear, like, red flag that he is giving her. Of like, this, he has an addictive personality. You are his new addiction and she's like fully having to like peel him off of her to get out of there. Like he does not want her to leave. He wants to have sex again and again and again and like It's
francene (2):just crazy how she can't see it. Like it's just so self absorbed. She's like, it must be me.
coryne:It's totally me. I mean, oh man. That
francene (2):is literally, so when the next scene, it cuts to them at that class and Charlotte's clearly into it. She has a notepad. She's all over it. Her glasses and her
coryne:serious shirt. Oh, all of
francene (2):it.
coryne:Student Charlotte is here.
francene (2):So freaking studious.
coryne:Her in glasses though, especially like those really square ones that she wears in like this scene and she, she wears them fairly often, but she looks so good like that.
francene (2):Oh, I agree. Yeah, she definitely pulls that off. But you have Carrie sitting, speaking to Miranda with like Samantha listening in and she's like, Oh my God, he's just like, he just can't get enough of me. It's just. So much like what the hell and then Samantha's like at least he wants to fuck you.
coryne:Oh man, Samantha never misses the opportunity for like the snappy freaking just dry biting comment. I love it.
francene (2):You can tell this is when you know she's like upset about it. But then she says Oh, so then they keep on like giggling and I feel like this is how I would be in that type of class. But the weird thing is it's so intimate. I don't know how they're getting away with it.
coryne:Yeah. Set the scene because like they're in someone's apartment. The lady in the living room is easily 68 years old and she's like very eclectic looking, right? She looks like Vivian
francene (2):Westwood but not as dramatic.
coryne:She does?
francene (2):Yeah. Do you not think?
coryne:I did not think that. I don't know that I have an image of Vivian Westwood in my head that's really pronounced though, but Vivian Westwood, I feel like always looks so put together. And this lady looks more like, she spells like, you know, patchouli. She has a lot of layers and colors on, like, I feel like she sells candles also.
francene (2):Yeah. Oh, first year. They're all going home with a candle without a candle,
coryne:but it's a candle. They're in her apartment and she starts to teach in the class. And then she brings out her like model, I guess you would call him. He's an equally aged old man. Who's completely naked and like lays down in front of like within three feet of where they're sitting, but it's her husband It's her husband
francene (2):But even then I'm like, oh, I don't I'd be so intrigued like I'm here for it But at this point like very awkward
coryne:Awkward. Yes, like there's a point in which like, and that's the thing is like the girls are like small talking and laughing and there's other people there. It's not just the four of them. And I hear you. It's like so intimate. How are they getting away with it? And also, it's so awkward. I feel like it's the only way to do it. Oh, same. I would
francene (2):be, I would. for sure. Give the inappropriate giggles.
coryne:Yeah.
francene (2):What also makes me laugh unless I misheard this. So when she brings out her husband, they start doing a demo and what does she call it? She's like, I'm going to display to you the very effective lingam massage. I think that's what I should have Googled it. I wanted to, I, I will after this. And then it says it's like carries narration one and a half hours later. What the fuck? And she like, and then you start seeing like Samantha disconnects from the conversation because she's like, Oh, what's going on there?
coryne:Yeah, yeah.
francene (2):And then they're all fully watching and Samantha's like, you go girl. And the teacher is demoing like a handjob.
coryne:Yeah.
francene (2):But, like, the guy is like
coryne:It's very tantric, and I mean, isn't that what tantric means? Is that it's like the prolonged, it's like delayed gratification?
francene (2):I mean, that's a long time to watch someone, like, I don't know if I'd had that concentration.
coryne:I would have been bored. In personal life,
francene (2):or watching.
coryne:I would have gotten real bored real fast, for sure. But
francene (2):then, oh my gosh, the way he like Okay,
coryne:so they, the girls are like Charlotte to carry all of them, like, as it's like getting to its climax, like they're like leaning in, leaning in, leaning in, like very intrigued in it. And then, and Miranda is like, Oh my God. He's about to, and he fully ejaculates and gets it on Miranda's face. I can't. I
francene (2):can't. Oh my god, I would, oh, I'd be sick.
