Today we're going to talk about why dental marketing is a scam. Recently, someone posted in a Facebook group a dentist and they said all dental marketing is an absolute scam. It's all a scam, it all stinks. And you know what? They're right. Dental marketing is never going to work for them, and any money that they spend it on it is going to be absolutely wasted. But it's not a scam for everybody. There's some people who have figured it out. And over the years, what I've learned working with dentists is that dentists are super smart and they're super detailed. And they're perfectionists. And dentistry requires you to be a perfectionist. You're dealing with little millimeters margin of error. And in the world of business and in marketing, that's not how it works. You're not dealing with little margins of error. You're dealing with a bunch of different ways to do something and to win. And a lot of times dentists don't understand that there's other factors at play outside of just marketing. Marketing's one component. If you didn't watch the podcast yesterday, go check it out. I talked about the three M's of marketing. There's the market, those are your competitors. That really determines how well you're going to do or not do. You need to know what your competition's doing and what kind of patients are in your market. Number two, you need to understand your marketing that speaks to those people in that market and also keeps in mind what the competition's doing. And then number three is your management. You have to be able to manage your team and hold them accountable to the right things. If you're not holding them accountable to the right things, then you're never going to be successful. Marketing will never work. It'll never work. And all three of them have to work in conjunction. So marketing is a scam for dentists that don't understand this. They literally will never be successful. Anytime that I talk to a dentist and they say, ah, I've worked with 10 marketing companies and none of them worked, I know right away that they are not understanding this. They are the problem. And so you have to understand this. You have to learn how to overcome this. So how do you overcome this? Well, you can either dive in into it yourself and take several years to figure it out, or you can work with a growth partner. A growth partner is somebody who understands the pitfalls you're going to fall in before you fall in them and has the resources to help you fix those things. And so I have a long list of all the different things that can go wrong, but more importantly than that, I have a conference coming up, a webinar that we're going to be doing this month on the 26 growth hacks that you need to have in place in 2026.