coryne:I would be sick, yes. I would be ill. But I don't think she realizes it, does she? Oh, she does. She, like, jerks and, like, gets that look on her face of, like, the fuck just happened. Does someone hand her a tissue?
francene:Yeah, cause I'm sure she's like, what are y'all laughing at? Cause they're all cracking up. Oh my God. I know.
coryne:Like it was, it almost made me sick just watching it happen. Like I was like, not, it was not okay. It was not okay.
francene (2):Like, I'm going to say something and I need to say it. It's like, you know, when a guy's like you're in or whatever, and they're like, Where can I come as if it's like the hottest thing ever and you're like, no, nowhere. What do you mean? But then you're like where would you want to? And I just can't like yeah on your tits. You're like, yeah Like none of it's hot. Is it just me? I'm like Afterwards. I'm like, blah. I know. Exactly. They just love it. They just love just coming on stuff.
coryne:They do. They really do love that. And it's like that in the moment. I could not be turned off by it, but it's like the second after. Yes.
francene (2):That's what I mean. I'm like, I, I'm like, get it fucking off of me. Yeah.
coryne:Shower, shower. I gotta get this. Yes. Like I know. I know. So crazy. Oh, men are so gross. So gross.
francene (2):So then. So that's the
coryne:Patrick sex class. They learned a lot.
francene (2):They learned a lot. And we, we find out one of the other scenes. She's
coryne:going to send out class notes to everyone.
francene (2):With, without a doubt, because I think after that, she is then, it cuts to, it cuts to like Carrie first, but we can go straight to Charlotte. Where she's doing it with her surging guy,
coryne:with the guy who fell asleep on her. And she's like, he's like, fuck, they never falling asleep again. Bitch
francene (2):And the way she is at it, I'm like, get she listens. She learns and she applies.
coryne:Listen, learn better, do better. Like Charlotte's got it down pat, and that dude is loving every minute of it.
francene (2):And then meanwhile, poor Miranda, it cuts to her in bed. With a tissue constantly wiping her hair and face and her face face, like
coryne:right where it hit her. And she's in those pink sheets and she's, and they say, so they say something in the monologue about like, they allude to something about her having the perfect bed or like being happy at her bed or something like that. And it's like, again, like they just make her out to be such a loser in this
francene (2):episode. I know they, yeah. There's nothing, nothing going on for Miranda.
coryne:Nothing going on but terrible sheets and a book to read. It looks like a freaking legal book, like it's so big, you know.
francene (2):Okay, so then we go to Carrie. She's out. She met Patrick, the alcoholic smoker. Also in this
coryne:outfit, she's got that hot pink bra on again underneath the tank top. Oh, the contrast. Where you can totally see
francene (2):the bra. Yeah, yeah. So they're out for a movie, and when they're walking back, he says, and he's so like, you can just tell. Like he's just oozing. Yes. Yes, it's like he's on such a high high. Yeah, which I obviously think that was the purpose of it But he's like I was telling my sponsor about you and he's like, you know what fuck him just gonna tell you He's like, I love you. I'm in love with you and you can tell from that second. She's got the ick She's not interested and that's what I fucking hate about this Cause she pursued it, she pushed it, she wanted it, and now she's like, it's not for me. And I hate that.
coryne:The play devil's advocate, I will say this, while what you're saying is absolutely true, it's also shows kind of the difference between somebody who is, you know, living in a, maybe not the most mentally healthy. State and caring is fairly mentally well, most of the time, but like, I think it's that moment where she realizes, Oh shit, he is an addict and I am just his new addiction and like, none of this is real or sustainable. No,
francene (2):she knows. Yes. She knows that. And it's, that is taken. And she long.
coryne:Yeah. Yeah. But I think that she tries like in the, the next things that she says, she's trying to like choose the healthy response to that and say like, thank you so much. And like, I get it, but we've only been together a week and a half,
francene (2):which is crazy. And then she's like, maybe we should spend some time apart and he's like, wait, you're breaking up with me. And she's like, and I feel like. The second way she worded it, I'm like, hey, I just need a couple of nights. I maybe would have said that first because it does sound like she is immediately like, well,
coryne:obviously didn't sit well with her. And I feel like she, she tried to like, say, like, let's just, and if he had responded with like, you know what? You're right. I'm getting ahead of myself. Oh, yeah. You know, but he can't because that's not addicted. Yeah. And
francene (2):he's like, what do I do now? And she's like, go to me, which I appreciate.
coryne:Yeah.
francene (2):He's like, don't don't worry. I'll call you tomorrow. But again, it just shows clearly where he was at
coryne:and
francene (2):how he was not ready for like any of this. That he, he just doesn't know what to do with himself.
coryne:Yeah. Well, and it's like, that's the same, you know, that like, and she puts it perfectly that like, you know, he's just replaced his addiction with me. Like, yeah. Yeah. He puts it, she puts it perfectly. But so she knows
francene (2):secretly. She likes,
coryne:she liked it. But so she gets, she goes upstairs, he leaves, she's kind of like, Oh my gosh. And I think she says at that point, like I, she realized that she was an addiction. And then the next scene we see between the two of them, she's sleeping in her bed and she wakes up to him screaming her name outside of her apartment. And she goes to the window and you know, bad times. It's the middle of the night. He's standing in the middle of the street holding like a 40 of beer and like, he's like, like losing his mind. He's like, I fucking love you. And then he starts taking his clothes off. And he also says, he's like you totally fucked me up, like I told you I wasn't ready, and you pushed it by a few weeks, or like something like that, where he's like blaming her. Yeah,
francene (2):and then the other thing he does.
coryne:Get out of here. Like she's being such, and other people are screaming at him. Like it's, it's a whole sign scene.
francene (2):But the other thing that I love that this is like one of the last scenes to you is when he yells like you were the best fuck I ever had.
coryne:You're like, thanks for that. Google. Hey, you got to get the fuck out of here. Now you need
francene (2):to go. I'll take it. But then she says in, like, the narration, like, to kind of close out this episode, was Patrick sent a letter three weeks later saying he's back in the program and wondered,
coryne:Wanted to make amends.
francene (2):Wanted to make amends, and she, she was like I wondered if he will stay sober and if she really was the best fuck. Of course, of course that's what you're gonna have your mind going. Ego.
coryne:Okay. Congratulations. Oh, it's so good. Such a good episode. That was such a fun episode. It like, it was totally like a deviation from all the regular stuff. Like, I loved it.
francene (2):You're right. It has been like a little heavy, which I appreciate. Yeah. So then the next episode, 17, is the 20 something Something, something, I can't remember what the title is called.
coryne:Something, something,
francene (2):something. Wasn't it, it's like 20 something, 20 somethings and 20
coryne:something girls versus I can't read the rest of it. Does it say? Let me see. 20 something girls versus 30 something women. I remember this one well. Oh,
francene (2):same. And then
coryne:Bad things are gonna
francene (2):happen. Bad things are gonna happen. There's so much that's gonna go down. Plus We have our special guest Jeremy Jensen is also going to join us for this episode. And this is the first time he has watched Sex and the City, so I cannot wait to hear his viewpoint. So, yeah.
coryne:First time we've ever had a guest and first time he's ever watched sex in the city. And we have another quiz ready for Jeremy.
francene (2):Yes, we do, which I'm excited about.
coryne:Make sure you guys tuned into that episode. It's going to be a super fun one. And then after that is the last episode of the season. Yes. Yeah. Look at us. I know bringing it home for season two. Bringing
francene (2):it home. All right, well, we will see you all next week.
